It's a pretty slow burn like I said, the author is definitely going for realism, but he's definitely pushing the idea of Jaune slowly becoming a master and slowly growing into his semplence. With other girls potentially getting added to his harem, and Ruby getting a guaranteed spot after this current arc rolls by.

With the cultist I'm thinking idiots that got in way over their head. I saw this horror movie recently, incredibly mediocre but the ending was just amazing. All these smug cultist through the movie just shitting themselves once they realize they really did summon satan, i'll pull up the scene real quick if I can find it.

I'm thinking noble orgy party filled with drugs, murder, and debauchery. Something horrible enough that Charlie would go full rip and tear no questions asked, not only because I want Charlie to be completely by herself in the beginning, so no hopeful cultist members to act as a depository of exposition for her, but also I want her to realize just how horrible people can be.

Since a pretty big running theme of this story is Charlie slowly morphing into her father's role for this world, after hundreds of years of trying to fix shitty people. So having Charlie inadvertently wipe out a bunch of people in the beginning will not only be pretty traumatizing for her, I'll make the deaths accidental as her extreme emotions lights everything on fire, but it'll also set the tone.

Oh and here's the scene I was looking for. That's what the cultist's viewpoint of that night is going to be.
