The issue with logging in with email addresses has been resolved.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
No sequel. I'll let this one just sit. I won't protest if people decide to write some sidestory or omakes exploring more. I'll canonize them too if they're good.
Epilogue
The actions of a lone individual are something that are hard to quantify. Oftentimes, our every action only seems to affect ourselves or those we immediately interact with. Lone acts of kindness are ignored or forgotten because we don't consider the actions noteworthy or life-changing...
"I haven't seen one of these outside of a museum in years," Hanse picked up the M16A4.
"It's a piece of my history," I replied. "Though, there's one major difference in the rifle that we have here and from what I read about the history of Earth.
"Oh?" Hanse raised an eyebrow. "I know the intel...
The next few months sped by. It took time, but I’d finally cleared out all of the junk left behind by the previous owners. After turning in the scraps to various recycling centers, I took the cash given to me and turned it into the beginnings of my first cash crops. I had already reached out to...
I wheeled to a stop in the parking lot of the cigar shop I visited once every coupled of months. I wasn’t quite a regular, but I was there often enough that the owner waved me over with a smile when he saw me.
“Mark,” the guy waved me over. “I haven’t seen you in a while. You been keeping...
It was shocking how quickly Luke had an offer for the Bakery. A week after he’d listed it on the open real estate market, I arrived to see Luke showing a couple around the bakery.
“Miss Margaret, Mister Thomas, this is my employee, Mark Smith,” Luke introduced me with a smile.
“A pleasure,” I...
A few days later, Luke came to a decision about what to do with the bakery.
"So, I'm going to be honest," Luke confided in me as we set things up one morning. "Cheryl and I aren't really all that attached to the bakery. It's something for me to do that keeps me busy, but we're just as...
"Hey, Luke," I pulled the older man in for a hug, noting that he seemed to have aged another few years in the last six months. "You doing alright?"
"I'm tired," he grunted. "I didn't think that I'd ever get reactivated, and I had forgotten how much it wears on you."
He gestured for me to take...
"So, you're still getting a military commission?" I asked Kat after we finished dinner and returned ot the porch.
"Yeah," she replied. "I know that what I experienced was hard. But I still have a responsibility. Part of me putting the pieces back together is proving to myself that I can still...
I spent the time cutting the grease and rinsing it off as much as possible while trying to piece together my scattered thoughts and emotions from a jumbled mess into something that might resemble a cohesive whole.
I liked Kat. I knew that, and both she and I knew that there was definitely the...
I woke up the following day next to the fireplace. The warmth glowing embers of the last few pieces of firewood I'd thrown in the first thing to greet me aside from Sage's cold nose as she nudged my bare foot.
"I'm up," I grunted at the Twins, stretching my arms out over my head and sighing in...
The negotiations went well. Matron Aelyta and I eventually came to an agreement that was able to satisfy the both of us. The problem was that now we'd have to wait here in the system for a longer period of time.
It was going to take about a week for one of Vitra's larger ships to come and tow...
“No, don’t paw my face,” Katherine tried to sternly correct one of the puppies but felt her heart give way to the cute and innocent face. “Fine,” She jokingly sighed. “C’mere,” She pulled the white fluff into her lap and scratched behind his ears.
His pink tongue lolled out of his mouth, and...
"It's so strange seeing a ship without gravity or inertial dampening in this day and age," Eshira muttered to herself as Helix and her followed Captain Hull to the engine room. "Helix, did you see the outer disk that rotated when we passed by?"
"Yeah," Helix replied. "What about it?"
"That's...
The only reason I dove into the spy/thriller at all or went bit scale with things was to justify the DoppelKat!
But why couldn’t I do both? The dichotomy of one person enjoying a life outside of the big stressors versus the big schemes and warfare through the Inner Sphere isn’t something that...
One of the first things I'd done with the property once I'd bought this old farm and the acreage around it was use the old tractor to create a berm on an isolated field. I occasionally allowed the herds and flocks to graze the tall grass down. Mostly though, I went over those fields with the...
The thing about grief, is that there are times when it bubbles back up to the surface. I've been here on New Avalon and in this universe for four years now. But sometimes, that sense of loss still rises. Like dead leaves blowing into a crystal clear lake. It disrupts the calm surface and sends...
I mean, in canon BT there was an experiment that did a 400+ light year jump that was possible. Pushing the K-F drive to the extreme results in near-instantaneous teleportation across a large chunk of the galaxy. Sure, it'll take a while. But I'm not here to write about tech exchanges. I'm here...
