The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.
In the completed "The Erogamer" thread, someone was infracted ("https://forum.questionablequesting.com/threads/the-erogamer-original-complete.5465/page-352#post-5445916"), for what I gather was advertising his set-in-Erogamer-world fic.
Since fics set in The Erogamer universe are directly...
Hey, I'm not sure if you noticed, so I thought to tell you in case you wanted to know: "Source of Conflict" by Sincerely, which you participated in in the past, has started updating again.
Look, that you annoyed me slightly on a forum thread, or that I felt you and Aoinfinity acted in a somewhat bad-mannered way, hardly justifies such an extreme reaction as you suggest.
Take care, man, and don't take my opinion that seriously. People upset people on the internet, this is inevitable.
I hate how you keep not getting it. Even when the author says that something should be deleted, that you shouldn't be speculating about real-life identity, no not even "jokingly", people like you and Aoinfinity are just choosing to disrespect the author's wishes on this, just because you have a...
Seriously, you just forgot the last time that a mod swooped in and warned against speculation, and said how it would be punished harshly, even though we had even a profile discussion about it the last time too?
Can you just delete the paragraph of continued discussion of the theory from your post instead of liking my own response? The whole point is to remove/reduce speculation, as the author doesn't want speculation, not to draw attention to it.
"Different people" is too simplistic. She'd imagine Skitter had a power of self-duplication and used it to be both a villain and infiltrate the heroes while possibly controlling both bodies. Or that someone else in her team could duplicate her for the same purpose.
Either way she believes...
Frankly I've never heard them used like that. Helpful/Harmful vs "innate virtue of the act" seems to be a distinction between consequentialistic and deontological moral/ethical systems, not a distinction between morality and ethics.
No, it's not. Ethics are specific codified rules of behaviours, useful as guidelines of mainly what not to do, derived from morality but not defining it, because we can't have every moron try to derive good behaviour from first principles every time...
In Worm we have an example of Taylor who...
This seems to me... generic. Any set of beliefs about any subject is different from person to person but guided by the culture's overall beliefs. The particular topic of morality isn't unique in this. Ask about the existence of god, afterlife, ghosts or the possibility of extraterrestrial life...
Here's a bit of history: Your god never existed and never created humanity. None of the miracles attributed to God by various religions, from the creation of the universe, the earth, life, or humanity have the slightest scientific evidence backing them up.
Go speak to your imaginary friend in...
I recommend the first book, and parts of the second, some nice ideas, some nice visuals, some nice characters -- but I found nothing of value worth mentioning in the 3rd. It devolves into an incoherent mess that doesn't make sense either thematically or plotwise, or in terms of worldbuilding, or...
