Dude, he just fought a damn Kayt Dragon. Give him a little slack.I'd have expected a Force user trained by a lightsaber Master to react differently when fired upon
I'd have expected a Force user trained by a lightsaber Master to react differently when fired upon. Plus,
if you are a Force Prodigy, the Force will provide the right tool at the right moment. A few examples I thought of right away:
1. Use your weapon to block the shot. Something even the 6-years-old younglings were shown to do reliably.
2. Summon a Force Barrier.
3.Teleport away
4. Phase and let the incoming fire pass through you.
5. Dive into the ground, using Stone Meld or some variant of.
6.Telekinesis and hold the incoming shot in mid-air.
7. Throw up a stone pillar or some kind of sand wall.
8. Force Speed yourself out of the way.
9. Counter the shot with lightning or some other spell.
10. Mind control some creature to take the shot for you.
Nah, saying fuck it and teleporting isn't what' I'd have gone for. I'm questioning why he didn't use the sarlac's blood to deactivate the bracers as soon as it started raining down. The fact that he didn't say fuck it and teleport out kinda annoys me dude almost died because he wanted to adhere to a trial so he could impress a bunch of barbarians with nice iron
I'm skipping ahead to respond to this immediately because I found it so fucking jarring and just record scratching for me story-wise. I don't really read other people's posts, but this comes off as you being harassed for not using Player's Mind(which is one of the main features of a Gamer fic, otherwise it's just LitRPG) and this whole section is the passive-aggressive response, which claims to give justification for a reoccurring decision the MC makes that inevitably makes things harder for the MC(while ironically claiming that using it would actually be the thing that makes things harder later). And then doing a complete face-slap by stating its "advantageous use" would be for a petty, non-sense, hypocritical reason(because apparently learning how to control emotional reactions in combat isn't in any way related to learning how to control emotional reactions when people are trying to get emotional responses out of you.(Dude, what the fuck?))I considered activating Player's Mind but decided against it. Before I'd removed it from the default combat abilities that auto-activated – and thus why it didn't activate automatically while running for my life from the greater krayt dragon – I'd come to realise that even though it was countering my emotions during combat, it was also slowing my reactions. Emotions, and the chemicals a body created in tense situations, helped one focus if harnessed correctly. And while this body was still growing and maturing, I felt it was now time for me to begin to learn to handle those reactions so that there was less risk that an unexpected emotional reaction in the future overrode my control and cost me my life.
Plus, there was also the fact that if I relied on it to maintain control over my emotions, I was cutting myself from a part of myself, which would make my discussions with Serra regarding the Force and emotions completely hypocritical. And yes, not using Player's Mind was also cutting off a part of myself, but that ability was one no one else had and something I felt was disturbingly unnatural, thus to not use it was the lesser of the two evils when dealing with denying a part of myself.
However, I suspected that there were going to be times where using it would be advantageous; like dealing with the High Council when I didn't want to give any of them the satisfaction of getting an emotional response out of me.
Agreed. This chapter was pretty disappointing, especially since we now have to wait another month to see how this ends.I'm annoyed that this chapter ended the same way as the last chapter. 16k more words and Shan is once again unconscious and critically wounded on the sands of Tatooine.
Now I feel more upset because I feel robbed. Yeah, you had Cam forgo Player's Mind to leave the door open for him to be pushed to lashing out with the Dark Side. Great. Except, thanks to the section addressed previously, the whole thing feels massively contrived. And the thing that could make it better and smooth it out: the aftermath of his Dark Side usage? Hidden behind the exact same cliffhanger as before. C'mon man, seriously? I've never actually been hype and then mad about a story update before. I'm not enjoying the experience.Even as I moved as quickly as I could without the pain overloading my senses
Padmé had been willing to take herthird Jedifriend at face value
Beta edits left in the chapter.which meant he had to continue to playtheservant to the Muun that appeared in the holocall.
Considering his reaction times are already slowed by his injuries, and with the severity of those injuries, that isn't something he can afford. It doesn't wind up amounting to much in the end, but it's an entirely reasonable choice for him to make.
By Cameron's reckoning, during his conversation with Yaddle, Revan and Malak didn't truly Fall until they met Vitiate, on Dromund Kaas. I'm not sure what to make of this detail, but it is interesting.Though the only concern Yoda had about Shan was his growing fascination with the very people that, from what the records say, were the cause of why Revan turned to the Dark Side.
If the bracer is sparking, why is it still working? If it's working, why is the effect constant? If it's still working and he's got precog going, why isn't he using the bracer to shield against the mercs attacks, until the damage disables it?I growled out as I tapped the codes needed to disable the bracer, onlyfor the thing to blink and sizzle, sending a jolt of fresh pain up the arm.
"Fuck!" I shouted as the bracer failed to deactivate and my HP bar dropped a fraction more. "Bloody mother-fucking stupid arsed, fucking piece of god damn shit!"
Padmé sighed as she sat in her lesson, listening to the lecturer speak about the importance of recognising the warning signs of corruption in a political body.
I guess she failed that lesson. While part of her understood the message, the greater part of her felt that was an extremely negative and distrustful approach to take. There were good politicians around, like Senator Palpatine of her home planet of Naboo.
She's read it 3 times, and yet still doesn't understand the metaphor of The One Ring or how it relates to that lesson. KEK.However, the main reason for her weariness with the lecture was not the repeated dour message, but the fact a signed copy of 'Return of the King' was sitting on her bed. Cameron had it sent to her as an advance copy for her birthday and while she had already read it twice, she wanted to read it a third time before placing it with the other two signed copies that were some of her most precious possessions.
"My name is Mace Windu." Dooku said calmly, keeping his face neutral to keep the Devaronian unaware of his deception. By doing this he guaranteed that his name was not linked to this and that it would result in confusion for Master Windu. Dooku was almost regretful he would not be present when the Devaronian tried to call in the favour and Windu would have no clue as to what was happening. "When you wish to call in the favour, refer to yourself as A Bad Motherfucker."
will of the forceWhat had once been an order built on the ideals of honour and following the will if the force had become nothing more than the weak and loyal lapdog for a corrupt and failing Galactic Senate.
not what was agreed
I think you mean obliquely here, not obtrusively.
