Chapter 1 The Bad Guy? Really?

Adam pondered the bull- no horse shit his life had become, not for the first time and most certainly not the last time he would do so.

He woke up in the middle of bumble duck nowhere with somebody else's name and face, and an anime gun-sword lying next to him along with a cool mask.

That had been a month ago, and he'd become both more and less then well acquainted with the locals, such as they were.

The only thing that saved me from becoming monster lunch was the weird anime stuff and the new superpower, Moonslice, absorbs damage and energy through any weapon I'm holding and stores it up to release it later.

It was pretty awesome, might have even been amazing if it hadn't come at the cost of his entire life, which he couldn't even remember fully, ugh.

Thinking about it would give him a headache whenever he tried to dig too deep into his own mind, it was annoying, but also kept him from getting too lost in thought.

Which was very useful in scenarios like this.

Ducking under the Beowolfs swing I angled Blush under its jaw, a shot sent the hilt of Wilt smashing into its jaw with a satisfying crack, sending it stumbling back as I grabbed my sword and slashed it four times, slaying it.

As it turned to ash I looked up at the sky, Stars and a shattered moon looked down at me, mocking me, rain was pouring around me so I ducked back into the little burrow under a tree I'd been lucky enough to find just in time.

My humble abode, a tiny hole under a tree, and thick root walls stopped the water from getting to me, so it was enough for me.

I sat back against the wall, staring out into the rain, glimpsing a few more glowing red eyes in the darkness, watching me, waiting for me…

I wasn't impressed, not anymore at least, they were all bark and no bite now, especially with there not being any big ones around, at least that he could find.

He settled in for another wait, until another one inevitably found its courage and attacked him, and went back to pondering who he was.

Adam Taurus wasn't a half bad name all things considered, it fit given he was now a "Faunas", basically a person with an animal trait, his was a pair of bull horns, thankfully they weren't big enough to get in the way, which he was grateful for, and they blended in with his hair pretty well.

It'd been two days since he'd had anything to eat or drink, his stomach raged at him and refused to let him ignore it, so he sat and suffered, and the lack of sleep itself.

The only thing he could blame for his continued survival was luck and superpower's, because he definitely should have died from the last meal he had gotten, it really showed how utterly incapable he was of cooking anything without a microwave.

He sighed, a month of this, fighting monsters, finding whatever food and water he could that seemed reasonably safe, and so much damn walking, it was driving him mad.

On the long ass trek to hopefully civilization, but at this point he'd almost given up hope on that front, and just kept pushing forward to spite whatever God put him here to suffer, and to kill as many of the monsters as he could get his hands on.

He was doing a decent enough job of the latter, the former was less certain, but in any case he'd survived a month in this monster infested wasteland.

Maybe calling it a wasteland was a bit harsh, but all he'd found was a few animals and bird's and a stupid amount of monsters that wanted to eat me, and not a damn person for miles.

He sighed a sigh of sighs and rubbed his eyes, remembered he was wearing both a cool mask and blindfold and continued rubbing anyway.

A loud howl tour through the night, soon echod by dozens of just barely quieter roars and howls of other monsters.

It was going to be another very long night…

Three days later he was walking, and walking and then you want to know what he did after walking?

More walking, interspersed with killing monsters and stopping to over cook a bird or two, and then finally he saw something different.

Smoke rising in the distance.

On the one hand, there was a lot of bad things that could be the cause of the smoke, could be a forest fire, he didn't know, which wasn't a good thing, if it was people would they be violent?

He wasn't human anymore, the horns were a dead give away, would the people there be racists, or maybe they'd be Faunas too, a lot of possibilities and maybe's and what ifs.

What he was actually doing instead of being smart and considering his options was rushing towards the smoke at full speed.

Id been walking for over a month by now, five weeks and change, I didn't care what was there as long as it showed proof there were people here at all.

Please be social activity…

A few minutes later and I was there, the first smoke had friends now, rising into the sky as I observed the small town I'd just walked into.

That's a lot of people, too bad they were all too busy being in varying stages of dismemberment and disembowelment to give me directions to the next town, or talk to me, or live…

I looked at a pair of smaller bodies, both looked practically like twins.

Everyone and everything in the village was just…

Dead.

Even the damn plants were dead.

Swords, spears, hammers, maces, shields, guns and so much more, all useless against whatever did this.

I stayed in that village for a while, found a shovel and got digging, I placed the weapons of the soldiers into the dirt above their graves, put what I could only assume were family members next to each other, and made crude grave markers…

When I was finally finished with the last grave, two days later, and after half a dozen fights with the monsters to stop them from eating the bodies I-

I just stood there, looking at my work…

They deserved better, I couldn't offer them much…

But the tracks, monster tracks, the ones that filled the village when I got here, that were blood smeared, that led to wherever the bastards had gone after they butchered these people.

… I couldn't offer them much, but I could give them vengeance, justice.

Or at least, I could certainly try.

And so, I set off, following the tracks in the direction
they led, hoping to avenge people I didn't know, and to kill Monsters.

Author note… thought's?

Chapter 2 Moonslice. New
Chapter 2 Moonslice.

Left foot, then the right.

Each fall of his feet caused fallen leaves to crunch and twigs to snap, he walked and walked and kept walking, there was no echo of bird's of any other animals, and the trees near here were dead, withered husks of wood with no leaves left to fall.

Countless marks and scars dotted the land, entire trees cut to pieces, dozens of what he could only guess were ruins, ancient one's at that, some he could only barely glimpse from as far as he could see, others rotted and withered beneath his very feet, stone paths that were marked by time and countless marks, weapons and claws both…

He has nothing better to do then watch and observe his surroundings, passing by miles and miles of practically empty forest with a growing upwards incline, he'd grit his teeth when he'd run out of trail to follow and had almost turned back.

Almost.

He'd promised them Justice, and he wasn't keen on breaking the first promise he'd made here, even to the dead, or especially to the dead.

So he'd stubbornly continued on his path, moving forward in the direction the tracks ended, I got the occasional attack, one or two of the things, but they all seemed to be heading in the same direction, a bunch of them even outright ignored me, it was unsettling.

The first few times it had happened he'd been both too shocked and to slow to catch them, but by the sixth time he managed to get them all, but they in turn seemed to get better at getting around him.

It was frustrating to no end.

Grunting these thoughts he pushed through a thick section of brush, bush, branches, thorn's and other assorted vegitation, his discontent almost distracting him enough to walk straight off a cliff!

Jumping back and taking a deep exasperated breath I look out over the landscape beneath.

Ahh, so that's where all the Grimm were going, good to know.

Did I have enough ammo for all this?

Checking… no clue, haven't had to reload yet and I've definitely fired over a hundred shots with it.

My aim isn't great alright?!

…I've been alone for too long…

Anyway-

Fuck that's bright!

Leaping back through to hide behind the trees I listen to the unmistakable sound of fighting, I've become quite accustomed to the sound, though usually I don't scream battle cries and shoot lasers from my eyes, bright silver lasers the hit everything in the area, not just the Grimm that's right in front of them, or much more likely her.

Was it Ruby? Where was I in the timeline? Ugh this was going to be troublesome wasn't it?

Who would have guessed VENGEANCE would be so hard?

I pushed those thoughts away for a moment and brought out my "canteen" such as it was, an alcoholic beverage I'd… hmmf, I'll not sugar coat it.

Looted from the village while I was there burying the deceased, they didn't exactly have a use for it anymore, and it helped me kill the bastards that murdered them.

Most of the food in the village was… less than edible, and I'm just going to leave it at that, but what food was left edible I brought with me or ate while I was there.

And took a long gulp of good enough to be drinkable water, so basically the finest wine in the world to me.

What a funny thought.

My sense of humor is probably fucked now.

My mouth stretched into a long slight frown, cheeks slightly puffed out as he stared at the light show going on In the… ravine?

Not a full ravine, kinda like a half ravine, looks more like a plain old mess though.

Green explosion followed by three black and red ones.

Like a big fat canyon, kinda reminded him of the original Blood Gulch box canyon… if it was red and black and straight out of a bad horror movie.

More silver light, lots of screaming, now lots of blue explosions, lighting, wind and ice tearing through the area, gunshots and normal non colorful, boring explosions collapsing a spike outcropping from the side of the canyon wall.

Should I help, I think to myself, and as though the universe itself can hear my thoughts all too well I get my answer.

That spike in the wall wasn't a spike at all.

But a horn.

A horn of what if what exactly?

Chungus-

Well it was a little too big to get a good look at it to say.

I think I'll sit this one out…

I tried to get a better look at the hunt- or at least I assumed they were Huntsmen and Huntress's, would be kinda weird if they weren't, given they were giving that Kaiju looking Grimm the work.

And just as I think that I'm pretty sure one of them just got squished, like crushed raspberries, I think I threw up a little bit at that.

Next thing I know I'm picking myself up off the ground, the sun in a noticeable different place in the sky, setting behind me and casting the canyon into shadows.

Did I faint?

Damn, I guess there really is a first time for everything, no matter how embarrassing.

No I totally had a nap of my own volition, don't look to deep into it!

Totally…

Anyway, looks like everything dead down there-

…God, Salem is…

Even uglier than I expected, I mean seriously what did Ozpin see in that?

And it looked like she was, monologuing?

Now, I don't know about you, but when I see a villain leaving themselves completely open to monologue about there evil plan or whatever assorted nonsense, it sends me into a blind rage.

So I grabbed Blush, unsheathing Wilt as I lept into the canyon, stabbing into the wall to slow my fall and landed softly enough, and began making my way towards Her.

I'd only get one chance to do anything to Salem, I'd have to hit her with everything I had and hope- pray really, that it was enough.

a fool's hope almost definitely, but it would be a lot more than just killing a few Grimm, or at least, it felt like it to me at the moment, I'm sure if I thought it through I wouldn't have done what I did, but hindsight is twenty twenty.

And I might not live long enough to get hindsight, so why worry about it now?

Charging up a devastating attack, pouring every little bit of power I had accumulated since arriving here on Remnant In the world of RWBY as Adam.

About 100 meters or so from her.

Preparing to activate the fire dusk in Wilt might not help much, but anything is better than nothing, every little bit of power I have is needed for this…

70 meters and picking up the pace, the power driving me forward faster.

I hope it will be enough, no, I know it will be enough!

30 meters…

Right?

10 meters….

It has to be.

She finally notices me, turning slowly as if annoyed or bored, like she knows nothing is a threat to her, and for now she's probably right.

But I'm still going to try, and if anybody can deal enough damage in one shot to put Salem down, it's gotta be me, at least from what we've seen and know about the series.

Betting my life on super powers I got a little over a month ago…

Fuck it, we ball.

She turned too late to do anything to stop my attack, I released all the power with a full force swing that rattled my entire body and made my arm go numb.

I'm afraid to look up, staring at the ground, from the outside I imagine it looks like I'm aura farming or something but really I just think it might have been a dud or something.

After a minute of staring at the ground, I finally found the courage to look up.

She's gone, and in her place is a bunch of rose petals, black blood and dust.

Welp, I probably have time I guess, shooting the goop when it starts moving, I frown.

Not much though.

I look at what I assume is the last survivor of the group of Hunter's, and she's a mess.

Broken halberd axe rifle thing, white cloak slowly turning red with blood from a bunch of wounds cuts all over her, and her eyes look like they've been burned or melted out of her head.

Well, Cannon's ruined I guess.

She's mumbling something, crying tears of blood.

I walked towards her, she's bleeding too much, I raised Wilt.

I hope it doesn't hurt too much.
