I suspect Leviathan's out of character behaviour was a result of a Simurgh plan to advance it's goals related to Taylor.
 
Foul cliffhanger begone!!! Thanks for the update. I don't know why but this chapter just felt shorter than normal even though it wasn't, I checked lol. Guess it was just that good of a read lol

I have no idea but if she wanted to actually stop it she wouldn't have waited until after Taylor explained things and Herres already had been convinced.

So while probably some dumb idea it doesn't include stopping the use of the Focus.

Short answer? Yes.

Longer answer? After all the crimes against humanity they've committed sacrifices they've made, they're the only ones who get to save the world, and it will be done their way or not at all. At best, they're all running on sunk-cost fallacies trying to make it all worth something. At worst, Contessa is running on similar logic as that dumb delusional brat, Ciara, and is actively sabotaging not just humanity but both Eden the Thinker and Zion the Warrior so that Abaddon the Wanderer can take Earth's multiverse for itself with minimal effort.

And then you've got David, who's just a more powerful Homelander and deserves a planet's worth of nut punches.
