Hrm. One issue comes to mind - Taylor's shard was originally attached to Danny, but passed on to her since he failed to get himself into any trigger events. I find it hard to believe that this Danny never got in a situation bad enough to trigger.
My personal belief is that despair has a lot to do with triggering. Not only the worse day of your life. If Danny didnt get despaired enough even in bad situations he wouldn't trigger. I am not sure if is canon or not, but someone gave an example that if you are trapped in a burning building and trigger you could trigger with teleportation, pyrokinesis, hydrokinesis or who knows what, and you didnt even had to go through the trauma conga for triggering.Hrm.
