True. Well, I would say that they would tie with DMC 1 Dante, not beaten him, but yeah. That was the kind of power level we are working with.
Well that was why I said Mid. They were not beating Late game DMC 1 Dante and it would be a Joke to think they could face Sparda Dante vs Mundus.
However they kicked Phantoms ass something Early game Dante actually struggled with that and in the end couldn't actually kill it without outside help.
Also a good way to explain the difference between DMC 3 and 1 is Dante is not as flashy And is more efficient. Between Trish throwing his off his game and you know hunting his mother's killer and dads nemesis Dante was a serious as he was going to get.
On a different note I had this theory about Blue and Purple orbs to explain why Dante is not constantly maxed out or why he definitely weaker early game vs late game between instalments.
The orbs boost or a least its over max is temporary. Allowing you to push past to reach your current max potential and push past it safely.
However over time that let's say days or weeks later that overcharge would start to fade or condense. You'd be 25 or 50% stronger then your previous Max but your no longer overclocked as it were. This would balance the nature of orbs and why the likes of demons and power hungry humans don't abuse them. As there might be cheaper more long lasting ways to grow stronger but none give such a quick or potent boost.
This would have been bad news for the boys but thanks to their hybrid nature coming after they started boosting Their Max is much much higher then they started. Meaning the drop could be less leaving then at late DMC 3 Dante level which is still impressive mind.
