Same shenanigans apply as all my other stuff. If you don't like the very clearly AU fanfiction I have made for my commissioner... Please feel free to leave without commenting. Constructive criticism does not include telling people you do not like the story because x reason you come up with. It only includes talking about potential errors and problematic parts, usually, and unfortunately those are not things I'm looking for for this fic either, unless you happen to be the one paying me for the fic.

If you don't like that I will not accept any of your proposed changes and "criticisms" for this story, then make your own? It's not that hard. The computer is right there, and clearly you know how to type.

If you liked the story? That's great. This is written for my bro Ozimyy, so he's really the only one whose opinions on the fic matter to me unless you're willing to pay up though.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and stay fluffy!

Destruction of Escalation 01:

Disclaimer:
Kitsu: This is a commission for my good friend Ozimyy, and is specifically made in line with what he wants for the story, because I have very little information and idea how Touhou works as a whole.

As such, this is an incredibly AU version of Gensokyo, and the world of Earth Bet will be the main focus. Which will also be very AU very fast, because of the things you'll see in the first chapter here, if that wasn't blatantly obvious already by the time you read it.

As it is a story for my Christian friend, and because Flandre is a literal child, there will be no sex scenes. However, some scenes involved might be minorly gory, somewhat violent, and generally not safe to show to your boss as a result, so I may have to put it in the NSFW section for that reason regardless, depending on what the moderator bros say, who I'll be asking before I post this.

After all, we wouldn't want y'all to be flashbanged at work with Flandre murking some poor mf by making them pop into a spray of gore, right?

Yeah, Flandre is busted as hell in this setting, and I don't think many things could truly harm her here, but I'm going to be leaning into the crack territory here to keep things as interesting as I can. After all, this story is meant to be a rather short one in the end.

I don't want to hear about the story not being canon, when it is clear that this is kinda the point. It would just lead to me pressing the ignore button on anyone who ignores this disclaimer and complains regardless.

Ozimyy will be making pictures to commission this for the most part, so expect it to come out decently quickly but not overly so. Especially as this technically is not a major priority.

As always, if this story is not to your tastes, the exit button is easy to find, as is the back button, and if worst comes to worst, Alt+F4 is your friend.

Anything you'd like to add Ozimyy?

Ozimyy: When it comes to images, I won't try to draw anything nsfw. However, things might unintentionally end up nsfw like with the Leviathan pic I drew. That was supposed to be red energy, however it ended up looking like blood so I had to alter it. The original will still be uploaded here on QQ however. Hope you enjoy the fic.

It was with careful thought and consideration that Okina Matara had come to the conclusion that defeating the Entities that had invaded their reality and split it into many alternate copies, might potentially be enemies that they would have to take rather seriously.

She was a goddess, and one with the power and might to match any of the other gods and Sages toe to toe without breaking much of a sweat, so she was normally confident that she was quite capable of dealing with existential threats to the land of Gensokyo without much effort. Yet this incomprehensible conglomerate of beings, the Shards as they had come to be known, were causing untold havoc and destruction in the outside world — or outside worlds as it were — and forcing themselves upon hapless humans for unknown purposes.

It was unfortunate, and rather annoying to deal with such intrusive aliens, and Okina had truly prepared a list of options to compare for the sake of potentially removing their influence from the world at large. It was something both herself and all of the other Sages had decided was a necessity, and something that should be carried out immediately, lest they invite a ruinous end upon themselves.

Of course, she couldn't simply ask the Hakurei Shrine Maiden, Reimu to deal with such things for her, regardless of how important it was. No, her efforts were put to far better use shutting down the multitudes of Lunarians who had all gone to war with one another to decide which of the now split multiverse of interconnected moons was the pure one, in some strange form of fascism and nationalistic pride versus their alternate selves.

Nor could she call upon Marisa Kirisame, as the notorious thief had somehow managed to find herself investigating a black market revolving around the new Magic Card system that had been invented. Unfortunate, but it was only a matter of time before that was resolved, and she could also make use of her unique talents to hopefully help the person she was leaning towards for this excursion to the outside world.

And on that topic, it would certainly have been rather nice to be able to bring Sanae along for this expeditious adventure. However, she was unfortunately not able to do anything remotely strenuous for the time being, as she had come across a rather bored Cirno, who was freezing lakes filled with frogs, and exerted herself strongly to reprimand the ice fairy on behalf of her Goddesses.

Sakuya was rather preoccupied with helping the other Sages and their familiars do their best to rebuff the constant attacks and intrusions by the Shards into their space, so she would be unavailable for the foreseeable future. This was also expounded by the fact that Yuyuko and Youmu had — for some unfathomable reason — decided to take a tour of the outside world, and enjoy what strange new delicacies they might have come up with in the last few centuries.

Okina could understand the appeal, but doing so now of all times was a rather poor choice of timing all things considered. Especially because that left her with essentially one option remaining, that she had any confidence in being able to complete the mission with any form of efficiency and expediency.

Flandre Scarlet. The solitary vampiress with the ability to destroy absolutely anything, regardless of what it might be. A power that said vampiress had used to great effect within recent memory.

Okina made her way to the Scarlet Devil Mansion through a secret backdoor she had placed on Flandre during the last time she had enlisted the girl's help, appearing behind her with a chuckle. It was somewhat dangerous to do such a thing, but Okina Matara knew full well how to deal with such things if a problem arose.

"Oh, Okina, it's you," Flandre said, turning to her with a small grin. "What's up?"

"I have a task for you, that only you can complete," Okina told her with a pleasant smile. "Something I assume you will be very interested in once I tell you."

Flandre gave her a fanged grin, her crystalline wings flapping once as she looked directly at Okina. "Lemme guess, you need something broken again, right?" she asked, tilting her head a little and closing her blood red eyes as she spoke.

"Yes, Flandre," Okina chuckled, adjusting her robes. "There will be plenty of foolish humans with special powers, and all of them are being controlled by the Entities and their Shards, in some attempt to invade us and study our abilities for themselves from what we have deduced."

"That's pretty rude of them," Flandre stated. "Can I break them?"

"Why yes of course," Okina grinned. "The entire mission I wish to send you on, is to gather information on these Entities, and then proceed to break every last one of them before they can break us. Are you interested in such a thing?"

Flandre nodded, adjusting her hat while she looked at Okina with excitement in her eyes, "Sure. Sounds more fun than just sitting in my room all day."

"Excellent, because I have already deduced the perfect place to send you to start your investigation," Okina explained with a smile.

"Oh? Where's that?" Flandre asked with unhidden curiosity in her voice.

"A smaller, run-down city in America known as Brockton Bay," Okina grinned. "I hope you don't mind, but I'll be sending Yukari to give you the ability to speak the language the moment she's free, as I'm about to be very busy myself soon."

"Alright, when do I start?" Flandre asked.

"The moment you walk through your bedroom door," Okina chuckled. "Good luck."

With that, she left Flandre to deal with what may come all on her own for the time being. After all, no matter how childish Flandre may look, she was still a competent individual within her own specialties.

Endbringer Sirens blared, the stars in his head slowly fading as the terrifying hat lady pushed him further and further, hunting him in the streets and causing him to grow more and more devastated and angry.

Shots rang out. An eye, an arm, various pieces of his body were taken out and regrown minutes later as he tried to escape.

Kenta felt the rain turning sharp, tearing into his insides as he was forced towards the beast, the Leviathan that was terrorizing his country. Very well, if he was to die, to fight this Endbringer in a one on one battle and end up simply pasted for his efforts, then he would fight valiantly, and be known as the Dragon of Kyushu.

He would remove his fears, his doubts, he would burn them all away. It was inevitable, he would lose. But he would be feared, for stalling the beast for long enough to—

"Are you an Entity?" a little girl called out to the beast, all the water pausing as it looked at her with an intense gaze.

"No, child, get away from there! The Endbringer will kill you!" Kenta called out to her, trying desperately to put himself in harms way so that she might be spared.

"Meh, I've seen worse," the child claimed, grinning as she held out her hand. "So, if that's an Endbringer… I wonder how long it will last?"

"What—" Kenta asked before the girl raised her hand, a red energy forming inside it until it formed an orb.

"Hehe, I got your eye~" she claimed, crushing the energy just as the Leviathan began to move.

With that, the Leviathan exploded, sending Kenta flying backwards and knocking him unconscious from the blast.

"Heh, that wasn't even as strong as Yuuma~"

The last words he heard from the terrifying child before he passed out were barely registered, but he acknowledged them all the same.

Contessa's Path hiccupped. Leviathan was removed from play, and Kyushu was still relatively intact. It completely changed the entire game.

She looked at the girl, her mind whirring with possibilities as she reached out and smiled. "Path to Alliance with that girl…"

Contessa paused, waiting for a new path to show up as the girl looked at her with a smirk. Nothing.

A cold sweat ran down her neck.

Her power wasn't responding. And she couldn't understand what the girl was saying.

How could she respond? What was she supposed to say? Why couldn't she access her power?

Her shard was no longer working. It didn't tell her what she needed to do to fix this. Was it broken? Did it leave her?

No. This couldn't be happening! She didn't know how to function without—

The girl laughed at her a little, shrugged, and left her alone to shiver in the rain.

Ozi: Hi, I commissioned this fic because Kitsu needed the money. Initially I didn't really expect much from the fic because it's just Flan roaming around in Worm doing Flan things, but the writing was smooth, and it went better than I expected.

Kitsu: I had fun writing this, especially writing Okina Matara. She was basically straight up butter melting off my fingers and all over my keyboard with how smooth it was and easy it was writing her.

I had a hell of a lot of fun with her. And with Flandre, I honestly just based her on an old character Ozi had made, and went ham with it based on what little knowledge I have.

Kenta was an easy one as well, but I realized soon that uh, Flan's power causes shit to pop, and there was a lot of mass there to just pop.

Suffice to say, there will be a lot of Tsunami for a while in the pacific, and a new crater off the coast of Japan. But all things said and done, actually pretty chill in comparison to Worm canon.

As you can tell, this is an AU. That is deliberate.

The world of Worm was split into multiple variants by the Shard Network iirc, which caused Magor Divergences™ in the Touhou timeline, and things like the Lunarians of Earth bet being actually pretty hostile still.

So yes, shit got fucked up, and Gensokyo had literally one option to send to solve the problem. Enter Flandre Scarlet. Exit Stage Left Leviathan.

Welp, here's hoping this will continue soon. Because I think it could be great.

And hey, if you liked this, toss cash me way so I can eat better food! Plz do feed the foxxo!

Outline: We did our best to follow thee!

  1. Okina decides to send Flandre to deal with the Interdimensional Space Whales that are trying to invade the world outside Gensokyo.
    1. She can't send Reimu. Reimu is busy dealing with the moon and Lunarians causing shenanigans again.
    2. She can't send Marisa. Marisa is busy dealing with the events of Touhou 18.5 for the Unconnected Marketeers Game shenanigan.
i. Basically, a black market popped up, and she be investigating it.
ii. Magic cards are increasing in popularity.
  1. Can't send Sanae, because she managed to get sick when using her powers to deal with an incident with Cirno freezing frogs again, and wasn't able to do much more than cough and sniffle in bed when Okina visited.
  2. The other Sages and their Familiars are all busy with Sakuya trying to run counter offensives against the Shard Network that keeps trying to invade them.
  3. So she fucking sends in the WMD.
i. Enter Flandre Scarlet.
  1. Flandre destroys Leviathan because it looked like one of those entities Okina told her to investigate and break
    1. Lung pov?
    2. PRT freaking about Flandre being Flandre
    3. Contessa tries to PTV Flandre, suddenly finds PTV not working

Rebecca Costa-Brown felt as though she was being run ragged these days.

This little girl… She was the most annoying and worrying thing that she had ever had to deal with, due to how if anyone used their powers on her, they would be entirely depowered. Something she could not afford herself, as she would certainly immediately die if it was used on her.

Not to mention she couldn't exactly be Alexandria if she was unpowered, which meant that people would soon find out that the body double she had was not truly her. Which would be rather unfortunate, especially if the PRT was to function effectively in any way.

In any case, she had a meeting with the Directors, and one of the more insistent ones was doing their best to annoy her into letting him have control of WEDGDG for the purposes of tracking this blonde girl for some reason, despite all the evidence they had collected that using any thinker power on the girl at all caused said power to simply cease all functions.

Of course, it was up to her to explain to the idiots, that mundane methods did indeed exist, and that Parahumans were more than likely going to need to be excluded from such an endeavor. Which meant normal, unpowered, mundane people using drones would be their best bet.

As she opened the door to the meeting room, she noted that all of the directors besides Tagg had already been seated or were there remotely, waiting for her to arrive. Which was odd, because she had told them that the meeting started in ten minutes from then.

"Ah, Chief Director. We were wondering if you'd show up at all," Director Armstrong sighed. "When Tagg let us know you'd be starting the meeting two hours early, we had to rush a little to get here in time."

"… I did not schedule the meeting two hours early. Why did Tagg call everyone in early, and what has he been discussing with all of you?" Rebecca asked with a sharp glance towards each of them, noting how eerily still they all sat.

"He told us that you'd be stepping down, and instating him as the new Chief Director, isn't that right Alexandria?" Director Casanova claimed with a smirk from her place via video call.

"What?" Alexandria asked, stepping backwards through the door, watching as a perfect clone of her looked at her with a dangerous smirk.

"Don't worry, we'll take good care of the place while you're away," the woman told her in her own voice. "So play nice and we'll let you retire peacefully, with honors."

Alexandria paled. How had this happened? What was even going on at this point?

"We will discuss further plans soon, Alexandria," the clone of her grinned.

This, was not part of the plan.

Accord was a very impatient man. He was well aware of this fact, and was quick to point out any flaws a man had and how many. Yet he knew that there was one person in this world, one tiny little girl who would casually wreck any of his plans to achieve world peace, through means that she had no right to be using.

The destruction of parahuman powers. Their entire removal from the humans as they used them on her or in her presence.

It was like she thought it was a game. Like people were her toys, and that she was quite allowed to ruin the best laid plans of better men for the sake of her own childish fun.

It was not something he would allow any further.

He dialed a number he knew very well. The number of the Yangban leader.

It was picked up after exactly three rings, as expected. "I have a contractual proposition for you," Accord told him as soon as he picked up.

"Good," the voice claimed. "Tell me more."

"The Girl of Destruction," Accord claimed. "I want her dead. Five hundred million to the group that completes the job first."

"Consider it done," the voice claimed.

He hung up. And then he dialed another number.

This was repeated several times.

When he was done, he smirked. Surely, with so many parahuman groups coming after her, she would be easily dealt with.

All he had to do was wait.

While the people in the outside world were rebuilding, Flandre Scarlett had taken to helping in any way she could.

From rescuing a child lost in an abandoned building, to keeping three tough looking guys from taking a girl away to do something she didn't want to do, she was pretty much doing her best to make sure she intercepted the Entities and helped with as many people as she could. Hey, if it worked, it worked. And so far, with how many of those "Parahumans" had been throwing themselves at her like they wanted to die, she thought it was working pretty well…

Case in point, the most recent ones. "Hey, you know if you fight me in a tin can like that, you're just gonna look like canned soup to me, right?" she asked with a small grin. "I tried that once, some of the human villages back in Gensokyo used to have some in the markets from time to time."

"What?" the human inside asked, as though he wasn't about to be popped when he tried to fight her.

"Seriously, you should probably back off if you don't wanna die," she warned him politely, his strange halo around his armor glowing as his buddies tried to close in.

"The only one who is dying is you!" he claimed, reaching out and firing a laser at her.

But it was sooo sloooow. She dodged it with barely any effort at all…

And with that out of the way… "Welp, guess it's my turn," she told him, firing a fairly basic array of Danmaku at him and his friends. Something to entertain them and maybe make them back off properly.

Unfortunately, judging by the way they were all smacked around by basic Danmaku, they were literally the weakest babies ever!

"You know what?" Flandre asked, lowering her arms as another set of these parahumans came in to fight her. "You're all so pathetic, so you can all just die."

With those words, she clenched her sword, Leviathan, and simply burned them all to ash.

"Heh, not worth my time," she grunted, and went back to looking for more people that actually needed her help.

After all, Parahumans were useless at this kind of thing.

"Accord," the secretary gulped, holding out a landline cordless phone. "It's for you."

"… Bring it here," he said with a twitch of his eye, and she did so.

When he answered the phone, he knew exactly what had happened all at once.

"You owe me a debt, Accord," the man claimed, "As of now, due to you having all of my men killed, I am taking over your operations in Boston, including you. You will comply."

"Yes, Zero," Accord replied automatically, though his voice was not controlled by his own will.

"Good, now tell me, how do I kill this girl?" he asked with an edge in his voice.

Accord's power operated for all of a second, before it ceased to be. With that, a bullet was put in his head as the voice on the other end of the line growled at the failure.

~~~~
"Well, that was strange," Flandre noted. "It came from that way, so I guess I'll go check it out?"
Kitsu: Dun dun duuuuuuun. And that's how Flandre decided to get to America and check that place out.
Ozi: This was a fun chapter, a lot of escalation being destroyed if you know what I mean.
Kitsu: Yup. And what was this? A sub plot going on with the PRT? Sounds like an incident to me.
Ozi: Quick, send Reimu... Oh wait, she's busy with the Lunarians. Welp, guess Flan would have to do for now.
Kitsu: Welp, should only probably be a few more chapters, but here's hoping it's as fun as I think it will be!
Plz support me buying food and stuff! https://aikoakiyoshi.carrd.co/
Outline: We'll get to it soon.
  • Confused PRT noises.
  • Flan is an anomaly to them, and nothing they try to do to get info on her works. In fact, that's a quick way to depower their thinkers.
  • They try to find a way to document her power, and find that only mundane tech will work. Because tinker tech used against her turns off and falls apart, and the parahuman who made them legit just stops having a power.
  • The Elite and especially Accord are very worried about Flandre doing her thing, as they have lost several thinkers.
  • Accord quickly realizes he can't use his power if she's alive, so sends a tip to the Yangban about her, and offers a huge sum of money for her head to them, the Dragonslayers, and even the Fallen.
  • Every single one of those people, parahuman or not, have their ways to track her destroyed.
  • As a result, Dragon no longer has a Shard, and accidentally gets freed from Ascalon, but she's also perfectly fine in spite of this. Which means a full on reboot, and then she becomes a freed AI.
  • Cue fucking panic as Dragon, now that she's free, helps Flandre capture the depowered Yangban, Dragonslayers, and Elite. The Fallen, however, mentally break and commit suicide way too fast.
  • Yangban tells Accord that they will no longer work with him, because they lost several of their high-level Parahumans trying to help him out by doing the job.
  • They also tell him that he needs to pay them back by getting them more Parahumans, or else they'll come to collect.
Destruction of Escalation 03:
Flan had finally reached this kinda strange place called "America" on her way to find out what and who was trying to send these Parahumans at her for some strange reason.
It was a land filled with greasy food and even greasier humans, along with a lot more Parahumans who wished to play with her. Case in point, the sobbing mess on the floor of her resting place that thought it was a great idea to blow a hole in the wall mid-day.
"The Butcher will kill you for this!" the woman, Vex or something told her with a screech.
Flan sighed, waving her off. It wasn't fun playing with morons.
"I highly doubt she can," Flandre explained as though she was talking to a particularly childish fairy. "And if she somehow manages it, I won't be dead for long anyways. I'm a bit too important to the Sage's current plans for that."
"You'll regret ever coming to Boston!" the whining brat screamed, before running off into the brightly lit streets, mask hanging half-way off her face like some sort of circus clown.
Speaking of clowns, this entire country reminded her of Clownpiece for some strange reason, and she couldn't quite put a finger on why. Must have been the flag…
Still, she wondered what this so called—
The wall was filled with bullets, and she was outside of their range immediately. Unfortunately, that meant she had to be out in the sun.
"Hahaha! Your power will be mine!" the man outside screeched, his arms bulging as he fired more and more bullets from his gatling gun.
…Which she dodged before he could really even fully fire, and pretty much no-sold when she broke his gun with a kick.
"What! How could this be!" he asked, teleporting away in a ball of fire.
"Haaaaa, just hold still while I destroy your power too…" Flandre groaned, not finding anything remotely fun about having to deal with people so dead set on killing her for no real discernable reason.
After a moment, it dawned on her what that reason might be. "Wait, are you all just trying to hunt me because I'm a vampire?" she asked with a tilt of her head.
"Vampire? You look like a little girl trying to play at being a Halloween decoration!" the Parahuman yelled, trying to inflict pain on her directly.
It might have worked, honestly… But she simply reached out and broke his power for his efforts.
And then, as if a puppet with it's strings cut, the man collapsed into a sobbing wreck.
"The voices… they're gone!" he cried like a baby. "I-I— Am I finally free?" he asked, his hands shaking as his body slowly shrunk to a more normal looking office worker build.
"Wait, what?" she asked, making her way over to him. "Are you okay Mister?"
"I… I haven't felt so normal in years…" he stated, almost as if in disbelief.
"Uh, your welcome I guess?" she asked, not really sure how to take the realization she had just received.
These… parasites… They could control the people they gave powers to? That was kinda sad.
The man broke down into incoherent sobbing, and she could feel a trickle of faith coming to her from him. It was apparently enough of an act of kindness for her to kill his power, that he had begun to worship her like one might a god.
"Uh, okay?" she asked. "I hope you get better soon guy…"
With that, she flew away and finally settled on her course of action.
She would kill all the parasites. Because this was not okay.
~~~~
Yukari yawned. "It is certainly tiring to have to deal with the fools at the PRT, isn't it, Nue?" Yukari asked, her eyelids drooping as she dealt with the pain in her neck that was the fools interfering with the outside world.

"Lady Yukari?!" the 'Alexandria Clone' reared back in fright. "Lady Byakuren said you might come, but I didn't think it would be so soon!"

"… I don't like what you're doing," Yukari told her bluntly, her fan coming up to cover her face and hide her frown. "But I can understand that introducing more faith into the gods is needed to keep Gensokyo's barrier strong in the first place, and it would be a trifling matter for me to simply extend the barrier a smidge and allow these immigrants to join our slice of fantasy."

She chuckled, and the fan snapped shut. "Don't mistake my inaction for approval. Just know that I will be watching and ensuring nothing happens to… slip out of its place."

Nue gulped. "Got it!" she claimed, but then paused for a moment. "Wait, isn't the barrier based on disbelief?"

"Disbelief from external sources yes," Yukari nodded slowly. "But not from internal ones. If the barrier itself was not believed in in the first place, how could the magic holding it up exist?"

"Wut?" Nue asked, not understanding the concept in the slightest.

"This is indeed all the time I have for the moment," Yukari sighed. "I have to find out what Ran is doing with the poor girl she has collected in her spare time. What was her name again…? Fortuna?"

Nue shrugged. "Beats me."

"Regardless, I will be checking in from time to time, and keeping several eyes on you and your plans while I am away," Yukari stated with a tone of finality, her purple eyes staring deep into Nue's soul.

After she disappeared through her Gap, Nue shivered. "Yikes… That was terrifying."

"Who was that, Alexandria?" director Tagg asked with a look of confusion.

"No one important, go back to counting your Cheetos," Nue told him.

"Yes, Alexandria," Director Tagg sighed.

At least this guy was fun to play with?

~~~~
It was almost concerning how well things had followed her desired course of action, in hindsight. Okina Matara was not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but neither was she one to simply ignore the possibility that something might surely be amiss — that something deeper might be afoot than she had calculated for.
Her mind whirled with possibilities, the feeling of uncertainty washing over her like the waves in an unsettled ocean. Yet try as she might, nothing seemed to have been truly out of place.
Not a single thing had failed. Along the paths she had set up for Flandre Scarlett to take, she found absolutely no resistance or deviation that caused her to change tactics or course. Nothing truly seemed capable of doing much of anything to her, in the end.
It was suspicious. Something was entirely off about the situation, and how easy it was for Flandre to deal with the shards.
Where was their sense of wonder? Of imagination? Of faith.
Without such things, they could not have magic. In fact, what they were using felt so lifeless that it may not have been magic at all, regardless of what Yukari thought it might be.
As such — and after having come to such an astute realization — they had zero protections afforded to them, and zero methods to defend from Flandre's power of destruction.
With that settled, she focused on another matter entirely.
Byakuren. An Unexpected ally, but one she could rely on nonetheless. If only because her goals hitched heavily on Okina's own goals succeeding to achieve their full effect.
Her plan, if she was to be honest, was not as flawless as she would like. Okina knew full well just how flimsy it would be if Yukari stepped in to cause any issues for it. She could not let that happen.
It would be tragic if at any moment in the process, Yukari stepped in and kidnapped all of the people with faith and shoved them in Gensokyo. Because if that happened, the world itself would no longer be able to become Gensokyo, but rather there would be a grand feast for the Yokai that Yukari selected, and much more work for that woman's favored pet, Reimu.
Oh sure, Okina knew that Yukari certainly held some form of affection for the girl, but it was bordering on obsession and such things weren't healthy for a sage of her caliber. Why, most of the incidents were caused simply for Yukari's benefit in the end after all…
Or so it seemed. One could never be sure when it came to Yukari's true motives.
Yukari liked her little fiefdom far too much to just let it go so easily. In fact, Okina wouldn't put it past Yukari to have set up events long ago for humanity to eventually lose faith in the supernatural deliberately for the sake of ensuring that her sanctuary came to be.
Such a manipulative woman could easily do such a thing, even if she was rather slothful at times.
Truly, she should count her blessings while they last. For if what she had on her mind came to pass…
She had no idea what sort of disaster Yukari might bring down upon them for trying to spread faith back to the world.
Ozimyy: And thus, the plot thickens. And oh no, Flan is now convinced that she has to destroy shards. This would certainly rub the parahumans the wrong way, oh well. This was honestly a fun chapter, I really liked it.
Kitsu: I certainly flagged a little because Flandre isn't having fun, and I really wanted to show that but wasn't the best at showing that off in my opinion, but I hope it wasn't too awkward and stilted like I thought it was trying to go through it.
It was not my best work, I'll admit, but at least it came out okay if the commissioner liked it?
Ozimyy: I felt like this chapter was more of a politically focused chapter over an action-oriented one anyways, but the action wasn't that bad. It felt appropriate to me, more to set up a motive really and have Flan stop being a passive character and become more of an active one. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this chapter.
Kitsu: Indeed.
Thanks for reading and stay fluffy! 🦊
  • The Butcher finds out about Flan.
  • Flan just destroys their shard, leaving a sobbing mess on the ground that basically thanks her for saving them, causing Flan to realize that "Oh, these parasites are pretty bad news huh."
  • Cue Flandre going hunting for more of these parasites. Because now she just kinda feels bad, and wants to help.
  • Yukari side plot?
  • She's there to stop the world from trying to poke at Gensokyo's barrier
  • Classic Yukari manipulation means she is now controlling the PRT covertly
  • Okina watching Flan in action
  • Everything is going to plan, after all the more Flan destroys shards the more headlines she'd create. And headlines mean faith, which means the outside world (Earth Bet) becomes more friendly to the residents of Gensokyo
  • Okina comments that Yukari would be against what she's doing, and prepares to make moves in case she tries to do anything. Knowing Yukari, she loves Gensokyo too much to let the barrier go, even if the outside world is Gensokyo like.
Ozimyy be doing Aussie Art things: New
Hey, Ozimyy here. Did a few sketches for chapter 1. It was pretty fun to draw these for the story, Flandre was a little complicated but I feel like it was worth it in the end. I will be doodling for other chapters if you are interested.
I did mess up drawing Leviathan initially so I had to add in some extra details since the original was a little more extreme then I intended. The redness in the Leviathan pic was supposed to be Flan's energy, not blood... But, well. You'll see what I mean when you see the spoiler image...
