Digimon 5D's: Digital Synchronization

A pair of blue eyes slowly opened as a boy with black hair styled like a crab with yellow streaks, slightly tan skin, and dressed in a dirty dark blue hoodie, white pants, and black shoes woke up. "Where…?" He said to himself as he yawned.

"What is this place?" another boy asked as he, too, woke up, his purple eyes opening up. His hair was blonde and spiky, and he wore a white jacket with a sky blue hoodie under it. He also wore jeans and black shoes.

"Oi, Yusei, Jack, are we having the same dream?" A boy, who looked a year younger than the two boys, asked. This boy had spiky orange hair, steel grey eyes, and olive skin. He wore a viridian headband on his head, a yellow tank top, a brown sleeveless vest, blue jean shorts, and white-yellow shoes.

"It feels too real, Crow." A fourth boy said. This one had medium-length black hair with several snow white bangs framing his forehead, while his ocean blue eyes looked around. He wore a red shirt with a black jacket as well as navy blue jeans and white sneakers.

"Leo, you're here too?" The orange-haired boy, Crow, pondered.

"Where… am I?" a fifth voice said. This time, it was a girl. She had burgundy-red hair, brown eyes, and fair skin. She wore a pink shirt with a salmon-colored skirt and pink slippers. "Who are all of you?" she asked when she noticed the four boys.

"I'm Yusei." The crab-haired boy greeted the girl. He gestured to his friends. "This is Jack, Crow, and Leo."

"Charmed." The blonde, Jack, nodded.

"Yo!" Crow greeted with a big grin.

"Hello," Leo greeted with a smile. "What's yours?"

The girl blushed shyly since she had never been around other kids her age. "M-My name's Aki…"

"Aki. Aki-chan. Okay." Leo nodded.

"Rua, where are we?" Yet another voice said. The four boys and lone girl turned to the source and saw two kids who were about half their age, at least six, and they were fraternal twins, no less, one boy and one girl. They had similar hair colors that seemed to be turquoise blue, and their eyes were golden yellow. However, the boy had a single ponytail while the girl had two pigtails. The boy wore a blue shirt, white shorts, and blue sneakers. The girl wore a pink sundress and white slippers.

"No idea, Ruka. Hey, do any of you big kids know where we are?" The boy asked.

"We don't know ourselves." Yusei shook his head.

"We all just woke up, wherever this place is," Jack added.

"Looks kinda like a forest to be honest," Crow said while scratching his head.

"What's… wrong with the sky?" Aki asked aloud as the kids looked up at the sky… and noticed several glowing circuit lines running along the sky.

"This… can't be Satellite," Jack said with growing unease.

"Oh no! Aliens have abducted us!" Crow panicked.

*BONK!*

"OW!"

"Bakayaro! Calm down!" Leo snapped after bopping him on the head. "Let's all think for a moment."

"Hey! What are all of you?" A new voice called out. The kids turned to the source of the voice and noticed… a white-furred hedgehog-looking creature. "Are you na ew Digimon?"

"Ahhhhhh! It talked!" Rua freaked out as he hid behind his sister.

"W-Why are you hiding behind me?" Ruka stuttered, confused, but also scared.

Aki stared at the creature, who stared back at her. It blinked once. Twice. Three times. "What?" It asked in a childish voice.

"What… are you?" Aki asked.

"What am I? I'm a Digimon. Herissmon is my name." The creature answered with a smile.

"A… Digimon?" Leo asked, kneeling on one knee at its level.

"That's right. Digimon. Digital Monsters."

"Wait, so we're inside a video game?!" Crow gawked.

*BONK!*

"OW!"

"Obviously not," Jack said, after he bopped him on the head with a fist of his own. "You need to stop watching so many sci-fi movies."

"Are there more of you?" Yusei asked Herissmon.

"Yeah, there are a lot of us! My friends are here too." Herissmon answered.

"Friends?" Ruka pondered.

"Yeah, Digimon like me!" Herissmon then turned around. "Hey guys! Come on out! We have new friends!"

"You sure, Herissmon? They look kinda weird." A new voice called out from the woods before out came what looked like a small dragon Digimon that looked like a blue lizard with red eyes. There is ice covering the head, tail, claws, and feet. There is also ice protruding on its back that looks like small wings. It has white fur covering the neck and chest, which makes it resemble a fur collar winter coat, and bandages wrapped around the forearms. It also has three white hexagon symbols on its shoulders and back.

"Hey, we're not weird! You're weird!" Rua childishly shouted.

"My name isn't weird. It's Bulucomon." The blue dragon stated.

"Calm yourself, Bulucomon. They are only children." A female voice spoke before a bipedal fox-like Digimon appeared. Most of its body is covered in yellow fur, save for the tips of its tail and ears, underbelly, hands, and legs from the knees down, and the purple Cancer symbols on its thighs. It also has wing-like tufts of yellow fur on its shoulders and a large, mane-like tuft of white fur on its chest. It wears purple sleeves that cover its forearms with yin-yang symbols on the back of the hands. It has three-clawed fingers on its hands and three-clawed toes on its feet. It has black eyes with indigo pupils.

"Renamon," Bulucomon said with a grumbling pout. "Can't you give me a break?"

"No. Vorvomon, Lalamon, Jazamon, Falcomon, keep up now." Renamon called out behind her. Appearing out of the woods were four other Digimon.

"Yeah, yeah, we're coming. Hold yer fox tail will ya?" The first one said, this Digimon was dragon-like and is made entirely out of black rock, with red gem-like tips for its claws, tusks, and the jewel on its chest. It breathed a brief snort of fire from its mouth as its yellow eyes locked on the humans.

"I hope they're nice." A soft-spoken voice came from the second one. This Digimon looked like a flowering bud. It had a green body with stretchy arms and legs, a pink head with a yellow leaf on top, and eyes and a mouth that resembled three black dots. It flies by, lightly spinning its leaf.

"They look kind of scary, " the third one said timidly. This Digimon looked like a machine-like bird with dragon qualities. It had a metal body with cyan blue circuitry and red eyes.

"Scary? Nah! Weird, maybe, but not scary." The fourth and final Digimon grinned widely. This Digimon looked like a great horned owl with a small, toothless beak, red eye markings, dark brown body feathers, and purple chest feathers with shuriken markings resembling a ninja's vest. The tips of its brow feathers and claws are purple, while its tail feathers and the markings on the ends of its wings are red.

"Whoa, they look so cool…" Crow said with wide eyes and a bright smile.

"Oh, so now you're not weirded out." Jack rolled his eyes.

"They seem friendly." Yusei smiled a bit, kneeling on one knee in front of Bulucomon. "You said your name is Bulucomon, right?"

"That's my name. Who are you? More importantly, what are you?" The blue dragon asked.

"I'm Yusei. And all of us… We're humans." Yusei answered. "You don't mind, do you?"

"Well, considering you are the first humans we met, no," Bulucomon replied with a grin. "Wanna be friends?"

Yusei smiled, "Sure."

Jack stood across from Vorvomon, "So… you're some kind of dragon Digimon?"

Vorvomon nodded, "Yep, but I can't fly for a long time. I can only glide."

"Well, you do look like a kid." Jack pointed out.

"So you're a bird?" Crow asked the horned owl Digimon.

"Well, my name is Falcomon," Falcomon replied. "You're not the smartest human, are you?"

"You calling me dumb, pal!?" Crow exclaimed in annoyance.

"Oh, so you figured that out," Falcomon said.

Lalamon floated in front of Aki, "Hi there! I'm Lalamon, I hope we can be great friends."

"Um, I'm Aki. It's nice to meet you, Lalamon." Aki said shyly.

"Aki. I like that name!" Lalamon beamed happily.

Rua looked at Jazamon with wide eyes. "You look so cool! Are you a robot bird?" he asked in awe.

"Whaddya think, kid?" Jazamon retorted. "Does the metal body and me looking like a bird not obvious enough for ya?"

"Huh? I thought you were shy. Then that means I can pet ya!" Rua reached out to touch the mechanical bird dragon.

"Hey, no touchin'!" Jazamon said, trying to bite Rua's hand, which retracted back.

"Jazamon, be nice to our new friends." Renamon scolded, before looking at Rua and Ruka. "I'm sorry about that, you two. He's a bit of a hothead when it comes to someone touching him."

"He was invading my personal space." Jazamon argued, though it was a weak one at that.

"You could've said so." Rua deadpanned.

Ruka looked at Renamon, who stared back at her. "Your fur looks really soft."

"You can touch my tail if you want." Renamon offered as she slowly swung her tail over for Ruka to touch.

The little girl almost looked nervous, but she slowly reached out to touch it. "Whoa… so soft…" She murmured before suddenly lying on the tail. "It's like my pillow but ten times better~"

Renamon blushed with embarrassment. "Thank you, " she told Ruka, who snuggled deeper into the tail.

"Hey Ruka, this is no time to be sleeping." Rua pouted.

"You're just jealous because I got this tail pillow first," Ruka told her twin.

"N-No, I wasn't!"

"Yes, you were!"

"I wasn't!"

"You were!"

"I wasn't!"

"You were!"

"They're kinda weird…" Jazamon muttered to Renamon, watching the two argue.

"I believe this is that… 'sibling relationship' from what I've heard from other Digimon," Renamon told Jazamon.

"Why do they look alike, though?" Jazamon questioned.

"Twins?"

"Really?" Jazamon looked at the siblings with scrutinizing eyes, "Mmmmm… I ain't buyin' it. There's gotta be a difference between these two."

"Besides them being different genders?" Renamon raised a brow.

"Never mind…"

"So… you're Herissmon," Leo said, staring at the Digimon before him.

"Yep, that's my name!" Herissmon chirped with excitement.

"And… what exactly can you do?" The young boy asked. "Like spit fire or shoot out electricity or something?"

"I shoot my quills!" Herissmon declared proudly.

"Shoot… your quills." Leo sweat dropped.

"Yeah, wanna see?"

"Uhhhhh…" Leo said, thinking about it. "I… guess?"

Herissmon grinned, then took aim at a tree as he flexed his fur. "Lightning Fur!" he said before firing a barrage of quills coated with electricity, which hit the tree and shatter it into splinters.

"Whoa!" Leo cried out in surprise as he fell on his butt. The other kids also looked surprised by what just happened.

"Hey Herissmon, what are you doing?" Bulucomon complained.

"Showing my new friend what I can do." Herissmon replied. "Which is shooting my quills."

"That looked so cool!" Crow smiled widely. "You can shoot your quills! Do it again!"

"Okay!" Herissmon was about to do it again before Renamon quickly clamped his mouth shut with her paw.

"Yeah… let's not." The yellow fox told her friend.

"What about fireballs instead?" Vorvomon asked as his jaws opened, and fire formed in his mouth. Renamon clamped his mouth shut, too.

"No…"

"How about-" Jazamon was about to say but Renamon looked at him with a stoic glare. "I'm gonna shut up now."

"Well, anyway, what do we do now?" Yusei asked. But before they could answer, a faint buzzing was heard in the distance.

"What's that noise?" Rua asked aloud.

"Something is wrong." Renamon frowned. "Children, get behind us!"

"What? Why?" Jack asked, with a raised eyebrow.

Herissmon's ears raised up in warning, "A dangerous Digimon is coming."

Bulucomon growled, "And it feels strong."

The buzzing grew closer before smashing through the treeline was… a giant green mantis with no eyes and large curved, wicked blades.

"AHHHHH! MONSTER MANTIS!" Crow screamed.

"That's Snimon! A Champion-level Digimon." Falcomon corrected. "His attitude is as wicked as the blades on his arms. Don't be fooled by his lack of eyes, those red antennas on his head can still act as motion sensors."

"Well, well, well, what do we have here?" The big giant mantis Digimon snarled as it sensed the Digimon and children in front of it. "Digimon interacting with these humans?"

"It's going to eat us!" Rua freaked out.

"Fool! I'm not gonna eat you! I have standards!" Snimon countered. "I'm just gonna cut you all to pieces."

"That's not any better!"

"I know but it's fun for me." Snimon snickered sinisterly as he scraped his blades together.

"Not if we have anything to say about it! Lightning Fur!" Herissmon shouted as he fired his electric quills at Snimon. The Champion-Level Digimon merely crossed its blades to block the attack, and the quills shattered into pieces.

"It didn't work?" Yusei gasped.

"Fool! A Rookie-level Digimon could never beat me. Allow me to show you. Twin Sickles!" Snimon swung his sickles, launching two pink crescent beams at the children and Digimon.

"Move!" Bulucomon shouted. Everyone suddenly scattered in different directions as the two crescent beams hit its mark on a tree, thankfully it was strong enough that it wasn't cut in half. "Baby Hail!" Bulucomon exhaled chilled air from its mouth, shooting out countless shards of ice at the mantis Digimon.

"Petit Flame!" Vorvomon joined as he spewed out a small, high-temperature flame from his mouth.

The blasts of ice and fire hit Snimon, not really hurting him but irritating the mantis Digimon. "You little pests!" He snarled as he went in to slash at his prey.

"Run!" Renamon scooped up Rua and Ruka, leaping out of the way.

"Come on!" Bulucomon told Yusei as the Digimon and the children ran for their lives.

"Where do we go?!" Aki cried out.

"Anywhere but here!" Lalamon answered. "We Rookie-Level Digimon don't stand a chance against Champion-Leveled Digimon unless we Digivolve!"

"Digi-what?!" Crow asked.

"It's something Digimon can do to get stronger but we're a long way from Digivolving!" Falcomon explained.

"So for now just keep running!" Vorvomon shouted.

"But we can't keep running forever!" Jazamon cried out as he flapped his wings frantically to escape Snimon's blades.

"Even if you could, it's useless! I'll track you down till the day you die!" Snimon taunted.

Herissmon skidded to a stop as he glared defiantly at the Champion-Level Digimon. "In that case… I'll fight you to protect my human friends!"

"Herissmon!" Leo cried out to the hedgehog Digimon.

"Fool! You cannot stop me!" Snimon chuckled sinisterly as he raised his sickle arms to cut down Herissmon.

"No!" Leo shouted as he stood in front of Herissmon. Suddenly, a bright light shined just before Snimon's blades could hit the boy and the hedgehog Digimon.

"What!?" Snimon exclaimed as the light pushed him back.

When the light dimmed to a lesser extent, it revealed a strange device that resembled a handheld phone mixed with a Duel Disk. The device flew to Leo's hand, who caught it out of surprise.

"What...is this?" Leo pondered in confusion.

The time is now. Awaken your power… My Chosen Ones!

Just like that, six more lights flew from the device, each one being caught by the other children, who were equally surprised, especially when the devices changed color.

Yusei's became silver with cyan and purple highlights.

Jack's was black with red highlights.

Aki's was light red with crimson and black highlights.

Crow's was jet black with orange and dark purple highlights.

Rua's was blue with silver and dark blue highlights.

Ruka's was pink with white and dark rose highlights.

Leo's device had become white with grey and yellow highlights.

"But what am I supposed to-" Leo was cut off when the Deck case hanging from his belt began to release a glow. "My cards…" He opened the case and pulled out a single glowing card, then the boy grinned in realization. "Lucky! Alright then, let's go, Partner! Herissmon!"

The hedgehog Digimon looked at the human that protected him and smiled, "Yeah! Let's go, Leo!"

Both human and Digimon faced down the snarling Snimon. However, before either side could engage in battle…

*Ring* *Ring* *Ring*

An alarm clock rang loudly in a shoddy apartment bedroom, earning a groan of annoyance before a fist slammed the snooze button. "Argh… god damn alarm clock…" A young man growled, struggling to get out of a single-person bed. Removing the sheets and comforter, the young man is revealed to be around seventeen years old with light skin, long raven black hair tied in a low ponytail with several snow white bangs framing his forehead, ocean blue eyes, and a small scar over his left eyebrow.

"And as usual, the same dream that keeps playing in my head for the past five years…" The young man groaned, rubbing his long black hair in annoyance. "Just what the heck is with these weird dreams?" He pondered before glancing over at his desk, which had not only his Duel Monsters Deck but also that same white device from his dream.

He left his bed, dressed only in a pair of white pajama pants, as he walked over to the device and picked it up to examine it. "I still don't know what you are or why I keep having those strange dreams. But somehow, I just can't find it in me to throw you away." The young man looked out his window… to stare at the unsettling ruins of his 'home'. "Another day, another dollar in the Satellite. Wonder what Yusei and the others are up to?"

The young man's gaze landed back to the cards on his desk before they settled on a specific card out of all the others. "What do you think, Partner? You think today might be interesting?"

He received no answer from the card yet the young man could feel the bond he shared with it.

The young man smiled, "Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Well, let's get ready to head out, Partner."

Meanwhile, another teen was working on an important project in an abandoned subway tunnel. He was a young man with tan skin, an average-looking physique, black hair with gold highlights, and royal blue eyes. The upper layer of his hair juts upward while the lower layer arches down. He wears a long-sleeved blue jacket with a high collar and amber gems, over a sleeveless black shirt with a red symbol, and wears gloves below his elbows with an amber gem on them. His lower body consists of black jeans with amber knee pads, a belt with two Deck holsters hidden under his jacket (one for his standard Deck and one for his Riding Duel Deck), and calf-high motorcycle boots.

This was Yusei Fudo.

A long time ago, Yusei had built a D-Wheel to showcase the incredible feeling of Riding Duels to his friends as well as the Monsters that fly by their Duelists' side.

Unfortunately, his D-Wheel and one of his favorite Duel Monster cards were stolen by someone he considered a brother.

Now he was building and tuning up a new D-Wheel to get his card back from his so-called brother. Yet Yusei had a feeling as if he were forgetting something. It probably related to the strange dreams he's been having for the past five years. All of them centered around the strange device he had been carrying for what seemed like forever. For five years, he had tried to examine and study the device but no matter what he tried or learned, it remained a mystery to him so he left it alone yet always carried it with him whenever he wasn't working on his new D-Wheel.

"Oi, Yusei? You down here?" He heard the familiar voice of one of his best friends call from the entrance of the old subway.

"I'm in the usual spot, Leo." Yusei replied.

Entering the old subway was his best friend, Leo Hikaru, who was now dressed in his usual everyday clothes. His casual attire consisted of a dark blue collared jacket with sleeves rolled up above the elbows with black shoulder pads, a black undershirt, a necklace with dog tags, a pair of blue jeans, brown boots, and black fingerless gloves.

"Still building that D-Wheel?" Leo asked.

"Yeah, it's coming along day by day." Yusei replied with a nod. "What about yours?"

Leo grinned, "My D-Wheel is nearly finished. I just need to give it a final tune-up, and my Lucky Streak will be complete!"

"Hm," Yusei nodded as he continued to tune his own D-Wheel. "The time is almost approaching."

"Right. Your reunion with Jack and my chance to escape the Satellite," Leo said, his hands in his pockets.

"Speaking of which, where is your D-Wheel?" Yusei pondered.

"At my secret garage," Leo answered with a shrug.

"I'm surprised you managed to keep that well hidden." Yusei chuckled.

"Well, it is a secret after all," Leo said. "By the way… I had that weird dream again."

"You mean with those weird creatures?" Yusei pondered.

"Yeah…"

"I've been having them too."

Leo looked at his friend in surprise, "Do you… Sometimes, you feel like you're forgetting someone important?"

"Yeah. That too."

"I'm sure Jack and Crow, too, are thinking the same thing." Leo added. "If we're all having the same dream, then this can't be just a mere coincidence."

"Especially if we have these." Yusei brought up his silver device, which prompted Leo to hold up his own white one in response.

"I never did learn what this could do. It almost reminds me of a Duel Disk." Leo checked the strange contraption for a bit.

"Same here. Though I can't open up the device to see its insides." Yusei said, looking at it. "There's no screws or an indent of sorts as to where I could open it."

"Hm…" Leo shuffled his device back into his pocket. "Well, I'd better get to my garage and start tuning up my D-Wheel."

"Are you sure you don't need help or a second opinion?" Yusei asked.

"Nah, I got this one. You just make sure yours is up and running." Leo waved off. "Besides, if need be, my Lucky Streak will bring fortune later on."

"You're always going on that Lady Luck favors you for some reason." Yusei shook his head.

"I can't help it. I've always been lucky at times." The ocean blue-eyed teen shrugged with a grin.

"Well, one of these days, that luck may run out." Yusei cautioned his friend. "So don't rely so much on it."

"We'll see about that, pal." Leo said as he waved his hand. "Tell the guys that I said, hi."

"Sure." Yusei waved back, before Leo made his way out of the abandoned subway.

As Leo traveled his memorized route towards his secret garage, he idly checked out his Deck, rummaging through his cards until he settled on one specific card that he's had for as long as he could remember.

"Well, partner. We're almost out of this place. Just a bit longer, okay? Once I finish my D-Wheel, it's the high life for us." He said to the card with a fond smile.

"Hey, buddy." A voice interjected, prompting Leo to pause in his steps. He looked back to see a ratty-looking man dressed in punk clothes with spiky dark purple hair, brown eyes, and olive skin with yellow markings on his cheeks. "I heard you got a D-Wheel. Care to show me?"

Leo frowned at the punk. "And you're supposed to be?"

"The name is Manic. I used to be a top-rated Duelist back in Neo Domino City before I got sent to the Facility. Now I'm here, scratching a living off rubble. But that D-Wheel you were talking about will get me back to the top." Manic smirked.

"Yeah? Well, I say, buzz off." Leo spat at the punk. "My D-Wheel ain't for sale."

"You sure? Because I might just tell Security. And we both know it ain't gonna be good when they find out you have a D-Wheel."

The boy narrowed his eyes at Manic. "So, blackmailing me, eh?"

"Hey, gotta do what you can to survive, right? That's the rule of the Satellite!"

"Then how about a wager?" Leo offered.

"Huh?"

"I didn't stutter. Let's wager. Let's have a duel. Whoever wins keeps the D-Wheel and the loser keeps his mouth shut."

"Heh, sounds interesting." Manic smirked as he brought up his left arm which had an old model Duel Disk on it. "But I don't see a Duel Disk on you."

"I have a Duel Disk." Leo stated. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the white device he always carried with him then placed it on his arm, which clamped around his wrist. The device expanded until it revealed a touch screen and a Deck Slot then a board of yellow hard light formed from the side. He took his DM Deck and placed it in the Deck Slot, the touch screen lighting up as a Life Point Counter appeared along with a small image of a Dueling Field. "You feeling lucky, punk?"

"What kind of Duel Disk is that!?" Manic questioned in shock.

"Oh, just a little side project that I worked on." Leo said with a smirk.

"The hell it is!" Manic snapped, before pulling his own which was the obsolete Kaiba Corp. Mass Production type.

"True, I didn't even know this thing could be a Duel Disk but Lady Luck never failed me before." Leo admitted. "So, are you ready to Duel?"

"More like ready to throw you to jail!" Manic said, before both players drew their starting Hands.

"DUEL!"

"Ladies first." Leo offered with a smirk. "Unless you wanna let me take the first turn."

"You offered the wager. So you can go." Manic said with a sneer.

"Fine then." Leo looked at his hand then played a card. "I summon Beast of Spades in ATK Mode." Appearing on Leo's Field is a humanoid grey-furred wolfman clad in black armor fashioned like a spade from playing cards and wielding a war hatchet in his right paw-like hand (4/ATK: 1550/DEF: 550). "I activate his effect. When Beast of Spades is Normal or Special Summoned, I can excavate the top two cards from my Deck then add one of them to my hand and return the other to the top of my Deck."

Leo drew his two cards and studied them for a second before taking the left card then added it to his current hand. He placed the remaining card on top. Afterwards, he took a different card from his hand and slotted it into his Duel Disk, leaving his current hand at four. "I'll place one card face down. T-an endo."

"O-re no ta-n!" Manic declared drawing his sixth card. "Hehehe… get ready. You're about to be in for a world of hurt! I summon Machina Soldier in ATK mode!" Appearing on the field was a robot with green armor and one lens of an eye in the middle and it was equipped with a machete-like weapon on its arm. (4/ATK: 1600/DEF: 1500). "And get this. When it's Normal Summoned to the field and I control no other monsters, I can Special Summon a "Machina" Monster from my hand, like this one! Machina Sniper!" Appearing beside Machina Soldier is another robot, except it was taller and had tan armor with two lens eyes and its right arm was replaced by a long-barreled cannon (4/ATK: 1800/DEF: 800).

"Hm, two Level 4 Monsters with higher attack strength than my own. That spells trouble for me." Leo pointed out.

"And it's about to get worse. As long as Machina Sniper is on the Field, you can't touch my other Machina monsters. Now I discard my Machina Air Raider in order to Special Summon the Machina Fortress from my Hand!" Appearing on the Field beside Machina Sniper was a large, pale blue tank-like machine tank treads, two arms, a barely noticeable head, and a railgun fashioned to its left shoulder (7/ATK: 2500/DEF: 1600).

"Hm, three Monsters now. I might actually be in trouble here." Leo said, oddly calm.

"Now I'll activate this Continuous Spell Card! Machina Defense Perimeter!" Manic said, activating said card. "While I control a Level 7 or higher Machine monster, you can't target any Level 6 or lower Machine monsters I control for attacks, and cards can't touch them either!"

"So you blocked me from attacking or getting rid of your Monsters. I'll admit, that's a good play." Leo replied.

"And it's gonna be even better when I win and take your D-Wheel! Battle! Machina Fortress attacks your Beast of Spades!" Manic declared, pointing at it.

The aforementioned machine aimed its railgun at the wolfman. The barrel charged with energy before firing a slug of metal at supersonic speed which tore right through Beast of Spades, who released a pained howl before shattering into yellow particles.

Leo: 3050

Manic: 4000

"Not bad," Leo winced after his Monster's defeat before smirking. "Reverse card, open!" He declared as his facedown card revealed itself, showcasing an image of a card with a Lucky 7. "Luck of the Draw!"

"A Trap?!" Manic exclaimed in surprise.

"That's right. Luck of the Draw activates when a Monster I control is defeated in battle and sent to the Graveyard. By banishing the destroyed Monster, I can draw one card and reveal it. If it's a Monster, I can Special Summon it." Leo explained the effect of his Trap as he removed Beast of Spades from the board and placed it in his Deck Holster then drew his card from his Deck to reveal… "Look at that, a Monster card and it just so happens to be a strong one. I summon the King of Clovers in DEF Mode!"

Appearing on Leo's Field is a giant of a man clad in royal black armor fashioned to resemble a clover with a golden crown on top of his bald head and his long stark grey beard while wielding a giant tower shield with one hand and a sparking warhammer in the other (7/ATK: 100/DEF: 2800). The Clover-based king dropped to one knee, bringing up his shield for defense as his entire body turned several shades of blue.

"Tch, so you got lucky. Big whoop. Ta-n endo." Manic scoffed.

"Boku no T-an! Draw!" Leo drew his next card and looked at it. "I discard one card from my hand…" He took the far left card from his hand and sent it to his Graveyard. "…to Special Summon the Demon of Spades!" He declared, playing his newest card.

Materializing beside the King of Clovers was a dark-skinned demon with dark chains wrapped around its forearms and a chest plate with a Spades symbol emblazoned on its surface (5/ATK: 2100/DEF: 400).

"Next, I'll switch King of Clovers into ATK Mode." Leo said, switching his kneeling king to stand ready for battle.

"Either you're legit stupid or deaf. I told you that you can't touch any of my Machine monsters! Not with what I have set up!"

"True, your Spell stops my Monsters from attacking or using any card effects on them… but your Spell never said anything about preventing effects on it." Leo pointed out before taking the center card from his hand. "I activate, Mystical Space Typhoon! This card allows me to destroy one Spell or Trap on the Field! Guess which one I pick."

"WHAT?!" Manic shouted as a gust of wind picked up and shattered the card into pixels.

"Now nothing is stopping me from taking down your Monsters. Battle! Demon of Spades attacks Machina Sniper! Misfortune Chaos!" Leo commanded as the demon released a roar and threw its chains at Machina Sniper, ensnaring the machine as waves of purple electricity flooded into it before it exploded from the feedback.

Leo: 3050

Manic: 3700

"Che… so what? You can't destroy my other Monsters with that Clover King of yours!"

"Actually, I can. Because my King of Clovers has a useful ability. You see, when he battles, he can switch his ATK and DEF power." Leo explained.

"He what?!" Manic snapped.

"Battle! King of Clovers attacks Machina Fortress! Stalwart Thunder!" Leo declared as the Clover King roared while his ATK and DEF switched (ATK: 100 - 2800/DEF: 2800 - 100) then he swung his lightning-charged hammer down upon Machina Fortress, crushing the machine's head in as it sparked a few times before exploding.

Leo: 3050

Manic: 3400

"I place one card face down. T-an endo." Leo said, finishing his turn. "Your move."

"O-re no ta-n!" Manic shouted, drawing his next card. "I play Card of Sanctity! This lets both of us draw until we have six cards in our Hand!" He said, before both Duelists did as the card instructed. "I set one Monster face-down in DEF mode and then switch Machine Soldier to DEF mode as well." He said, and the green robot knelt on one knee while crossing its arms while turning blue. "Then I'll place two cards face-down. Ta-n endo."

"Boku no T-an! Draw!" Leo declared, drawing his seventh card. "Since I control a Spades Monster, I can Special Summon from my hand the Knight of Spades in ATK Mode!"

After playing the card, a new Monster appeared beside Demon of Spades. It was a young man with dark grey hair, emerald eyes, and pale skin while clad in black knight armor themed after Spades and wielded a longsword and kite shield (4/ATK: 1700/DEF: 800).

"Then I summon Knight of Diamonds, also in ATK Mode." Leo added, playing another card as an older knight clad from head to toe in dark red and white armor with Diamond symbols emblazoned on the chest plate while wielding a halberd and a small round shield (3/ATK: 900/DEF: 600).

"Che, not much of a strong Monster if you ask me." Manic scoffed.

"Oh, but that's where you're wrong." Leo smirked.

"What are you talking about?" Manic looked at him in confusion.

"Knight of Diamonds is a Tuner Monster." Leo stated.

"It's a what?!" Manic gawked. "You mean-!"

"That's right. I'll tune my Level 4 Knight of Spades with my Level 3 Knight of Diamonds!" Leo declared as the Knight of Diamonds gave a salute before turning into three Synchro Gates. The Knight of Spades flew into the Synchro Gates, becoming an orange outline of itself and becoming four stars of light before lining up in the tunnel of rings and vanished into a pillar of light.

"The wheels of fortune call upon a noble hero! Emblazoned with infinite potential! Synchro Summon! Come forth, Black Joker Knight!"

Emerging from the pillar of light is a black mechanical armored knight with a Joker symbol emblazoned on its shoulders and its streamlined head possessing a smooth white faceplate, a golden head crest, and shining green eyes while wielding a two-handed sword with glowing green edges (7/ATK: 2300/DEF: 1200)

"No way! You got a Synchro Monster?!" Manic shouted.

"I got a lot more where that came from. But first, let's take care of your barrier monsters." Leo said with a smirk. "Battle! King of Clovers attacks Machina Soldier! His special effect activates, switching his ATK and DEF!" At his declaration, the Clover King raised up his warhammer and charged at his foe to crush them.

"Activate trap card! Negate Attack! This ends your Battle Phase right now!" Manic countered.

Before the King of Clovers could hit Machina Soldier, a barrier stopped him, forcing the warrior to return to Leo's Field.

"Well, I can't get everything. I place one card face down. T-an endo." Leo declared as a facedown card appeared beside his first one.

"O-re no ta-n!" Manic declared, drawing his next card. He then chuckled at what he drew. "Perfect. First, I activate my face-down, Call of the Haunted! This card will let me revive my Machina Sniper!" He said, as the tan-robot with the shoulder-mounted rifle returned to the field. "Next I Flip Summon my face-down Monster, Machina Defender!" Appearing beside Machina Sniper is a heavily-armored blue tank-like machine with dual missile launchers (4/ATK: 1200/DEF: 1800).

"And what will that do?" Leo pondered.

"It's effect let's me add a card from my Deck. A particular one called Commander Covington!" Manic declared as his Deck shuffled before jetting out a card that the punk snagged and revealed.

"Okay, I suddenly have a bad feeling." Leo commented.

"Next, I summon my newly acquired Commander Covington in ATK Mode!" Manic declared.

Appearing on Manic's Field is a humanoid machine with salmon-red armor that resembles a military officer. Its face strangely resembles an old video game character (4/ATK: 1000/DEF: 600).

"And now that I have them on my Field, I'll Tribute all of them in order to Special Summon my Machina Force from my Deck in ATK mode!" Without warning, Sniper, Soldier, and Defender crackled with electricity before floating up and separating themselves into many parts much like the Magnet Warriors. They then reassembled themselves into one large robot where the head was Soldiers while gaining Defender's rocket launchers on its shoulders and the rifle was added to its hand. Commander Covington then jumped up and the chest on the large robot opened up, revealing the cockpit before it went in the chest piece closed. It readied its weapon as it towered over Leo and his Monsters (10/ATK: 4600/DEF: 4100).

"Whoa… that thing is big." Leo commented with awe.

"You think that's impressive, just wait until it blows the living crap out of your knight, but first I have to give up 1000 Life Points to do that!"

Leo: 3050

Manic: 2400

"Battle! Machina Force attacks Black Knight Joker! Machina Barrage!" Manic shouted. The large robot's eye lens glowed, Covington, being inside the cockpit aimed with the computer's assistance before it pressed the button and the rocket launchers flew out of the shoulders while firing multiple rounds from its gun. The Black Knight Joker tried to defend himself with his weapon before it shattered him into pixels.

Leo: 650

Manic: 2400

"Ta-n endo." Manic smirked. "Just one more turn, and that D-Wheel is mine and you're not gonna do squat about it!"

"The Duel isn't over until the last card is drawn. C'mon Lady Luck, don't fail me now. Boku no T-an! Draw!" Leo declared, drawing his card. As he took a look at it, he smirked widely. "This Duel is over."

"You're lying!" Manic snapped. "You don't got anything against my Machina Force!"

"Actually, I do. I summon Beast of Hearts in ATK Mode!" Leo declared, playing his newly drawn card.

Appearing in a flash of light is a humanoid bunny girl clad in a red tunic with a white heart symbol on the back and wielding a small silver dagger (2/ATK: 400/DEF: 1000).

"Ha! What's that little furball gonna do? Cutify me to death?" Manic started laughing at the bunny girl, much to her frustration.

"I wouldn't be laughing just yet. You see, she has a nifty ability. When she's Normal Summoned, I can send the top card of my Deck to the Graveyard, then Special Summon a Hearts Monster from the Graveyard." Leo said as he drew the top card from his Deck, looked at it, smirked, and sent it to the Graveyard. "And from my Graveyard, I Special Summon to the Field my Queen of Hearts!"

Appearing beside the King of Clovers is a beautiful young woman with long blonde hair, orange eyes, and fair skin. She is dressed in a rather provocative red dress with a heart-shaped opening to reveal her cleavage and pink fairy wings on her back (6/ATK: 2100/DEF: 1000).

"Still not strong enough. That bimbo's not even half as hot." Manic scoffed. This made the Queen of Hearts fume.

"Oooh, bad thing to say. But unfortunately, for you, my Beast of Hearts is also a Tuner Monster." Leo pointed out.

"So what? No Synchro Monster you got can beat my Machina Force!"

"You just love to repeat yourself, don't you." Leo rolled his eyes. "Alright, then maybe this will shut you up. I tune my Level 6 Queen of Hearts with my Level 2 Beast of Hearts!"

The bunny girl threw up her dagger as she turned into two Synchro Gates. Queen of Hearts jumped through the Synchro Gates as her body became an orange outline, which revealed six stars that became a pillar of light.

"The fortune of justice shall smile upon the victor. Lady Luck's fangs shall bite through evil! Synchro Summon! Grant me your power, Royal Flush Dragon!"

Emerging from the pillar is a large humanoid dragon with two pairs of wings, a long, serpentine neck and tail, a narrow muzzle, black-white scales, and golden spines. The webbing of the dragon's wings each had a symbol of the playing cards with Spades on the top right, Clovers on the top left, Hearts on the bottom right, and Diamonds on the bottom left. The dragon also possessed a set of five-fingered claws with three toed talons, two protruding fangs over its lower jaw, a pair of glowing red eyes, and a Triple Lucky 7 on its golden yellow underbelly (8/ATK: 3000/DEF: 2300). The newly arrived Royal Flush Dragon released a loud roar that shook the battlefield.

"Say hello to my partner," Leo smirked, gesturing to his dragon, which growled menacingly at Manic.

"O-Okay, so you got a powerful dragon, so what?" Manic asked.

"Glad you asked. Because my partner's gonna shut you up for good." Leo said.

"And how's that?"

"My dragon's special effect can destroy all Monsters you control." Leo stated. "By discarding one card from my hand, I can excavate the top five cards from my Deck. If all five are Monsters with the same Attribute, your Monster goes to the Graveyard. But if they are different Attributes, I send them to the Graveyard and your Monsters lose 300 ATK for each one."

"You're betting all of that on a draw?! Just how dumb can you be?" Manic questioned his opponent.

"Lady Luck hasn't failed me yet. So let's do this! Draw!" Leo drew his first card and smirked, "First card is Magician of Spades! A DARK Attribute!" He drew his next card. "The second card is Rogue of Spades! Another DARK Attribute!" The third card was drawn next. "The third card is Jack of Spades! Another DARK Attribute!" He drew his fourth card. "The fourth card is Queen of Spades! Another DARK Attribute! And the final card…"

*WOOSH!*

All time seemed to slow down as he drew his card. When Leo looked at it, he smirked, and revealed it, making Manic pale considerably.

"NO WAY!"

"The final card I drew was King of Spades! A DARK Attribute! Royal Flush Dragon's effect destroys your Monster!" Leo declared as his dragon released a growl. "Give him a little taste of bad luck, partner! Destructive Misfortune!"

*BOOOOOOOM!*

Machina Force suddenly exploded as all of its parts from the four separate monsters cluttered all around Manic.

"You've gotta be kidding me…" Manic got out.

"And with no monsters left to defend you, you're out of luck. Royal Flush Dragon, attack him directly and end this Duel! Lucky Stream!" Leo commanded as Royal Flush Dragon flew into the air and hovered in place as the Triple Lucky 7 symbols on its chest began to glow then spin before stopping on all 7's as a golden glow appeared from its opened muzzle then it fired a stream of golden energy at Manic.

Leo: 650

Manic: 0

Manic fell to his knees as the Solid Vision disappeared and the duel disks deactivated. "No way… I lost?"

"Yep, and a deal's a deal. I keep my D-Wheel, and you keep your mouth shut about it." Leo said. He took off his Duel Disk, which reverted back into its original form, much to his surprise. "I still have no idea how you did that."

Manic growled as he finally stood up. "Che… whatever. Not like there's anything for me here in Satellite anyway." And with that, he walked away with a grumble.

"Heh, if the dude wasn't such a jerk, he'd have made a good rival. Well, I better get to the garage and-"

He was cut off when the device in his hand suddenly released an electronic chime that drew his attention. "Okay… that's new." Leo said as he stared at the screen which was lighting up and showcasing a glowing red dot that grew with each second. "Uhhhhh…" He said as it grew larger and larger until eventually, it grew beyond the screen borders, causing him to drop the device and step back. Then a beam of light shot out into the sky. "What the-!"

The light slowly opened what could only be a dimensional gate and slowly but surely, a large form began to drop until it landed right in front of Leo, knocking him on his butt.

"Huh? Wha-"

"There you are… I finally found one of the DigiDestined!" A sinister voice snarled. "And it just so happens to be an old friend of mine."

Leo narrowed his eyes at the dust cloud before out stepped something he had only seen in his dreams. "It can't be…" He said with shock. Stepping out of the dust was the giant mantis creature known as Snimon but there seemed to be something different about it. The glaring detail of the Digimon was the vicious scar on its head.

"So this is where you've been hiding, human." Snimon snarled. "After all this time…"

"You… you're that monster mantis in my dreams!"

"And I'm about to make it into a living nightmare once I slice you and your friends into tiny pieces! Twin Sickle!" He shouted before swinging his sickles, launching two pink crescent beams at Leo.

"SHIT!" Leo panicked as he managed to get up and run before the crescent beams destroyed the ground where he once sat.

"Get back here!" Snimon shouted, flying after him.

"Nuh-uh! No way!" Leo cried out. "This cannot be happening! This is all a dream! I'm gonna wake up in my bed and forget this ever happened!"

"Twin Sickle!" Snimon roared as he unleashed another wave of his signature attack at Leo, who quickly rolled out of the way and ducked into an alleyway.

"Okay, not a dream. Definitely not a dream!" Leo grimaced as he realized he couldn't run forever. "What the hell can I even do against this thing?!" That's when an idea hit him. The answer was right in front of him. It's not ideal, but is feasible. "Alright, let's do this! RAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!" He shouted, as he now ran faster.

"Fool! You think running will save you!?" Snimon snarled as he flew after the boy.

"Who said running would?!" He shouted as he found an alleyway and turned the corner, to go into it. He came out of the other side only to find himself at an abandoned warehouse. Seeing it, he went in. Snimon saw this as he flew towards it.

"You have nowhere to run, human!" Snimon snapped as he prepared his attack. "Twin Sickle!" He shouted, throwing the crescent beams at the warehouse.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOM! CRAAAAAAASH!*

The old warehouse came tumbling down as dust and debris were toppling all over each other. Snimon was satisfied with killing his target. But then…

*VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

"WOOHOOOO!" Leo exclaimed with joy as he rode out of the smoke on a streamlined D-Wheel that was black-white in color with golden details. The front of the bike was curved down over the front wheel with the back wheel covered by red armor shaped like the number seven. Leo also wore a helmet that resembled the head of his Black Joker Knight but with a green visor. "Well, better chance for a field test for the Lucky Streak!"

"What in-!" Snimon gawked.

"Later, suckahhhhhhh!" Leo shouted, before speeding off.

"Get back here, you human trash!" Snimon roared as he followed after his target.

"Eat my dust, bug!" Leo shot back, saluting the Digimon with a mocking grin.

"TWIN SICKLE!" Snimon shouted as he now fired multiple crescent beams along the road. Leo dodged left and right as the crescent beams crashed against the ground, dirt and rocks flying up and about.

"Hey easy! You're gonna ruin the paint job!"

"Worry about your life, fool!" Snimon snarled as he flew after his prey. "When I get done with you, I'll find the rest of the DigiDestined and I'm going to take my time with them!"

"I don't know anything about these DigiDestined or whatever but if you're threatening people's lives then I'm gonna stop you!" Leo vowed.

"Oh really, and how are you going to do that?" Snimon sneered.

"I'm gonna fight you!" Leo said, as he inserted his D-Pad into the D-Wheel and the screen came to life. 'I don't know if this will work. Best I can do is scare him off.' He said, before inserting his Deck in the Wrist Dealer and drew a card. "Royal Flush Dragon! Help me out!" he shouted, slapping the card onto the tray.

Appearing out of thin air was the black-white dragon as it roared menacingly at Snimon.

"You think some overgrown lizard will stop me?!" Snimon growled.

"Maybe. Royal Flush Dragon attack with Lucky Streak!" Leo commanded. Royal Flush Dragon obeyed its master's command and unleashed its signature attack upon the Digimon. However, much to Leo's surprise-

*BOOOOOOOOM!*

The attack actually hit?!

"No way! But how?!" Leo got out.

"Urgh! You little brat! I will not be humiliated by you again! The only thing that would make this moment sweeter is if that little rodent that followed you around would have been here to feel the bite of my blades!" Snimon snarled as he lunged in to take down his prey. However, the Royal Flush Dragon rushed in to slam into the praying mantis digimon, "Urgh! Get out of my way! Shadow Slash!" He shouted, before slashing the dragon with lightning speed. The dragon roared in pain before exploding into pixels.

"NO!" Leo shouted in horror at seeing his partner be destroyed.

"Now with that lizard out of the way… it's your turn! Ultimate Twin Sickles!" Snimon shouted, this time releasing a more powerful version of Twin Sickle, only this time releasing four crescent beams. Leo swerved left and right as he managed to dodge three of them, but the fourth managed to land a hit, sending his D-Wheel and himself flying.

"GAHHHHHHH!" Leo yelled in pain, before tumbling and rolling to the ground and his D-Wheel crashed and slid a few feet from him. "Urgh! That's gonna hurt tomorrow…" He groaned as he struggled to push his bruised and scratched body up.

"Hehehe… not so lucky now, are you…" Snimon sneered as it landed in front of him, and took large strides forward towards the weakened human. "You're just like the rest of those DigiDestined, weak and pathetic."

"I don't know… what you're talking about…" Leo groaned.

"Doesn't matter. Because in the end, YOU'RE GOING TO DIE!" Snimon roared, raising his twin blades up and Leo could only look on, as this was the last thing he'll see, before his demise. Maybe Yusei was right. His luck did run out. "THIS IS THE END! TWIN-"

"LIGHTNING FUR!"

Or maybe not… as a barrage of lightning charged quills struck Snimon's back, causing the Digimon to roar in pain.

"Back away from my Bro, bug face!" A familiar voice reached Leo's ears.

"Wait… I know that voice." The boy said as he glanced over Snimon's body to see a hedgehog-looking Digimon. The same hedgehog Digimon that appeared in his dreams. "It's you…"

"…Herissmon…"

Leo Hikaru had seen many strange things in his life. He witnessed his best friend, Yusei, create a D-Wheel and use it to summon his favorite card. He saw Jack take Yusei's D-Wheel and card to use them to become King of Neo Domino City. And he even witnessed a giant mantis try to kill him.

But nothing could prepare him for meeting the familiar hedgehog creature that's been frequently appearing in his dreams.

"Herissmon…" Leo said the name of the Digimon.

"Nice to see you again, Bro!" Herissmon said with a happy smile on his face.

"You!" Snimon snarled at the hedgehog. "I was hoping you'd come to save your human friend, you little runt!"

"Man, never thought I'd see your ugly face again, Snimon. Didn't you learn your lesson the last time me and Bro kicked your butt?" Herissmon taunted.

"Wait, what?" Leo asked, completely confused about what Herissmon was talking about.

"You don't remember?" Herissmon asked, to which Leo shook his head. "Oh boy…"

"Well, since you decided to greet me, I might as well have a little fun with you before I end your partner." Snimon snickered as he brought up his arm blades menacingly. "Twin Sickle!"

"Lightning Fur!" Herissmon shouted, shooting more of his quills into the crescent beams, which, surprisingly, were destroyed.

"WHAT?!" Snimon snapped.

"Hehe~ that's what training will do for ya." Herissmon grinned widely.

"How did you-" Leo managed to say.

"No time to explain. We gotta deal with him." Herissmon said.

"But how? My ride's busted and I don't have anywhere else to go!" Leo pointed out.

"You need to help me Digivolve!" Herissmon told the boy.

"Digi-what now?"

"The device in your hand! It's a Digivice!"

"You mean this thing?" Leo asked, holding the device in question.

"Yeah, that!"

"But how?!"

"What do you mean, how?!"

"You're asking me to do something I've never done before!"

"Well… figure it out!"

"Some help you are!" Leo snapped comically.

"ENOUGH OF THIS! I need to slice something, and it starts with you, runt! Ultimate Twin Sickle!" Snimon shouted, swinging his mantis blades, and unleashed four powerful crescent beams.

"Eep!" Herissmon squealed as he hopped and jumped away from the attacks, managing to use a piece of debris as cover before one crescent beam could hit the top of his quills. "That was close."

"Look out!" Leo warned the hedgehog Digimon.

"Eh?" Herissmon looked up only to be greeted by the snarling face of Snimon.

"Surprise, you little rodent!" The mantis Digimon roared.

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeek!" Herissmon squealed before running towards Leo and hiding behind him.

"Hey, why are you hiding behind me?!" Leo asked incredulously.

"Do you see how ugly his face is?! It gave me nightmares back then!" Herissmon complained.

"Where the hell is all that bravado from before?!"

"Uh well… I um… ehehehe…"

"You've gotta be kidding me… now we're both doomed!"

"Well, can't you summon one of your Duel Monsters to help?" Herissmon questioned.

"In case you haven't noticed, my Duel Disk is still in my D-Wheel, which is currently behind the bloodthirsty praying mantis." Leo pointed out.

"Oh… welp, it was nice knowing ya."

"OH C'MON!" Leo cried out. "Don't quit on me now!"

"Well, if I can't Digivolve, then I can't fight him! You always knew how to turn a bad situation around, Bro! You even told me that Lady Luck favors you for some reason." The hedgehog Digimon told the two-toned-haired boy. "So, please! Remember our bond as partners! Remember how we always fought and won!"

Leo's eyes widened a fraction as something in his mind triggered when he heard Herissmon's speech. His head throbbed rather painfully, but he fought through the pain to focus on the trigger.

A precious bond…

…the laughter and tears shed…

…the burning fire within…

…and the power between Tamer and Digimon.

Leo gasped, "I remember… I remember our bond." He said quietly.

"You remember?!"

"Yeah…" Leo said before he slowly stood up from the ground, despite how much pain he was in. "I can't believe I forgot all of that… I don't know why, but as much as I want to find out why, now's not the time. Right now, it's time we fought back!"

The moment those words left his mouth, his Digivice shone brightly.

"Bro, your Digivice!" Herissmon gestured to the device in Leo's hand.

The boy smirked as his ocean blue eyes suddenly seemed to glow, "Yeah… It's been a long time, but I'm feeling Lucky right now. Let's go, Herissmon!" He declared, bringing out his Digivice and then clamping it onto his left wrist. The device locked onto it just as it did before his Duel with Manic. A holographic card then slipped out of the device, which he grabbed and flipped over to reveal the card's face.

"DigiAccess! Digivolution Hatsudou!"

He then crushed the holographic card, and the motes of light transferred over to and enveloped Herissmon. The hedgehog-like Digimon was then surrounded by a yellow egg as the fur and skin on his body began to peel off, revealing a yellow circuitry body beneath.

"HERISSMON SHINKA!"

The hedgehog Digimon's body suddenly started to grow taller and a little more humanoid. Skin and fur began to form around his new body while spikes emerged from specific points as well.

When the transformation was complete, gone was Herissmon. In his place was a tall, bipedal humanoid Digimon that resembled a crossbreed between a hedgehog and a wolf. It still had Herissmon's head spikes and yellow highlights, but now it had long yellow spiky hair that flowed behind its head. Its muzzle was longer and narrower than Herissmon's, with a yellow spike-like nose. Its arms were longer with five red claws on both arms with bandages wrapped around the forearms and a leather belt wrapped around both biceps, three yellow spikes on its shoulders, three-toed paws with red toe claws, bandages wrapped around the ankles, and spikes atop each toe. There was also a long set of thick spikes on its back that almost resembled a set of tails. Overall, it looked like a grown-up version of Herissmon. His blue eyes gleamed as he struck a pose with his claws.

"FILMON!"

"Impossible! You digivolved?!" Snimon gawked.

"Whoa… now I remember," Leo said with awe, noticing that Filmon was a few heads taller than him.

"It doesn't matter! I'm still gonna destroy you both!" Snimon roared.

"You can try, but it will end up the same way. You, flat on your back, and me, standing with my head held high!" Filmon snarled.

Snimon growled before he set up his signature attack, "Why you-! Then have some of this! SHADOW SLASH!"

"Not today!" Filmon said, spreading his arms out and spinning rapidly towards the ugly mantis. "Crimson Slash!" The whirlwind of crimson fury slammed into Snimon's attack; sparks flew from the collision of equal power that fought for dominance. "Leo, you still have your Skill Cards?! It should help us give the edge!"

"Yeah, I should still have-" Leo tapped on the screen of his Digivice to check for any Skill Cards he could use before pausing when he looked at his menu. "What the-! My Skill Cards! They're gone!"

"Huh?!"

"I'm not kidding! My Skill Cards are gone! I don't know how!"

"Well, it has been five years. Maybe they got deleted?" Filmon suggested.

"If they did, we might be in a little trouble."

"Green Sickle Cut!" Snimon shouted as he released a green crescent beam that cut Filmon horizontally.

"GAHHHH!" Filmon yelled in pain, causing him to fall to the ground.

"Filmon!" Leo yelled.

"Heh, finally…" Snimon stalked towards the fallen Filmon, who struggled to get up. "After all this time, I finally have a victory over you, rodent!"

"I'm not… done yet…!" Filmon growled.

"Oh, you're done. And after you, your friend is next!"

"Like hell, I'll let you hurt him!" Leo roared as he picked up a lead pipe, then ran at Snimon and swung his makeshift weapon at the insect's legs. The pipe hardly damaged Snimon's tough exoskeleton, but it did succeed in getting his attention.

"Insolent human!" Snimon snarled.

"Crap…"

"I guess I should kill you first before him!"

"You could. But just to inform you, I was merely distracting you."

"Huh?" Snimon said, confused, as he didn't notice Filmon jumping up from behind.

"Lightning Stinger!"

"Wha- GAAAAAGH!" Snimon cried out in pain as Filmon's tail spikes stabbed into his back, shedding digital particles from the mantis Digimon.

"You should've kept your eyes on the prize, Snimon," Filmon said. "And now you're gonna pay for it."

"Damn you, you rodent!" Snimon cursed the Champion-Level Digimon that struck him. "I will not be beaten here. Not again! Never again!!!"

"My quills are already pulsing electricity into your Digicore. You'll be back in the Digital World as a Digi-Egg soon enough." Filmon stated.

"Why you-"

"Leo, now's your chance!"

"Got it!" He said, before another holographic card appeared, and he drew the card before inserting it back in, while aiming it at Snimon. "DigiCode Download!"

The Digivice shot a laser that struck Snimon in the chest. Slowly, data particles began to peel off of the mantis Digimon's body and flowed right into the Digivice.

"No! I will not be denied my revenge! I will come back, human! Do you hear me?! I will return!!!" Snimon vowed as his entire body broke down into digital code before being absorbed into Leo's Digivice. The holographic card now featured an image of Snimon, which Leo took out and held up.

"Download complete," Leo smirked.

[End Believer]

Streams of barcode then surrounded Filmon before shrinking back down into his rookie form, Herissmon.

"Oh man, that was tiring. And I'm hungry too." Herissmon said, before he saw Leo approaching him, the latter holding his arm.

"Herissmon… you're…here," Leo said. "But… how?"

"I don't know. I was back in the Digital World, and I suddenly felt like you were in danger, so I just… came over?" Herissmon explained, clearly unsure himself.

"Well, it's great to have you here, little buddy," Leo said with a smile before looking at his D-Wheel. "Ah man, and I just finished the paint job last night too."

"What is that anyway?"

"My D-Wheel, and the only ticket to getting out of Satellite."

"Satellite?"

"You're on it. It's an island that used to be part of the mainland, but a huge accident caused part of that mainland to break off, that huge chunk of land, now called Satellite."

"Wow, sounds pretty hectic," Herissmon commented. "But what's a D-Wheel for anyway?"

"Besides being a mode of transportation, it's also used for Riding Duels," Leo explained.

"Riding Duels?"

"Card games on motorcycles."

"Ohhhhhh." The hedgehog Digimon drew on. "That sounds like fun! Can we try it?"

"Maybe later. Right now, my arm is killing me, and I need to get my D-Wheel to a different area before some punk tries to steal it."

"Yeah, but you're kinda hurt."

"Yeah…"

"Leo?" A voice said. Leo and Herissmon turned towards the source of the voice, and it turned out to be none other than Crow Hogan.

He was a young man with dark grey eyes and bushy, spiky orange hair, adorned with a viridian headband embroidered with two rings on the right side. He wears an outfit consisting of blue jeans, a yellow T-shirt, and a sleeveless brown cargo vest. He also wears a pair of earrings in the shape of washers. One unique thing about him is the criminal marks on his face. He has been marked at least twice.

"Oh, uh, hey, Crow." Leo greeted the orange-haired teen.

"Wait, Crow? The one that Falcomon's been hanging around?"

"Huh? Wait, who are you?" Crow looked at the Digimon strangely. "Hold up! It just straight-up talked!"

"Why is that so surprising!? You know I can talk! What is it with humans?!" Herissmon shouted in comical irritation.

"That's just Crow." Leo pointed out.

"Leo, what the hell's going on?! What's that rat thing?!"

"It's Herissmon! Don't you remember?!" Herissmon shouted.

"Never seen you before in my life, rat thing," Crow said bluntly.

"I'm not a rat!" The hedgehog Digimon complained.

"Okay, Crow. Stop antagonizing him. Currently, I need some assistance. My D-Wheel got trashed and my arm's busted." Leo told his bird-loving friend.

Crow looked around and finally noticed the instructions. "Must've been one heck of a joy ride. The hell did you do?"

"I didn't do all that. Snimon did."

"Snimon?"

Leo held up his Digivice and showed the card of said Digimon.

"AHHHHHHHHH! MONSTER MANTIS!" Crow freaked out, but then stopped himself. "Wait… why did I scream that out loud?"

"You had a habit of doing that whenever we met new Digimon," Herissmon answered.

"Okay, I think I would remember seeing something that ugly." Crow gestured at Snimon's card.

"Because you already did, years ago," Leo said. "You know those dreams you've been having? They happened."

"Wait, the dreams from when we were kids?" Crow pondered in surprise.

"You still got that device on you?" Leo inquired.

"Uh… yeah," Crow said, as he fished his pockets until pulling out the said device, which was black with orange and dark purple highlights. "This thing, right?"

"Always keep it with you even though you have no idea what it could be," Leo said, bringing up his own Digivice.

"Y-Yeah, where are you going with this?" Crow pondered.

"Let me ask you something: do you remember Falcomon?"

"Falcomon…?" He pondered as he tried to remember with his arms crossed and eyes closed, as he concentrated on that particular name.

"So you're a bird?"

"Well, my name is Falcomon. You're not the smartest human, are you?"

"You calling me dumb, pal!?"

"Oh, so you figured that out."

Crow flinched as he held his head in pain. "Argh! What the-!"

"Focus, Crow. Remember your bond with Falcomon." Leo told his friend.

"My head is killing me." Crow groaned.

"Don't fight the memories. Let them flow."

Crow tried to let the memories flow, but his headache got worse.

"Hey, Crow. We're friends, right?"

"Of course. Best buds for life, Falcomon."

The orange-haired teen's eyes shot open in surprise, "I… I remember." Suddenly, his Digivice glowed and shot out a purple light into the air. "Whoa, what's happening?!"

"I think I know what it could be," Leo said with his hands in his pockets. "Or rather, who."

The light from Crow's Digivice grew brighter before the silhouette of a bird-like figure appeared from inside the light. Emerging from it is a familiar black bird Digimon dressed in ninja gear that both Duelists and Herissmon recognized.

"Crow!" The Digimon called out as it flew towards the orange-haired teen.

"Falcomon!" Crow said happily as he caught his partner in a hug, which the bird Digimon returned. "It's been so long! I've missed ya, buddy!"

"I've missed you, too, my friend. It seems like forever since we've been together." Falcomon said with joy.

"Nice to see you again, Falcomon." Leo greeted the bird Digimon.

"Ah! Leo? And Herissmon, too! You're both here! This is wonderful! If you're here, then the rest of our friends must be here as well."

"Unfortunately, the only other friend we know who is still here is Yusei. Jack is in Neo Domino City and… I'm not sure about the other DigiDestined. It has been five years, so I doubt they'll look the same." Leo pointed out.

"Oh…" Falcomon looked down, forlorn.

"Cheer up, Falcomon! I'm sure we'll meet everyone again!" Herissmon reassured his friend. "After all, we managed to find our partners, so we're bound to see the others!"

"In any case, Crow, give me a hand with my D-Wheel," Leo told his friend.

"You got it, pal." Crow nodded with a smirk.

As the two humans assisted in moving the battered D-Wheel with their Digimon partners helping as well, they failed to notice lingering digital particles from Snimon's defeated data floating in the air for a moment before it drifted towards a ruined card store and surrounded a forgotten Duel Monster card.

"Man, and I had this freshly painted yesterday, too." Leo groaned as he looked at the scratched and slightly dented D-Wheel that was his Lucky Streak.

"You're telling me," Crow said, as he looked at the laptop and typed furiously to give a diagnostic scan on said D-Wheel. "Well, the good news is, none of the internal parts are messed up. They seem fine. And your Duel Disk is working properly."

"So what's the bad news?" Leo asked as he nursed his injured arm while Herissmon gave him a bottle of water.

"You just need to replace the metal that got dented or scratched and give another good coat of paint, and you should be fine."

"It took me weeks to find the right parts to put it together. And that paint ain't cheap."

"I wish I could help, but I don't have any spare parts, let alone paint. I already used it up for the Blackbird." Crow shrugged.

"Goddammit!" Leo cursed. "How is it that I'm lucky on my feet but when it comes to my D-Wheel, my luck is shit!?"

"Hey, don't beat yourself up over it." Crow tried to reassure. "Besides, you couldn't have known that a mantis freak would pop out of nowhere and decide to kill ya."

"Well, after it was done with me, it would've been looking for you and the others," Leo stated. "But yeah, this is gonna set me back at least a week or two."

"Can't you ask someone to help fix it?" Herissmon asked his partner.

"I… could ask Yusei."

"You mean that spiky-haired guy that Bulucomon talks about?" Herissmon questioned.

"Uh… yes?"

"Great! It'll be awesome to see him again!" The hedgehog Digimon beamed happily.

"You're an energetic little guy, aren't you?"

"I'm always like this! No need to act gloomy all the time, y'know?" Herissmon grinned widely.

"Okay, for some reason, I have a feeling you are gonna be a girl magnet." Leo chuckled.

"Why would I be a magnet for girls?" The hedgehog tilted his head rather cutely.

"Just… never mind."

Neo Domino City…

A utopia suited for high-class and middle-class citizens who live in prosperity thanks to the efforts of the Public Security Maintenance Bureau (as well as the Satellite for getting rid of their garbage).

It is a place of freedom and opportunity where the elite and even the middle class thrive and are well-represented. In Neo Domino, almost everything the people need is provided for, thanks in large part to the development of the Momentum Reactor. This nearly unlimited power source continually powered the city and provided energy for its most excellent form of entertainment…

…The Riding Duel.

This new aspect of dueling was introduced, and it has taken the world by storm! It is fast-paced, heart-pounding, and adrenaline-pumping as duelists ride on special dueling motorcycles known as D-Wheels. They Ride Duel through and on the road with a new mechanic that's been added to Ride Dueling: Speed World.

In the bustling city of Neo Domino, its citizens have gathered at the Kaiba Dome, the famous stadium that many legendary Duelists have battled in since the days of Old Domino City, and now the proprietor of Riding Duels. Thanks to the technology and funds of Kaiba Corp, having a Riding Duel was possible, as D-Wheelers would race around the track that circumvents the main field and have adrenaline-rushing Riding Duels for all to see. And today was no different, as an exhibition was underway, but it seemed that the Riding Duel was going to be over soon.

Two D-Wheelers were racing around the track, with one having the style of a chopper. The other was designed as a monowheel and a detachable Duel Disk, as it was the only one of its kind.

Riding these D-Wheels were two famous Duelists. On the chopper-styled D-Wheel was Mukuro Enjo, the former champion of the Kaiba Dome. On the other D-Wheel is the number one Riding Duelist in the world and the King of the Kaiba Dome, Jack Atlas. As it stands now, Jack has his Vice Dragon on the field while Mukuro has Skull Flame.

"Hmph, I'm rather disappointed in you," Jack said. "If you thought you could take back your place as Riding Duel King with that kind of strength, then you're sorely mistaken! I'm going to put you in your place right now! O-re no taaa-n!" He shouted, drawing his next card and smirking. "I summon Dark Resonator!"

A small ghost-like creature in dark robes emerged with a tuning fork in one hand and a hammer in the other. It released a gremlin-like giggle. (3/ATK: 1300/DEF: 300)

"Otto! Here it comes!" The MC announced, his voice ringing out throughout the arena. "The Riding Duel King's Ace is coming!"

"I tune my Level 5 Vice Dragon with Level 3 Dark Resonator!" Jack declared. Dark Resonator tapped the tuning fork with its hammer and glowed before transforming into three Synchro Gate rings, before lining up as a tunnel of rings. The dragon passed through the tunnel, transforming into an orange outline of itself, revealing five orbs of light that aligned within the tunnel.

"The Ruler's heartbeats will now file through here! Take witness to its creation-shaking power! Synchro Summon! My very soul, Red Demon's Dragon!"

A beam of light emerged from the Synchro Gate rings, revealing a large, darkened form within the light. It was a humanoid-like dragon with black, scale-like skin that had red lines running throughout its body. The dragon itself had a frighteningly demonic appearance, with burning orange eyes, as it flapped its demon-like wings and released a mighty roar that elicited cheers from the crowd. (8/ATK: 3000/DEF: 2000)

"Kittaaaaaaaaa! Jack's Red Demon's Dragon has finally made its presence known!" The MC shouted with excitement.

Jack smirked, "Thanks for entertaining me for so long. Now, allow me to end this Duel by sinking my fangs into your neck!" He turned his D-Wheel so that it was riding in reverse and ordered his cherished beast to attack. "Battle! Red Demon's Dragon attacks your Skull Flame! Blazing Crimson Hell Flare!"

Red Demon's Dragon reared its head back as burning flames began to gather in its mouth, then it released a powerful blast that struck Enjo's Skull Flame, annihilating it to ashes as the last of the former champion's LP dropped to zero. Mukuro's D-Wheel suddenly released steam as it began to spin out of control, forcing the Riding Duelist to get control of his ride before he ended up crashing.

"Kittaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Mukuro Enjo's Life Points have dropped to zero, which means our reigning champion and King is still Jack Atlas!" The MC exclaimed with a broad smile on his face. The crowd cheered wildly as the Riding Duel King's winning streak remained undefeated.

"There's only one person who could surpass me!" Jack declared as he took his victory lap. "And that's me!"

The crowd cheered wildly again as Red Demon's Dragon roared in triumphant victory and authority, letting everyone know who was the strongest.

Watching the end of the Riding Duel from his office, a tall man with long silver hair, blue eyes, light skin, and a somewhat muscular body seemed to be deep in his thoughts. He was dressed in a light grey business suit with white gloves and dark business shoes.

This was Rex Godwin, Director of the Public Security Maintenance Bureau.

"Is there something wrong, Director?" A woman asked. She had short, blue hair and gold eyes, wearing a white blouse under a gray-blue jacket that ended at the front, just above her abdomen, and fell past her white skirt in the back. Brown heels and blue dangle earrings also accompany her outfit.

"Hm?" Godwin looked at his secretary. "Did you say something, Mikage-san?"

"I asked if there was something wrong, Director. You were… spacing out." Mikage said with a nervous tone.

"Hm… do forgive me." Godwin apologized as he looked out the window. "I was merely deep in thought."

"About what, if I may ask?" Mikage asked curiously.

"Hm, I'm not quite sure, but it's a strange feeling," Godwin replied. "I suppose it would be better explained as a 'blast from the past', so to speak."

"I… don't understand."

"To be honest, neither do I."

Sometime later, the doors to the elevator opened, and Jack emerged from it.

"A most excellent performance yet again, Jack."

"Hmph, it was hardly worth my time." Jack Atlas remarked, lounging on a couch while a steaming cup of tea rested on the coffee table. "There hasn't been much talent here in Neo Domino that could give me a challenge."

"Come now, while you may be King, there are potentially those who could be better than you. They just have not been found yet."

"Not here in Neo Domino City, at least," Jack said without much care.

"Oh? Do you know someone?" Rex inclined a brow of interest.

"Two people come to mind." Jack interrupted him. "And before you say anything, I already know that dueling in the Satellite is illegal, but those two can, and I've seen their potential. I know, because I've faced them before."

"Oh? And who are these two potential Duelists?" Rex inquired.

"Now, where's the fun in that if I just told you?"

"Hmph, I can concede to that. Very well, but I doubt these two Duelists you are talking about will come to Neo Domino City."

"Oh, believe me, they'll find a way," Jack said, before taking his cup of coffee off the table and sipping.

"Leo, I'm not hallucinating, am I?" Yusei asked his best friend.

"No, you're not," Leo replied.

"So, I am seeing a giant hedgehog walking on two feet and talking. And a giant bird that talks too."

"Yep."

"That's right! A giant hedgehog walking on two feet and talking." Herissmon grinned. "Good to know at least someone knows what I am, and not just being a giant rat."

"I said, I was sorry!" Crow shouted.

"And I'm not forgiving you."

"Give it up, Crow." Falcomon sighed, shrugging his wings.

"Why is this weird yet oddly familiar?" Yusei asked.

"Yeah~ about that. For some reason, certain memories got blocked off, so it's natural if you don't remember." Leo said.

"Okay, so you called me over to help with your D-Wheel and introduce me to these… animals?"

"More like reintroducing you to these animals. And they're called Digimon." Leo said. "Also, jog your memory."

"How so?" The spiky-haired teen raised a brow.

"Does the name Bulucomon ring any bells?"

"Bulucomon…" Yusei pondered, crossing his arms and closing his eyes while bowing his head down as he tried to remember the name.

"My name isn't weird. It's Bulucomon."

"You said your name is Bulucomon, right?"

"That's my name. Who are you? More importantly, what are you?"

"I'm Yusei. And all of us…we're Humans. You don't mind, do you?"

"Well, considering you guys are the first humans we met, no. Wanna be friends?"

"Sure."

"Ergh!" Yusei gritted his teeth, holding his head. "What the-!"

"Remember yet?" Leo inquired.

"I…" Yusei started as his eyes lingered on the device he had carried with him for as long as he could remember. "I think so…"

"Well, we need something more definitive. You gotta dig deep, Yusei." Leo said.

"How? Whatever I'm trying to remember gives me a migraine."

"Is the bond between you and your Digimon really that worthless?"

Yusei's eyes widened as something in his memory triggered when he heard those words.

"Yusei… you need to run…"

"No way! I'm not leaving you behind!"

"If you stay with me, you'll die. I can't live with myself if you get hurt."

"How do you think I'd feel if you were gone!? I never leave my friends, Bulucomon! Not now, not ever!"

*BZZZZZZZZT!*

"Arrrrrrrgh! Aggggggh!" Yusei yelled, holding his head tight.

"Yusei!" Crow called out, about to run over, but Leo stopped him by holding his arm out. "Dude, he's-"

"You had to go through this too, and I didn't stop you," Leo said. "This is something he has to fight through himself."

Crow grimaced but nodded, forcing himself to watch as Yusei had what would seem to be a mental breakdown mixed with the worst headache he had ever had. The crab-haired teen had to bite his lower lip to keep from screaming from the sheer agony his splitting headache was giving him. The memories of an unknown world with fantastic creatures filled his brain, threatening to split his cranium wide open. However, every memory always featured him when he was a child, and standing by his side was a dragon-like creature with a literal icy exterior.

His eyes shot open as he mumbled one word, or rather, a name. "Bulucomon…"

"You finally remember." Leo grinned.

"Yeah," Yusei said as his splitting headache was fading. "Bulucomon… how could I have forgotten?" At that moment, his Digivice glowed brightly. "What the-!"

"Don't panic, Yusei. It's just reacting to your desire to see your friend again." Leo told him.

"My desire?" Yusei repeated in surprise before a light shot out of his Digivice; then it started to take shape, revealing… "Bulucomon!"

The ice-like dragon slowly opened his eyes before seeing a familiar face. "Yusei?"

"Bulucomon, it's me!" Yusei said. "Do you remember me?!"

"Of course, I do! How could I forget my best friend?" Bulucomon said with a happy smile as he jumped towards Yusei and hugged the human, who responded with his own. Strangely enough, it looked like Yusei was holding a toddler, as Bulucomon was shorter than him.

"I… I forgot about you, though. Forgive me, I feel like such a fool for forgetting about you." Yusei said, berating himself for losing a memorable bond with his Digimon partner.

"It's okay, Yusei. Time changes a lot of people. I mean, look at you! You're all grown up!" Bulucomon said, looking rather proud. "You're almost as tall as me!"

"Uh, he's way taller than you." Crow pointed out.

"Really?" Bulucomon asked, before Yusei stood up. "Holy crap! You are taller than I!"

"Told ya."

"Oh, I know you. You're that human with a birdbrain."

"Say that to my face again! I dare you!" Crow snapped comically, but Leo held him back as the Blackfeather Duelist flailed wildly, wanting to maul the ice dragon Digimon.

"Yeah, he thinks I'm a giant rat," Herissmon added.

"Why? You look nothing like a rat." Bulucomon stated.

"I know! That's what I told him!"

"Let's not forget. Crow was rather airheaded as a boy." Falcomon pointed out.

"True." The other two Digimon agreed.

"That's it! I'm going to put my foot up your-" Before Crow could rant any further, Leo quickly covered the orange-haired teen's mouth.

"How about you shut up?" Leo deadpanned before looking at the three Digimon. "Well, guys, how about we all get my D-Wheel back to Yusei's place and then we can figure out what to do from there."

"Okay!" Herissmon agreed with a nod.

"Very well," Falcomon said.

"Long as I'm with Yusei, sure," Bulucomon replied.

After getting the Lucky Streak ready to move, Yusei helped Leo push his D-Wheel back to the former's subway home while Crow followed with his Blackbird. "Let's hurry this up, alright? I gotta be back to look after the kids." Crow told his friends.

"You have children, Crow?" Falcomon pondered.

"Uh, sorta. They're not my kids. They're orphans that I'm taking care of."

"I was about to say, I thought you went off and-" Herissmon began, but Crow somehow managed to figure out what he was going to say next, as his face was cherry red.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT! I AIN'T THAT STUPID!" Crow shouted.

"Yeah, I figured as much. No female on the planet would procreate with you." Falcomon stated.

"What'd you say!?"

"Okay, enough, you two." Leo chided. "Geez, how the hell do these Digimon know about the birds and bees?" He muttered to Yusei.

"I mean, they are beings made of data. Maybe it's ingrained in them." Yusei theorized.

"Huh…" Leo nodded in acceptance. "Guess that explains all those times I kept getting kidnapped by only female Digimon."

"Do I even wanna know?"

"No. No, you don't." Leo sighed before looking at his partner. "So Herissmon, do you know where the other Digimon went?"

The hedgehog Digimon rubbed his little claws on his muzzle, "Well, after you guys left, we kinda just drifted from each other. I mean, we still hung out, but it didn't feel the same without our human partners."

"I see…" Leo frowned. "I hope they're doing okay."

"Well, if we manage to regain our memories, maybe the others will too," Yusei said.

"Speaking of, where's that blonde-haired guy?" Bulucomon asked.

"You mean Jack…" Yusei said, making the ice dragon Digimon nod. "He's not here. He's in Neo Domino City."

"Why?" The ice dragon Digimon questioned.

"It's complicated," Yusei replied with a bit of a scowl on his face.

"Did something happen?" Herissmon asked his partner.

"Let's just say… Jack did something unforgivable." Leo answered.

"Was it bad?"

"Yes…"

"Oh…"

"Can we not talk about Jack right now?" Yusei interjected.

"Sorry." Leo apologized.

The rest of the walk delved into a tense silence as neither human nor Digimon spoke until they arrived at the subway station that Yusei called his home. "You can put your D-Wheel here for now," Yusei told his blue-eyed friend. "I'll be nearby to help with any repairs you might need."

"Thanks, man," Leo said as Crow helped wheel the Lucky Streak into a space beside Yusei's D-Wheel.

"There you go," Crow said with a grin. "Well, I better get back to the kids. Come on, Falcomon." The orange-haired teen gestured with his thumb to the exit.

"Are you sure, Crow?" Falcomon asked his partner.

"Of course, the kids will love you," Crow assured his Digimon friend as the duo left the subway, leaving Leo, Yusei, and their own Digimon partners.

"You can crash on the couch until your wounds heal." Yusei offered.

"Thanks, Yusei," Leo said, limping over to the couch before taking a seat. Herissmon followed after his human partner and sat beside him. "How's your D-Wheel coming along?"

"Testing out an Acceleration Chip," Yusei replied.

"How many does that make so far?"

"Fifth one this month."

"You've been blowing them out so much lately." Leo pointed out. "I know you wanna get to Jack as fast as possible, but I think you need to slow down a bit. Besides, you and Bulucomon just reunited, so I think a little catching up is in order."

"I'll have plenty of time to do that after I get my card back from Jack," Yusei said bluntly. "Remember? The deadline of this month is approaching."

Leo grimaced, "Yeah, I know…" He muttered.

"Deadline?" Herissmon and Bulucomon repeated.

"Every month, the pipeline that sends trash from Neo Domino City to Satellite is shut down for three minutes for maintenance. I'm going to use that chance to sneak into Neo Domino City and get my card back from Jack." Yusei explained.

"What card did he take from you?" Bulucomon asked.

"Stardust Dragon."

"You mean that white scaly dragon that sparkles?"

"The very same."

"Why? Doesn't he have that creepy demon dragon?"

Yusei closed his eyes, "I don't know why he took it. But I intend to find out."

Leo piped in, "Well, first you need an Acceleration Chip that won't blow up in your D-Wheel."

"Easier said than done." Yusei sighed.

"I can help find one for you!" Bulucomon chirped with a smile.

"Bulucomon, you don't even know what an Acceleration Chip is." Yusei pointed out.

"Maybe not, but I did kinda learn some techy stuff from Datamon."

"Didn't he try to turn us into cyborgs?" Yusei asked.

"Yeah, but we kicked his butt. Remember?"

"Oh yeah. So he's still around, huh? It would be great to see the Digital World again."

"Yeah, and this time, other Digimon won't try to kill us," Bulucomon said with an assuring smile.

"Somehow, I doubt that," Leo interjected.

"Why do you say that, Bro?" Herissmon pondered.

"Because a giant killer moth is flying right towards us!" Leo exclaimed, gesturing at the crack in the ceiling of the subway that revealed the outside.

"What the-!" Yusei said.

"Oh god, it's gonna be like that giant insect manga I read, that one time! This is gonna suck so bad!" Leo cried out.

"What the hell are you reading?!"

*CRAAAASSH!*

The subway ceiling broke as the giant moth landed on the railways, as it snarled at the teens and their Digimon. The moth itself resembled the Duel Monster, the Great Moth, but its head bore the features of a snarling beast, complete with razor-sharp teeth and curved, bladed forearms colored a dark grey.

"What is that thing!?" Yusei exclaimed.

"I don't know, but it is ugly!" Leo shouted.

"Kill… you…"

The familiar voice sent a cold shiver down Leo's spine as he looked at the monstrous insect with wide eyes, "It can't be…"

Herissmon and Bulucomon jumped in front of their partners, "Careful, Bro!" The former warned.

"This creature is a Digimon!" Bulucomon added.

"I WILL KILL YOU, YOU DAMNED DIGIDESTINED!!!" The monstrous moth roared in the voice of the seemingly defeated-

"Snimon!?" Leo exclaimed in shock. "But how?! We defeated you!"

"Yes… But the remnants of my data managed to find a suitable host that granted me power I never thought I could imagine! No longer am I merely a Snimon! Now… I am DaiSnimon!" The transformed Digimon roared, fluttering its wings menacingly.

Leo brought up his Digivice to scan this new foe.

"What the hell?" Leo got out, looking at his Digivice for the information. "This doesn't make any sense! Why would he have a WIND-Attribute?! Unless…"

"He fused with a Duel Monster card…" Yusei theorized.

"Yes! The power of this human card game is now mine! I can already feel the power of this card fueling my DigiCore with limitless energy! Now I will finally have my revenge!" DaiSnimon roared as his arm blades glowed bright purple. "Twin Venom!" He shouted, slashing his blades down to send deadly arcs of purple energy at the DigiDestined.

"MOVE!" Leo shouted as he and Yusei grabbed their Digimon and jumped out of the way to dodge the deadly arcs. Unfortunately…

*CRASH!*

"OUR D-WHEELS!" Leo cried out in despair at seeing his beloved Lucky Streak being sent flying along with Yusei's D-Wheel.

"Worry about our lives first!" Yusei shouted, grabbing the blue-eyed teen's arm and pulling him to the entrance.

"You won't escape!" DaiSnimon roared as he made to follow.

"Petit Hail!"

"Lightning Fur!"

Only to be greeted by a barrage of ice and lightning-charged quills that struck his exoskeleton. "You little pests!" He growled.

"It's not working!" Leo cried out.

"Just keep running!" Yusei shouted.

"But where?!"

"Anywhere we can find cover!"

"We should Digivolve our partners! Maybe they'll have a chance against DaiSnimon." Leo suggested.

"Are you sure?"

"Better than running for our lives!" Leo said, forcing himself and Yusei to stop running. The Digimon then got in front of their partners, ready to digivolve.

"Yusei, you remember how to Digivolve me?" Bulucomon asked.

"I do," Yusei said, bringing up his Digivice and then clamping it onto his left wrist. The device locked onto it, and a holographic card then slipped out of the device, which he grabbed and flipped to show the face of the card.

"DigiAccess! Digivolution Hatsudou!"

He then crushed the holographic card, and the motes of light transferred over to and enveloped Bulucomon. A blue egg then surrounded the ice-like dragon as the crystal shards on his body grew large, and his body was growing larger as well.

"BULUCOMON SHINKA!"

When the transformation was complete, Bulucomon was no more. Instead, it was a bipedal dragon Digimon with blue skin and red eyes. Its head, limbs, and tail are entirely covered in ice with blue claws and metal armbands around its arms, along with white bandages around its legs. It also has two ice wings with a blue claw at the end. There is a large white fur covering most of its torso, with three white hexagons in the center of its chest. Overall, it looked like Bulucomon if he were an adult.

"PALEDRAMON!"

Leo produced his holographic card from his Digivice, spinning it on his finger before flipping it over to reveal the card's face.

"DigiAccess! Digivolution Hatsudou!"

He then crushed the holographic card, and the motes of light transferred over to and enveloped Herissmon. The hedgehog-like Digimon was then surrounded by a yellow egg as the fur and skin on his body began to peel off, revealing a yellow circuitry body beneath.

"HERISSMON SHINKA!"

The hedgehog Digimon's body suddenly started to grow taller and a little more humanoid. Skin and fur began to form around his new body while spikes emerged from specific points as well.

"FILMON!"

"I am Paledramon. My large wings of ice allow me to fly at high speed, even in foul weather. As to what I can do, my Precipitation Breath and Ice Age will chill my enemies to the bone."

"Alright! Let's do this, Paledramon!" Yusei told his partner.

"Back him up, Filmon!" Leo said to his partner.

"You got it!" Filmon and Paldramon nodded.

"Hah! You can't beat me this time! Not with this new power I have in me!" DaiSnimon boasted.

"We'll see about that!" Filmon challenged before he spun around, resembling a whirlwind. "Crimson Slash!"

"Not a chance!" DaiSnimon chuckled menacingly as the wings on his back began to vibrate. "Sonic Duster!" The vibrations from the wings reached an apex before blasting a vortex of wind at Filmon, striking the Champion-Level Digimon in the torso and sending him crashing into a building.

"Filmon!" Leo cried out for his partner.

"Ice Age!" Paledramon threw his head back and released an ice beam, surrounded by snow, towards DaiSnimon. It hit DaiSnimon on target as it was slowly freezing, but then vibrations from its wings shattered it shortly after.

"It didn't work!?" Yusei exclaimed in surprise.

DaiSnimon laughed mockingly, "You see? I'm more powerful than a Champion-Level Digimon! Maybe even an Ultimate! With this power, nothing will stop me!" The DM Champion Digimon's wings began to vibrate once more. "Sonic Duster!" This time, Paledramon took the hit full force and was sent flying before landing on a battered car.

"Paledramon!" Yusei cried out before running over to him. "Paledramon, are you okay?!"

"I'm alright…" Paledramon groaned, forcing himself to move. "But… he's so much stronger than us. Even with two Champion-Levels, we hardly scratched him."

Leo helped Filmon up and glared at the DM Champion, "Then maybe we should fight fire with fire!" He suggested.

"But Leo…" Filmon groaned in pain, "I don't know… if we can reach that level."

Leo smirked, "Hey, I'm the guy that Lady Luck favors the most. I got a feeling that we'll pull through."

"Other than your D-Wheel." Filmon pointed out.

"The point is, we're not gonna let this bug freak beat the hell out of us, just because he fused with a Duel Monster card!"

"But the Great Moth is a powerful card." Yusei pointed out. "We need a stronger Monster for it."

"That card's been outdated for how long? No one uses it anymore!" Leo stated as he reached into his Deck and pulled out one of his favored Synchro Monsters. "Time to show this outdated piece of code what the future looks like!"

Filmon grinned, "I'm with you all the way, Bro!"

Leo smirked as he brought up his Digivice. This time, it opened up to reveal a card slot.

"DM Card, Set!" He declared, placing his chosen card in the slot as the Digivice closed, revealing the image of Black Joker Knight. He raised his arm back, then punched it forward as a beam of light shot towards Filmon. "Synchronize!"

SYNCHRONIZATION ACTIVATED

"Chou DigiAccess! Synchro Digivolution Hatsudou!"

Filmon stood up, feeling a new power surge within him as he leapt into the air while the Digivice summoned forth Black Joker Knight, who flew after the Digimon and hovered behind it.

"FILMON! SYNCHRO SHINKA!"

Filmon's body glowed with a yellow light, then it began to morph, becoming slightly more humanoid than it had been before. Black Joker Knight's eyes flared for a moment before it shattered into pieces of black-white armor that clambered onto the glowing body. When the helmet and mask sealed around the head, the light dimmed to reveal a newly transformed Digimon.

In Filmon's place, it was a humanoid Digimon that resembled a crossbreed between a knight and a werewolf. It still retained Filmon's mane of spiky blonde hair and a few of his tail spikes. However, it's muzzle was shorter and covered by a white metal mask with black markings shaped like fangs and a pointed black nose, a black-white chest plate with golden spikes on the shoulder guards, black gauntlets with red clawed fingers and a golden spike on the elbows, black armored greaves with white plate boots that had three red toe claws fashioned on the end of the boots, a pair of scarlet red scarves tied around the neck and flowing behind it like a cape, a helmet shaped like Filmon's head with a golden head crest on the forehead, and a pair of twin single-edged longswords that seemed to have a mechanical function at the hilt and base of the blades. A pair of blue eyes flashed from the open eye holes of the helmet. The new Digimon slashed its twin swords and then posed with them.

"KNIGHTFILMON!"

"Whoa…" Leo said with awe.

"KnightFilmon. It is thanks to the power of Synchro Digivolution that I can attain this form. Fused with Leo's Black Joker Knight, I have obtained the ability to fly and utilize swordsmanship. My Misfortune Cutter will slice down villains, and my Zero Redemption wipes out injustice!"

"Is that… really Filmon?" Yusei wondered as he, too, was in awe.

"Impossible! How could you Digivolve like me?!" DaiSnimon demanded.

KnightFilmon smirked behind his helmet, "My bond with my partner is stronger than ever. He believed not only in me but in the faith of the card that now empowers me." He directed his left sword hand at his opponent. "Come, DaiSnimon! It is time to finish this!"

"Grrrr! I will feast on your Digicore!" DaiSnimon roared as he flew at the Synchro Champion.

"You're not the only one who can fly," KnightFilmon said as the scarves around his neck suddenly straightened out, then propelled him forward like vernier engines. The edges of his blades glowed a brilliant yellow as he crossed them together in front of him. "Misfortune Cutter!" He roared, slashing with his glowing blades.

Yellow blades of energy shot out of the sword in an 'X' formation, soaring towards DaiSnimon.

"Twin Venom!" DaiSnimon countered, releasing the purple energy blades, which collided with the yellow and both exploded on contact.

Smoke blocked the insect's vision as his antenna tried to search for his prey. However, he was not expecting KnightFilmon to suddenly come barreling right at him and smash his face in with an armored boot.

"Gahhhhhh!"

"Yeah, get him, KnightFilmon!" Leo cheered.

The Synchro Champion continued his assault, slashing and kicking at DaiSnimon faster than he could react. It was like trying to fight the light itself.

"How!? How can I be losing?! I should be stronger! My new form is supposed to be stronger!!!" DaiSnimon roared in anger.

"I don't have that answer for you. All I can say is that you will not be winning this fight." KnightFilmon remarked as he continued his fast-paced attacks, slashing with all the ferocity of a beast yet with the precision of a swordsman.

He kicked him once more, sending him flying to gain distance between them before KnightFilmon decided it was time to end it.

"This is it. My final attack!" KnightFilmon declared as he put his swords together, and a blade of light shot out from the base of the blade. "Zero Redemption!" He roared out his attacks as a beam of light was shot from his combined weapon.

DaiSnimon saw this and felt the power of the attack coming towards him. He knew he was going to be destroyed. "Ultimate Twin Venom!" He shouted as he swung, releasing multiple crescent energy beams at him, but the beam of light shattered the attacks into pieces, shocking DaiSnimon before the light struck him. "Noooo! This… can't be… happening! AAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!" The torrent of light tore through his body, before it ignited him on fire, burning him alive.

KnightFilmon looked at his incinerating opponent with pity, "I hope the next time we meet, you won't be as violent." He then looked towards his partner. "Leo! Now!"

"Got it!" Leo held up his Digivice. Drawing a holographic card, he held up a blank side at the defeated Digimon. "DigiCode Download!"

A beam of light shot out of the Digivice, then it struck DaiSnimon, absorbing his data into the card. The holographic image soon materialized into a real card, which displayed DaiSnimon's stats and abilities. "Heh. Download complete."

[End theme]

With a nod, KnightFilmon glowed before splitting into the two forms that created it. Filmon and Black Knight Joker. The latter went back into the card while Filmon reverted to his Rookie Form, falling from the sky with Leo catching him after.

"How are you feeling, buddy?" Leo asked his partner.

"Hungry…" Herissmon groaned, rubbing his belly with his paws.

"I certainly don't blame you." Paledramon groaned as he, too, reverted to his Rookie form. "'Cause I'm hungry too…"

Leo and Yusei looked at each other before sharing an amused laugh.

"It's not funny. I'm starving." Herissmon whined.

"Wish we could feed ya, but here in Satellite, food is rare to find these days," Leo said.

"Nooooooo…" The hedgehog Digimon whined.

Yusei shook his head in amusement before he glanced over to the fallen wreckage of his and Leo's D-Wheels. His own didn't seem all that damaged. Just a few scratches in the paint and a few minor dents. Leo's D-Wheel, on the other hand…

"Ah, man! You gotta be kidding me!?" Leo exclaimed in comical despair. The Lucky Streak was beyond recognition. The front axle was shattered, the back tire was gone, and the body of the machine was broken and twisted. Overall, it no longer looked like a D-Wheel. "All those months… all that money spent…"

Yusei offered his friend a consolation pat, "If it makes you feel better, it's not as bad as it looks."

Leo looked up at the crab-haired teen with a stare, "Not as bad as it looks?"

"Okay, poor choice of words. But maybe we can fix it-"

Before Yusei could finish his sentence, Leo's Digivice glowed before it sent a beam at the wreckage of the Lucky Streak. The teens and the Digimon watched with abrupt surprise as the D-Wheel was repaired and even given a new appearance. Now the Lucky Streak was streamlined, looking like something straight out of the future, with glowing yellow circuit lines beneath the thick, dark plating that protected the inner workings of the motorcycle.

"Ohohoho, yeah!" Leo cheered with excitement as he approached his new and improved D-Wheel, running his hands along its surface. "Oh man, my baby just got a major upgrade!"

"But how?" Yusei pondered in confusion.

"Who cares how! Now I don't have to spend months fixing it up!" Leo stated. He didn't care what his Digivice did, but it had just repaired his Lucky Streak, and he was happy to have his ride ready.

However, Herissmon chimed in, "Bro, I'm still hungry!" He whined.

"Don't you worry, pal. I'll treat you to as much food as you can eat!" Leo said, unbearably happy.

"Yay!" The hedgehog Digimon cheered.

Bulucomon looked up at his human partner, "Yusei, you've been quiet for a while."

"I'm just thinking about the coming days. Snimon mentioned us as DigiDestined…" Yusei said with a grim frown. "I haven't heard that name in so long. It's been several years… so that could only mean that our troubles with the Digital World are only beginning."

Meanwhile, in Jack Atlas's manor, the Riding Duel King was sitting at his favorite recliner while a steaming cup of Blue-Eyes coffee was laid on the coffee table in front of him. All he had been doing for the evening was looking out at the night sky; the city lights doing little to diminish the beauty of the celestial body that hovered over Neo Domino City.

"Jack, you've been staring at the moon for a while now." A voice drew the young man's attention to a small, dragon-like creature with glowing yellow eyes.

"I just have a feeling that I'll be seeing some old friends quite soon." He replied, taking a sip of his steaming cup of coffee. "Besides, aren't you excited to see them again as well, Vorvomon?"

The dragon creature stepped out of the shadows, revealing itself to be the familiar form (to Jack) of Vorvomon, the rock dragon Digimon that bonded with Jack when he was a boy back in the Digital World. "Of course, I want to see everyone again." He chirped. "But you've been different in the time we've been apart."

"I'm not different. I've been the same since I was a kid. I just… grew up." Jack stated. His eyes glanced down to his own Digivice and his Deck of Duel Monster cards, or rather, one specific card that rested on top.

"And as King, it was time to leave childish dreams behind."

A full week had passed since Leo, Yusei, and Crow were reunited with their Digimon partners: Herissmon, Bulucomon, and Falcomon.

A full week of Yusei tuning and testing his new D-Wheel. During that time frame, Yusei's other friends met with Bulucomon and were initially surprised by the Digimon. However, they started to warm up to the ice dragon, who liked having new human friends that didn't run away from him.

Currently, Bulucomon was sitting on the sofa that made up Yusei's home within the subway as he waited for his Tamer to return from his latest test run on his D-Wheel.

"I wonder if Yusei managed to succeed?" The ice dragon pondered to himself as he lightly kicked his lower paws to pass the time and amuse himself.

Suddenly, his keen hearing caught wind of footsteps approaching from the subway tunnel. Stepping out of the barely noticeable light was Yusei with his helmet on as he pushed his D-Wheel back to its stand. Bulucomon noticed a sparking hole from the side of his partner's motorcycle.

"What happened, Yusei?" The ice dragon Digimon asked.

"Another failure…" The crab-haired teen replied bluntly with a tinge of annoyance that his latest find of an Acceleration Chip had been a dud. He heard cheering echoing from the television and figured his human friends were watching a Duel. "Riding Duel?"

"Riding Duel." Bulucomon replied.

Yusei sighed as he continued to push his D-Wheel back to its proper place near his workspace. Bulucomon followed after the crab-haired teen as the others kept watching the end of the Riding Duel.

That's when he heard his voice, "If a King went all out right from the start, it'd be over in a second!"

Yusei scowled, just hearing that same arrogant, pompous voice only reminded him of what he had lost.

"The King's dueling must be entertainment for all!"

Even as Yusei repaired his D-Wheel, he could never forget the misdeeds his former friend had done to him. Pulling the accelerator, the D-Wheel sputtered loudly yet came out rather weak. This also drew the attention of the others.

"Oh, Yusei. Sorry," Nerve, a young man with a blue bandana wrapped around his head, apologized.

"Jack's been bugging us after all. This is the only other place the TV can get reception." Taka, a rather stocky-looking young man, rubbed the back of his head.

Blitz, a skinny young man with navy blue hair and wearing small glasses, smirked, "He sure was something. He's getting even stronger."

Yusei listened to his friends talk about Jack while he plugged in cables to his D-Wheel's interface, connecting it to his laptop. "Was he facing a wimp?" He asked.

Nerve nodded, "Yeah, Jack completely toyed around with him."

After doing a quick repair on his D-Wheel, Yusei replied, "He was probably no big deal, then…"

The trio were silent for a few seconds before Taka brought up the important question, "Say, how's your D-Wheel holding up?"

"Don't go there." Nerve chastised. "You can tell just by looking, can't you?"

"Yeah, true." The stocky teen slouched in his seat. "Wonder what's up with Jack's D-Wheel from befor-"

"Get a clue already!" Nerve forced Taka's head down, much to his discomfort.

"But we're all mad at Jack!" Taka remarked after shoving Nerve's hand from his head. "If truth be told, Yusei would probably be the King in that stadium." His friends offered no retort, allowing him to continue. "To top it off, that damn Jack even took the D-Wheel that Yusei managed to build."

Bulucomon approached the crab-haired teen, "Yusei?"

Said boy paused in his repairs and gave his Digimon partner a reassuring grin. "I'm alright. Really." He replied, petting Bulucomon on the head, much to his enjoyment.

Suddenly, the dragon Digimon's keen hearing detected the sound of footsteps rapidly approaching, followed by a high-pitched voice. "Yusei!" Hearing the voice, Bulucomon perked up as he ran towards the entrance to the subway.

Approaching the group was a young boy (yes, it is a boy), who despite his feminine appearance and voice, was most assuredly male. Even his clothes were rather feminine. The only thing that seemed out of place was the small triangular yellow marker on his left cheek.

"Rally!" Bulucomon greeted the boy with a wave of his paws.

"Hey, Bulucomon!" Rally returned the greeting by petting the dragon Digimon on his head.

"Yo, Rally." Nerve waved to the boy, who returned the gesture.

"What's the big rush?" Blitz pondered.

Rally approached Yusei, who had paused in his repairs on his D-Wheel. Reaching into his coat pocket, the boy pulled out a small object, holding it out to Yusei. "You can use this for your D-Wheel, can't you?"

Yusei eyed the object, revealing it to be an Acceleration Chip…one that was suspiciously brand new.

"Hey, this is brand new, isn't it?!" Nerve demanded, grasping Rally's wrist so he could examine the chip. "Where'd you get this?!"

Rally yanked his arm out of Nerve's grip, "N-No, you got it wrong! I found this in some junk." He reasoned, looking away from his friends.

Nerve, Blitz, and Tak looked at one another, clearly not believing the boy. Nerve looked at Rally with a stern glare, "You haven't been stealing again, have you?"

Rally said nothing, which had Taka add in his own statement, "If we get caught with that, we'll all end up getting sent to a Facility."

Blitz lightly fingers the small yellow marking on Rally's cheek. "I'd sure hate to end up with one of these on my face."

"Enough." Yusei interjected, silencing the squabbling of his friends. He approached Rally and took the Acceleration Chip from the boy. He placed the chip in a circuit board then slid it back into his D-Wheel. Grabbing the accelerator, he gave it a good rev and smiled when he heard a loud ring echoing from his new ride. "This will work just nicely."

"Alright! I knew the chip would work!" Rally cheered.

Though the trio were impressed, it was Bulucomon who was equally excited. The ice dragon picked up Yusei's helmet and held it up. "Yusei, let's try it out!"

However, before the crab-haired teen could respond, a light suddenly shone over the crack in the subway tunnel.

["Rally Dawson! Come out with your hands up!"] A voice called over the loudspeaker. ["You are under arrest under suspicion of stealing government property."]

"Rally!" Nerve scolded.

"I didn't steal anything! I swear!" Rally reasoned. "I wanted to help Yusei, that's all!"

"Even still-" Nerve brought up his fist with the intent to punish the boy but Yusei intervened by holding his arm out.

"That's enough." He said as he strolled over to his computer.

"We can't get out of here with that marker on Rally. It's sending a signal that's linked up to Security!" Tak pointed out.

"Which is why I'm going to jam it." Yusei said, typing into his computer. "That should give you guys enough time to escape while Bulucomon and I distract Security and get them far away as possible ."

"Wait, we're gonna what?!" Bulucomon cried out in shock.

"Relax. You can always go into Champion Level and scare them off that way." Yusei assured his Digimon partner. "Besides, I wanna test out this new chip."

The ice dragon groaned but figured his Tamer knew what he was doing. So he hopped up in front of Yusei and used his ice powers to give himself a helmet of his own. "Okay, I trust you, Yusei."

"Good." Yusei nodded, before typing into the computer and pressed a key to start the jamming program. "You guys should go now. The jamming signal will only last for so long." He told his friends. With that said, he revved the accelerator and his D-Wheel took off toward the West Domino Subway entrance.

*BZZZZZZT! BZZZZZZZZZZZT! BZZZZZZZT!*

"What the- sir! The signal is being jammed!" A Security officer shouted.

Sitting on his own Security-issued D-Wheel, Officer Ushio scowled when he heard such a thing. "Sounds like some of the gutter trash managed to scramble their marker signal. Everyone, get ready to move in and-"

*VROOOOOOM! VRRROOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

"What the-!"

*VRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

Flying out of the subway and landing on the streets was Yusei on his D-Wheel. The bike caught some hang time as it flew over Ushio and the officers before landing on the ground, swerving, and darting off.

"Dammit! After him!" Ushio ordered.

As Yusei's D-Wheel fled from Security, he was going over the perks of the chip that Rally had given him. The front and back tire output, the rotational speed balance control…they were all perfect. His D-Wheel had finally been completed.

"Hey, you on the D-Wheel!" Ushio shouted. "You've got nowhere to run! Pull over!"

"Sorry, no can do." Yusei said, as he revved his D-Wheel and went faster, going ahead of him.

"Damn Satellite punk!" Ushio snarled as he went in pursuit. He inched closer and closer, but as he did, he noticed something odd at the front of his D-Wheel. It was…why was there an oversized blue lizard riding the front?!

"Hello~!" Bulucomon waved at the officer with his claw.

"The hell is that ugly thing?!"

"Rude! I'm a cute dragon!"

"And it talks too?!"

Yusei rolled his eyes in amusement before he drove his D-Wheel in a tight corner that he stopped to look at the approaching Security D-Wheel and the cruiser behind it.

The officer on the D-Wheel skid to a stop, hopped off his ride, and approached the teen. He pressed the right side of his helmet, raising the visor, "Hey, where'd you steal that D-Wheel from?" He questioned.

Yusei only gave him silence while staring at the officer.

Ushio noticed a particular detail that got him laughing for a bit. "No marker, eh? Hah! So you're just a decoy? I guess scum stick their necks out for fellow scum, huh?"

"That's not a nice thing to say." Bulucomon chimed in, shocking the other officers that stepped out of the cruiser.

"The hell is that?!" One of them asked.

"Shoot it, shoot it!" Another added, about to reach for his gun.

"I wouldn't recommend that." Yusei stated.

Ushio narrowed his eyes at the crab-haired teen. "Ignoring the mutant lizard for a minute. Thanks to you aiding in the escape, you did a fine job giving us reasons to place you under custody. But I better ask you where that D-Wheel came from."

"Hey…" Yusei spoke, getting the officer's attention. "Duel me."

"Huh?"

"I said to duel me."

"And why should I?" Ushio sneered at Yusei.

"If I win, you'll forget everything that happened today. If you win, I'll turn myself in and you get my partner." Yusei stated.

The other officer didn't seem so willing to consider, "You're crazy if you think-"

He was cut off when Ushio brought up his arm. "Why not? I'm game for it." He said with a smirk.

"Officer Ushio?"

"Go back to HQ. Tell them I'll have the suspect apprehended once I win this Riding Duel." He said, before looking at the officers with a glare. "Unless you want to be demoted to handing out parking tickets."

The officer wisely returned to his cruiser, informing his partner of Ushio's decision before they drove away with the helicopter following close behind.

"You're quite the interesting guy." Yusei remarked.

"What're you driving at?" Ushio questioned.

"I never trusted Security, but duelists are a different story." Yusei said. "You entered this Duel, so I'll trust you."

"Heh, sure whatever you say." Ushio scoffed. "But at the end of the day, you're still Satellite scum."

Bulucomon looked up at his Tamer, "Yusei, are you sure about this?"

Yusei patted the ice dragon Digimon on the head in reassurance, "Don't worry. I don't intend to lose."

Soon the two D-Wheels were parked side-by-side as they were ready to enter this Riding Duel. "Hope you're ready to lose." The officer said as he pressed a button on his console. "Field Spell! Speed World! Set On!"

DUEL MODE, ON. AUTO-PILOT, STANDBY.

As the computer announced those words, both screens showed a reverse card of a Duel Monsters card, before flipping over, revealing the Field Spell, Speed World before both screens showed the Duel Fields. Then an aura shot out of both D-Wheels, their surroundings having a negative filming effect. This locked both D-Wheelers into the Riding Duel.

"Whoa…trippy." Bulucomon commented.

With the world around set for the D-Wheelers, both Duelists announced at the same time.

"RIDING DUEL! ACCELERATION!"

In a split second, their D-Wheels automatically took off. The on-board computers mapping out a makeshift track for the Duelists to use.

"I'll take the first move!" Ushio declared with a smirk as he slapped a card on his Duel Disk. "I summon Assault Gundog!" Appearing from a blue portal running beside the officer is a dog covered in green military armor with guns and an ammo belt situated on its body, growling menacingly (4/1200/800).

"Uh…nice doggy?" Bulucomon said weakly, only for the dog to bark at him. "Gah!"

"I'd keep your pet away. My Gundog is looking mighty hungry." Ushio taunted his opponent before he took another card from his hand. "I place a card face-down and end my turn!"

Yusei drew a card from his Deck, "It's my turn." He glanced at the image of the card and immediately played it. "I summon Speed Warrior!"

Coming out of a portal was an armored roller blading warrior, equipped with what looked like a mask for fighter pilots and small boosters attached to its heels for faster speed. (2/900/400).

"And what's that gonna do?" Ushio taunted.

"I'll show you. Battle! Speed Warrior attacks Assault Gundog!" Yusei declared. "When he attacks on the turn he's summoned, his ATK power doubles!"

As Speed Warrior advanced towards his foe, a blue aura surrounded his form as his ATK strength doubled (ATK: 900-1800). Assault Gundog tried to deter the roller blading warrior with its mounted assault guns but Speed Warrior effortlessly avoided the bullets.

"Sonic Edge!"

Yusei's Monster performed a handstand then spun like a hurricane. His jet-boosted kick striking Assault Gundog in the face as the cyborg canine released a pained cry before shattering into yellow particles.

Ushio LP: 4000-3400

The officer scowled. "You've gone and done it now." Then he smirked. "But I have a special effect too!" The moment he finished his sentence, a card of Assault Gundog appeared on the Field before a new cyborg Doberman took its fallen comrade's place. "When Assault Gundog is sent to the Graveyard through battle, I can Special Summon another Assault Gundog from my deck!"

Yusei narrowed his eyes but didn't let it phase him. "I place one card face-down and end my turn." He announced, playing his face-down card.

With his turn ended, Yusei's Speed Warrior lost its blue aura, reverting its ATK points back to 900.

"It's my turn!" Ushio declared, drawing his card. "I'll Tribute my Assault Gundog, to advance summon, Cuff Dragon!" The cyborg hound glowed white as it leapt into the air then it turned inside out to resemble a rainbow-colored portal. From out of the portal came a slim dragon-like creature with giant cuff-like jaws and a large cuff tail (5/1800/1800). "Battle! Cuff Dragon, Cuff Shoot!"

The dragon tried to attack Speed Warrior but Yusei interjected, "I activate a Trap! Scrap-Metal Scarecrow!" Just as the card stated, a scarecrow made out of iron and scraps appeared and it clashed with the handcuff-like lizard. "This trap protects me from your attack and after that, it gets reset."

"I don't think so. I activate my own face-down! Trap card, Wiretap!" Ushio declared, activating his face-down. "This card negates a Trap card's activation and returns it to your deck!"

As he said this, Scrap-Metal Scarecrow disappeared in a purple haze, leaving Speed Warrior helpless against Ushio's Monster.

"Now, sick him, Cuff Dragon!" The officer ordered. The handcuff dragon flew over to Speed Warrior and clamped its cuff-like jaws onto the rollerblade warrior, squeezing the life out of him before he was crushed into pixels.

Yusei's LP: 4000-3100

Both D-Wheels passed one another. However, Ushio decided to add a little taunt. "No matter how good your front with that mish-mash deck of cards you picked up is, trash will always be trash!"

Yusei scowled. "It's my turn!" He declared, drawing a card from his Deck.

"I summon Road Runner in defense mode!" Yusei declared, as a small pink chick wearing boots appeared out of a portal with a squawk before its body turned several shades of blue (1/300/300). "Then, I place two cards face-down to end my turn." After playing his cards, they appeared briefly on the field before disappearing.

"You think that chicken is going to save you?" Ushio sneered.

"He sure likes to hear himself talk, huh?" Bulucomon commented.

"Yeah, he never shuts up." Yusei replied.

"I heard that!" Ushio snapped.

"You were supposed to." Bulucomon said. "You sure are stupid for a human."

Ushio snarled. "When I win this Duel, I'm gonna personally drag you to a Facility and watch the doctors poke and prod every inside of your body, you little newt!" He angrily drew a card from his Deck. "It's my turn!"

When the Security officer looked at the card he drew, he gained a wicked smile. Afterwards, he sent three cards from his hand to his Graveyard. "Here we go! Level four, level three, level three-" As he said this, three Monster cards hovered around him. "By sending the three mentioned cards to the Graveyard from my hand, I'll Special Summon Montage Dragon!"

A portal opened up and a three-headed dragon that was purple-skinned with large claws for hands and feet, as well as white masks covering their eyes and over their heads appeared as the three heads roared (8/?/0).

Ushio's smirk widened. "Its attack power is equal to the combined levels of the monsters sent to the Graveyard by this effect times 300!" He explained it as Montage Dragon's ATK rose (ATK: ?-3000).

Yusei looked at the reader showing up on his visor's HUD. "3000…"

"Cuff Dragon, attack his Road Runner! Cuff Shoot!" Ushio ordered his Level 5 Monster. The cuff dragon did as told as it squeezed the life out of the pink bird before crushing it into pixels. "And now I'll have Montage Dragon attack you directly! Power Collage!" Three dragonic heads rose up, orbs of energy gathering in their maws before they unleashed a triple-colored blast at Yusei, striking at his D-Wheel and draining his Life Points.

"WAAAAHHH!" The shockwave from the attack nearly threw Bulucomon off the D-Wheel but Yusei managed to wrap an arm around his partner to keep him from falling.

Yusei gritted his teeth in annoyance. "Damn, my Speed Counters…" He grimaced. "You okay?"

"Y-Yeah…that was too close…" Bulucomon nodded shakily.

"You only have 100 Life Points left, scumbag." Ushio stated. "I end my turn."

Yusei prepared to draw a card and silently prayed to his Deck, believing in each card to see him through. When he drew his next card, a small smirk appeared on his face. "Here it is…"

"I summon the Tuner Monster, Junk Synchron!" Yusei declared. Emerging from a blue portal was an orange-beige garbed cyborg as it looked ready for a fight (3/1300/500).

"A Tuner Monster?!" Ushio gawked. "Where the hell did you get that?!"

"You should be worrying about my next move." Yusei remarked as he pressed a button on his Duel Disk. "I activate the Trap card, Angel Lift!" A Trap Carp with the image of a skeleton rising from the grave with the help of cherubs appeared beside Yusei. "This card has an effect that can Special Summon a Level 2 or lower monster in my Graveyard! Come now, Speed Warrior!" Emerging from the Trap card was the roller blading warrior, ready to fight once more.

"What's happening?!" Ushio cried out in surprise.

"I tune my Level 2 Speed Warrior with my Level 3 Junk Synchron!" Yusei declared, as Junk Synchron flew ahead of Speed Warrior. Junk Synchron pulled the cord on the engine that was on its back and revved with life before it glowed orange, and soon Junk Synchron itself. The Tuner Monster turned into three Synchro Gates while Speed Warrior went in the tunnel of rings, becoming an orange outline of itself, leaving behind two stars.

"Gathering stars will call upon a new force! Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Show yourself, Junk Warrior!"

Emerging from the pillar of light is a purple-armored warrior with jet boosters mounted on its back, a white scarf wrapped around its neck, a large right gauntlet with a knuckle duster, and an oval-shaped helmet with a tan mask and glowing red goggle-like eyes. The Synchro Monster posed in a fighting position, ready to deliver a good punch (5/2300/1300).

"Impossible! How did that Satellite scum manage to Synchro Summon?!" Ushio exclaimed in disbelief. "But it doesn't hold a candle to my Montage Dragon's ATK power."

"I wonder about that." Yusei smirked.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" Ushio narrowed his eyes.

"I activate a Speed Spell! Vision-Wind!" Yusei announced, playing said Speed Spell on his Duel Disk.

"A Speed Spell?!" Ushio cried out. "That little punk… I reduced his Speed with that direct attack, too… Damn him for messing with me!"

"This card can Special Summon one Level 2 or lower monster in my Graveyard. I Special Summon the Level 2 Speed Warrior!" Yusei declared, as the rollerblade warrior appeared in a gust of wind. "Next, Junk Warrior's Monster effect! The combined attack power of all Level 2 or lower monsters on my side of the Field are added to Junk Warrior!"

Speed Warrior began to glow brightly before his ATK power was added to Junk Warrior, raising it by 900, evident by the same glow that surrounded the Synchro Monster (2300-3200).

"That's-!"

"More than enough for me to take it down! Battle! Junk Warrior attacks Cuff Dragon! Scrap Fist!" Yusei ordered. Junk Warrior ignited its boosters and threw a powered up haymaker into Cuff Dragon's face, destroying it into yellow particles.

Ushio's LP: 3400-2000/SPC: 5-4

"Tch… damn, Satellite Punk!" Ushio scowled before he smirked. "You may have destroyed my Cuff Dragon in favor of damage, but you've only sped up the outcome!"

"And how's that?" Yusei asked.

Suddenly, a hologram of Cuff Dragon materialized before it lunged at Junk Warrior, locking onto him like its namesake. Another factor is that Junk Warrior's ATK suddenly fell (ATK: 3200-1400).

"When Cuff Dragon is destroyed as a result of battle, it becomes an Equip card on an opposing monster and decreases the equipped monster's attack power by its own attack power!" Ushio explained. "This is the end! There's just no escaping authority for you all!"

"Sorry, but I don't intend to lose." Yusei said. "Which is why I'll play this! Trap activate! Equip Shoot! This will have your Cuff Dragon latch onto your Montage Dragon!"

"WHAT?!"

Junk Warrior ripped off Cuff Dragon then threw the beast at Montage Dragon. The former latched onto the latter who roared as its power was being drained from its body. (3000-1200)

"Impossible! There's no way scum like you just beat me!" Ushio denied.

"Looks like you really are stupid! Behhhhh!" Bulucomon pulled his bottom left eyelid down while sticking out his tongue.

"I should also mention that Equip Shoot has both monsters affected by it, battle this turn." Yusei pointed out. "Junk Warrior!" The aforementioned warrior's eyes flared as it released a battle cry. "Scrap Fist!" Then flew towards the powered down Montage Dragon and punched it with a giant purple outline of its fist.

"GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ushio cried out as his dragon exploded, and the rest of his Life Points dropped to 0.

With his defeat, Ushio's D-Wheel suddenly released a bunch of steam from opened ports in the undercasing. This prompted the Security officer to pull to a full stop. Yusei also stopped his D-Wheel a few feet in front of him. "I won. So you have to hold up your end of the deal."

Ushio growled. "Don't think this is over, brat. I'm gonna crush you one day."

"Someone like you who considers cards to be 'trash' has no right to be a Duelist. Remember that the next time you judge a book by its cover." Yusei remarked before revving the engine and took off, leaving the fuming man by his lonesome.

"DAMN YOU!" Ushio snarled, slamming his fist on the screen.

"Oh man, that was too close for comfort." Bulucomon said as he and Yusei were driving home.

"I told you I had no intention of losing." Yusei reminded his partner with a small grin.

"Yeah, but I nearly fell off this thing."

"Sorry."

"Well, at the very least, those Security guys won't go after us… for now."

"Yeah, let's head back home. I'm sure the others are waiting for us."

"Okay, and maybe-" Bulucomon paused as his pupils narrowed into slits. "I smell a Digimon."

"What?"

"A Digimon. I sense it. And it's coming fast! Yusei, you better go full throttle!"

Yusei didn't bother arguing with his partner as he floored it on his D-Wheel. "Any idea where it is?"

"It's coming from right behind-!"

*CRASH!*

The building behind Yusei shattered, forcing him to avoid any debris that threatened to fall on him and his partner. Emerging from the dust cloud was what looked to be a giant eagle-like creature with horns.

"What the-!" Yusei got out. "Who is that?!"

"What's it doing here?" Yusei questioned. "How did it even appear in the human world?"

"Don't worry about that! Just keep driving!"

Aquilamon looked around before noticing the fleeing Yusei. "I found you! You're not getting away!" Aquilamon shouted, before flying after him.

"Damn, this guy is definitely not going to give up." Yusei cursed as he drove his D-Wheel down the ruined streets of Satellite. "Bulucomon, you up for a fight?"

"Big time, Yusei!" The ice dragon Digimon replied with a nod.

The crab-haired teen brought up his Digivice, "Then it's time to Digivolve!"

"Yeah!" Bulucomon exclaimed as he leapt off Yusei's D-Wheel.

Yusei locked his Digivice onto his wrist then drew the holographic card then flipped it over to reveal the face of the card.

"DigiAccess! Digivolution Hatsudou!"

He then crushed the holographic card and the motes of light transferred over to and enveloped Bulucomon.

"BULUCOMON SHINKA!"

The ice-like dragon was then surrounded by a blue egg as the crystal shards on his body grew larger and his body was growing larger as well. When the transformation was complete, the Champion Level stood in his place.

"PALEDRAMON!"

"Take it down, Paledramon!" Yusei told his partner as he brought his D-Wheel to a halt.

"Roger that!" Paledramon nodded as he flew up towards Aquilamon to engage it in battle.

"Fool! I am the ruler of the skies! None shall surpass me!" Aquilamon shouted as it dived towards Paledramon. "Glide Horn!"

"Crap!" Paledramon brought up his claws to block the attack. Aquilamon slammed into the ice dragon Digimon, who was struggling to push him back.

"Don't give up, Paledramon!" Yusei called out. "You've got this!"

Paledramon's red eyes gleamed from hearing his Tamer believe in him. "You're right! I got this!" His claws grabbed onto Aquilamon's horns then he used his strength to throw his opponent into a building.

"Nice work!" Yusei praised the ice dragon.

"I still got it!" Paledramon cheered, but his victory was short-lived as Aquilamon came flying out of the debris and gored him with the horns. "GAHHH!"

"Paledramon!" Yusei cried out to his partner.

"I told you, I rule the skies! I will not be so easily beaten!" Aquilamon taunted his foe as he pushed his horns deeper into Paledramon's body, eliciting a roar of pain from the ice dragon. "Now, disappear with the rest of the trash!"

Yusei's eyes widened when he heard that word. "Trash?" He repeated.

"Blast Laser!" Aquilamon shouted and fired off ring-shaped beams with a roar similar to thunder.

Yusei began to panic. If that attack hit then his Digimon partner would be destroyed. He needed to help him but-

A memory of Leo using one of his Duel Monster cards to help his partner enter his mind.

"That's it!" Yusei exclaimed as he drew a card from his Deck, his Digivice opened up to reveal a card slot that he placed his card in. "DM Card, Set!" The slot closed, revealing the image of the card. He reared his fist back and punched it forward, a beam of light shot towards Paledramon. "Synchronize! Scrap-Metal Scarecrow!"

The beam of light shot towards Paledramon and said scrap-metal scarecrow appeared in front of his partner Digimon, taking the full brunt of the attack before the rings dispersed.

"WHAT?!" Aquilamon roared in disbelief, before it focused on Yusei. "You…"

"It's not just him you're fighting here, you overgrown pigeon!" Yusei declared, bringing up his Digivice. "Just as my partner fights to protect me, I fight to protect him too!"

"Yusei…" Paledramon looked at the crab-haired teen with awe.

"So that's how it is." Aquilamon said. "Fine then, I'll destroy you too! You're nothing but trash! Glide Horn!"

The giant bird Digimon dived towards Yusei, who quickly revved his D-Wheel to spin around and avoid Aquilamon's attack from hitting him. "Paledramon, freeze his wings!"

"You got it!" Paledramon replied as he regained his second wind, despite his injuries. "Ice Age!" Paledramon threw his head back and released an ice beam with snow surrounding it at Aquilamon.

"I don't think so! Wind Breath!" Aquilamon inhaled and blew a large breath of air to disperse the snow.

Yusei cursed, "In that case, we'll try a close-up attack!"

"Alright!" Paledramon used his frosty powers to surround himself in what can only be described as a giant block of ice. "Meteor Hail!" Then he charges at full speed towards the great eagle Digimon.

"Blast Shot!" Aquilamon called out as it shrieked, sending ballistic waves and attacks at Paledramon.

The attacks struck the block of ice but it held firm even as it slowly began to crack. Paledramon roared as he slammed directly into Aquilamon's torso, causing the giant bird to gag in pain.

"You…!" Aquilamon snarled before it used its sharp beak to bite down on Paledramon's shoulder after his ice shattered from the impact.

"Argh!"

"Paledramon!" Yusei cried out, before pulling out another card. "DM Card, Set!" He placed the card into the Digivice. "Synchronize! Cosmic Blast!"

When the beam of light hit him, Paledramon's eyes glowed violet for a brief moment before he roared and an offensive violet aura pushed Aquilamon back before blasting towards the giant bird Digimon like falling stars. Aquilamon flew away from the purple stars, trying to avoid them to the best of its abilities.

"Oraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraora!" Paledramon shouted.

"Dammit! You persistent fool!" Aquilamon growled as it narrowly avoided another purple blast. "Like this will stop me!"

"It will eventually! I just have to keep it up!" Paledramon said.

"Don't mess with me! Glide Horn!" Aquilamon angrily roared as it dived straight towards Paledramon, ignoring the purple stars that struck his body. "I will not lose to trash like you!"

While Aquilamon made what could only be attributed as a suicide charge, a discarded Duel Monsters card that rested in the rubble felt the Digimon's desire to win…

…it responded to that desire.

Aquilamon roared as it dived towards Paledramon, unaware that it started glowing a dark violet color.

"AQUILAMON! DUEL SHINKA!"

Aquilamon's body began to change shape, becoming humanoid in appearance before it slowly gained a more feminine form. Once the glow dispersed, Aquilamon looked like a crossbreed between its Champion Level form and Harpie Queen. It had a voluptuous hourglass figure similar to a woman yet its arms were bird wings with razor sharp claws, three-toed feet, a white feathered collar, a skimpy leotard that showcased its womanly body, and the head was feminine complete with full pink lips, bright green eyes, and long dark brown hair in a high ponytail. It also had Aquilamon's horns resting atop her head.

"HARPIEAQUILAMON!"

"No way!" Paledramon exclaimed.

"It Digivolved- No, it Digivolved with a Duel Monster!" Yusei cried out, equally surprised. He brought up his Digivice to get a reading on his transformed foe.

"This power… Such a wonderful feeling!" HarpieAquilamon said in a feminine voice as she ran her clawed digits over her new body. Her green eyes landed on Paledramon with malicious intent. "And I shall use it to make you suffer!" She declared with a wicked grin.

Paledramon gritted his teeth, "I won't back down just because you got a new look, you-" He was cut off when the DM Champion suddenly appeared right in front of him. "Wha-!?"

"Too slow~!" HarpieAquilamon taunted as she brought up her claws. "Glide Claw!" She swiped her arms at the ice dragon Digimon, leaving deep gashes that spilled his DigiCode from the wounds.

"AAAARGH!"

"Paledramon!" Yusei cried out.

"And now it's your turn!" HarpieAquilamon turned to Yusei before flying towards him.

"Shit!" Yusei panicked.

"Crimson Slash!"

However, before HarpieAquilamon could turn Yusei into bloody ribbons, she was forced to avoid a crimson whirlwind from hitting. "Who dares?!" She demanded.

"Yo, Yusei! I leave you alone for a few hours to test your D-Wheel and I come back seeing you playing around with some flying skank?"

"Leo!" Yusei gasped as he saw the Lucky Duelist on his D-Wheel with Filmon staying in the middle between them and the new Digimon.

"Sorry, I would've been here sooner but I was having too much fun with my D-Wheel." Leo admitted with a sheepish grin.

"Nice to know you have your priorities straight…" Yusei deadpanned as he looked disappointed.

"Oi, don't you give me that look! I saved your sorry ass!" Leo shouted in comical anger.

"You should've saved it sooner…"

"Oh c'mon!"

"Yusei, a little help here would be nice!" Paledramon grunted, holding his wound.

"Ah, sorry, Paledramon." Yusei apologized to his partner.

HarpieAquilamon clicked her tongue in annoyance. "Another piece of trash decides to interfere in my fun? I'll eradicate you first!" She declared, flying towards Leo and Filmon.

"DM Card, Set!" Leo quickly placed a card in his Digivice. "Synchronize! Negate Attack!"

Filmon held out his paws just as HarpieAquilamon was about to swipe at him with her claws only to be repelled by an invisible barrier.

"What!?" HarpieAquilamon exclaimed in surprise.

"Sorry, you're gonna have to do better than that!" Leo taunted.

"Irritating piece of trash!" The DM Champion snarled.

Yusei narrowed his eyes. "If a regular Digimon won't be able to match her then we'll go beyond that."

Paledramon hovered over his Tamer's D-Wheel and nodded. "Beyond a DM Champion. Our bond will reach new heights!"

Yusei drew a card from his Extra Deck as the slot opened from his Digivice.

"DM Card, Set!" He declared, placing his chosen card in the slot as the Digivice closed, revealing the image of Junk Warrior. He raised his arm back then punched it forward as a beam of light shot towards Paledramon. "Synchronize!"

SYNCHRONIZATION ACTIVATED

"Chou DigiAccess! Synchro Digivolution Hatsudou!"

Paledramon roared, feeling a new power surge within him as he leapt into the air while the Digivice summoned forth Junk Warrior, who flew after the Digimon, and hovered behind it.

"PALEDRAMON! SYNCHRO SHINKA!"

Paledramon's body glowed an icy blue then it began to morph, becoming more humanoid. Junk Warrior released a war cry while its goggle red eyes flared before it turned into purple armor pieces that clambered onto the glowing body. Jet-like wings formed on the back. Robotic clawed fists clenched and flexed. A white scarf covered a barely concealed muzzle, silver rimmed goggles with red lens were fastened to a blue-scaled forehead while spiky white hair flowed.

In Paledramon's place, it was a humanoid Digimon that resembled a crossbreed between a cyborg warrior and a dragon. It retained Paledramon's white hair and his red eyes. However, its muzzle was slimmer and shorter, barely being revealed by the billowing white scarf wrapped around to the point its mouth was covered. Its torso was covered by purple armor with icy blue icicle spiked pauldrons, elbow guards, and knee guards. Two large robotic clawed hands covered by purple armor with what seemed to be DigiCode. Purple greaves with icicle spikes crawling up towards the waist. Black-purple armored boots with icy blue icicle toe claws. Finally, it had jet-like dragon wings on its back along with a tail made of pure living ice. For a final touch, it had a pair of silver-rimmed goggles with red lens resting on its scaly blue forehead. The new Digimon punched the air with its robot fists then posed in Junk Warrior's signature posture.

"RUSTPALEDRAMON!"

"RustPaledramon…" Yusei looked at his newly evolved Digimon partner in awe.

"Too freaking awesome!" Leo exclaimed with his eyes sparkling.

"I am RustPaledramon. By synchronizing with Yusei's Junk Warrior, I have gained a new power. My Frozen Knuckle will crush my foes and my Scrap Blizzard will freeze them in their tracks."

HarpieAquilamon flinched in surprise as she stared into the Synchro Champion's red eyes. "Wh-What is this feeling!?" She mumbled to herself.

"This is what you fear most! Prepare to be digitized!" RustPaledramon declared as he got in a fighting pose, pulling back his fist.

This served to anger the DM Champion as she glared daggers at RustPaledramon. "Damn you! I won't be beaten like this!" She roared, diving towards her enemy with her talons gleaming. "Glide Claw!"

"I don't think so! Frozen Knuckle!" RustPaledramon shouted as his metal fist was covered in ice before thrusting his arm towards HarpieAquilamon.

HarpieAquilamon swiped her claws at RustPaledramon only for said claws to shatter when they made contact with the ice covered fist. "Impossible!" She cried out.

"No! The finish!" Yusei and RustPaledramon shouted in unison as the Synchro Champion landed a punch on HarpieAquilamon. The ice slowly spreads throughout her body much to her growing horror.

"Noo! This can't be!"

"Go! Finish it off!" Yusei shouted to RustPaledramon.

"Hey! Don't leave me out of it!" Filmon called out. "Crimson Slash!" The spiky Champion Level became a whirlwind of crimson. HarpieAquilamon heard Filmon's proclamation of his attack but was too late as the hedgehog Digimon slashed her back, knocking her to the ground.

"The finisher!" RustPaledramon declared as he crossed his arms together while summoning his synchronized powers. "Scrap Blizzard!" Icicles shaped like pieces of literal junk formed out of thin air before the Synchro mentally sent his attack at HarpieAquilamon.

"This can't be!" HarpieAquilamon cried out before screaming in pain as the blizzard hail of scrap struck her body, weakening her to the point her data began to show.

"Yusei! Now!" Leo shouted.

"Got it!" Yusei nodded, before holding his Digivice parallel to his face. He drew a holographic card from it and held it out towards the defeated Digimon. "DigiCode Download!"

A beam of light shot out of the Digivice then it struck HarpieAquilamon, absorbing her data into the card. The holographic soon materialized into a real card which showed HarpieAquilamon's stats and abilities.

"Download complete." Yusei remarked, holding up the card.

[End theme]

With the current threat defeated, both RustPaledramon and Filmon glowed icy blue and yellow respectively before reverting back into their Rookie Level forms.

Yusei released a breath. "We managed to win."

"Nice work, Yusei! Bulucomon!" Leo praised his friends with a wide grin. "That Synchro Digivolution was pretty cool."

"Yeah, I was awesome!" Bulucomon chimed with a proud grin on his muzzle. But then he suddenly fell over.

"Bulucomon!" Yusei cried out, rushing over to him. "Are you okay?!"

*GROWL!*

"Hungryyyyyyyyyyyyy…"

Yusei quickly caught himself before he fell over. "I should've known…"

Leo laughed out loud followed soon after by Yusei. The two human teens laughed in amusement while their Digimon whined to them for food.

"Come on, Bulucomon. Let's grab a bite to eat." Yusei told his partner.

"You too, Herissmon." Leo added with a grin.

"Yay!" Both Digimon cheered in unison.
