I assume that the radar returns were coming from the Doors, rather than from Colin himself? Radar doesn't work on human bodies, but solid surfaces like the Doors would probably be radar-reflective enough to be trackable.

Red Hearth[April 2008]

He sipped on his orange juice, idly watching the TV, from his room on the Red Hearth, smirking as Tony did the exact same thing as he did in Cannon, shutting down the Weapons Division of Stark Industries.

To think that if things had not gone horribly wrong, he would be an intern at Stark Industries when this all went down, instead of being stuck in the Red Hearth, his civilian identity unofficially on a long term vacation to Thailand, with most of his dividends from his portfolios handled by a trust that was run by someone who was affiliated with Kamar Taj.

Colin Baxter, as the world knew him, had dropped out of the dark web, and the only one, outside of his close circle, who knew exactly what had happened was in Wakanda. Speaking of Wakanda, he wondered what exactly happened to Shuri and her plans to reintegrate Wakanda with the rest of the world.

He debated sending her a message before thinking better of it. The further he stayed from someone who was very heavily influenced by an Egyptian God, the better. It never worked out for anyone involved to get close to an Egyptian God.

He noted that Tony was the same as before, brash and blunt, as Tony chewed on his cheeseburger while leaving behind the cacophony of questions that had erupted after his announcement, to poor Obadiah.

Honestly, he wondered how Obadian was going to retaliate now. He had already collected the scraps that Tony left behind, to study and also to keep them out of Stane's hands. That left Stane very few options in terms of killing the Golden Goose that was Stark, because he would have no suit left to reengineer after Stark was killed.

On the other hand, killing Stane was a major milestone in Tony's character development but he was not going to do something as egregious as purposefully engineering a moment like that. If it happened, it happened and if not, then Stane could be sent to jail by Coulson whenever he arrived in Tony's life.

His eyes lit up in mischief as he thought of something stupid and fun he could do. Tasking the hacked satellites to ping him the specific parameters were met, he leaned back and sighed, looking at the TV, showing a reporter already doing a segment about Stark Industries and its apparent fall from grace, all the while two of his hands worked in the background, working on some more advanced spells.

Looking back, he saw the two glowing spinning balls, barely containing the ball of red in between. He grinned when the balls held steady, despite him not paying his complete attention to them.

With a thought, the red in between the balls was switched with a deep blue, then with a spinning white, then with yellow and then he cycled them with startling ease.

Once that was done, he mentally commended them to dissipate and contrary to what one might have thought, dispelling spells did not mean that one had to stop supplying Dimensional Energy to the spell.

On the contrary, the energy required to dissipate the spell safely required more skill and energy than simply letting it explode in one's face. So, it took some time, since this was his first time doing it in a room where its explosion would have some very real consequences, as the elements in the spinning balls disappeared, followed by the balls losing their spins before dissipating into thin air as well.

"Holy shit," he breathed out loud, watching the smoke coming out of his conjured hands, awe in his eyes. He just recreated the Rasengan, and not just the Rasengan, but Rasengan with the elements from his Doors in them.

Now, that part was still untested in terms of the damage done but he could imagine the versatility of the Rasengans now. He stood up, chair spinning back, as he got out of his room and jumped into the elevator, while mentally informing Jin'Ya that he needed some supervised tests in the ritual room, to which Jin'Ya lazily agreed.

The elevator opened up super fast, courtesy of technology, no magical enchantments used there, aside from some safety and bubble creating ones, and he was about to jump forward, only to come face to face with Bruce.

Bruce, looking at his crazy smiling face, was probably a little confused but he had no patience for that so he hopped into the elevator, canceled Bruce's selection for the kitchen floor and swiped in his finger to get to the lower levels, his energy signature allowing the button to be selected, another enchantment that interfaced quite well with electronic authentication systems.

Something he would no doubt proliferate to allies in the future, after some field testing, as the tech was probably capable of differentiating between Skrulls, as well, since it targeted the energy coming from the soul instead of just biology and genetics.

"Good timing! Come on, I would kike to show you something," He dragged Bruce along and wow, was there some heft to him, nothing like the weak ass human he was when they first met, back in Canadian Snow.

"W-What? Where are we going?" Bruce asked and he waved him off. "It's better to just show you. Also, I see that someone has been hitting the gym. Nice strength you got there."

Bruce smiled nervously, "Yes, I have strong data now. According to historical records, even untransformed, I can lift more than Captain America and run as fast as him. I have also recorded some reverse aging on my organs as well as my face."

He grinned, "So, an all around improvement in quality of life then? I am so glad we could figure that out. Also, a very productive outlet for stress relief, am I right?"

Bruce nodded, "Yes. Very. Multiple minor breakthroughs came to me in the middle of lifting heavy weights in high G environments."

"Oh yeah, I've gone up to 10G once but could not properly exercise in that, so I settled on 5G. How high do you go?"

Bruce smiled, "I can do all exercises at 7G and the highest I went, out of curiosity, was 15G and then I blacked out."

"Let me guess, the Hulk came out? Thinking it was some threat?"

Bruce sighed, "Yeah," Then he perked up, "But the weird part came after that. Hulk did not rage or rampage, all he did was walk up to the panel and set the settings to 50G and began working out. Great work on that room's overall integrity though, nothing was broken after Hulk set the gravity to normal and let me come out."

"Huh, interesting."

Then, the elevator dinged and opened up on the ritual room floor, with Jin'Ya already waiting for them. Since JIn'Ya was the official Guardian of the Red Hearth, having been recognised as such in the wards, he could travel freely through the entire place. That was on top of his already existing ability of phasing through matter.

"Let me show you my newest piece," he declared and moved to enter the ritual room while Bruce followed Jin'Ya to the observation deck, a room built by Jin'Ya to safely observe the whole thing without entering the ritual room itself. Usually, Jin'Ya would just come in, and stay just outside the ritual circles but for squishy humans like Bruce, who was not really squishy anymore, it was better to stay outside and observe.

Entering the ritual circle, he activated the standard ritual flow for isolation and once that was done, conjured two hands, and focused as the conjured hands rippled with concentric circles that then began overlapping on top of themselves, eventually creating a small ball of Dimensional Energy.

"Observe." He said, as the Ball stabilised, then he opened the least destructive thing he had in his arsenal of Doors, the Chi door, right in the middle of that spinning ball, giving it a golden look. He compressed the energy, which took time, about half a minute, before he stopped and looked at it, which looked so beautiful up close, before simply chucking it at the far end of the ritual circle, not before leaping out of the ritual circle as well.

The blast was blinding in its intensity. The ritual room shook but the circle held, holding back a storm of golden energy, crackling with such intensity he could feel it on his face, mere inches away from the boundary of the ritual circle.

"What was that?" Jin'Ya asked him, intrigued.

"That," He breathed out, standing up properly before dusting off imaginary dirt from his clothes before turning to look at the mirroring enchantment and said with his arms spread apart, the backdrop of the golden explosion right behind him, "--Was an…EXPLOSION!"

Red Hearth[April 2008]

"That," He breathed out, standing up properly before dusting off imaginary dirt from his clothes, before turning to look at the mirroring enchantment and said with his arms spread apart, the backdrop of the golden explosion right behind him, "--Was an…EXPLOSION!"

Jin'Ya deadpanned at him before flashing into the room right next to him, one of his claws expanding in size, heading towards the Chi storm. He might have warned them if it was someone else but not Jin'Ya, the dragon was leagues above anyone he knew in terms of absolute energy manipulation.

He knew that it had something to do with the fact that the older and stronger a dragon gets, the more energy dense they become, no matter their species. Jin'Ya, already made up mostly of energy anyway, had a natural advantage when it came to dealing with energy related incidents.

The barrier that kept the storm contained at the edge of the ritual circle stayed in place, only parting a bit as the claw entered it, trapping a small amount in a purple circle before the claw effortlessly came out of the containment, slightly smoking with golden fumes. "Hmm."

"What?" He asked the dragon, jumping on the balls of his feet, too excited about the new weapon he now had in his arsenal. He knew that all other variants of his Rasengan were destructive and was curious if the Chi one was the same or not. Did it perform mass healing for anyone in the range? Or did it give everyone super cancer as their cells desperately tried to make use of this absurd amount of Chi suddenly being pumped into their bodies with no clear pathway for their cells?

"It is destructive in its nature," Jin'Ya summarised before flicking his enlarged claw, dissipating that energy as the storm within the ritual circle too began dying down, almost a full minute after the point of impact. It was kind of scary how long he could keep the effect active, if he pumped as much energy as he could into the Rasengan.

"If you try this in an area full of humans, you will only find abominations and cancers after the spell is dispelled, same for most beings in the galaxy. Only the high level beings, like the Royal Asgardians, can take the attack head on and have their bodies healed instead of exploding into an uncontrollable mass of cells."

"Oh," he said, slightly saddened by this because he thought it could have utility in creating a giant area of healing with a single attack for mass healing in the middle of a battle.

"Alternatively," Jin'Ya continued, "you can try assembling a group of powerful people, not as strong as royal Asgardians but maybe on the level of the Kree or your resident Super Soldiers, and then subject them to the smallest level of Chi you can fling at them, and maybe that will heal them."

"Nah," He waved the suggestion off, "No need to risk anything. I will just not use it at all."

They exited the room and found themselves standing in front of a very excited Banner, "What was that?"

"That, Dr.Banner," His conjured arms spread wide apart, glowing yellow as he went for a repeat of his previous digalogue, only for Jin'Ya to swat at his arms and disintegrate them, "Don't."

"Spoilsport."

As it turns out, after extensive testing, they could definitely answer that the Kinetic Lasers were very up there in terms of overall destructive prowess, sending lasers in all directions upon impact, with very high intensity.

But the one that would result in the highest possible casualties has to be the Water Rasengan, which just spewed water in all directions with such force that people would just be shredded apart before they could have an opportunity to drown.

It reeked of War Crimes to him so he resolved in not using that, at all. The imagery itself was horrible, he didn't know if he could even stomach the real thing happening.

The light one was the one that surprised him the most. The Light Door in and of itself was pretty much just a portable flashlight, with not that high of a brightness. BUT when he used the Light Rasengan, the result was very different.

Extreme Heat and light generated from the attack, capable of melting steel and blinding anyone in range. Finally, he had some sort of offensive attack with the light element.

Maybe now he could finally have something in his arsenal that would ward off the vampires. Speaking of vampires, he wondered what the Red Matron was doing?

He knew that after the Ta-LO operation, she was pretty injured and had retreated to heal her wounds because if the whispers were to be believed, the Ancient One ruthlessly used her as a meat shield, forcing her to tank all the attacks while the Ancient One herself prepared the attack that drove Dormammu off.

Even then, it was astonishing that the Ancient One had to literally sacrifice her arm for good. Like, intellectually, he knew that Dormammu was one big bad bastard, but to see the effects of fighting him off was humbling. He still had a long way to go but hopefully, he would never actually have to fight Dormammy himself.

He could just off Kaecilius and his merry band of zealots the second they try to attack Kamar Taj or if he was just lazy and failed in stopping them, rely on Strange to fend off Dormammu. After all, Stephen Strange was destined to be the best of us or so the Ancient One would say in a particular reality. He just hoped she was right because he still had flashes some times, of that horrible time in that fog, of those never ending hordes, of that sheer pain he had to endure to open a mere portal.

He really hoped, to Stan Lee, that he would never have to face the Demon himself.

"I was really hoping we could conduct some experiments with that. I think Extremis can absorb the energy you can throw off, specifically the life energy from that explosion."

His brows furrowed at the suggestion but he nodded, "Okay, schedule a time and send me a list for the equipment and we'll get it done."

Bruce nodded and went on his way, and he went his way. To the Portal Room.

Jin'Ya flicked his claw and a hole in reality opened up as he jumped into the portal and began falling down. Usually, he would just open up two small Air Doors beneath his feet to slow his fall and then a couple on his back and chest to stabilise his descent.

This time, he did no such thing as spider limbs conjured out of his back stabbed into the ground, stopping his descent. There was a jerk but it was negligible as he did a three point landing while standing upright.

He came face to face with the spaceship, his spaceship. It was not much, but it was his and he was going to do a complete makeover of the ship, armed with the recently acquired knowledge of enchantment and also the manual that had arrived earlier today.

Today, was the first day, to get to know the ins and outs of the ship. Tapping twice on the key, the ship's lights lit up twice as he entered the cabin and immediately coughed and used the Air Door to flush out the entire space, as the smell of fuel and chemicals was too heavy for him to breathe properly, and he was a superhuman.

He had a hunch that this particular restoration project was going to take a while.

Oh, well. It just meant he had more stuff to do and that was never a bad thing.

Who knows? Stark got shot this time around, lost tons of blood and is probably still sleeping, even weeks after the rescue, the warmonger suit will get done before the first proper ironman suit, and stark will probably die in his sleep once obi plucks the reactor out.

Nepal, Earth[April 2008]

"What in the everloving f*ck is this supposed to be?" he all but shouted, trying to make heads or tails about the ownership manual that Jin'Ya had supposedly gotten for him. It was very rare and it was clearly second-hand, judging by the missing as well as sticky pages.

Ewww. That was also the reason he was currently glad that he had no real hands to speak of and could discard his current conjured hands as soon as he was done touching the manual. Even then, the thought of where the manual could have been made him shudder and jump into the shower immediately. Alas, that was not the case because he only had about a week before the enchantments were supposed to be renewed and he did not plan on renewing them once more.

So, in one week, he was going to either build a hangar near the Red Hearth, and store it there to work on its restoration or he had a fun idea of making a smashing entry into the life of one Tony Stark.

The second idea was immature, unnecessarily risky and unpredictable in its outcome but it was fun, and that made a very heavy point in the favour. Still, though, that was very far away.

According to some very rough calculations he did earlier, equipped with his new Rasengan weaponry, his spider limbs, and newfound knowledge on enchantments, it should not take him more than three days to have a rudimentary Hangar up and running.

Well, he said Hangart but all it would be was a giant high ceiling empty space, with a potentially open roof for the spaceship to take off vertically, because his ship did have VTOL capacity, which was awesome!

God, this is what owning a car must feel like. Except the car is broken down, very old, does not come with a manual, has alien parts in them and has very questionable overall integrity.

Some would say that it is exactly like owning a first car.

He wondered why he never bought one in his past life, despite having the money to do so. Most probably something to do with high prices and him living in a city that had more than ample public transport. Plus, the really high taxes coupled with the high cost of ownership discouraged him further more, not to mention the low running he would have had since he spent the majority of his time in a single city, barely travelling out of the state.

At least that's what he remembered. He paused mid excavation of a bundle of wires, the conjurations flickering for a moment before he dropped the projections, the bundle of ancient wires landing on the ground, setting off a small plume of smoke.

"Huh," he muttered, his entire body freezing for a moment. "I really do not remember anymore?" He could still recall the details of the Marvel content he consumed, some of the comics data, some Marvel wiki reading, and more.

Yet, he could not remember anything else. His earlier experiences. His close friends, relatives, and more, he could not even recall. His college, his education, his first job, nothing.

By all means, the mere thought of that should have filled his entire body with panic. Yet, all he could feel was a dull ache, nothing more than a residual feeling, of knowing that something was lost but realising that it was not as significant as he thought it would be.

Shaking his head to get rid of these thoughts, he manifested a set of arms to grab the bundle of cables and lifted them up. Underneath the sea of cables, was a set of levers that should stop the flow of energy to the entirety of the ship.

Then, he can hook up auxiliary power to the whole thing, so that it becomes an environment he can actually work in. Despite it being very old, the battery in this thing was more than enough to create some rather gruesome wounds if he were to be exposed to the full load.

Humming a familiar tone, though he could not pinpoint the exact name of it, he got to work, creating multiple smaller latches for the wires to lock onto, so he could safely take everything out.

He just hoped that it would be somewhat doable, the task of getting this piece of junk properly mapped using the manual in three days.

Okay, so spoiler alert. He could not get it done. Within the first 24 hours, he realised that the propulsion aspect of the spaceship was entirely separated from the rest of its subsystems. In the manual, which was very poorly translated, it was written that it was made like that on purpose so the propulsion aspect could remain separated from any finicky repairs that needed to be done.

So, the geek that he was, he just decided to rip apart most of the ship, gutting most of its systems before placing his own, or rather, humanity's systems on them.

So, he abandoned the ship, half torn apart in that palace before setting out to create the Hangar near the Red Hearth.

Thank Stan Lee that he had the foresight to request the barrier around the Red Hearth to be significantly larger than the required amount. That gave him ample space to begin digging and create the Red Hearth.

As was customary for Mars, he had to dig really deep into the planet to get to solid earth and then began the task of just demolition.

As he was the master of multitasking, he perfected his villain laugh with every Rasengan destruction bomb he threw in the small hole he dug with his spider limbs, with clouds of red dust exploding and turning the air around him red. That made his villainous laughter even more intimidating.

After that, it was just a question of acquiring multiple tall sheets of steel, joining them nice and tight, before casting spell after spell on them, engraving enchantments on every one of them. Structurally, the Hangar was not at all designed to survive, not even on the most moderate weather places on Earth but with the power of magic, he now had what was essentially a cuboid, that was so strong that it would take multiple Rasengan Bombs to dent them.

Unfortunately, he still did not have his portal ability back so he had to ask Jin'Ya to make a portal large enough to get the spaceship from that forest to the Hangar.

"Are you sure you don't want a newer ship? We can get you a much smaller one, one that will work every time." Jin'Ya suggested and he had been firm in his denial.

Yeah, a working spaceship was cool but from Jin'Ya's recount, he could tell that the ship he was talking about was small, like Milano small. The ship he had right now? It was just over a tenth of the size of the Dark Aster, the flagship ship of Ronan the Accuser.

It was massive, and he would get it working in anyhow condition. After all, how cool would it be to just pull up in front of the Chitauri in a ship surpassing the Leviathan in size and firepower?

Just thinking about it made him shudder in excitement.

So, it had been almost a week since Tony was rescued from Afghanistan and he was starting to wonder how long it would take for either Stane to make his move or for the law enforcement, i.e., SHIELD, to catch up on the real criminal.

Alas, a quick check of the news told him no such thing and the satellite tracking he had on Stark's Malibu house did not garner any results which made him curious because if the movies were to be believed, it took Tony only days to recover, design the new suit and perform the maiden flight from his home.

He had something in mind about the whole ice problem when Tony's suit eventually froze over.

"Welp," He clapped his conjured hands, creating a dull sound in the hangar, "Time to visit LA."

LA, Earth[April 2008]

He grinned as he saw the news. Apparently, tomorrow night was the night that Tony was not invited to his own gala, and was told by Stane that he was fired from the company. It also meant that tonight was also the night Jarvis would be coloring all of the suit parts in hot rod red and gold colours.

But he was slightly confused, because the maiden flight test should have been done before then, but the group of satellites he had tasked for the express purpose of tracking everything that came out of Stark's house did not register anything.

He was floating, out in the ocean, in the dark, cloaked under stealth spells, just surveilling Tony's house. Man, it was a nice house. Too much glass for his taste though. Then again, he had the safety angle in his mind whenever he looked at a house, and the Mandarin's attack on Tony's house came to mind. The man had a veritable army of suits in his house and yet, he could not defend it from a couple of helicopters and some missiles.

He needed a break from the restoration work on his ship, of which he was learning a lot of. Apparently, the battery in that thing was a solid state battery, made over a century ago, and it still worked. He had taken that thing out to test its properties standalone, and maybe pull Bruce for it but the man was clearly busy with his own research.

The battery was now draining itself, powering a magical loop where electricity was taken and converted to sunlight, allowing the residents of the Red Hearth to get ample natural light, even when they were dozens of levels underground.

The thing about magical loops was that they could be reversed. That particular enchantment was specifically to convert solar energy into electricity. A flipped character within the enchantment now meant that it was now consuming electricity to create sunlight. Once the battery was drained, he had a number of tests to run on it.

But all of that was for later. For now, he was right here, on Earth, in LA, smelling the sea air, waiting for Tony to make a move. He was close, so close that he could see the house as well as the piano from the glass wall that Tony had facing the sea.

Man, that wall irked him to no end. It's not like the man did not invest money into it. That glass was probably bulletproof. It's just that bulletproof did not mean missile-proof. Maybe the great Mr.Stark could learn a thing or two from the Mysterio when it came to house security.

The garage type entrance that went straight down into Tony's lab was something he kept a constant eye on because that was–

He immediately flew forward as the road began glowing suddenly, and then he smiled as Tony flew out of it, sleek armour coated in silver, flying straight out of the house into an arc. The suit flew into the harbour, its silver glinting under the moonlight. Despite seeing stuff objectively much cooler than the suit, he smiled as he gently flew forward, intent on following the man.

The man, clearly enjoying himself, did a fly by of the beach, then flew back towards the house and then, shot straight up.

Time to Shine, he thought to himself, as he followed suit, still using Cloaking spells and low power Air Doors to push himself up, not reaching nearly the same velocity as Tony but he did not need speed right now.

Tony would come falling down on his own soon enough anyway. All he needed to do was remain hidden otherwise who knows how many repulsor blasts he would get to his face before Tony calmed down, not that they would do anything to him since this was season 1 Iron Man with no Uni-Beam and the puny ass first gen Arc Reactor. Plus, this suit was a prototype so no small cache of deadly missiles or ultra accurate guns installed.

He felt the air thin and the temperature drop as ice began gathering on Tony's silver suit, further making it shine under the moonlight. The suit's repulsors began sputtering out as, predictably, Tony's wish to surpass the world record made his suit shut down mid air and made him flail about, screaming in panic.

Damn, the video was clear but the audio was not, he thought to himself as he put away the camera he brought for this special occasion. After all, trolling Tony Stark, the most trollable existence, was another achievement in and of itself.

The suit tumbled mid air, changing orientation as air buffeted it all around. He spotted the flaps that Tony would need to pull to get the ice off his suit. Well, he could not let the man have that close of a call that he did in canon, otherwise who knows if Tony would get a chance to build the second suit or become a splatter on the roads.

So, no longer needing to hide himself, he uncloaked himself and flew close to Tony's flailing form. This close he could see the man try to speak to Jarvis but the suit's systems were completely down. He was falling straight down, along with Tony as two arms got out of his back and grabbed onto the torso and legs of the suit, stopping the suit from turning on itself.

Tony spoke, confused, since the faceplate was facing the other direction. Then, he cleared some of the ice with a third hand before opening the deadstick flaps that restarted the suit. Within seconds, the repulsors were active as he let go of the man. Then, he found himself on the other end of the repulsor tech being armed and aimed at him.

Can't say that he did not expect that.

"Tell me what you see here, Barton," He asked the lead agent assigned to this particular mystery of theirs, as they watched footage of the day Tony Stark was rescued and escorted to a US Military base in Afghanistan.

"I see…new abilities," Barton remarked dryly and he resisted the urge to glare at the man. It was true. The amount of new information that had been gathered from this single interaction was vast, beyond what they thought the Orange Man to be capable of.

There were hundreds of pictures taken, footage of every single second of the man's interaction with the armed forces, recorded and analysed by their people. Mysterio, he called himself.

"This ups the threat rating immensely. I don't think anything short of a surprise attack with the cavalry would have any chance of capturing him."

He nodded at that, looking out into the distance before sliding the files forward. "I want you to track him down. People like him don't pop out of nowhere. There's also the matter of Banner being with him. See if you can find anyone with exotic abilities in the market. Chances are, we'll find him. Surveillance only. DO NOT ENGAGE."

"Yes, sir." Barton left the room with the files and he sighed, leaning back into his chair, wondering what exactly the man was doing. He said that he wanted to rescue Stark but could not find him, which he had a hard time believing because the man could somehow find Banner in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, in Canada.

Even taking into account the mountains and the caves of Afghanistan, the man should have been able to find Stark in the months that he had been captured and forced to make weapons. Apparently, Stark blew up the place that had captured him and later surveillance confirmed that.

Vindictive lot, the Starks were.

Now he just had to worry about someone who could take sustained fire of high calibre bullets, fly at speeds surpassing most fighter jets on the planet, conjure energy constructs for multiple purposes, and do all of this while having the ability to quite literally disappear from anything that could track them.

A year from now, when he would see Tony do the exact same things with his suits, he would get that much closer to losing his mind.

Ehhh it's good. I just don't like the way how Shuri has turned into a Mary Sue in this story. Especially how she so easily found him and found out his identity. Already shows how the rest of the story will work out.

LA, Earth[April 2008]

–Colin Baxter–

So, there he was, floating in the air, with repulsors, the newest line of energy weaponry from the genius of one Tony Stark, aimed at him, primed and ready to blast him away if need be. He was certain that Tony would not resort to lethal force right off the bat but that was just hopeful thinking.

After a beat of silence, the repulsors powered down and Tony lowered his hands, "You're the guy who rescued me, in the desert." Tony's faceplate slid up, showing Tony looking at him with an appraising gaze.

"Yes," He confirmed for the guy.

"Who are you? How did you find me?" The man asked, very seriously.

He was about to answer when Tony beat him to the pinch, "You know what? Not here."

The faceplate slid on and the man rocketed straight down, towards his house. Knowing what was to come, he followed suit, letting gravity take hold while using the Air Doors on his chest and back to aim himself right behind the silver blur. Though, he wondered if Tony could avoid destroying a very classic and very expensive car, along with some equally rare and vintage Piano set because someone else was following him as well.

After a few seconds of continued flying, he smiled as he realised things were about to be the same as they were in canon, with Tony righting himself and floating a foot off the roof.

He neared the rooftop, just in time to hear the man say to Jarvis, "Jarvis, cut off power to the thrusters."

The reaction was immediate. Tony, with a very dense suit, fell straight through the roof into the next floor, only for a hand to shoot out of his back and grab onto Tony's form like a claw, holding him in place.

Slowly pulling him up, which finally made him notice how heavy the suit actually was, he laughed at Tony who, honest to Stan Lee, pouted at him, "What was the plan here? Going through the floors until you hit rocks?"

Tony gave him a look, which he could see even through the faceplate as the suit's repulsors came active, forcing him to dissipate the arm holding on to Tony, who was clearly watching it with barely hidden interest.

"Like what you see?" He asked the man, amused.

"What am I seeing?" Tony said as he veered to the side and into the same tunnel, through which he came. "Come on. Follow me."

He did, using Air Doors to follow along at a steady pace. At the end of the tunnel, Tony's lab, the absolute wet dream of a nerd, came into view. Lights shone everywhere, some of which he knew hid the holographic projectors.

The floor with the criss crossed patterns on them was the one that held the platform for Tony's suits, which he got to see in action as Tony, gently this time, dropped the suit on the grid, which opened up and got Tony out of the suit, without any issue whatsoever.

Tony grinned at him as he walked away from the platform, towards a small makeshift bar counter, preparing a drink for him. "You want any?"

"No." He denied, no need to risk opening the hood here.

"Suit yourself," Tony shrugged and he had to take a moment to debate internally as to what he was doing here. Aside from saving Tony from his particularly unique brand of stupidity, there was not much to be gained here, since Tony would not trust him, not without showing his face and that was not happening anytime soon.

The only reason he was here and not on the other end of a repulsor attack was because Tony either remembered being rescued by Colin, which was unlikely because the man was clearly out of it back when they met in the desert, or he got to know from Rhodey or the Military about the clearly enhanced man who rescued Tony Stark.

Some of them must have had a theory that Tony or someone from Tony's team had hired some sort of super powered mercenary to rescue Tony once all other options had fallen apart.

"So," Tony began, since all he did was stand in the centre, looking around without touching anything, "How did you do it?"

Without turning around since he was admiring the drone that would, in an alternate timeline, foam Tony once the man fell through multiple floors and destroyed one of his precious cars from his car collection, he replied, "Do what?"

"You know, the healing, the arms, the flying, the dozen different types of energy I can sense coming from you that I have never seen before."

He raised an eyebrow behind the mask before turning around, activating one of the stealth spells he had learned, blocking most electromagnetic waves from getting out of the suit, "What energy?"

Tony's brows furrowed for a second then he swivelled one of the monitors to his side, as his eyebrows rose up into his hairline. "What? How? They were just here." He heard the man mutter before setting his drink aside and letting his hands glide across the custom keyboard setup that he had built for himself.

After a minute or so of the man fiddling with his equipment, Tony whirled around, "How did you do it? Some kind of new stealth system? Some exotic material we haven't found yet? Better yet, did you hack my systems? Jarvis?"

He let the man ramble on as Jarvis replied, "No breaches detected, sir. The scans are being run on an airgapped system. Scans from their suit show an unknown material, bathed in unknown energy. Unquantifiable for now."

Tony nodded before gulping down the rest of his drink, crossing his arms and turning to him, clearly very curious and partly incensed, "So, mind telling me how?"

He let the silence sink in for a moment before replying, "Magic."

The scoff was immediate, so was the disdain forming on Tony's face as he took the empty glass to get himself another drink. "Fine. Don't tell me. I'll figure it out sooner or later."

With a drink in one hand, Tony took out a checkbook from one of the drawers and threw it towards him, "There. Write whatever amount you want, up to nine zeroes. For rescuing and more importantly, healing me. I feel like a new man ever since you did that. Let me know if that can be arranged on a regular basis, I would love to feel this good all the time."

He smiled at the man, enjoying the arrogance and snobbishness on display, because this was probably one of the last few years that reality would let Tony have this level of arrogance. Pride? Sure. That would remain with Tony until the end of his life, and not without reason. The man clearly had enough reasons and enough accomplishments under his belt to be more than prideful about his work.

Arrogance, though? That would get beaten out of him as the next few blows take him down, only for him to come out stronger from it.

A small hand shot out of his back, instantly attracting Tony's attention, which grabbed the checkbook and gave it back to the man, who accepted it absentmindedly, more focused on the golden hand that gave it to him. "I am not foolish enough to accept money through cash, Mr.Stark, even if I did do it for the money. Also, no, I do not offer my services as a healer on demand otherwise you would have heard of me long ago."

To his credit, Tony snapped out of it as soon as the hand he conjured dissipated, muttering something suspiciously like, "Energy construct, capable of multiple shapes, sizes and elongating on demand. Interesting."

Then, he replied, a little louder, "Fair enough. What do you want, then? There must be something I can do for my mysterious savior who intimidated an entire military base into letting him leave and managed to escape unscathed from two top of the line Jets."

"Not now, Mr.Stark. Maybe sometime in the future. Just continue do what you are doing."

Tony raised an eyebrow at him, "You mean the company? You want me to stop building more weapons?"

"Weapons? Yes. Defensive equipment? No."

"Elaborate."

"Well, I assume your plan to save the company is that," a hand conjured itself and pointed at the Arc Reactor in Tony's chest.

"Maybe."

"Then you have your work cut out for you. I don't expect the first Arc Reactor, outside of your own factories and buildings to be built in this decade. The opposition you will face from Big Oil, Big Coal, their lobbyists, the fearmongers, the environmentalists, and more, would just drown you."

Tony was about to speak, likely to defend his idea but he bowled over the man, "Oh, I have no doubt that you'll succeed, eventually. You have your suit for protection and more than enough genius left in that old brain of yours to successfully manoeuvre your company but I would just say that having military contracts, just for defensive equipment will help your company, a lot."

Tony slowly nodded, thinking about it.

"I would start with lobbying with the Mayor here. Build an Arc Reactor near the HQ, and then sell the excess energy at half the price to the grid. Once that becomes successful, I am sure you can figure out the rest."

"Eactly what I was planning on doing." Tony finished his drunk and was about to turn around for his third, which could be a problem but he did heal and flush the man's body of toxins just a few days ago, so for now Tony was fine.

"Take care of yourself, Mr.Stark. I'll be seeing you around."

"Wait-" Tony turned around, clearly intent on making him stay, but the man's words were stuck in his throat, his eyes widening, as a purple hole in reality appeared behind him, as he disappeared from Tony's lab.

Ah, that was so much fun!

Red Hearth, Mars[April 2008]

"I assume you had fun?" Jin'Ya asked him, for some reason, as he entered the portal room, smiling and whistling.

"Yeah, actually." He confirmed, feeling oddly satisfied with messing with the perpetual troll of the MCU, Tony Stark. It helped that he knew exactly how the man would react to his presence so he could make a better impression.

"Trying to buy me for a billion dollars," He scoffed, shaking his head as he got out of his suit, a little disappointed that he did not get to test it against the all mighty repulsor array but those were Mk 1 Repulsors anyway. The real test would be the UniBeam, coming from Tony's Arc Reactor chest unit, likely built in such a way to prevent immediate burnout of parts because of the sheer energy being transmitted from the Arc Reactor in a single go.

A simple solution that worked. The best kind of solution.

"So, what's next?" Jin'Ya asked him as they moved to the lower floors, as was scheduled, to do some new tests on his Rasengan Bombs, as he called them. Bruce had an idea about the Extremis' ability to absorb energy and use the Chi bomb to stabilise patients or to create even more powerful regeneration, whichever comes first.

Jin'Ya, on the other hand, had another idea. He was hoping to use the Dimensional Energy bomb to contain energy from an Infinity Stone, so that they could safely use their energy to attack enemies with devastating results.

Not gonna lie, he still got shivers and phantom pains whenever he tried to think about that Door. The one that was responsible for his current state of non handedness, but Jin'Ya made him realise that it was stupid to do so. He could not just ignore the Door that helped him escape from the machinations of Dormammu himself.

He just never expected to get something as hot potato as an Infinity stone itself so early in his life. He fully expected to become either strong enough or to develop something that would allow him to wield at least a single Infinity Stone without dying immediately but that was far off in the future.

He planned on becoming that capable before Thanos' minions first arrived on the planet or maybe, before Hela's imprisonment ending, depositing her on Earth. That was what he had planned on doing, defeat and imprison Hela once more, save Asgard, move the Tesseract, arm Asgard to the teeth and sic the entire civilization on Thanos.

Oh, they would lose, almost certainly, but in the process, so would Thanos. It would just get them more time, as Thanos would most certainly have to retreat in the face of such losses, not to mention the more extreme strategies he had in mind regarding suicide bombers to deliver Infinity Stone-powered weapons payloads.

He had it all planned out, going so far as to collaborate with Jin'Ya in order to create a message that would be transmitted galaxy wide as soon as Xandar was hit, exposing Thanos' plan to kill half of the universe.

Because the only reason Thanos succeeded so easily, was because he was patient. The man knew how to plan and knew how to wait for the right opportunity, allowing for decades of preparations to culminate in him getting all six Infinity Stones in the span of days.

That will most definitely not be the case this time. Sacrificing the entire Asgardian race against Thanos, along with some extreme methods, employing humans who would not think twice before sacrificing themselves for the human race, will most certainly damage both his spirit and his pride, two things that would hamper his ability to carry out his plan calmly.

Alas…..

He sighed as he reached the ritual floor. A different one from the ones they normally used. He planned on doing many things but reality had different plans, as he was somehow now the (not-so) proud owner of a conduit straight to the Space Stone, eliminating the need for any drastic suicide bomber-y tactics, that he did not like in the frist place but had convinced himself to be necessary for the continued survival of trillions.

The room itself was the same but the ritual circle drawn in the centre of the room glowed green. That is because the Eye of Agamotto itself was used to build this one, far before he even came back to Earth from Xandar because the Ancient One, being the uber Clairvoyant that she was, had predicted this day would come where he would face his fears and then use that Door once more.

"Let's get this over with," He mumbled as he stopped over the ritual circles, shivering a bit at the dense energy hitting his senses, crossing the threshold and sitting down in the center. The reason this ritual circle was different was because of what they were going to do here. The Infinity Stones were no joke and the energy coming out of them could just tear apart space all around him.

Even reinforced, the Space Stone held dominion over its name sake, so any mistake and he could just say bye bye to the Red Hearth and everyone currently in it, which would be bad, really bad.

Closing his eyes, he dove back into his mindspace, and saw the Blue Door once more, with the symbol of lightning carved on the bark of its tree. Contrary to the dull look it had a few months back, it was now brimming with energy, with arcs of blue energy zipping around the lightning symbol.

He took a deep breath and tried to get himself to open that Door. Jin'Ya was outside, the Ancient One herself had built the ritual, he had now crossed the first contact threshold which should, in theory and based on past experience, made it much easier to control the flow of energy, and now had a much better and clearer understanding of energy and energy manipulation in general.

Realistically, there was not much he could have done differently in the past few months to prepare himself better for this, so here goes nothing.

He dove out of his mindspace, only to find himself floating mid air. Not caring about that for now, he braced himself and conjured a hand to extend in front of him, with an open palm, and then willed for the Door to manifest on top of his conjured hand, since the imagery was supposed to help.

He flinched a bit as he felt a heavy weight settle on his conjured arm, forcing him to immediately strengthen it since the strain was heavier than he expected. He shivered a bit at the reminder of the pain he suffered that day but a shake of his head and another conjured head slapping him across the face helped him focus as he slowly, very slowly let the Door go, moving it around himself.

Getting a feel for the Door as it travelled, first slowly then much faster, until it was zipping around the place, creating buzzing sounds, all the while he kept his eyes closed.

"You should open your eyes," he could almost feel the Dragon rolling his eyes at him, mocking his fears which he did not appreciate, not one bit. So, feeling a little petty, he let the Door stop and then made it whiz straight towards the voice of Jin'Ya.

Cracking his eyes open, he let the Door stop just an inch shy of the invisible boundary of the Ritual circle, a few feet away from Jin'Ya who was floating mid air while just deadpanning at him, not fazed one bit at the stunt..

"Stop using it as a weight. Do something with it." Jin'Ya reminded him. He just glared at the dragon while the Door came back to float right in front of him, his conjured hands long since gone since he had no more need of them.

Taking a deep breath, he pulled the lever, as he imagined it, to let loose a small stream of energy, aiming in front of him. He smiled a bit as a blue laser of sorts shot out of it, impacting an invisible shield which made the green symbols on the ground glow brighter.

"More." Jin'Ya unhelpfully supplied, as he slowly pulled the lever more and more, increasing the density of the wave of energy. The ritual's shield held but now it was no longer invisible, instead manifesting as a large shield with mixed red and green sigils.

By now, he was about half way to the max level of the lever, and already the ritual's shields were not at their limits but the energy output was substantial. He could feel it, after all, since the Door was just a foot away from him. The shocking thing about this was that the Door was only about the size of his face and even then, the amount of energy coming out of it was phenomenal.

Still, the store of energy in that Door was not yet emptied so he continued to laser of an energy that bent space. After a few seconds, his eyes narrowed as he noticed something. The Red and Green sigils on the ground were much brighter than before but aside from them, a new color was introduced to the ritual.

Blue.

He felt the temperature around him plummet as he whipped his neck to look back at Jin'Ya who immediately replied, "Do not stop until you are done. Don't worry about that, it is by design."

He nodded, swallowed a bit and continued firing the laser that had almost caused his death last time and had also saved him from certain death so it was fine to say that he had mixed feelings about this Door.

That was fine. As long as he could use the very powerful weapon in his arsenal, he could make do with having complicated feelings about it.

After all, what were mere feelings, if they were in the way of completing his goals?

Red Hearth, Mars[April 2008]

"Stop!" Jin'Ya said, and he almost sighed out loud in relief as he immediately shut off the flow of energy to the Door, and looked down, eyes widening as he saw that the ritual circle, which was predominantly green and red before, now was mostly blue, with specks of green in between.

Even being suspended a dozen feet above the ritual circle, he still felt goosebumps from the amount of energy packed into that ritual circle. He slowly, carefully, floated out of the ritual circle, neck on a swivel to make sure that the ritual circle did not become unstable and explode on his face, until finally, he was out of the circle and out of the room as well.

Jin'Ya followed him as well and as the doors to the room were securely shut, he informed Colin, "That was a success."

"How?" He finally asked the question since the ritual circle clearly had another purpose to it, if the changing glow according to changing energy concentrations was any indication to go by.

Jin'Ya shrugged, "Well, we needed something to make the enchantments around the Red Hearth a little more permanent, and coincidentally, we had a very nice power source nearby. So, me and the Ancient One worked together on this and as a result, the wards around here can now sustain themselves for about a couple of centuries more, give or take based on how much expansion you would want to do here."

"Wow," He deadpanned at the Dragon, "And here I thought this was only about me getting over my fears. I feel so used, and then discarded."

"Cry me a river, then," Jin'Ya said as they walked towards one of the adjacent rooms, which had a holographic view of the room.

"The ritual was made to trap energy from an Infinity Stone, which is what you are doing by the way. I suppose the energy in that particular Door is not yet finished?" Jin'Ya asked him. He closed his eyes and did a quick mental dive, to see that the Door, while not as depleted as it was previously, was certainly not as bright as before. Also, there were no more arcs of blue around the lightning symbol, so there was that.

Opening his eyes, he replied, while looking distractedly at the giant glowing circle which pulsed with a steady rhythm, with streaks of green mixed into the ocean of blue, "No but it is particularly drained right now. I don't know the rate of recharge of that thing so it could take months to recover that energy."

Jin'Ya shrugged, or the draconic equivalent of it at least, "That's fine. I don't think we will need that energy anytime soon after all. As you know by now, your Doors have a learning curve. The more you use them, the better you get at both, not injuring yourself while doing so and also figuring out better ways to use that."

"I see. So, you want me to do this regularly, so that I can get used to that Door."

"And also get over your fear of that particular Door. I understand that the human mind is just as fragile as your squishy bodies but I can't have you being like the average human. So, we will have you use that Door repeatedly, until you can get your fears back in control.

"What? I don't have that big of a problem. What are you talking about?" He stammered nervously.

The dragon merely deadpanned at him and his trembling thighs, along with the sweaty face. "Okay, fine! I am scared to use that but only because I still remember that day. So much pain, I thought I was going to die."

"Which is fine. Fear of death is what keeps most beings alive. I just want to make sure that you don't end up letting the fear rule all over you."

He breathed out, "Yeah, alright. We can do that. So, what? I come here every weekend or so and blast the ritual with that Door?"

Jin'Ya waved him off, doing something with the ritual circle, as he saw the purple psionic energy prodding at the edges of the ritual circle, "No. No ritual circle will be able to hold onto that much energy without needing some serious attention from the Vishanti. No, we will figure out how to channel all that energy into something productive."

"Okay. Hey! What if we find a way to just help someone with that energy? Like supply energy to something that is completely energy constrained?"

"You have something in mind?"

"No, but I can probably create a proposal for Tony soon enough."

"Are you sure it's wise to do that though? Handing over that sort of energy to someone who is, as you said so earlier, not all that stable in the mind, is it a good idea?"

"Probably not? Hey, if that does not work out, we can just go out in space and blast stuff around? I mean, dismantling some asteroids and then handing over the remains to Tony or NASA will probably be fun, right?"

Jin'Ya took one look at him, sighed and waved in a do what you want to gesture, that he took as consent to do so. Well, it's not like he would be able to do that all on his own, at least not without his junk of a spaceship still in its pre-facelift phase, and his portal capabilities being nonexistent due to his, heh, nonexistent hands.

With that out of the way, he left Jin'Ya to his tinkering, happy that the exercise helped him and the Red Hearth in an immense way since centuries worth of wards was a lot of time, even if it could be reduced if he extended the radius of the shield surrounding the Red Hearth.

He might just do that, if the Hangar he will build in the near future turns out to be too small for some of the bigger ships he wanted to bring here. Like, the Dark Aster, for example.

He would have rubbed his grubby paws if he had hands at the thought of stealing Ronan the Accuser's ship from right under his nose, along with the Power Stone, while defending Xandar.

He did not have the faintest clue as to what he would actually do with a ship of that size but he wanted it. It just looked so cool and just having it around to take on a drive around the solar system might come in handy if he ever needed to impress women or something.

He could feel Jin'Ya glare holes into the back of his head as he walked into the elevator and did not turn around until after the doors were closed.

Now, for a little more spying work or rather searching work for some of his next targets before he can hit the gym and then go to sleep, if sleep comes to him that is. Otherwise, just move on to the next item on the list, rinse and repeat.

His eyes snapped open, blinking out the spots from his vision as he rose from the desk he had slept on, drooling all over it in the process as an alarm rang in the background. Hands conjured themselves as a paper towel was snatched from the bathroom, and another one took the keyboard in his hand, to see what the alert was–

He snapped upright, the chair jostling a bit as the alert was about Tony Stark and his house. The man was on the move, but not by air?

"Ah," he said softly as he realised Tony's aim. If he was correct, Tony was now on his way to lay waste to the remainder of the Ten Rings' forces, Gulmira, if he recalled correctly. But Afghanistan was a long way from home, even if one could fly in an almost straight line at speeds surpassing most passenger aircraft.

So, Tony was probably having the suit transported somewhere nearby, likely in one of the Middle Eastern countries so that he can travel to the restricted airzone of Afghanistan and then unleash all his pent up anger into one spectacular one man army attack on the Ten Rings.

Well, the Ten Rings without Wenwu anyway since the actual Ten Rings user would just kill Tony and be done with it. Speaking of Wenwu, he added the task of entering that tangled web of family drama onto his list before yawning a bit, his eyes drooping actually.

Slumping back into his chair, he dismissed the alert before going back to sleep. He had a bunch of dreams to catch up on since Lucid dreaming was something that did not come to him all the time.
