Looking at the dungeon listing it might be an idea to take Wailing Cavern or Goblin Glade at D rank difficulty.

Level Cap 3, recommended party 2, for E rank.
When we went at it, even before the Bonus boss pops up, it was pretty much a cakewalk for the four of us. But when the Bonus Boss popped up, Anshelm's HP went to the red, even if he actually maintained that position to trigger his Passive.
I am very leery of just having Alice alone with another person, in case the Passive triggers.
Yeah, no.Yup, that is my reasoning as well. As long as Alice has Cat's Curiosity it is... unwise for her to go alone or with one other person. Our new robes might be good, but they aren't a tank's armor.
We have to plan for each dungeon as if bonus boss will pop up.
Not doing D rank dungeons before we get D rank job ourself, and that's assuming we even can, or that we would get comparative xp/jp for it.Anyway, I think we can also visit the Ogre's Den at D rank, since Shimah must have already done that one.
Anshelm was taken to the red by the wolf without a healer, without a debuffer and with starting gear
Actually, our cloak gives us a armor rating, and our freezing abilities are much, much stronger now. You are also forgetting that with An with us we wouldn't have issues, and with Shimah we would have even less issues because Debuff would make their attacks trivials. We would have died verse the squid if we had taken a second hit. None of our armor actually has a high armor rating allowing us to match him.
Don't under-estimate the difference between starting gear with no healer or debuff and high-end gear for our level with those.
I mentionned our White Cloak, which does give defense. Since we first did Goblin Glade, we had two sources of improved damage (better staff, and a robe that explicitely make ice magic stronger) and our freeze abilities are very good. The caster robes don't offer (much) Defense?
The starter robes states it's 'Slightly better than naked', while the Crystal Lord's Robes does not state improved Defense, in comparison with the starter robe.
Indeed, but we are CC material and we have seen in the latest update, before out latest upgrade, that we are in fact pretty damn good at making damage.
That's what we have a debuffer for that's also a healer. If it wasn't for the Cat's Curiosity, I might be amenable for that.
Well, if it helps make people feel safer:
Wait, you wanted to do a D-rank dungeon when we are only E rank? eep.
Where do you get it being night from? It's like yesterday when we did Goblin Glade in the morning and Wailing Cavern in the afternoon- we did Crystal Cave this morning, and we are doing [X] this afternoon.EDIT: No going to separate Dungeons, though. We don't want to brave night encounters only by pairs.
Err, no? We can re-do the E-Rank Dungeons.Wait, you wanted to do a D-rank dungeon when we are only E rank? eep.
Nah, Yrs mentioned before, when we had just finished Goblin Glade E-Rank, that going back to town before going to another Dungeon means that we will be returning from the second Dungeon at night, risking night encounters.Where do you get it being night from? It's like yesterday when we did Goblin Glade in the morning and Wailing Cavern in the afternoon- we did Crystal Cave this morning, and we are doing [X] this afternoon.
We could be doing Ogre's Den by pair (which means twice the exp/jp, and finally getting us to D rank) or even Goblin Glade, or we could do something else, but anything that's done with more than 2 people shouldn't be "recommanded" for 2 people when we are overgeared.
Oh, i thought you meant that we wouldn't go to Ogre's Den because we couldn't do it split pair at D rank.
Ah, i see.Nah, Yrs mentioned before, when we had just finished Goblin Glade E-Rank, that going back to town before going to another Dungeon means that we will be returning from the second Dungeon at night, risking night encounters.
We can't do it at D-rank without her, we can do it at E-rank (as long as we know where it is). Also, we can't do Ogre's Den by pairs, as Yrs just mentioned, since only Shimah has access to it, so splitting the party meant that only one party can access it.
Which I don't really get? If Shimah can show us the entrance, can we split the party then?
Ah. Missed that. Ogre's Den then.We can't do it at D-rank without her, we can do it at E-rank (as long as we know where it is).
Two reasons for me:I'm curious why you decided to split the party into caster/caster and melee/melee?
Melee group is getting kinda screwed over with midrange options.
They haven't been?Splitting the party's a terrible idea... Now here's the thing, I know we get more exp for completing a dungeon with less people... but the fact is most of the dungeons we've hit so far have been challenging for a GROUP in one way or another. Now the cost of NOT completing a dungeon is less exp, less items, and using up an escape orb to save one's own skin...
Yes, let's divide all our exp/jp by two so that we can never do any kind of dangerous dungeons is a great way to never be in danger.... This is one of those cases where I will argue for caution. Challange is good, but ultimately Id say we're better of playing it 'safe' by staying together in a party so that no matter what comes our way we can handle it.
