You're not a Chef or anything, but you're starting to feel peckish.
There's an old bit of Boar Meat cluttering up your inventory, and while you don't exactly have proper seasonings or anything, there's a cooking accessory you were going to trade a friend something for.
Plenty of snow outside to boil too.
This won't exactly taste good, but if you slice the meat thin, then boil it...

When you tried to boil the meat, it...
There aren't really words to describe it.
It turned purple. And grew... things.
You're pretty sure it also screamed a little as it started twitching.
And you're just going to suppress the memory of what it smelled like. It's better that way.
You just took the 'results' and threw them out into the storm.
Seeing as how the stench woke you up, even though the sky has turned pitch black apart from the occasional lightning bolt, even with the room now comfortably warm, you can't sleep. The crashing thunder doesn't really help either.
Thankfully, none of it has woken up your injured 'friend'. Some colors come back to his face, and he's started to snore away.
You're actually pretty grateful for that. It's another sound to distract you from the howling winds outside. Which are honestly still as eerie to you now as they were when you were a kid. All there'd need to be is some tree tapping at the window and it'd be a perfect imitation of your childhood bedroom sound-wise.
Well, apart from the snoring old man and the crackling of the fire.
You decide to pass the time by experimenting.
With magic.
It kind of makes you giddy still.
You don't want to go overboard indoors, but still. Fllames dance around your palm on one hand, while the other emits tiny snapping sparks from the tips of your fingers.
It's awesome in a way you haven't really felt in years.
You giggle, and for once the sound of your new voice doesn't really disturb you.
Real, honest to God magic.
You sit there chuckling to yourself for what feels like hours, before you hear a moan coming from the pile of blankets that is your guest.
It seems like he might be awake soon. You should probably think about how you're going to introduce yourself.

... You guys have seen the show, right? And how unless you're a Chef you can't cook at all?
