Feel The Ground Shake (Pokemon - Ground-type specialist)

Ehh, hell be fine, doing some manual labor to anyone they could have contracted is one thing. That he refused to actually engage in criminal behavior beyond ( I thought they were sus but the pay was good) and fought them off is good on him.

Great to see Simon breaking beyond his limits, and topping it off with another change to his nature at that.

A new lesson/rule to all trainers: Always leave at least one or two Pokémon out of their Pokéballs.

In practical terms that's unlikely to always be an option. Fire type trainers for example, or trainers who tend to raise behemoths.

More likely it'll probably be standardized through an already existing 'competency course' to condition knowledge that breaking pokeballs are an option.

It is so much easier to hold to your principles when you have already gotten everything you wanted from breaking them. If he had not already evolved his Ursaluna would he really have worked to stop them here?

You say that as if
A. There wasn't more he could've gotten
B. Brad is ambivalent to others to the point he can stand aside and not care about them if it fits his goals.

Criminal ties are always useful, even ignoring the repercussions that will most definitely come from angering the largest organization in the region.
He definitely did not exhaust the uses he could've gotten from them.
Acquiring other rare items to potentially help Registeel, information, contacts to other regions to name just a few.

And while he can be an ass at times, the first part of the chapter seems to emphasize how Brad can just enjoy normal living with relaxation and a laid back role during matches. Gushing over a cutely dressed drowzee. Being happy for a kid gaining a rare pokemon instead of seething like other edgy inserts.

He didn't get everything he would want though. There was other potential benefits such as access to other regions that are harder to get to, and the big one would be a Toxic Orb for Vlad.

A damn good chapter! And woohoo our boys made it! And what a beast he is! There's gonna be a lotta repercussions for him so violently cutting ties with Rocket though. Wonder if that's what's gonna get him involved with Orre?

Well that's gonna be irritating for him to deal with. Though in all honesty they can't do shit to him about it. Cause let's be real the fucks he gonna do when the biggest crime organization in two fucking regions commissions him to do basic labor work? Say no? When he's hurting for cash?

Simon needs to invent a few drill moves.

Btw what will happen if in the next Pokémon release Golurk gets an evolution? Will Simon become SSS?

Actually what happens when a Pokémon hits level 100?

Yes! Yes!" Samantha the Olivine reporter chanted as she waited to be freed along the other captees. "I knew this camera pen would come in handy one day!"

"This footage is going to get me the ratings of the decade!"
Shit if she got the Bossman comment filmed

Lorelei do your sugar mommy thing and save your boy lol

Guys I need you all to know something I just found out. There are a number of moves that are boosted by the Iron Fist Ability that can not actually be learned by any single Pokemon who has Iron Fist.

You can usually only see these interactions through shenanigans involving Mimic, Copycat, Metronome, shit like that.

The moves are mostly things that are signature to a specific 'mon. Urshifu's Wicked Blow / Surging Strikes and Zeraora's Plasma Fists as some examples.

But you know what is also on the list?

Headlong Rush

Now I see how Rocket won't instantly understand how to evolve Ursaluna. Because he first showed the evolved Ma Ma immediately after being given some, and it wasn't even night. It's still something I think is inevitable given the giant moon on Ursaluna's face, especially if the Pokemon world knows that Luna=Moon in some cultures/languages, but now it's something they will need a little time to investigate.

Edit: and the thing about Rocket burning him for fighting them now? He has no incentive not to tell the world about every job he's done for them, every secret tunnel/base they have that he knows about. Rocket might hurt more than Brad will because of this, if he's had the forethought to get evidence/blackmail material against them.

Vlad has his Hidden Ability? When did the story mention that?

The Cruel Indifferent Pokemon World: No!!! The potential limit for a Pokemon is S!! You can't go past it!!

The Indomitable Spirit of one single Golurk: No! That's YOUR Limitation!! You sit there in your divine realm, locking away the limits of other Pokemon like a god of gods! That's nobody limitation but your own!!!
Ooh nice I got tingles reading this

Huh, I figured the quagsire would break free and flee into the ocean as soon as ball-busting was brought up. Instead, a rocket exec has an excuse to learn about the Golurk line's biggest weakness.
Not only is Quagsire not capable of taking independent action like that, I'm pretty sure Quagsire coming out ends with the boat destroyed.
Headlong rush is a punching move?

But you know what is also on the list?

Headlong Rush
Well, time for Simon to pull even more logic-defying protagonist bullshit and somehow learn yet another Move he's not supposed to!

120 power + STAB + 20% from Iron Fist...we're definitely gonna feel the ground shake from that!

At this point one would be forgiven to think Simon started life as one of those late-game perfect IVs, incredible Egg Moves starters in Pokerogue. Little lad must have fallen through a wormhole after having been released for a red shiny Bidoof.

Learns Headlong Rush, Shift Gear, Drain Punch- and oh my Rage Fist too. What incredible STAB + Ability combo. 😳

Also, lmao at them getting the evolution info wrong. Sucks to suck, Ariana. :V
Guess the Rocket executives don't bother keeping up with the news. Even without that, inless they happen to try evolving Ursaring on a full moon, it'll fail and they'll assume they were wrong.

There's a mostly clear full moon on Ursaluna's forehead and with that article coming out and all the footage they know what Ursaluna looks like. They will likely try it once with the moon once, but I feel their second try will be in a few weeks with a full moon.

On the next episode, of Feel the Ground Shake, Simon learns Headlong Rush in 5 minutes and one shots a small mountain.

They could think it was just an aesthetic thing.Teddiursa has the moon on it, then Ursaring has the ring/new moon so Ursaluna has a filled circle/full moon. Also you have to remember that there's absolutely no precedent for it. They might try it in both day and night, but I doubt they would think to specifically during a full moon.

Mostly what this:

guy said, yeah.

Teddiursa and Ursaring both have moons on their head as well, and the first evolution isn't related to the moon. And moon-related evolutions other than Ursaluna kind of just... aren't a thing. There's no precedent to guide their thinking, and combined with the ground-type specialist focusing so hard on the Peat Block, and then his Ursaring evolved, it's vastly more logical to them to think that the evolution that adds the Ground typing to be more about the Peat Block than something like the phases of the moon.

The 'moon' relationship, using the context they have, is counterintuitive to consider, and unlikely to be tried, tbh.

Day/Night? Sure, they'll probably try each, but unless they're blindly lucky and happen to do it on a night with a full moon (unlikely), it'll fail both times.

Plus, given his history with Mamoswine and the Ancient Power evolution, they'll more likely think that there's a specific move or something that they're missing, rather than not understanding it's the moon.

Krookodile unlocks the move Outrage. He shouldn't learn it for another 20-some odd levels and yet he taps into something and summons the Dragon move all the same.

It is at times like these that we are reminded that Pokémon is a shonnen anime. When the chips are down and the hero's are out gunned… that's when they're at their most dangerous. Because it's a goddam Shonnen setting.

Golurk: Level 43
Nature: Brave
Potential: SS

"Hey there buddy." My voice nearly cracks in emotion. "You got big!"
Wow Grundy needs to watch his back.

I'm so happy he's finally stood up to rocket, this brawl was everything I could've asked for. You went full shounen with that final battle.

but he's 100% about to face the music & have to tell the cops everything now. All those people heard what him and Petral said to each other.

I think what's gonna hurt him most is the reputation hit, or Lorelei's reaction.

Regardless, even in the worst case scenario that he gets barred from the Indigo League, he already has a team that will put him on the map in any other region. He could for example, still take the trip to Hoenn and commit to wrecking Steven's steel types.

Also, not sure if anyone mentioned it, but:

He didn't mention how Blissey remained free, but I'm not going to worry about an explanation right now.

Looks like we got a true man of culture as that Normal-type specialist. :V

The fact he's also probably one of the only reason one of the largest Rocket raids seen in a long time failed will mitigate the problems, at least a little.

Hell yeah, awesome!
Honestly expected a Quagsire moment, but a Simon moment... Wait! He's named Simon! I guess I forgot why he was named that way. Nice!
wowowowowowow hold up, HOLD. UP! All this time. ALL!!! this time, Simon has been a Gurren Lagan. Reference!!!!!…..timid……Docile……Brave….
"Even if you don't believe in yourself! You just have to believe in me! And I believe in you!"
HOW DID I NEVER REALISE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the chapter!

Oof, looks like his connection to them just got revealed. That's gonna be fun.

Also, the reveal of Ursaluna. And of an Alolan Raticate.
Lot's of questions are gonna be asked.

Good for Golurk though! SS is crazy. He's definitely gonna be a monster of a Pokemon, able to beat Multiple Champion-tier Pokemon in the future. The Team's Ace.

Honestly thought Quagsire was gonna break out of the Pokeball and save the MC.
