Feel The Ground Shake (Pokemon - Ground-type specialist)

"Pause." My hand suddenly grasps the Gym Leaders arm. "Drake? As in the strongest of Hoenn's Elite Four Drake? That one?" A worrisome feeling starts to well inside. "Who all exactly did you send the fight to?"

"Just some old friends like I said. Elderly coots like me." Wattson replies reassuringly. "Let's see. There's Drake, my old pal Wilson Moore up in Lavaridge -he helps his granddaughter run the Gym there-, uhh Spenser who introduced us to Brandon in the first place -he's also heavily involved with that new Battle Frontier-, Otis Carmichael -you wouldn't know him- he's a researcher who works for that young buck Prof. Elm-
The powerful old man club now knows of Brad's existence and probably the most interesting new topic for good while. He can enjoy the pleasures of being in a Ground zone for a bit before more come to poke at him.

I know this doesn't have a deep meaning. But I wish there was a Pokémon cultivation story. There is one years ago, and it was good, but like most fanfic it died. Author came back a few years later with another chapter, but it died again.

This world would be a paradise for a cultivator.

That is one chipper Regi

I assume Brandon is aware of this but withheld it because he wants MC to figure it out himself.
The question is, how long before MC realize this, and if there is any book on braille in the Pokémon world.
A better question is, would Braille even have been invented in a world where the history of humanity seems impossibly, bizarrely short. As in, PLA was only 150 years before Gen 4 when we got smartwatches.
You know... with the vicious wild pokemon roaming about tearing travelers limb from limb and all.
More likely the blind babes were thrown as distractions tbh (braille being invented by a blind child)

Lol, Braille can't actually be spoken like this my guy. And as such any book on it would be useless. It's just a fun way of me writing his crazy Regi sounds.
And we can't write in italics. Smh how dare you make a reasonable supposition on the internet, I will spend the next 2 months trying to prove you wrong.

hm, i was expecting him to have noticed that his quagzire was healed by this point
I mean, do you point the barrel of a gun at your face and peer into the bore to check that it's actually unloaded?
There's a reason Quag's ball is frozen.

Spoiler: Registeel's Dialogue

Hahahahaahaha man that was funny. And fast, too. Can't believe our MC is going into isolated cultivation. Everyone's gonna jump an entire power level in the next 6 weeks huh.

Lol, of course the Regis was a heavy sleeper.
Seens the Unknown really just wanted our boy to clean their attic of the clutter. xD

Thought it would be fun to take all the braile statements and see what they translate to.

Also, I love love love love love that the solution was just to smack Karn really hard to get him to work. It's a classic trope, not to mention that's basically what the solution is in Ashes of the Past.
Regigigas let out a flat beep. "Coding. Error. Unclosed. Participle."

Mew's tail lashed back and forth. She flickered pink, transformed into a Voltorb, and Exploded.

Lowering his paw, Lucario waved the smoke away. "Please, Mew, this is not dignified."

That's because I'm going insaaane!
The Legendary moaned, shifting back into his base form. This is like pulling teeth!

Mew paused. I assume.

Lucario shook his head, a smirk on his muzzle. "Let's give this another go."

He cleared his throat, and took a deep breath. "Colon colon Regigigas colon colon line feed open curly brace command structure close curly brace line feed for open brackets Regi colon in colon Regirock Regice Registeel close brackets open square bracket line feed Apply open bracket update close bracket-"

Lucario took a great gulp of air, and kept going. "-for open bracket date colon from colon line feed open brackets now close brackets dash one zero three five years line feed colon to colon line feed now close bracket line feed close square bracket."

Lights flashed on Regigigas' face.

Did it work? Mew asked, sending it to Lucario only.

"Line feed," Lucario answered. "Colon colon execute colon colon end."

"Command. Accepted."

Regigigas burst forwards, so fast Mew had to dodge out of the way with a high-pitched squeak, and disappeared up the passage to the sound of a metronomic WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM of large feet.

"It seems so," the Aura Pokémon declared. "After that Legendary!"

[…]

"An. Update. Is. Ready. To. Be. Installed." Regigigas stated.

The eyes on Regirock's front plate flashed in a complicated pattern. "Security Error."

Regigigas raised both hands.

"Entering. Update. Mode."

One hand reached out and took Regirock by the forehead. The other drew back.

What's going on? Mew asked, flashing back from the shape of a Ninjask to her normal Mew shape.

Lucario cut off his Aura jets and did a forward roll into a landing, coming up into a coiled crouch. "The manual said something about punch cards?"

Manual?

"Ancient scrolls," Lucario clarified.

Regigigas punched Regirock very, very hard. The Rock-type Golem went flying backwards, spun twice around an axis, and slammed into a rockface with a wham which shook the ground.

"Thank. You. For. Updating."

Regigigas turned, and sped off in the direction of Regice.

"...now that I think back," Lucario went on, as they broke into a run again, "that may not have been the word for card."

It is as they say, the greatest of minds think alike.

I wonder which junctions Iron Island in Sinnoh has. I wonder if weaker water and grass junctions are particularly common.

I wonder how a Kangaskhan would like this "junction." They aren't Ground type, but it SHOULD be an egg move for them. They just have that vibe. Chansey isn't a fairy type, but. C'mon.

Oh hey, this might be a chance to teach Registeel hidden power (ground). If anyone could change their Hidden Power typing, it'd be a Regi.

Trapinch time? Or straight to high tier Vibrava? That would give a good fight, which the team will be eager for.

Idea/thought: If in-universe Unown are responsible for the english alphabet. The the Regis could be responsible for how braille was formed. It could be that certain eyes glow brighter and dim in succession when they speak in correspondence with what they're saying.

Of course, even if that's true, forming a bond with Karn for communication will probably be faster than trying to learn rapid-fire not-standard braille.

"The aura there was strange. Instead of being concentrated, it was all spread out. Diffused across the mountain range. Different type energies would rise and ebb as you traveled from cavern to cavern. Eventually I found a spot where Electric was strongest and I camped there for most of the trip." The man turns to me with a grin. "You ever found a place like that? One where your aura is completely at home and in its element?"
Sounds like a great place to train. Can't wait to see him push himself up to the next level. Taking inspiration from the environment to come up with some new moves or put some twists on the moves his pokemon currently know. Also, sounds like a great place for Quagsire to heal. If there was any place you would attempt to take him out of his pokeball and give him a chance to regain his memories then this sounds like it would be the place. Hopefully Bradley gives it a chance.

Gliscor. Swinub. Golurk. Krookodile. Ursaluna. The Baltoys. Nidoking. Even Registeel. He's not Ground type, but he's part of the team too. Get them all out. Full meeting right the hell now.

With every emergence the bond gets flooded with more and more feelings. Vlad's surprise which turns to gleeful cackling. K.Rool's desire to build a deep burrow and zonk out beneath a blanket of warm sand. Ma Ma's confusion which quickly evolves to enthusiasm as she starts smelling everything.

Simon is clenching a fist open and shut over and over while looking at his fingers. Junior and the twins don't seem to know what's going on, but they seem happy that everyone else is. Even Grundy, normally implacable and irascible Grundy, seems to be…introspective.

The Nidoking's chest inflates. A deep heavy inhale with eyes closed while the Alpha just…is. A King who is -for the moment- content to simply be.

"⠠⠑⠭⠉⠇⠁⠍⠠⠝⠒⠀⠠⠁⠀⠚⠥⠝⠉⠰⠝⠀⠏⠕⠔⠞⠖" The golem warbles loudly.

Yeah. You said it, Karn. Whatever that was.
Glad to see everyone pumped up. Also, Karn sounds amusing. And I suppose it isn't surprising that there are some communication issues. Karn is not only a new capture but also a pokemon from a different time. Maybe the dialect has changed while he has been asleep.

On the one hand, he might be referring to a 'Regiground', with each 'junction point' supposed to have a Regi-X caretaker. On the other hand, he might be referring to Groudon (Ground-type Legendary), which would mean Mirage Tower is actually supposed to be Groudon's chill spot much like the Tower that's Rayquaza's chill spot, but he abandoned it to throw hands with Kyogre.

Which would also imply there's a third tower for Kyogre, which would be neat.

Z is the superior mega and honestly I don't think he'd care if the type stayed the same or not.
He, very intentionally, built a team of ground types. He clearly does care about types.

As for being superior, I love seen it argued that both mega evolutions suck. Losing the ground typing weakens Garchomp's best attack. And being a mixed attacker now doesn't benefit you all that much when you consider the fact that Garchomp doesn't learn many special attacks.

Besides, if he's only allowed one mega evolution, he would clearly go with mega Golurk.
