Once upon a time, there was a person. This person.. had potential they did not know, a power that they did not believe in. Once upon a time.. something traumatic happened. And once upon a time, the course of destiny.. changed. What was is what is not, and what is not was what was. A spark burns now, if only in flickering embers. but in time it may yet rise to a burning beacon in the night. But first... who bears this flame? From whose soul is it born from?

[X] Louise the Zero, Awakened in a failed ceremony.
[ ] Sokka, Ignited when a princess became a spirit.
[ ] Anzu Mazaki, Illuminated when ones soul was sealed away.
[ ] Tsukune Aono, Born in fear and pain, when monsters clash.

Summoning Ritual, Firenado Summoning, Princessly Intermission, Awakening, Power Overwhelming, Tiebreaker, Know the Things, Suddenly Construct
Omakes: Bad End 1

STATUS SCREEN
Name: Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière
Age: 16 years
Alignment: Natural Tsundere

Traits

Void Mage: ???, Within Louise lies a part of the founder's legacy, the supreme power of a Void mage. So far all this has done is convert all your traditional spells into explosions.

Driven/Stubborn: B-, Louise is very stubborn from her days of trying to get a spell, any spell, to work, and forcing herself to go over the books again and again, along with continuing to work despite everyone else's mocking. Once she makes up her mind, she won't change it easily.

Loyal: B, Louise is loyal to her family, her friends, her nation, and her princess. She will not willingly betray them.

Plainswalker Spark: D, Within you lies the flickering embers of a planeswalker's spark. Who knows what effects this may have in the long run? At this level it allows the channeling of the lands mana without formal training and an unusual resistance to mana burn damage.
Burn Resistance: B-, Louise has, as a direct result from overloading herself with her first MTG style spell, developed some resistance to the effects of mana burn. And continued incidents of overpowered spells has only increased this.

Heat Resistance: C-, After the cataclysmic awakening of her talent, Louise has developed a certain resistance to being damaged by flame and heat. Why is a mystery!

Bolero of Fire: F, A haunting tune of passion and flame that haunts your deepest dreams..

Skills

Magical Prowess: D. None of your spells work. Everything you cast results in an explosion. And you haven't done training to control what kind and how big an explosion either.

Land Magic: C. So far you have figured out that this strange new form of magic you seem to posses is drawn from memories of the lands. It seems to have five different flavors, of which you do not fully understand the differences between.
Red Magic: B. Mountain Magic, so far, has seemed to focus over immense emissions of power to blow things up.
-Power Overwhelming: D. So far, in the course of experimenting with your new magic, you've shown a interesting ability to generate large amounts of magical power from but a spark...
Blue Magic: B. This Island Magic is strange, and seems to both have influence over the weather and over mental energy.
White Magic: D. The Magic of Plains has barely been explored, but it seems to make you feel calm when you cast it..
Green Magic: D. The Forest Magic is mostly foreign to you, but you can feel how it is integrated with nature's ways.
Black Magic: C. While you have barely touched it, the Power that the swamps grant to you feels strangely.. alike something you already know. It also makes you think like an evil overlady.
Instants: B. Simple, fast acting and fast casting, spells are what Louise has focused on learning so far. While not as powerful as others, they can be casted at great speed.
Sorcery: C. While the more complicated and longer sorceries are mostly foreign to Louise, she knows the power of the Dragon's Fire and has explored other complicated weaves.
Enchantments: D. While she has not yet mastered this, in theory she can probably figure out how to bind a spell onto an item...

Mental Prowess: B+. You have above-average mental capabilities for someone of your age. You get good marks, and can generally ace tests. As long as they don't involve actual spellcasting..
Arcane Lore: A+. Through long years of studying and attempting make a spell work, any spell, you are familiar with and have memorized much more mystical information then the vast majority of your peers.
Medical Aid: D-, You've been working in the infirmary for the past month, and you know the basic remedies you've been assigned to help carry by sight.

Physical Prowess: C. You are a normal noble schoolgirl who has no training in swordsmanship or other active forms of sport or exercise.
Dodge!: D+. You have learned that not being hit is a good idea, and stand ready to dodge in combat. If your enemy isn't to fast at least.

Social Prowess: C-. You are known for not getting any of your spells right and you are naturally prickly with your pride. Good with people you are not.
Wrecker of Classrooms: B. Your spells explode. This is not good for classrooms or classmates in the blast range. You have a reputation about that fact.

Minions

Priorities

Items

Wand: B, Your big sister, Cattleya, crafted this wand for you when you were accepted into the academy. While not a masterpiece, you've used it ever since and treasure it.
--Ever since the summoning ritual, the wand has been transformed.. a ruby gleams at it's end, and it's wood feels warm to the touch.

Landholds

Tristain Academy of Magic: B-, Legendary Land. Grants ??? Mana. ???

And then, it turns out that Sokka doesn't get blue mana, but black instead. Or maybe red. Now that would be funny.

[x] Louise, cuz the thought of a 'walker set loose on that setting is too glorious and lulzy to deny

Re: Flickering Embers [MTG/Crossover] Quest

Hmm, I think I'll change my vote.

[X] Louise the Zero, Awakened in a failed ceremony.

I hope she gets black, though white is the most likely.

She embodies explosions.

Red, all the way.

Re: Flickering Embers [MTG/Crossover] Quest

As a void mage, Louise has silly high affinities for black. As someone who's first landbond is a legendary land of a magic academy, she has a link to blue mana. (Also, I'm not sure if it's fanon or not that she's really high up there scholarship wise in an attempt to get her magic to work by knowing more, but it's true in this verse.)

...As an individual, she is Red Red Red Red, with a sidebar in the elements of Explosions, Outrage, and setting germanian hussies on fire.

Re: Flickering Embers [MTG/Crossover] Quest

*Sigh*...This might be just me; but I'm getting rather tired of FoZ, can we do something in a different setting for a change?

Re: Flickering Embers [MTG/Crossover] Quest

So, Louise is going to be playing Grixis? Well, that'd be pretty interesting.

Well, personally, for once, I want a Zero no Tsukaima quest where Louise goes off and does her own thing. Every quest with Louise has so far been her either following canon or being subservient to the princess or a ton of other bullshit. Just once, I want Louise to go "Fuck this shit" and wander off to adventure or do something new.

Agreed. Rosario + Vampire all the way. Lets give the vanilla mortal an upgrade, he deserves one for all the shit he gets.

Re: Flickering Embers [MTG/Crossover] Quest

Also, just so people know, the last time I was actively into MTG was in the first Ravnica set, so most of the newer sets are not what I first think of to draw things from.

(Also some things about what happened setting wise in time spiral just bugs me and you aren't likely to see a canonical system around. In this universe/setting, how it works is that when you first become a plainswalker, your a neowalker, but as you get older and more powerful, you start hitting oldwalker power levels and abilities. It has always been like that, and nothing done to one plane has affected the entire multiverse, even plainswalkers who have never heard of the plane or had anything to do with it.

And no, unless things go really wrong, you aren't likely to run into another potential/actual plainswalker anytime soon. Other MTG style mages? Maybe)

Ah, good. That means the other void mages aren't going to be planeswalkers.

Re: Flickering Embers [MTG/Crossover] Quest

...Or that you aren't going to run into them for a while. >:D

On the canon issues with Time Spiral; you have to remember that Dominaria is the center of the multiverse, it's nexus. That's why it was a big deal when the incidents of Time Spiral occurred and why multiple walkers came to fix it. They Phyrexian War and what happened with Karona didn't help things either. Having all the mana of the plane just...leave didn't do it any favors.

Not that I like the aftermath of Time Spiral, I'm just saying it canonically fits. I actually prefer you system of handling the spark rather well.
