Ghoul King: Hail the King!

He entered the Anteiku Cafe and noticed that everything was the same as it was, like the time before. He stands directly behind the bar, where an old man Yoshimura is preparing coffee. He just sat there and observed the art of coffee making without saying another word.

Apparently, Touka wasn't there, to which Lucien was a bit happy as there wouldn't be any awkward situation ahead. He knew that sooner or later, he would need to confront her on this, but he hoped to do it after he got rid of all threats here and before the Apocalypse began when his Family and the entire Wandenreich settled in the 24th Ward.

Remembering that, Lucien smiled slightly as he ordered one cup of coffee from Yoshimura and then kept observing the coffee-making. Soon his cup of coffee was done and was already before him in all its glory.

Lucien felt the wonderful aroma of freshly made coffee which made him smile and he sipped from it immediately.

"It's delicious as always, Mr. Yoshimura."

Lucien praised the coffee as he put down the cup of coffee and looked at old man Yoshimura who was currently cleaning some.

"That, what is happening to the CCG, is your job? Isn't it?"

Asked Yoshimura after he finished cleaning the cup of coffee he was currently cleaning and looked at Lucien, who was leisurely sitting before him. Lucien then nodded his head before proceeding to explain the state of things.

"You know, I need to smoke out the rats hiding in the shadows, so tomorrow, there will be no rats."

Old man Yoshimura knew that he was referring to the Washuu Clan and their lapdogs, Vasuki organization. Although Washuu Clan weren't rats, they were still hiding in the shadows. He knew that Lucien had in his plans to exterminate the entire Washuu Clan during the war between the Commission of Counter Ghoul and ghouls for the 20th Ward.

"Don't worry, my pawns are strong enough to take care of the Commission of Counter Ghoul now; even though the Aogiri Tree was weak in the past, they at least have enough strength to destroy them. What would one expect, that two of strongest Special-Class Ghoul Investigators were killed..."

Explained Lucien to him; now only a week or something around that remained till the day when the CCG would start their retaliation operation in the 20th Ward. Lucien knew this information thanks to the Arima, and thus he could wonderfully prepare.

He immediately commanded forces of the Aogiri Tree to prepare hideouts and traps around the whole 20th Ward so they could be of some use. He also got to know that commander of the operation would be Washuu Yoshitoki, so he ordered Arseahr to kill him at first and only then go to the HQ of Vasuki and slaughter them all.

"Oh yes, one more thing. Don't let that girl fight; even though she is stronger than before, this battle would be more dangerous."

Lucien said to Yoshimura as he was referring to Touka; even though she was stronger thanks to Lucien's training, she was still rather weak compared to really strong ghouls or numerical disadvantage against several high-class ghoul investigators, namely Associate Special-Class and Special-Class.

Yoshimura, hearing Lucien's words, nodded in agreement as he knew that it was too dangerous for her to fight in such, we could already say, a large-scale war that was nothing compared to some street fights and scuffles.

Lucien then returned to this manor to resume his training and more importantly, to wait for the start of the "Final Act" as it would take some time for the CCG to coordinate everything they had in their arsenal and move their forces to the 20th Ward.

After some time he spent training, he decided to go to the 24th Ward, which now looked like a proper city, more to be precise, fortress city and went to find his new soon-to-be Sternritter Tatara, who was currently training in the martial arts that Lucien gave him.

When Tatara agreed to become one of the Sternritter, Lucien gave him a whole bunch of martial arts and a good amount of blood essences to enhance his strength as much as possible.

"Your Highness."

Said Tatara as he bowed when he saw Lucien appearing in the secluded yard, which belonged to him.

Lucien nodded and head and then waved his hand so he could relax.

"I came to inform you about your target and mission. During the battle of the 20th Ward, you will kill Washuu Yoshitoki, as he will be the commander of the whole War of the 20th Ward, based on my information. After the extermination of the Washuu Clan and Vasuki is done, we will be leaving for Blood Island immediately."

Tatara nodded in agreement and then continued training in his martial arts. They needed to start the evacuation of Blood Island so the citizens could leave for the 24th Ward and that would be for sure accompanied by a huge number of demons attacking them.

Days went as fast as the wind and soon, there was the message sent that CCG would start with the cleaning of the 20th Ward from every ghoul located in the Ward. The operation would start after two days from now, to which Lucien showed a delighted smile when he heard this news from Arima.

Soon, when the final day arrived, the whole 20th Ward was basically locked down, with every road blocked by the military or police. Apparently, the Washuu Clan, together with their subservient organization, Commission of Counter Ghoul, used much of its power, at least what remained, and were prepared to do this perfectly.

The military was blocking every road to prevent anybody from either entering the 20th Ward or escaping the Ward. Major location in the 20th Ward was already swarming with cannon soldiers of the CCG and low-rankling ghoul investigators, clothed in combat attires, which looked rather unpractical.

High-ranking ghoul investigators were already with their own squads of cannon fodder soldiers of the CCG, prepared to engage the Aogiri Tree members who appeared out of nowhere and started slaughtering the soldiers and policemen at the blockades.

This caught the CCG by surprise, as they weren't expecting huge retaliation. They were preparing to enter hideouts of small ghoul gangs to annihilate them and not to combat practically the whole Aogiri Tree, which was already on standby.

Lucien stood on the top of the roof, together with his Sternritter, Arseahr and Zelilios by his side. There was also one more person besides Arseahr and Zelilios, and that was soon-to-be Sternritter Tatara. Behind the three of them, there were more than two hundred red-cloaked people wearing weird skulls masks.

Members of the Aogiri Tree were already ready under Tatara's command.

Lucien didn't know where Eto disappeared when she gave the command to Tatara, but Lucien didn't care too much, as he knew that she was already losing he sanity; she was still pretty strong for an ordinary ghoul.

"It's starting."

Said Lucien calmly as he was clothed in his samurai-like battle attire and wearing the Hollow Mask. Truth be told, he truly enjoyed wearing this armor, as it was practical and also, he loved his Hollow Mask, as it looked intimidating and dominating.

All three Sternritter nodded, hearing his words and waited for further instructions. More to be precise, they only watched the confrontation between cannon fodders of the CCG and the Aogiri Tree, as neither side sent a strong fighter to join the fight. This was only testing of the waters.

"Tatara, bring your men there and leave non-alive. This is the last chance to slaughter as many as you can of the filthy doves and complete your mission of killing Washuu Yoshitoki. Zelilios, you have your orders, go to the HQ of the CCG and help Arima in his mission. Same to you, Arseahr; head to the HQ of Vasuki and complete your order."

All three bowed slightly; soon Arseahr and Zelilios were already nowhere to find and they disappeared to complete their own missions. Tatara then led his small army of ghouls to slaughter his way to the command center of the CCG, where his target Washuu Yoshitoki was located. Lucien was still observing the fight between his pawns and the pawns of the Washuu.

Soon, as he had enough of observing, he vanished from the roof where he was standing and went to complete his own mission, the extermination of the Washuu Clan and headed to the estate which belonged to the Washuu.

"Let the fun begin."

20th Ward, War between CCG and the Aogiri Tree

When Tatara led his troops of the Aogiri Tree to join the fray, it had terrible consequences for the CCG as the ghouls that joined the battle were far stronger, commonly on the B-Rate by ratings of this world.

They started slaughtering the cannon fodder soldiers of the CCG with the speed of light, and dead bodies were only piling up here and there.

Soon after the start of the attack, blood started flowing like a river and the air had the heavy stench of death in it.

The most terrifying one was, of course, Tatara, who with his giant bikaku kagune was akin to a laughter machine to these paper-like soldiers of the CCG. Probably even would have for a very, very long time.

Even high-ranking members of the CCG didn't last long before him as he was now many times stronger thanks to Lucien's care and blood essences, of course. Soon enough, Special-Class Ghoul Investigators arrived on the scene. Currently, only one arrived, but even that was enough for now.

It was a man, a heavy-built man of middle age with black hair and eyes. He wore his hair in a pompadour style and had a neat mustache. His name was Tanakamaru Mōgan, Special-Class Ghoul Investigator with an SS-Rated Ukaku-type quinque named Higher Mind. His unique was in the form of twin cannons, shooting beams of concentrated energy or RC Cells.

"Oh, boy."

Murmured the newly arrived investigator as he looked at the forces of the CCG in a terrible state, losing their foothold everywhere, being overwhelmed by the forces of the Aogiri Tree. Tatara didn't say anything and just rushed at his target, which was him, at full speed.

Soon his bikaku kagune collided with the investigator's quinque and sparks were flying in the air.

When the clash ended, one could see cracks all over the SS-Rated Ukaku quinque and that the quinque was about to be broken with one clash.

Tanakamaru Mōgan started shooting at Tatara with his quinque, but Tatara dodged all shots were quickly and soon again slashed at Tanakamaru Mōgan with his bikaku kagune to which Tanakamaru Mōgan defended with his quinque.

Only this time, the defending was a failure and his quinque Higher Mind broke into several parts as Tatara's bikaku tail managed to destroy it perfectly.

"Seems like it's my loss, boy..."

That were the last words said by Tanakamaru Mōgan, Special-Class Ghoul Investigator of the Commission of Counter Ghoul, before Tatara pierced his heart with his bikaku tail, killing the ghoul investigator on the spot.

Then after dealing with Special-Class, he proceeded to kill the remaining ghoul investigators on the scene, targeting, especially senior members. After this part of the 20th Ward was perfectly cleaned of all ghoul investigators, the group reorganized and went for the main target, Washuu Yoshitoki and the commanding center of the operation.

In the center of the 20th Ward, there was a whole small fortress created out of the armored transporters and countless cannon fodder soldiers of the CCG were all around the place, on their outposts and guarding the command center.

Amongst them were several high-ranking members of the CCG aka senior ghoul investigators, and even Associate Special-Class and Special-Class ghoul investigators were stationed there. In the middle of the fortress-like formation was a mobile command center armored transport vehicle, from which everything regarding the battle of 20th Ward was commanded.

Washuu Yoshitoki was wearing his commander's white suit and sat inside the mobile command center armored transport vehicle and looked at several huge electronic screens that played the situation at the 20th Ward and the tragedy that was going on in the 20th Ward.

Then as he was watching the situation of the operation in the 20th Ward, something suddenly happened and numerous gunshots and screams were heard from him outside.

Washuu Yoshitoki hurriedly switched the cameras to ones that were monitoring the area of the command center and saw countless red-cloaked Aogiri Tree members attacking the command center with a white-cloaked ghoul with white hair, bloody red eyes, and a mask of the same color.

Tatara was leading his soldiers to war.

Meanwhile, as Washuu Yoshitoki was observing the fight outside of the mobile command center armored transport vehicle, there was a 'fight' going on. Tatara was like a sharp arrow tearing through the bodies of cannon fodder soldiers of CCG.

His bikaku kagune tail was tearing bodies like a knife cutting through butter.

Soon enough, Tatara encountered another Special-Class ghoul investigator, but the unlucky fellow was killed after one exchange with Tatara's bikaku tail severing his head on the spot.

After some time, when screams finally extinguished and most of the cannon fodder soldiers of the CCG and ghoul investigators were already killed, everything was over.

Washuu Yoshitoki, who was watching the entire thing behind the screens, knew that everything was already over. So he stood up from his commander chair and walked out of the mobile command center armored transport vehicle.

He stood before Tatara, surrounded by several tens of red-cloaked Aogiri Tree members with Tatara standing before him. Tatara looked at Washuu Yoshitoki with an expressionless face and with eyes like a wolf looking at its prey.

"So, this is the end of the road. Isn't it Mr. Shen?"

Asked Washuu Yoshitoki.

He even called Tatara by his real name, Shen before he arrived in Japan and took the name Tatara.

Shen Tatara, as it would Lucien called him, still had an uninterested expression on his face and only looked at Yoshitoki, waiting for the dead man's last words. To his words, Tatara only nodded his head lightly.

"As we are talking now, probably your new master is already killing my family already. My son at headquarters should be also, already dead and Vasuki is currently being burned to the ground."

One must admit that Washuu Yoshitoki was a really intelligent man, no wonder that Lucien always talked about him being different from this family and was probably the only one truly acceptable Washuu clansman.

Tatara then came to the Washuu Yoshitoki and looked into his eyes and with one extremely fast slash of his bikaku tail, he pierced through his heart and created a giant hole in his chest.

Then with several slashes, he practically destroyed his body and then he stored his body in the interspatial ring given to him by Lucien.

He was storing there all bodies of ghouls that were killed today.

Commission of Counter Ghoul Main Office, 1st Ward

Everything seemed to be alright in the primary office of the CCG. Arima Kishō was sitting inside his office and looking through the window at the night city of Tokyo; especially he was looking in the direction of the 20th Ward.

As he was observing the night city and as he was in admiration of the night city, something happened down at the entrance to the Main Office of the CCG. Soon enough, the alarm was heard throughout the whole building at the sight that security was breached. Someone attacked the Main Office and Arima Kishō knew who it was.

Afterward, he took out beautiful ancient-looking katana that he got from Zelilios, katana made by the Shi Xue Clan; this weapon was far more powerful and dangerous than any quinque that he had ever held in his hands. He gripped the katana and put it behind his white coat and exited his office to see the panic that was everywhere.

He went to the office of another Special-Class Ghoul Investigator and the only Special-Class present currently at the Main Office of the CCG. Every other Special-Class ghoul investigator was either participating in the battle of the 20th Ward or were in some essential place for the CCG.

The rest of the Special-Classes were already dead.

At the entrance of the Primary Office of the Commission of Counter Ghoul

Down at the main entrance, there could be only one word to say to describe the situation there. Pure destruction and death. Zelilios was holding his kagune spear with both of his hands and with every slash, he took the life of the ghoul investigators stationed at headquarters; he was like some kind of reaper, only instead of a scythe, he had a spear.

As soon as the last ghoul investigator and security guard were dead, with blood filling the floor and a stench of blood was penetrating the air through the whole hall, Zelilios left the half and proceeded to the higher floors, aiming to kill. This act was just that Lucien hated these so-called ghoul investigators, so he ordered Zelilios to kill as many as possible, too and also to give them some surprise.

He was going floor after, killing practically everyone who attacked him in one hit, fast and swiftly. In the meantime, as Zelilios was purging the ghoul investigators on the lower floors, Arima Kishō, who was currently on the building's top floors, was heading to the office of the Special-Class Washuu Matsuri to finish his job.

Soon enough, he finally saw his target; he wore formal attire at work, similar to that of other ghoul investigators. He had short black hair, a goatee and wore a pair of glasses, though at his dinner and in his younger days, he went without. He wore a stoic face as usual and had nothing else on his face than indifference.

"Special-Class Washuu."

Said Arima Kishō as he saw Washuu Matsuri walking towards him with his usual cold, stoic face. Washuu Matsuri only nodded his head before talking back.

"Special-Class Arima, what is happening now? Who is attacking?"

Questioned Washuu Matsuri when he came to the Arima Kishō.

"We don't know, investigator Washuu, only that enemy is probably strong enough to attack the Primary Office of the CCG alone."

Answered Arima Kishō as he looked at the Washuu Matsuri. Then both of them went to the elevator; when Washuu Matsuri turned around to went to the elevator, Arima Kishō gripped his katana that was hidden behind his back in his coat.

With one swift and fast slash, he aimed at the head of Washuu Matsuri, severing it in the process. When his body fell down, Arima Kishō didn't stop and pierced through his heart several times and then left the place.

At first, he went to the offices of several ghoul investigators that were also members of the CCG that were tied to the Vasuki. Still, before he could leave the place, several other ghoul investigators appeared at the end of the corridor and rushed at Arima Kishō with their quinque, screaming that he was a traitor.

There were only three of them and they weren't very skilled fighters apparently, as Arima managed to kill them within thirty seconds after that. Then he quickly went to find those people that were tied to the Vasuki or the Washuu clan more tightly.

Soon enough, it took only several minutes to finish the whole thing and members of the Vasuki and the Washuu Clan were already dead. Then Zelilios met with Arima Kishō and told him to leave the Min Office because soon there would be a huge boom.

As Arima Kishō was finishing his job and Zelilios his one, Zelilios finished it much faster thanks to his cultivation base. Then he went to the basement of the Main Office of the CCG and put the Magitech Explosives everywhere he could so he would utterly destroy the building. This was something as a bonus because Lucien wanted to destroy everything that the Washuu Clan built completely.

This building was a standing symbol of the power of the Washuu Clan and when it would be destroyed, it would signal that the power of the Washuu had already been banished to the deepest parts of oblivion.

When both Zelilios and Arima Kishō left the building and went to the roof and stood there admiring the Main Office of the CCG, then Zelilios took out the small steam-punk-looking device, which was actually a detonator to the explosives placed in the Main Office of the CCG.

"Let it end."

Said Zelilios as he pushed the detonator and detonated the explosives. A moment later, huge explosions started in the Main Office of the CCG and flames embraced the whole building from the bottom to the top.

Soon, the whole building would collapse, as the walls already started cracking under the strong explosives and flames that were destroying the ruins of the former Main Office. And as could be told, the whole building soon collapsed and everything was left to dust.

1st Ward, some distance from the Commission's of Counter Ghoul Main Office

In front of the abandoned building, which looked like some kind of warehouse, the man stood gripping a kagune sword in his hands and was clothed in white noble-looking attire and with dangerous-looking eyes, with black sclera and red iris.

Sternritter N0.1 Arseahr stood before the desolate warehouse, which looked like it had been abandoned for decades. After carefully examining the surroundings, Arseahr entered the building and proceeded to the secret entrance, which led to the underground complex, which was the real headquarters of the Vasuki organization.

When he was standing before the entrance to the Underground headquarters of the Vasuki organization, suddenly two enemies appeared, wearing long black leather coats with black hats. They were holding katanas in their hands and wearing black gloves. Agents of Vasuki appeared finally at last.

Arseahr only faintly smiled and with two precise slashes aimed at the vitals of these two enemies, blood splashed high in the air and painted the surrounding walls to the red. The heads of two agents were severed in a split of a second and their bodies lifelessly fell down. After that, he slashed with his sword at the heavy door, probably made from some durable metal and tore them down. When the door was already destroyed, Arseahr entered the spiral staircase and went down to the deep.

It took him several minutes to arrive down the staircase; he arrived before huge doors in a V-like shape and Arseahr must admit that the doors looked very luxurious and beautiful; because of this he took special pleasure in destroying them.

When he entered the room, he was greeted by the darkness of the room, only lighted by the faint red light. In the room, there was something like a V-like pattern throughout the whole room in red color. The rest of the floor was black, creating a very intimidating appearance and, more importantly, an atmosphere.

At the sides were pillars; some of them were small and some of them were high.

At the end of the room, there were huge double doors created from silver with various ornaments at them, apparently made by some very gentle and noble technique. As Arseahr wasn't very much of an artist, so he couldn't tell more about that.

He could tell that besides the man standing before the doors, tens of others were hidden in the dark behind those pillars. Arseahr went to the man that was standing before the huge silver doors. When he was before the man, he managed to identify him as Kaiko, who was apparently the leader of the Vasuki.

He was bald and his eyes seemingly lacked irises. His lips were black in color and he wore a black hat at all times, like the other members of V. He wore a formal suit underneath a black duster coat and concealed his hands with dark gloves.

As Arseahr was looking at him, he thought that this man was probably crazy. Even though he was only a puppet leader, the real leader was surely someone from the Washuu clan, not someone from the branch family or whatever.

"You have finally made a move?"

Asked Kaiko in a low voice as he looked at Arseahr with a curious eye, to which Arseahr smiled faintly and nodded his head in agreement.

"Your time is already up, you know. If not for our complicated situation on Blood Island, you would have been exterminated much sooner because compared to other things, Washuu Clan is like an insect, not so important, but still, you will need to kill them at some point because they are noisy."

Arseahr told him with a small laugh as he looked at Kaiko, to which he frowned but didn't say anything back.

"Sooo, what is behind that door? What is so important that it must be hidden so well and guarded by whole Vasuki?"

Questioned Arseahr curiously as he carefully observed Kaiko, whose expression wasn't changing the slightest. So they stood there and after around one minute of total silence, Arseahr gripped his sword tightly, hit the ground, then held it with two hands before him and leaned over the sword.

"Not very talkative one, I see. So what about we start already."

Said Arseahr as he looked at Kaiko and smiled. Then he rushed at him and slashed at Kaiko with his sword, to which Kaiko barely managed to draw out his katana and defend against the attack. Sadly for Kaiko, the force behind Arseahr's attack was too great for an ordinary ghoul handle, and his arm, which was holding the katana, broke immediately upon the impact.

Second, after that, Arseahr made another slash with his sword, aimed at the head of Kaiko, severing it into two parts.

Dead on the spot.

When the fight between Arseahr and Kaiko was finished, the rest of the Vasuki agents, hidden in the dark, already rushed at Arseahr with great speed. Arseahr rushed at him too, and started fighting with more than two hundred Vasuki agents; Arseahr looked at them, only seeing them as nothing more than targets.

Soon enough, after ten minutes, the fight was finished because of an extremely huger disparity as Arseahr was already 5th-Star Noble Ghoul, so this was nothing more than pure slaughter. The result was that blood was already creating a small pond in the room.

Then he went to the huge silver door and started examining the doors, but strangely he couldn't open the door. After several minutes he spent examining the doors, he decided to went back as there was nothing left. Even though he must return together with Lucien, he could probably know the way of opening the doors or something.

He also took all bodies of the Vasuki agents with him and stored them in the interspatial ring. Most of the members of the Vasuki were either ghouls or half-ghouls; also, there were many kinds of hybrids.

All those bodies were rich in RC Cells; they would be good as a source of blood essences.

Washuu Clan Estate, outskirts of Tokyo

The estate of the Washuu Clan was in typical Japanese-like architecture and it looked pretty old. Lucien observed the Estate of the Washuu Clan from the roof of a nearby building. He searched for the guards and weak points of the estate.

Currently, there were countless guards from the Washuu Clan or the Vasuki organization; apparently, security was pretty tough here. It was clear that what had remained from the Washuu Clan, they decided to barricade themselves in their estate.

Samiel congealed several kagune daggers and controlled them all through Telekinesis and shot them at the daggers. They swiftly rushed at guards guarding the doors and, with their blades their, severed their heads only in a split of a second.

The attack itself was as brutal as it was fast; nothing could be left to the accident.

When they had already cleared the outer area of the estate of the Washuu Clan, Lucien entered the estate and walked through the ruins of the estate of the Washuu Clan. The outer layer of the estate was already in ruins and there was nobody left alive.

Sometimes, he was attacked by half-dead members of the Washuu Clan who were barely able to walk, but they were quickly killed by Lucien's katana as their head was severed from their bodies.

Especially he wanted to personally kill Washuu Tsuneyoshi, as he was the patriarch of the Washuu Clan.

Lucien stood before the main building of the Washuu Clan before taking a breath and entering the building. Washuu Tsuneyoshi, an old man with long white hair and a long beard, was sitting on the tatami mat.

He had a face full of wrinkles and had a sharp gaze on his face. It was the chairman of CCG and Head of the Washuu Clan, Washuu Tsuneyoshi also nicknamed Oni Tsune; he was clothed in traditional dark green kimono with two patterns on each side.

That pattern was the symbol of the Washuu Clan.

"I greet the Patriarch of the Washuu."

Siad Lucien as he gave Washuu Tsuneyoshi a polite greeting bow as proper noble.

"An I greet the Scion of Etras di Aeon."

Answered the Washuu Tsuneyoshi to Lucien, and then both of them just stood there and watched each other. Behind Washuu Tsuneyoshi stood several members of the Washuu Clan, probably already the last ones alive.

"It is sad to see the clan with such a long history as the Washuu Clan become nothing more than dust in the endless river of time."

Said Lucien as he observed the never-changing expression of the patriarch of the Washuu. Still, nothing changed and Washuu Tsuneyoshi just looked at Lucien and said nothing to his sarcastic remark.

"Times are changing; some things end and some start. Perhaps our time has also already come to an end. We had only one small luck because your family didn't care about us because of some reason, and today the Reaper finally came for our heads. Now, as we are talking here, CCG should be already destroyed and Vasuki probably too."

Admitted Washuu Tsuneyoshi as he looked at Lucien and Lucien heard these words with delight as these words were very attractive and nice to hear.

"So, what now? Are we going to fight or will you kill yourself?"

Asked Lucien with faint laughter, to which Washuu Tsuneyoshi twitched and he deeply frowned at his remark. Afterward, Washuu Tsuneyoshi gripped his katana and went into a battle stance. Lucien did the same thing as he brought up his kagune katana, took a battle stance, and prepared to fight with Washuu Tsuneyoshi.

"Even though I must die today, I want to die in a fight."

Said Washuu Tsuneyoshi and rushed at Lucien at his full speed and Lucien did the same thing. With one simple exchange, everything was done when Lucien's katana pierced through the heart of the Washuu Tsuneoyshi.

"Cough-cough, go-od f-ig-ht."

Said Washuu Tsuneyoshi, coughing blood and barely able to talk. Then, Lucien slashed with his katana once more, aiming at his head and severing his head. Then he looked at the rest of the members of the Washuu Clan and Lucien killed them one by one, slowly and painfully.

When everything was done, bodies were cold dead and blood was flowing through the hall; Lucien stored all bodies in his Cross Crest and decided it was time to search through the main building of the Washuu Clan estate to search for the treasury.

When Lucien finished the slaughter of the Washuu Clan, he was a bit surprised at one thing that happened today. It was especially that the patriarch of the Washu Clan, Washuu Tsuneyoshi died willingly.

Even though it was surprising that Washuu Tsuneyoshi died practically willingly, but it was a rather logical decision, as all that the Washuu Clan had built was destroyed. The Commission of Counter Ghoul was entirely destroyed by his schemes and the last attacks done by Tatara and Zelilios with Arima. Vasuki was slaughtered to the last by Arseahr.

Nothing was left, and Washuu Tsuneyoshi was an intelligent man who knew that Lucien would attack the estate of the Washuu Clan only when everything was already done.

Lucien also gave one order to Zelilios and Arima after they were done with the HQ of the Commission of Counter Ghoul, and that order was to find a group of ghouls calling themselves Clowns, as Lucien knew that at least one member was of the Washuu blood, so all of them are to be exterminated completely.

As Lucien searched through the ruins of the estate, searching for the treasury, which belonged to the Washuu Clan and after twenty minutes of searching, he finally found the hidden entrance leading to the underground place, which was probably the treasury of the clan.

Fortunately, it was really the treasury when Lucien entered and he stood before the ancient-looking door, which he "opened" with the usage of his katana as he tore them down.

When he entered the room, it was a small room in which content mainly consisted of various scrolls and books. There were also some gold bars and various mischievous things which were of little interest to Lucien, but he still took them as they could be of some use.

He took a special interest in taking all those old books into the Cross Crest as many of them were from the Shi Xue Clan that the Washuu Clan stole after slaughtering their whole clan. After he had completely and nicely cleaned out the whole outer treasury, he proceeded to the inner part of the treasury, which was actually only one small room.

In the middle of the room, there was one book with a very special title Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū, which was something that Lucien coveted too much and wanted as nothing more compared to the past. He immediately took the Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū Technique to the Cross Crest and then searched through the rest of the room.

Additionally, there was something that caught his interest, and very much at that. There were several Blood-Essence Extractors in the treasury, which Samiel quickly took and stored inside his Cross Crest.

Then he took out many explosives and placed them around the vault, and similarly many were placed around the whole estate of the Washuu Clan and soon it would be blown up into the air.

As Lucien left, he stood on the roof, from which he commenced the attack on the estate of the Washuu Clan and watched how it was burning in the crimson flames.

Similar to the CCG HQ, soon huge explosions soon took over the whole estate of the Washuu Clan, destroying everything that was in the place. After that, Lucien went to the HQ of Vasuki as he got a message from Holy Imperial Knight Arseahr that he found something very useful when he couldn't hold in his curiosity and opened the door deep down inside the headquarters of the Vasuki organization.

Thus he went to the HQ of the Vasuki organization with great haste. After Lucien arrived there, Arseahr was already there waiting for him at the front door with a wide smile on his face.

"Everything is done; Vasuki is completely exterminated as you ordered; they also left us a wonderful gift."

Arseahr reported when Lucien arrived and they went to the main hall of Vasuki's HQ. Lucien stood before the huge silver door, which Arseahr had already closed as this was meant to be a surprise.

When Lucien opened those doors, he was very pleasantly surprised by what he saw inside. It was RC Liquid which was gained from RC Cells of Ghouls, Half-Ghouls and other hybrids. Practically RC Liquid was a far more primitive version of the blood essences, which were refined with Blood-Essence Sacred Refining Furnace.

What was surprising was that there were thousands upon thousands of tonnes of RC Liquids in this underground space which was so huge that Lucien could hardly see its end. Lucien looked at all of this with huge delight and realized that this would require the whole team from Empire to come here and transport it to Blood Island so it could be immediately refined into Blood-Essences.

"This amount of RC Liquid should be their work for whole centuries, from bodies of ghouls from all around the world. Not only ghouls but hybrids, half-ghouls and maybe even some humans with a higher concentration of RC Cells."

Even though Lucien didn't know what the Washuu Clan was scheming, and he would probably don't find out as he slaughtered the whole clan, this amount of RC Liquid was probably one of the crucial resources.

They had been harvesting this for centuries from all around the world and now it fell into Lucien's hands.

"Arseahr, stay here and guard these things. I am going to Blood Island and call for more people with interspatial rings to transport these RC Liquids because this amount is too huge for me to transport and truth to tell, I am pretty lazy to do that annoying work."

Ordered Lucien and afterward, he left the HQ of the Vasuki and immediately jumped on the private jet to Blood Island.

Blood Island, several hours later.

As he was in his mansion on Blood Island, he went to his father to inform him about the current state of things, about the Washuu Clan, Vasuki, and the Commission of Counter Ghoul. Most importantly, he went to tell him how much loot he gained.

After several minutes of walking, he finally found his father in the courtyard of the mansion as he was sitting on the chair and drinking blood wine.

"Father, mission Final Act is finished."

Said Lucien as he arrived at the courtyard of the estate. His father was very delighted to hear that the mission was a success. Then Lucien reported everything about the current state of things and of course progress of how the mission was completed.

"Also, in the HQ of Vasuki organization, there were several thousand tonnes of the RC Liquid, so I will take some people with interspatial rings to clean that place completely. In the treasury of the Washuu Clan, I have found several Blood-Essence Extractors and also, something for me, Hiten Mitsurugi-ryū Technique."

Said Lucien to his father, who then showed a satisfied smile hearing all of these good news. RC Liquid in such a huge amount would help an entire Wandenreich as it was a very precious resource that could be refined into countless blood essences, which were of the RC-Type.

This meant they would very quickly raise the RC Level of consumers and together with Non-RC-Type blood essence, they are practically the best method to supplement the practice of the RC Star Evolution Method.

After, Lucien talked with his father about various mischievous things, mainly regarding the Washuu Clan and, more importantly, future Sternritter, N0.4 and N0.5, Arima Kishō and Shen Tatara and about Awakening Ritual for the two of them and for his future wife, Itori.

After one day, Lucien left Blood Island to start preparations here, in Toyko and the 24th Ward for the relocation of their people. Lucien at first went to the HQ of Vasuki with several people who would transport those huge amounts of RC Liquid to the Blood Island.

As soon as they arrived, they started cleaning the whole headquarters of the Vasuki, taking all that RC Liquid straight to Blood Island. It would be immediately refined by the usage of the Blood-Essence Extractors, making many blood essences.

Lucien observed the whole thing for some time and after he got bored, he went out and left Arseahr in charge. He went straight to the meeting place, somewhere in the 20th Ward, where he would meet Shen Tatara to take him with him to Blood Island.

He also needed to pick up Arima Kishō and Zelilios as they were on the hunt for a ghoul organization known as Clowns. When he arrived at the meeting place in the 20th Ward, it was already the day after the so-called destruction of the CCG, Washuu Clan and Vasuki. All media were already informed about this event.

As he went by some store, he looked at the news, which was talking about an event that happened last night.

During one night, the Washuu Clan, which acted as the "Shield of Humanity" for several centuries in the whole of Japan, and protected humans from ghouls, was slaughtered to the last infant. All the people were deeply shocked about what happened last night. It was like thunder from the clear sky that nobody expected or even could expect.

The same could be said about the Commission of Counter Ghoul, which was one of the world's most famous and powerful ghoul-hunting organizations in the world. It was ranked at the top ladder among organizations of similar type. The destruction of the CCG created huge waves in society and the government. Many people were in fear and uncertain about who would defend against ghouls and hunt them.

Regarding Vasuki, nobody knows about them as they were practically a secret organization and were unknown to the world. Even when someone found out about their existence, their HQ was tightly guarded by Sternritter N0.1 Arseahr, together with several powerful members of the Aogiri Tree, with orders to kill on sight.

"Breaking news, HQ of the Commission of Counter Ghoul was destroyed by explosions when unknown enemies attacked it and none of the ghoul investigators present survived the attack. The same could be said about the last operation of the CCG in the 20th Ward, which ended in a complete wipeout of the CCG and also the death of the commander of operation Washuu Yoshitoki.

The most recent news, which was an informant from the government leaks, is talking about the slaughter that happened last night at the estate belonging to the Washuu Clan, creators of the Commission of Counter Ghoul. Nobody knows what happened and who attacked, but apparently, no member of the ancient Washuu Clan survived as everyone was killed."

Stated the reporter on the TV, to which Lucien showed a wide smile hearing this. Then he went to the meeting place. When he arrived, Shen Tatara was already there waiting for him, in his typical white clothing and wearing a red mask.

"You did a very good job at the battle of the 20th Ward, crippling and destroying the whole forces of the Commission of Counter Ghoul and killing the Washuu Yoshitoki. You did great merit."

Said Lucien after he looked at Shen Tatara.

"What happened with the Aogiri Tree after the decimation of the CGG, Washuu Clan and the Vasuki organization?"

Lucien questioned in a curious voice, wondering what would happen with the Aogiri Tree, which was rather a useful pawn after all this time and he planned to have it absorbed into the Wandenreich.

"Afte Eto disappeared who knows where, and I have left, the leadership of the Aogiri Tree is already crumbling as several other high executives are already creating their own factions and starting to fight for the leadership of the Aogiri, but the strongest one is probably that one of that kid, Kaneki Ken as Kamishiro Masataka joined his faction and even Noro was leaning to his side. Hopefully, there won't be any kind of civil war or something. Many of our kind already died in the hands of hateful humans, so there is no need for us to fight among ourselves."

This wasn't that surprising as everyone had some amount of greed inside them and many wanted as much power as they could.

"Now I would send you to the Blood Island, where you will find the commander of the Holy Imperial Knights, Commander Nalthos, who would tell you the most important things about certain issues and also prepare you for the Awakening Ritual to turn you into a Noble Ghoul during the time. And tell him to send someone here who would be taking care of the Aogiri and subjugating all splintered factions."

Before leaving, Tatara gave Lucien a small ring, which was an interspatial ring filled with corpses of ghouls and some ghoul investigators, only a strong one, which were killed during the 20th Ward Battle.

After spending the whole day walking through the Toyko, enjoying the city's scenery and more importantly, waiting for notice from either Arima and Zelilios or Arseahr about their respective assignments.

Arima and Zeliluos were currently hunting for the ghoul group, Clowns and Arseahr was on guard in the HQ of Vasuki and commanding the transport of the RC Liquid back to the Blood Island so it could be refined to the blood essences.

Soon, Lucien was standing on the roof of some random building and watching the Anteiku Cafe, which appeared to be completely untouched by the battle of the 20th Ward between the Commission of Counter Ghoul and the Aogiri Tree.

Some part of him, deep inside, even wanted to go inside to say hello, but he said to himself that it was unnecessary.

After looking at the Anteiku Cafe for several minutes, he went back to the HQ of Vasuki, where Arseahr was already waiting for him as he sent him the message that the transport of all RC Liquid was already done and the whole place was full of the explosives so he could blow it up into the air.

He arrived at the HQ of Vasuki and saw that the whole place was nicely empty as every drop of the RC Liquid was already on the Blood Island and being refined to the blood essences.

"Everything is done?"

Questioned Lucien as he looked at Arseahr who was sitting on the floor with a bored expression as he looked at the dark empty hall. To his question, Arseahr nodded his head and told him that he already wanted to go back to Blood Island.

"We must wait a bit for Arima and Zelilios; soon after an hour, they would be finished with killing those Clown group of ghouls, and then we could leave."

And as Lucien told, soon Arima Kishō and Zelilios arrived and gave Lucien interspatial rings with corpses of their targets, to which Lucien showed a delighted smile, and all three left the HQ of Vasuki as wave explosions embraced the place.

Blood Island

When Lucien arrived at Blood Island with others, he sent Arima Kishō to the Grandmaster Nalthos of Sternritter for the same reasons as he sent Shen Tatara there. Afterward, he gave his orders he went to find his father to report.

Even though he couldn't find his father, he still managed to find his mother, who was currently in the garden drinking tea, together with his soon-to-be wife, Itori, who had been on Blood Island already for some time.

"Mother, Itori."

Lucien greeted them and both of them greeted him back, even though what surprised him was that Itori greeted him in a more lady-like way.

Apparently, she was already re-educated on how to act like a proper lady, at least in front of people.

Normally she would rush at him and hug him with all her strength, mixed together with some seductive talk.

Sadly such behavior in public, Itori didn't have any problem behaving like this, even in public, was totally unacceptable, so she was educated on how to behave like a proper lady for some time and Lucien admired that she had learned it so fast.

"Where is the father?"

Asked Lucien as he looked at his mother and Itori, who was leisurely drinking tea.

"He went to the Underground world to hunt for peak Greater Demon, which appeared on the last layer together with your grandfather. He would be back probably tomorrow or the day after."

Answered his mother Selene, as she sipped from her tea and looked at Lucien, who had an excited expression on his face. She immediately knew what he was thinking and just shook her head in defeat.

"Just be careful; there are more and more Greater Demons down there."

Said his mother with concern in her voice, to which Lucien showed a delighted and wide smile and immediately disappeared from the estate and went directly to the entrance to the Underground world. The entrance itself was guarded with

Lucien entered the Underground and went directly to the second layer of the place.

As he was going through the place, the first layer, he encountered many Lesser Demons, who were instantly killed by Lucien's kagune daggers, which he controlled through his telekinesis ability.

With this terrifying way of combat, he slaughtered countless Lesser Demons, many of them were at the peak of the Lesser Demon Rank, but they couldn't stand even one attack from the kagune dagger and telekinesis combination.

Soon he entered the second layer and even managed to obtain many corpses of Lesser Demons, which was pretty good loot but not that useful to him now as he needed blood essences of higher quality than that of Lesser.

When he was on the second layer, he searched for the Greater Demons; fortunately, he didn't need to search for long as soon he found Greater Demon, more precisely Greater Demon Imp, to which Lucien showed a disappointed face.

Still, the good news was that there were more than twenty of them, which was a good number of corpses.

As he saw the Imps closing on him, he switched to another form of attack. He unleashed his huge crystal-looking kagune wings and flew high into the air and then shots tens of crystal projectiles at the group of Imps who still didn't discover Lucien.

Sadly when they noticed that something was flying in the air and lacked Demon Qi, it was pretty late and countless crystal projectiles tore through the bodies of poor Imps and most of them were killed on the spot. Those who were lucky to survive were severely injured and were killed by Lucien's next wave of attack.

He then collected those corpses to his Cross Crest and proceeded to search for stronger Greater Demons as they would be a better challenge for him. What was surprising a bit was the number of Greater Demons on the second layer of this small underground world.

One could say there were several basic types of demons.

The lowest ones were Demon Beasts and Demonized Monsters, which are basically either Beasts and Monsters influenced by the huge amount of Demon Qi and thus changing their fundamental abilities and even race.

Above them are normal Demons; in this category belong those species like Imps, Winged Demons, and other types of demons who inhabit Demon Worlds. Some of them may look like humanoid types, but that isn't some kind of rule.

The highest tier of Demons is those of Humanoid-type. That meant they looked similar to humans, but they had horns, wings, tail and other racial traits which belonged to Demon Race.

As Lucien walked through this layer of the underground world in his search for a strong Greater Demon, he could fight.

The sad thing for him was the fact, that practically the whole layer was just occupied by Greater Demon Demons, which wasn't that bad as they were good resources when Lucien killed them and obtained their corpses.

Sadly even after two or three hours of searching, he still didn't manage to find stronger demons; most enemies he encountered were either Demonized Monsters or only the lowest and weakest members of the Demon Race, which were Imps.

Still, he managed to kill several hundred of them, so he had enough cultivation resources.

After he had been searching for enough time, Lucien finally found his target. Greater Winged Demon.

Winged Demon looked very similar to an orc as he was similarly muscular and ugly at the same time.

The difference was in the color of skin, as the Winged Demons had brown skin and two wings on their back.

Lucien observed the demon before him and noticed that it was armed with two blades, rusty ones and already pretty destroyed.

Even the armor that the Winged Demon was wearing was completely tattered and almost destroyed; apparently, this one had just escaped the battle.

Probably he managed to slip away from his father or grandfather and survived some of their AOE attacks.

And thus, Lucien went on the complete battle mode, as he unleashed his kagune ukaku wings and congealed kagune katana, which he gripped tightly in his right hand.

He then flew high in the air and rushed at the Winged Demon at the full speed of his wings.

Surprisingly his wings were very fast, which was very good news to him.

When he arrived before the Greater Winged Demon and their blades collided it created sparks in the air and the Greater Winged Demon was pushed back under the pressure and might of Lucien's strike.

Then after the Greater Winged Demon lost part of his balance, Lucien shot at him several crystal projectiles created through his ukaku wings to injure the Greater Winged Demon even more.

During the time the Greater Winged Demon was trying to defend against the crystal projectiles, Lucien was already in the battle stance and prepared to strike at his enemy. In a split of a second, he performed perfect Iaido and severed one arm of the Greater Winged Demon.

Blood spurted out of the wound and Demon was completely shocked that one of his arms was now severed, but it was not time to be shocked as Lucien was already before him and his katana was piercing through his throat.

After the Greater Winged Demon fell down dead, Lucien was a bit disappointed as the Viscount-Ranked Winged Demon was too weak. Thinking back it was understandable it was weak as it was only ordinary cannon fodder so its combat prowess would be rather low.

Then he stored the corps of the Greater Winged Demon in his Cross Crest and continued in his search for more Greater Demons in this layer.

Sadly thee weren't anymore. Just some random Greater Winged Demons and nothing more. Not counting the small swarms of Imps that were here and there.

Thus Lucien started thinking about entering the third layer of this small underground world as he had never entered it before.

From what he knew, that layer now housed many powerful Greater Demons and even Demon Nobles appeared rather often, but they were quickly disposed of by four people guarding it down there.

Besides Lucien's father, Asmodeus and his grandfather Azrael from their race, there was also the patriarch of the Vampire Clan of the Wandenreich and, together with his father, Old Ancestor of the Vampire Clan of Empire.

Thinking about it a bit more, Lucien decided to enter the third layer to fight stronger demons...

This was really the start of the New Era...

Start of the Apocalypse Doomsday!

So, yes...

This book was originally the first fanfic that I have ever published as in the year 2018 and it was shit, causing me to drop it in 2020...

It was then rewritten over the next two years and published slowly as rewritten version...

With this, Book 1 is completed.

Actually, sometime in the future, there would be Book 2... which I want to do as some kind of post-apocalyptic novel, something in the style of Apocalypse World of the novel I Have a Mansion in a Post-Apocalyptic World, Fallout and other things...

Initially, I wanted to have this book dropped and let it be, cause it was a rather failed project from the start, but after reading fanfic named Terror Infinity: Accidental Player by Player_Tenason I changed my mind... Author of that one, did one pretty cool fic, though only mentioned briefly, but still... essentially a Zombie Apocalypse where Ghouls ruled the world...

That inspired me to rewrite the Ghoul King and do something similar...

So Book 2 of Ghoul King Saga: Apocalypse, would be done in the future
