I glanced at my newest creation on the field with pride. A Spike Glop! Inspired by the game I remember called Terraria the spike glop has a single spike in front of its body, and it then will propel that spike into enemies. Now, the spike itself is able to penetrate through demons slightly, but the more important part is that once it lands the spike will lose its shape and turn into a standard glop and eat whatever it hits from the inside. Or blend it if it is inedible, turning into a blender within the body. I naturally started to field this new Glop a lot. They take twice as much of me than a standard glop. But it's pretty worth it.
As for the Chapter Master? He's currently training up a legion of my glops. I decided to try a bit of experimentation here, and I forcefully disassociated myself with those Glops. To see what he could do with them. Now? Well, they've lost their green colors. Instead of becoming a more yellowish color, and what's more, they now have faces similar to a Space Marines face. It is really weird. Regardless, he is training over twelve thousand glops. He isn't alone either, he went and grabbed another few space marines in the same color armor and they are putting my glops through the ringer in terms of training.
You see, apparently physical effort does help out the strength of glops. They would form themselves into arms to do push ups, and morph themselves in various ways according to the instructions of the Chapter Master and other trainers. The Glops have also adapted to the spirit of the Chapter Master himself. Taking on similar personality traits, and a rather undying loyalty to the Emperor.
Every once in a while I'll hear "FOR THE EMPEROR!" In the designated training area… I say every once in a while, but it was pretty constant. Meanwhile the situation on the battlefront hasn't really changed. I'm consistently being pressured, my glops were fairly hard to corrupt, and they were able to eat through most of Khorne's unending army. Unfortunately, that was starting to change. Despite my forces growing stronger, the Chaos was figuring out new ways to deal with us.
My hatred of Chaos Magic grows with every inferno that pours over the battlefield evaporating my glops. Naturally I started to field countermeasures to it, large glops with a bunch of liquified glops within it would spray onto the eldritch fires and eat through it. But still, I lost a lot of land when they realized that flame magics would work on my forces. So the battlefield is now constantly littered with different types of flames that were slowly pushing me back. Not to mention it actually hurt.
It didn't help that all I could hear over the battlefield was "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!" over and over again. Was getting on my damn nerves. So I was constantly fielding anything I could think of, I was employing trench warfare, making solidified brick like material out of my gloppy self, that would create walls, and making massive spiker glops that would spit out dozens of glops over a second or two. I was lucky I grew from eating the daemons, or I would have been pushed back much further than I was. Luckily I was growing stronger.
With every new advancement, every new push. I took to the field, slowly pushing further and further into the chaos. Taking a few inches every day. Then losing six inches the next week, before regaining that land once more, and getting further past. Then losing more again. Stronger Daemons would appear and push my forces back, before running away before I could eat them. The Daemons had a new smaller Daemons I have dubbed gremlins that had only one role. Run into my glops and explode into flame magic. They were trying to raze me from the Immaterium, to limited effect.
Meanwhile, I was getting a bigger influx of new souls as things were happening on the materium side. Apparently the Chaos was trying to attack me from within by getting someone within the materium to do a ritual to open a gate within my territory. Like with the emperor. Luckily, the Lamenters, whose name feels rapidly familiar, have teamed up with another group called the Salamanders. But they really didn't like each other. Or well, The Salamanders didn't seem to trust the Lamenters in the slightest, but the Lamenters had respect for the Salamanders. The Salamander Chapter Master came to talk to me, but I was busy dealing with the Chaos razing my army with hellfire at the time, so he just watched me rapidly try and come up with counter measures against the Chaos. Something about it made them approve of me, and call me a wayward mutant human, instead of a daemon.
The Chapter Master then got his own legion of glops to train. Which rapidly changed just like the Lamenter's Glop legion. By the way, something I didn't know was that traversing the immaterium as they were, wasn't supposed to be as possible as it seems to be. Apparently staying within my domain makes it a lot safer as they cannot hear the whispers of the warp and the Psychers within the materium in my territory seem to enjoy staying near it due to them not constantly hearing whispers.
Regardless, this was taking ages. Even with the assistance of the Imperium. Not to mention the Mechanicum was hard to work with. I had several trying to recreate the bolter with my abilities. Apparently my malleable properties allowed me to replicate nearly any normal metal from the materium if I put enough effort into it, it just lost its mobility. The only problem was making a weapon that was capable of actually damaging the Chaos. Physical damage from the first basic bolter barely dented a daemon. So they were experimenting and trying to figure out what weapon applied and actually worked. One of the most promising ones was the flamers. Unfortunately, I am not really resistant to fire, so the thing blew up when it was put into practice. I've been working on a more flame resistant glop to use in production, but its taking time, as everything else is.
I needed to do something drastic to change the direction of this eternal battle. To bring me a decisive victory. So I started to study the daemons themselves. I found that they can't form within several miles of my territory, namely cause the more damage I sustained, the more my essence spread over the immaterium making it harder for new daemons to form, as the emotions, goals, and desires that would form them were regulated and converted into dreams and visions instead of becoming a daemon. Saw some pretty horrific stuff in those visions and dreams, luckily as my essence sorts out the emotions they become tamer, and more in line with morality as time passes. So the Daemons have to form further away and walk or fly to the front lines. Too bad I wasn't actually a psyker, or else I could possibly do something with this knowledge. For now I'll just wait on those two legions to get trained, hopefully they will spearhead me deeper into the immaterium.
