Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

You have been allowed to continue because you are useful. Tolerable. The situation, however, has changed, and your usefulness with it.

Take the pirate deal. Record the meeting. Speak of this to no one.

This datapad will self-destruct in 60 seconds. Dispose of the evidence.

An Agent will be in contact within 48 hours.

Hahah I got mission impossible vibes.

Paranoia can say he was the real target, but considering that the force of the shot sheared through his armored uniform. The assassin was probably expecting a two for one shot special, through two normally uniformed bodies.

That way, Hiral gets executed for failing to protect Kaine, and the "leader" of the Guild dies to allow for the most influential governors to tear it apart for control. Minda is a prize worth killing for, as the source of both the Oversector's ships, but also a wellspring of tech innovations that affects both federal and civilian sectors as well

Moff, he has a Moff in his clutches. Multi planetary leader. ( Sector leader IIRC ).
Murr is a Governor, he runs the system full of smugglers.
But the other parts of their reports did yield some interesting information.

Governor Jelbrak Murr ran the Revik system. I remembered him from the Guild meetings. A cunning man, always finding a way to profit. It was fitting, given the Revik system was a known center of smuggling.

Internal Security and Naval Logistics of the Imperial Guild New

OFFICIAL SECTOR ADVISORY | IGCPP-OPERATIONAL-STATUS

SUBJECT Internal Security and Naval Logistics of the Imperial Guild

DISTRIBUTION Myto Sector Command / Naval Logistics Division

AUTHORIZATION Office of the Moff, Myto Sector

CLASSIFICATION Restricted Asset Overview

I. ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW

The Imperial Guild of Commerce, Protection and Production (IGCPP) maintains a decentralized naval presence to secure member-world trade routes. Rapid expansion of the Guild has resulted in a non-standardized fleet profile. While integration with the Imperial Navy is a long-term strategic goal, current operations rely on a variegated inventory of third-party and decommissioned vessels. This logistical complexity is noted but deemed acceptable for localized defense.

II. ASSET CLASSIFICATION

The Guild fleet is comprised of three primary categories of vessels, ranging from light interceptors to heavy sector anchors.

Primary Command Anchors

The Guild maintains a limited heavy-hull inventory, capped at 24 total vessels to remain within Imperial naval quotas.

  • Dreadnought-Class Heavy Cruiser Standard heavy engagement platform.
  • Neutron Star-Class Bulk Cruiser Utilized for high-durability patrol loops.
Escort and Carrier Elements

  • CR-90 Corellian Corvette Standard configuration for rapid response.
  • CR-90 Farstar Refit Modified light carrier variant capable of supporting one starfighter squadron.
  • Marauder-Class Assault Corvette Specialized for anti-piracy and heavy ordnance delivery.
  • Sphyrna-Class Hammerhead Corvette Utilized for picket duty and interdiction.
  • Tartan-Class Patrol Cruiser Primary anti-starfighter screen for Guild convoys.
Starfighter Complement

The Guild utilizes a broad array of older models including the R-41 Starchaser, Z-95 Headhunter, and Toscan 8-Q. However, the CloakShape Fighter remains the preferred platform due to modular customizability and simplified maintenance cycles.

III. PATROL GROUP ARCHITECTURE

While standardization is ongoing, the Guild generally deploys in mixed-tonnage "Security Taskings" organized around a central carrier or heavy hull.

  • Heavy Security Tasking
    • 01 Command Anchor (Dreadnought or Neutron Star)
    • 02 CR-90 Farstar Carriers
    • 03 Tartan or Marauder Escorts
  • Light Patrol Element
    • 01 CR-90 Farstar Carrier
    • 02 Sphyrna-Class Corvettes
    • 02 Mixed CloakShape Squadrons

IV. OPERATIONAL CONSTRAINTS AND JURISDICTION

Guild forces operate under strict geographic and legal limitations to prevent encroachment upon Imperial Navy prerogatives.

  • Jurisdictional Boundary Guild patrols are strictly prohibited from exiting the space of authorizing member systems. Under no circumstances are Guild ships to initiate hyperspace transits into unaligned or deep-space sectors without Imperial escort.
  • Imperial Command Override All Guild assets are subject to immediate commandeering by Imperial Navy officers. Commandeered Guild ships remain tethered to Guild-member space and cannot be utilized for out-of-sector campaigns.
  • Emergency Mercenary Procurement In high-threat scenarios, Guild commanders are authorized to issue impromptu mercenary contracts.
    • Credit Ceiling 15,000 Credits maximum per engagement.
    • Payment Protocol Compensation is handled via centralized Guild offices. No liquid currency is stored on Guild vessels to mitigate the risk of crew corruption.
    • Audit Requirement Proof of tactical necessity and detailed after-action reports must be filed within 24 hours of contract issuance.

V. LOGISTICAL SUMMARY

The current fleet composition presents significant strain on the supply chain due to the variety of required parts for non-Imperial hulls. Sector Command acknowledges that while these forces are effective for low-intensity piracy suppression, they are to be viewed as supplementary to the professional might of the Myto Sector Fleet.

Just a little something I decided to throw together. In my mine, the Guild has grown very quickly and there would obviously be growing pains with that. Since the MARD was busy, they decided to simply buy what ships they could on the open market and deal with it later, leading to an eclectic group of ship types. Now that Las is Moff, things will start to change but it will take time, as most tasks of this scale often do.

i wonder how many guild worlds will see this gap and start building ship's/parts for the guild.
even if it's just corvettes and such guild members building their own supply lines may be interesting, replicating minda on small scale.

does anyone know what the largest ship size/class that can be built on world?
Afterall weren't the calamari ships for the rebels built under water or converted buildings?? (i think?)

If we are talking about max size, then it is possible to make things like frigates and even Star Destroyers planetside if places like the Gwori Shipyards exist. However I imagine it is a lot easier in space given low gravity makes transporting and arranging all the large pieces far easier.

However all that probably requires rare and expensive manufacturing equipment. If we are talking what a planetary government can get ahold of, then I can see some decentralized starfighter manufacturers being set up to take advantage of the complicated logistics situation of the Guild.

An attempt had been made on the life of a Grand Moff. Now, I was fairly certain that I was the target, but Kaine was behind me. It was a reasonable assumption that I was just hit by accident. But the Rebellion would've bombed the entire gala, and no syndicate would ever do something so foolish.

They're screwed. They accidentally tried to assassinate a Grand Moff. ISB will have their hide.

I hadn't even gone to visit Ife in the hospital, as much as I'd wanted to. I did send her a small box of my favorite coco blend. My wallet cried, but it was worth it.

I can't help but feel like at least with those close to Ife or around her while she is in medical will start rumors about how he cared for her enough to to send her something. hell those close to Las and who know how much he doesn't like spending money on things that really don't improve myoto might think something is up with both of them. hell i expect our resident sith gremlin to be one of those who start those rumors.

Early on in the story, Las said that he wanted a space yacht and a sexy space wife. He's had a yacht (personal escape ship) for a while now. Is he going to get a space wife (actual wife, girlfriend, friend-with-benefits, one night stand, or something like that)? Or will he only have a space wife in our dreams, and the rumor mill of his people who talk about his harem of competent, scary space wives?

Omake: Reluctantly Raising Irregulars

POV: Curti R'Noc, Imperial Auxillary Recruit, training camp Y-283, Ugea, Myto sector

"ATTEN-TION!"

Curti sweat under her helmet as she began to listen to her Imperial training officer's speech. It made the bony ridges around her eyes itch. Being forced to stand in formation in the assembly plaza of their training camp for over two hours before the sergeant's speech. Yet the midday heat was accompanied by something else, pride.

Today was their last day in this Imperial Training Center. The sergeant had come to the platform with a COMPNOR officer standing right behind him. After today her company of recruits would be sent to their battalion to begin their service. Now if only today wasn't such a scorcher.

"WHAT I SEE BEFORE IS SOME OF THE SORRIEST AND POORLY EQUIPPED LOT TO EVER APPEAR BEFORE MY EYEBALLS!"

The sweat began to pool in her blast vest before the first hour had ended. Curti didn't care. All her company of fresh recruits were equipped with were some lousy CDEF rifles and three comlinks between the whole company. She didn't care. She didn't care because she was here and she chose to be here.

Her battalion was going to be deployed to reinforce an existing formation and provide "General Support". This was explained to her as doing whatever someone who outranked told you to do, which was basically everybody. She didn't care because she was finally joining the Imperial Military to do her part.

"I WILL NOT TRY TO UNDERSTAND WHY YOU CRAWLED TO MY TRAINING CAMP! LET ALONE WHY YOU STAYED AFTER THE FIRST WEEK! EVERY LICK OF COMMON SENSE SHOULD HAVE TOLD YOU TO CHOOSE ANOTHER PATH!"

The sergeant's words were completely reasonable. If Cutri wanted personal benefit she would have joined the Guild. If she just wanted to protect only her local community she would have joined her world's PDF. One path was more rewarding and the other was far safer. Cushy deployments decided on planetary loyalty or who was signing the paychecks that week.

However that wasn't what Cutri wanted. She wanted to go where she was needed, not where Credits or a planetary government dictated. Her sector, her family, and her way of life were in danger. Pirates and anarchists were surging into the sector looting what they could and destroying what they couldn't. Not even the Moff was safe from their desire for chaos and destruction. This crisis wasn't going to solve itself. Someone needed to step up and deal with it and that someone was going to be Cutri. They couldn't just bury their heads and let some mass produced army go out to do the fighting like in the Clone Wars.

"YET HERE YOU ARE! BADGERING THOSE POOR IMPERIAL RECRUITERS TO JOIN THE IAB!"

So when the sector government announced that the newly created Imperial Auxiliary Battalions (or Imperial Alien Battalions to its detractors) would be open to all loyal sentients, Cutri ran to the nearest Imperial Recruitment Office to hand in her application. The poor recruiter barely looked her in the eye amidst the stacks of other applications. Tides of her fellow Non-huMans looking to protect their fellow Imperial citizens.

A recruiter might be able to reject one Non-huMan applicant on "insufficient physical qualities". However when the applications came in the hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? There were only so many excuses a High Humanist can come up with before they had to let some through.

The recruiter had spouted arguments memorized by rote to try and dissuade her. Citing the IABs' poor equipment, poor pay, a benefits package notable by what was absent rather than what was present, and a bedrock bottom ranking within the military hierarchy as a primarily Non-HuMan formation. None of it worked. Cutri was dead set on joining the Imperial Military and this was the most certain way to do so.

"YOU LOT ARE ABOUT TO JOIN A MILITARY THAT SEES YOU AS MEAT AT BEST AND AN IRRITANT THE REST OF THE TIME! EVERY OTHER SOLDIER DOWN TO THE POOR BLOODY INFANTRY WILL BE BETTER TRAINED AND EQUIPPED THAN YOU LOT!"

Cutie's grip on her rifle tightened at the sergeant's baffled tone. They had been given low quality equipment even a R1 mercenary might turn their noses up at. Their training was an expedited two month course. It was barely enough time to get them acquainted with their one weapon and the barest understanding of squad tactics and running patrols. Anything else was focused on PT to get us up to something resembling a standard.

She knew they were never going to be the best soldiers. The Imperial Military never intended to make them the best soldiers, or even particularly good ones. That didn't matter to them. What mattered to them was being allowed to do their part to keep their sector safe. It was what they all volunteered for after all.

"DO NOT BE EXPECTED TO BE TREATED ANY BETTER JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE WEARING THE IMPERIAL CREST! YOU LOT ARE GOING TO BE THE LOWEST OF THE LOW IN THE IMPERIAL MILITARY! YOUR FELLOW SOLDIERS AND THE CIVILIANS AROUND YOU WILL VIEW YOU WITH SUSPICION AND CONTEMPT!"

That is what made Cutri worry the most. Would her fellow Imzig see her as a traitor for serving a state that sees sentients like them as second class citizens? Would her parents slam the door in her face if she showed up on leave? In the end it was just one more sacrifice in the name of service when she chose to enlist.

"YOU MAY HAVE THOUGHT THIS TRAINING WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE! WELL THAT IS WRONG! TODAY MARKS THE END OF YOUR GRACE PERIOD AND THE START OF THE REAL WORST PERIOD OF YOUR LIVES!

I HAVE DONE ALL I CAN TO PREPARE YOU FIR THE ORDEAL AHEAD! NOW GET OUT THERE! MAKE YOURSELVES USEFUL! AND DO YOUR DUTY TO THE EMPEROR! FOR THE EMPIRE!"

Cutri took no offense at the sergeant's speech. Not the content nor the sergeant's brief glance to the COMPNOR officer behind him disheartened her. They had all become acquainted with the sergeant's voice in their brief time together, and she couldn't help but hear the faint smattering of pride in his voice. She was sure the other recruits heard it too. The only was one way to respond to that pride:

"FOR THE EMPIRE!"

——
Good PR and semi-decent treatment can lead to some strange places. Non-HuMans in the Imperial Military are a touchy topic. The Empire is very humancentric and views diversity as a threat to stability. Usually Non-HuMans are heavily discouraged from joining the Army or Navy unless there are some exceptional circumstances like with Thrawn or the Inquisitors. If you did join up as a Non-HuMan in the Imperial military, you were never making it to officer and would be busted for the slightest assumption. That or you were just herded en masse to your deaths on the frontlines like the Ranat.

Unfortunately for the High Humanists, Las actually treats his Non-HuMan populations relatively well. Which means the local Imperial Military is probably dealing with a bunch of enlistment applications from those groups as the Blue Milk hits the fan with the pirates. I can see something like the IABs being created as a sort of pressure valve. A way to divert all that Pro-Imperial sentiment into something useful. A method to integrate a group the Imperial Military as an institution actively despises into its structure in a form that it can tolerate about as willingly as a canker sore.
