To all of you who have been calling Vader's squadron Death's Head squadron, that is wrong; it is called Death Squadron

Specifically, he flew at 191 of the maximum maneuver rating. Meaning Seventh Brother was no longer the reigning champ, and Vader now had the power to drift a starfighter in space.

A part of me feared for the future of the rebellion, for I was relying on their victory at Endor to escape.

A part of me just though the idea of Darth Vader drifting a TIE fighter in space to be really fucking cool.

Yup, as much as Vader says he killed Anakin, the SKywalker in him shows up from time to time. Honestly this reminds of that Lego Star Wars scene where Vader sees a Naboo fighter again

also, did anyone remember that Las has power armor that is pretty fast and agile, and that is without a ton of research since we last saw them. Imagine Vader gets those plans to make a faster more powerful suit for him to wear

Vader is one of the guys in the setting who really doesn't need power armor. With the force he is as strong as he needs to be whenever he wants to. That he would need mechanical enhancement could easlily be considered insulting. To the point where he might take offence at the mere suggestion.

About the only reason Vader may use Las's power armour design is that it catches his interest, so he decides that he is the best test subject, which is both perfectly possible and actually pretty likely

I remember a comic about a stormtrooper becoming friends with Vader and wishing him a happy birthday. Probably doesn't have a happy ending now that I think about it.

A lot of the troopers that were good enough to be transferred to under his command later on were ones he actually protected...same reason why the majority of his forces remained as Clones until they were having physical issues in Legends, and that a good portion of the 501st knew or at least heavily suspected who Vader was.

Hell, one of the planets in the Vjun system (the same system where Bast Castle was on the uninhabtable one) was habitable and one that was almost entirely populated by clones that Vader sent there if they were to injured or having aging issues along with several hand picked medics and similar to help them.

Legends Vader was exceedingly loyal to the competent men under him, and to the people he sponsored if they weren't intentionally a mess for him to clean up...such as him mentoring Kharys and a few others...and the lengths he went to in order to save Shira's life, though that ended up with Lumiya later on that Luke had to deal with.
