Hi there, just wanted to create some sort of comprehensive list of things here. There will be another informational with a more detailed breakdown of Las's available military forces, but this is just an overview and a way for me to keep things organized.

As always, I'm open to suggestions, and thank you for reading. The response has been incredible, across all platforms('cept for SV, mods have to clear Cap 2 there first).

I have a question is there anything specific Los is looking for in the scans, I know you have stated that from the captain Veer (but it had been the site of some CIS and Republic sites and skirmishes, Any wreckage, while old, might still hold value.) But from what I gather los is looking for something very specific as he stated that in this dialogue (
Could the Gauntlet scan for wrecks and debris?"
She paused for a minute, debating the question. Finally, she answered.

"Unless they are buried deep, it's possible."
His eyes seemed to shine.

"Good. I want full scans of the other major landmasses of Minda 3, along with scans of the other planets in the system. Once finished, report your findings back to me.)
Also is captain Veer a family member of general veer.

Is his family gonna end up taking refuge in the system during the post endor period?
It would depend if this is legends canon or Disney canon Since they seem to be die hard loyalists they most likely would join the first order in Disney, or join up with one of the warlord factions in legends.

Nice and the ball stsrts rollin'! I am curious to see what he'll find with the scans and do.

How many fields go unplanted? Forests not being razed to the ground? Wells of natural resources not being plundered? All because there aren't enough people?

I think you are under a mistaken impression with regards to forests and their value.

Ecosystem and green mumbo jumbo aside, most trees are undervalued resources. They get cut doen whilst after being of an older age. Many can be tapped for saps that make luxery product serups and saps.

Unfortunately they require to be a certain diameter which comes with age, for example 25 years old or in the case of maple 50 years. Making orchards a multigenerational project that often is not persued over easy projects.

Add to it that planting lots of trees of the same species together makes them less resilient to pests and plagues amongst their kind, and you got a risky business.

Forests, especially untouched ones are gold mines to anyone who knows what they have at hand. Especially multi-species heavy forests which here on earth, are in short supply.

This just points at tapping them for sap, which in a single season per tree easily earns you more than the wood for the entire tree does with any tree that has a consumable or otherwise useful sap.

Many trees have edible portions, or mineral rich portions that can be used as well without killing the tree. The expression 'eat your bark' comes from that. In fact its still practiced today in some nordic countries where they add tree bark to the bread for its mineral values and its supprisingly tasty.

Add to it that some treebulbs even on needled trres like specific kinds of spruce are genuine vegible crops, others flower and when combined with bees making honey of it make honey of higher values, and other animals such as pigs and deer are actually better kept in a forest than a field, and you have a multipronged multipurpose forest of epic exploitation results at hand that you consider as something that should be razed.

A field would make you less money than a forest. The wood of a forest doesnt even come close to the amount of money it makes in a single year of exploitation.

Adding to it that you still have to prune the place of sick trees that you can use for wood, and replace for fruit trees in a form of permaculture food forest practice and you have to be incredibly short sighted to cut down a forest in exchange for a measily field.

Its like, exchanging a gold bar for a few coins with someone walking by, so you can get a snack from a vending machine because you want a snack right now, and dont want to bother to exchange the gold for its worth at a vendor down the street. Unfortunately thats also the society we live in irl, quick buck at the cost of long term profits :p mostly

Very interesting. That quote of mine was mostly just a comedic bit, but I never knew that tree's could do all that. I might work some of that in if I can, seems like an interesting avenue. Maybe a niche market of specialty saps and mineral rich food? Who knows...

They would probably either obey the imperial ruling council or view them as incompetent idiots and hole up with MC untill someone emerged out of the mess to fix the rebel/new republic situation like hells hammers did in the south, but MC could pledge himself to Grand Moff Ardus Kaine depending on where his system is located since the pentastar alignment did have some systems very close to dubrillion, not to mention it would be safer than going independent in the post endor period

Yeah man thats the beauty, it is a niche market of luxery goods, mostly because it takes so much time for a tree to get to that point where it can be exploited.

This means you get A LOT of bang for your buck when you market it as such a luxury good. Just look at things like maple, birch etc and their prices for saps today.

It gets absolutely disgusting when you look up every type of tree exploitation you know and find a list of trees that can also be tapped or otherwise harvested from and look up the prices of said goods.

If you own or owned a forest and had it cut down for wood, chances are you get upset reading just a single one of those lists as a lot of well known, common trees you used to think are only good for wood are on there and are so much more valuable when exploited than their wood lines your pocket.

One thing that pops to my mind is droids from the CIS. Those could be reprogrammed to be extra manpower that the system needs. Beyond that you might find some intact shuttles or star fighters. And if all else fails you can always do a little bit of ship breaking. Also I don't know how extensive these were but CIS ships must all have droid repair bays. So that malfunctioning droids can be serviced. There might even be a small droid factory in one, though I don't know how cannon that is.

The best though very unlikely find would be a mostly intact star destroyer. Be it a Republic or CIS ship, very unlikely to happen but possible. Perhaps you can also weld a bunch of hulks together and build a really shitty space station.

Yup.

It get's even worse when you see how the Greens always make it impossible to manage such forests, even though the best way to maintain them, is make sure it pays.

You need predicable, stable rules to make long term management work. And the only certainty of current Gov interactions is they'll stop you managing the forest the moment they think they can.

There's a reason why our forests are in terrible shape, and it's name is the Forestry Department.

Minda 5 is a jungle hellhole that would make Catachan look like the suburbs, making colonization near impossible without heavy duty equipment. Even then, the natives would not look kindly on any attempted invasion.
Minda 2
- Population: Undetermined number of primitives
- Military Forces: Undetermined number of primitives
- Planet Type: Hyper-Dense Jungle
Minda 2-A
- Population: 0
- Military Forces: 0
- Moon Type: Archipelago Filled Ocean
If the jungle world of Minda 5 is more dangerous than Catachan than there is bound to be something worthwhile on it.

My Idea is that a research base gets built on the moon with all the archipelago's.
The base could send viper probe droids to the planet to scan for any useful material or even collect samples for the scientists to study.

Pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies are always looking for new things to turn in products or medicine and the dangerous jungle moon could draw in biologists and researchers to serve as a scientific resource for future research projects.
An idea could be a biotech company after studying the life on the jungle planet ends up creating something like the Bio viper from GI Joe renegades to sell to the empire as a weapon.
tumblr_mamhhrksyB1qlpgkfo10_1280.png

Even if nothing comes from researching the jungle planet the governor could use the archipelago moon for in system tourism or set up a aquaculture or fishing industry on archipelago moon for a food source.

Since mc doesn't know if he is in either Legends, Disney, or a mix of the two. Or at least that's the impression I am getting and until he does. I doubt he would side with either the Empire or the Rebels till he knows more of what's going on in the wider galaxy.

I also think Las's mother should of put her foot down when he was younger. Him being lazy is because he had no ambitions in life after living in luxury for his entire life.

I can see any Rebel spy seeing what mc did and going "Did he hit his head or something for this 180 shift in personality?"

Honestly i think a rebel or ISB agent would chalk it up to just how fucked he is if he ends up in th infantry via protest wake up call.

Although that would be inresting to see, watching his ISB sister and his mother discus his actions/ the rebels finding out the nepo baby is actually competant when push comes to shove.

Hi there, just wanted to toss this out before the next chapter. Mostly just here to give both myself and all y'all a concise list of Las's military forces for easy reference. Will try to update this as the story progresses, but feel free to remind me if I seem to have forgotten.

As always, constructive criticism regarding my writing, and in the case of this post, especially my lore-accuracy, along with ways to move the story forward are always welcome.

Thanks for reading!

Good story.
Hope to see more.

By the way, curious about this possible scenario:
How many resources would Palpy give us for free (provided that he does not kill us or mind rapes us) if we told him where Yogurt was located.

Chp-3: Love Dat Trash New
Chp-3: Love Dat Trash
I was sat in my office, doing Very Important Work. I was brute force calculating the precise necessary trajectories needed to maximize potential profit and secure overwhelming victory.

"Kobe!"

The rubber ball missed wildly, bouncing throughout the room, forcing me to cower bravely take cover behind my desk.

From my hiding place fortress steel, I heard the hiss of the doors to my office. Immediately, I jumped into my seat and flattened my uniform just in time for Darna to walk into my office. Clad in the stark grey uniform most imperial bureaucrats wear which contrasted nicely with her teal blue skin, she cut a sharp, professional figure. The type of office worker you know gets shit done.

"Hello Darna, what hav-" Before I could greet her, my totally calculated high velocity projectile rebounded off a wall, smacked the top of my skull, and went flying right into Darna's waiting hand.

I withered under her glare as I rubbed the top of my head.

"I see you're working hard" she says in a clearly unamused tone.

"I was brute force calculating the precise necessary-"

"You were playing with a ball"

"I was playing with a ball"

A silence stretched between us, one that Las's memories told me were not unlike those suffered under his mothers wrath.

With a sigh, she placed a datapad on my desk. Taking the opportunity for what it is, I quickly engrossed myself in the numbers. Whatever makes her stop looking at me like a disappointment.

"The prospectors from Eckshi Mining have reported that the asteroid belts are filled not only with a bevy of dwarf planet sized asteroids, but there seem to be some fairly considerable possible resource deposits. They're asking to buy the rights to portions of the belt."

"Absolutely not. I'm willing to rent out portions of the belt for mining claims, but no permanent ownership"

Hopefully, this system would allow me to make some solid cash. Enough, and I could fund some new infrastructure. I was thinking of setting up a refinery/mining base on one of the super-asteroids, which could fund other expansions, which would fund other expansions, and so on and so forth.

Then I realized something.

"Darna, why are you here in person? This could have been sent directly to my terminal"

She seemed to pause, like a deer caught in headlights. A clear nervousness in her body language told me that whatever she was about to say, it couldn't be good.

"...I just wanted to ask about your plans moving forward"

Odd, but I doubt this is the crux of the issue. "What about them?"

"...I wanted to know where you are going to source the…labor for your upcoming infrastructure projects."

Labor…oh! "Don't worry about it, I don't do that slavery shit."

My crude language seems to surprise her, almost as much as my declaration. "But wouldn't it be easier…?"

"First of all, slavery is for braindead social climbers who can't comprehend the real worth of sentient capital. Secondly, if I bring slaves into the system, that means slave labor businesses will start setting up shop, taking work from the locals. Not only will that inevitably invite more crime(the Hutt's terrify me, though I won't tell her that), but it's bound to get my office firebombed by protesters and my mailbox pumped chock full of anthrax! Also slavery is just bad for local businesses, including me, so…"

Darna just stands there, frozen in what must be complete awe of my incredible speechifying skills.

"...you don't support slavery…because it's bad for business?"

"And because I can comprehend the worth of sentient capital, yes."

She just stares at me in confusion. I sigh, wishing I had a whiteboard or something(investment idea? Don't know who would buy one with holograms around but maybe?).

"Okay, so think of it like this. People, that is sentients, produce value. They do this by getting an education, working a job, buying things, paying taxes. While cheap labor can produce shit real cheap, those slaves aren't producing as much value for the economy and society as they would if they were free, educated, and working better jobs. With more people engaging in the economy, more companies spring up, more inventors, more investments, more new technology, etc… This allows the society as a whole to grow. All slavery really does is produce cheap labor, and throws away all the potential those slaves might have. How many might become doctors, decorated war heroes, hyper-skilled scientists and inventors? How many of them might change the world? It's a waste I tell you, complete and utter waste. Not only that, but slaves are people, with emotions, a will to live, etc… that means that by enslaving people, I would be inviting their hatred onto myself. I'm trying to MINIMIZE the number of enemies I make, and slavery would mean a whole CASTE of people would hate my guts. That's not worth it to me, no siree."

Confusion and wide eyes. Does she not get it? "Ahh, whatever, you don't gotta get it. Anyways, while you're here, has Captain Veer sent any reports?"

The query seemed to rile her from within her mind, and she snapped straight back into secretary mode.

"Ah, yes sir. Captain Veer has already done scans of both remaining continents planet-side, along with both moons, and is currently in the process of scanning Minda 2. Apparently, the other continents are more diverse in regards to biomes, while both moons have some deep canyons that could hold both mining facilities or hidden defense hangars. Also, the wreckage of an old Republic Acclimator has been identified on Minda 3-A, though due to the precarious positioning of the wreck, the Captain thought it too dangerous to investigate."

An Acclamator? I slid my datapad over to me as Darna sent the files. Opening the scan results up, it took me a few seconds to find the Acclamator. Looking at it, it was certainly in a bad position. Dangling over a ravine, the only reason it hadn't fallen was because it hit the ravine at an angle, and the nose seemed to be stuck in the opposite wall, stopping it from sliding further. It would certainly be tough to recover, but it looked to be in decent shape.

Scorch marks marred the hull, but otherwise there seemed to be few penetrations, and no missing pieces or armor panels.

"Call up the Sector Office at Dubrillion, see if they can't send some heavy-duty tractor-tugs out here. If we can restore this thing, it'll make for a great cargo ship."

"Cargo? I was under the impression it was a troop transport."

"Was. The Greater Empire doesn't take well to Republic symbology. One of the reasons they phased out LAAT's. Using it as a troop transport might rub some fanatics the wrong way. Also, we don't need mass troop transport. Might as well make a profit on this"

God I love money.

Hi there. Once again, thank you for reading. Not as much going on during this chapter, mostly set up for future actions.

As always, feedback about my writing, lore accuracy, and where the story could go is always appreciated.

Confusion and wide eyes. Does she not get it?
I think she might be a rebel agent inserted to feel out possible base locations who is genuinely confused why tf is their intel on the guy so inaccurate or a regular near-human stupefied by seeing an imperial from a distinguished family who does not have a hate boner for all non humans

Also given that it's QQ i bet this backwater system will become a dumping ground for undesirables in the empire aka. dead end "promotion" for women since sexism was a prominent part of the empire and those women who made it in the imperial educational institutions were either politically savvy (Natasi Daala) or simply THAT competent (Tanda Pryl), wouldn't be too surprising if the latter type got manouvered into taking this "promotion", time to collect a harem of hyper competent subordinates

edit
I wonder if the family members will rationalize his change as "this sneaky bastard, he didn't want to climb the ladder so he got himself into a nice comfy chair away from the stupidevil competitive system"

Acclamator is a great find it would make a great cargo ship one no pirate will want to fuck with since it is well armed for its size
[/QUOTE]
The problem with that is we do not know the state of damage that has occur to it as it seems from first glance that its relativity intact for crashing into a planet, even if it dangling over a ravine may bit of problem yet there was no attempt to recovered it and it cargo.
