Guardian of the Dark Night Begins(A:TLOK Quest)

There pretty much small time. Getting by on low level thefts and muggings.

Our opening act should be be big and flashy, to better strike fear in the heart of the criminals. Bringing the drug business down sounds like the way to go.

[X] Downtown's Taberu Street. Filled with restaurants, and offering a magnificent view of the San river flowing into Yue bay, it's one of the tourist hotspots of Republic City. At least during the day. At night, the streets overrun with the Red Monsoons, a Water Tribe street gang that likes to prey on unsuspecting tourists wandering around at night. Filled with pickpockets and cutpurses, Red Monsoons subsist on petty theft, rarely making use of their traditional bone weaponry. On the other hand, when they do use it, they use it well, well enough to earn their name.

[x]Smoketown. The industrial heart of Republic City, it's also the base of the Burning Glory Triad. A group consisting of the descendants of former Fire Nation Military who still believed in the glorious triumph of the Fire Nation over the world. The little setback Avatar Aaang dealt them, has done nothing to dose their ambition. Using their flames, they've cornered the market on protection rackets. And fully realizing that fire is life, they've taken control over most of Republic City's pimps, becoming the new kings of the flesh trade.


We should take care of them cause of the last sentence.

And here it is.

Dragons Flat Borough. Originally it was the village of Dragonfly, before the urban sprawl consumed it. Merging it with growing Republic City. Keeping to it's roots as former Colony village, the primary demographic is naturally Fire Nation. Filled with the working poor, its a breeding ground for troubled homes and troubled kids. Little wonder that most of the young join up with the Agni Kais. With the lack of anything or anyone important enough to warrant it, the police presence in the Borough is minimal. Cementing Dragons Flat's place as being on the other side of the tracks.

Comprised mostly of apartment complexes and minor Ma and Pa Stores, Dragons Flat has an excess of alleyways and sidestreets that provide the perfect hunting ground for the Agni Kais. Of course its the same for you. You don't even have to strain yourself to climb the nearest highrise, practically running up the wall. Once you reach the top, it's a smooth jog to across the rooftops, keeping up and out of sight of the civilians bellow. It's a boring run, interspaced with few hops while crossing the gaps between buildings, and a brief moment of excitement whenever you make a running leap to cross the streets that separate the buildings. So far, it's been a dull night.

You take moment to catch your breath, relaxing yourself on one of the higher apartment buildings in the borough. Centering yourself, you channel a bit of Chi to your ears, triggering the enhanced sensory state that Guru Pathik taught you so long ago. Closing your eyes, you can still taste that damn banana-onion juice of his. You actually miss it. You're getting distracted, focus.

Let's see what you can hear. Wind, a lot of wind, a few fragments of conversation from various points, but nothing important. To the west of you, there's a barking lizarddog chasing pygmy puma, to the south, the sound of heavy breathing, running footsteps, being followed by multiple sounds of the same. To the east, there's

Barely wasting a second, you haul off towards the south, focusing in on the sound of someone being chased. Roof hopping, you catch a glimpse of a red head in a business suit being chased by group of Agni Kais. From your vantage point you can see they're herding her to another group further ahead. You can tell that they plan on cutting her off and driving her into one of the alleys. Out of sight of any help, she'll be easy pickings for the gang.

What to do?

[ ] Let them herd her into an alley. That way you can drop down in between the gang and the victim, allowing them no chance to harm the victim.

[ ] Rush ahead and blitz the forward group, before hiding them and allowing the victim to pass. Then you can take down the chasers.

[ ] Sneak up behind the chasers and knock them out. That should take the pressure off the Victim, and cause her to stop running.

[ ] Screw strategy, subtlety, and secrets. You don't need to waste time or tactics on these losers. Just drop down there already and kick their ass.

[ ] Leave her, you need to focus on the bigger picture here.

[ ] Write in.
