This was a Shower Thought.
Not talking about a Jumpchain or Being a Planeswalker or Having Kaleidoscope.

Say you wake up one day and your power kinda works like the Jumper power from the Novels/Movie where if you are seeing/holding a picture/movie/show/comic/video game or you have really good image you can teleport to fictional worlds.
Nothing Extra, Not even the normal Jumper teleport just the Multiversal Travel and thats it. (And Coming Back if you want ofc)

What would be the easiest and/or safest verses to steal/get powers from to get the ball rolling?.

In my mind it has to be a place with relatively low stakes, or low external/multiversal entities, and getting something with gods or spirits or any op meta sentience might be a bad idea, like any DC shit has to deal with the Source Wall, the New Gods and the Endless and Any Marvel shit has their own cosmic crazies. Star Trek has the Q, Star wars has whatever the fuck the living force is, Type Moon has Gaia and Alaya, Dragon Ball has Zenoh , the Angels, The Kais and The Gods of Destruction, Ben 10 has the wierd 5th dimension aliens that looked like slushies, Bunch of Fantasy Settings have Angels, Demons, Gods, Fey and shit that can ruin your whole plans

For example my initial thoughts were: +Jackie Chan Adventures
+Xiaolin Showdown
+Avatar Verse (Arrow not Blue cat people)

In Jackie Chan and Xiaolin Showdown the things are obvious, the Talismans and Sheng Gong Wu would be easy as fuck to get, just put the episode when they appear and yoink them before the cast arrives.
As far as I know the SGW dont have any spirits or things inside them exept maybe Mala Mala Yong, So the only downside is seeing if they work outside their respective verses cause you dont have any fiat backing your shit.

In the Case of JC the only Repercussion for the verse is that the dragon cant get released if you yoink the talismans, and similarly on XS depending what you take Wuya might not get her body bag and Dragonman Evil Dude might not get released.

In the avatarverse at least according to the Wan Episodes, Lion Turtles were guardians of Humanity and would give them 1 of the bending styles (depending on the turtle) if asked to defend themselves against spirits , ofc they were expecting humans to give back the power but Lol. Lmao.. and then Wan sealed the spirit world and the turtles didnt gave more bending, but they also didnt take back what they already gave.
Ofc you would need to know how to ask for it, but appart from learning a some sentences on whatever lenguage avatarverse uses it might be easy AF.

Those were the easiest i coult think of the top of my head.

There others that are easy also but with more danger like:
-The Meteor that gave Vandal Savage his shit (the wiki says it was radiation so if you might just get cancer and die cause your are not from the verse and bs comic science doesnt work for you)

-Spiderpeople Spider Bite (Same as Vandal Savage you dont know if its gonna work of be like that one comic where no one had powers and like peter got all mutated tumors, banner died from the gamma etc)

-Symbiote (There is a lot of them just find a not crazy one lol. and depending on canon they might have a Multiversal Hivemind somehow...)

-The Sentry Serum (Again same problem with most comics pseudo crazy science stuff but with the added effect that idk if you would also get the Void cause its been retconned a lot so is either a demon/devil/evil spirit possesion, the serum itself created the void, the dude who mind whammied sentry made the void, the void was always there but the serum made him powerfull)

-From the OG X-men Live action movies: Magneto had the thing that made humans into mutants (You just gotta hope you get a cool mutation instead of being goop like the senator)

-JoJo Arrow/Jesus Parts: You might just straight up die to the arrow , or in the case you survive the stand might kill you

-Any Kind of Vampire: All of them have downsides, most more than others

-Any Kind of Were Creature: Same as Above

-Jumping on the Vita Chamber on the Peggy Captain Carter What If... Episode before her and hope they activate it anyways

-Eating a Devil Fruit: We kinda know of a few that were shown as their fruit form and most of them arent good, like you could yoink the Ope from Corazon before he gives it to law, get the CP9 Fruits without Dying somehow, The Mera Mera from the Colliseum or Getting the Gomu (Zoan have been said to retain the Will of whatever the fuck the transformation is so idk if a god´s will is dangerous or not), yoink the Dark Dark from Teach before Blackbeard (OFc you would have to surviva a ship of whitebeard pirates)

-Dragon Ball Wishes

-Any Kind of Djinn/Genie exept Aladdin´s maybe is asking for trouble

-Drink the Fountain of Youth Water before Ban on Seven Deadly Sins

-All the Cybernetic Upgrades from whatever verse has them

-Steal the Omnitrix

-Get Injected/Infected with the Nanties From Generator Rex

-Convince a Reality Warper like Frankin or Wanda to give you something (idk how would even begin to do that)

-Eating the Chakra Fruit before Kaguya and Hoping for the Best

-The Potions/Tea/Tonics whatever they were from the Rat Dude Merchant on Corruption of Champions were permanent upgrades

-Get the weird Crystals from the Uber comics and hope you dont die

-Inject/Eat the Pills with gourmet cells of Toriko and hope you dont die

-Man Triumphing Heaven Gu gives you an apperture to cultivate but idk if you can activate it by just eating it or you need essence first

There is probably more shit you can eat/inject that gives you goodies without many consequences but i cant think about them.

What about you all? where would you go first to start your journey?

EDIT: Follow up question after you have enough powers/items to feel safe (i would want 4 or 5 different ways of defending myself/survival) where would you go first to just visit?

I think the Alfie Verse of the Incase comics would be hilarious to visit for a few months, The verse from the SAGA comics looks really intresting and Fucking arround in genndy tartakovsky Primal (that is very simillar to Conan) would be cool to explore

Chronicle. You just have to follow the main characters and get to the "meteor" that gives them their powers, and viola - incredibly broad telekinesis that steadily grows in strength. And, bonus, no active threats until they gain said powers.

Holy shit i totally forgot about that movie, the only superpower movie that is not comic based i could remember was Push and that is all genetics

EDIT: you also made me remember that dumb pseudoscience Limitless tv show with the super pill. but the side effects are way too bad for the NXT (or something like that)

I'd go with RWBYs Aura. You just have to figure out how to get someone to grant it to you.
i like the aura overall cause of the forcefield and stat buff and then the eventual semblance. But Remnant is a deathworld and it wouldnt be my first choice, 3 to 5 sure but not the 1rst destination

I'd say it depends on how freely you can jump. If fairly easily, then using RWBY as a pit stop before anything else it's a very effective all around support power.

hmmm since i said Jumper rules lets say if you have your phone with pictures/videos or you bothered to actually print a screenshot or something of another world you can just dip, but if you dont have that you need to take time to get a clear mind image of where you are going

So keep a small picture of your room as backup for a quick jump but this setup does making pint point jumping a lot easier if you're careful. As long as you give yourself a reasonable buffer then visiting RWBY shouldn't be any more dangerous then visiting a normal modern world.

Aura is a good all over plus for survivability. So I'd say it's high up in my selection. What I'd probably do is download all of RWBY to a portable video player of some sort to trade with Ozpin to get Aura unlocked then a basic hunter kit.

It'd be interesting to try to figure out what exactly dust is. Does it only work in Remnent or will any world be fine. The secrets to functional foldable weapons could be worth a lot in our current world if it doesn't require anything exotic to build.

for figuring out dust i would guess you would need not only a intelligence boost (i am not smart at all to try to do scientific method on something) but also some kind of understanding of magic. Depending how Djinn wishes work you could get both from aladdin or get the NXT Pill from limitless and hmm idk where else to get magic without being born with it, i was thinking bathing the blood of a dragon but that more of a body boost than magic (you can just teleport where a hero has slain one and sneak a bath lol)

Im pretty sure i read/watcehd about a fruit of a drink that gave you magic but im not remembering from what fantasy setting was

Just came across this, and did a brief skim of your question.

Now, there are easy ways to obtain such powers, though they invariably come at a cost, usually loss of "humanity", "agency", etc., or it could be paid for in blood, lives, your soul...

Need a bit of clarification on what you're willing to go through for such power, but I'll give an example.

Honkai Impact's "Herrschers" grant you a powerset that's a bit semantic. Depending on how much you can stretch a concept, obtaining the power of the "Void" in canon granted its host, to give a brief list, manipulation of space-time, creation of portals, the creation of their own imaginary space like Fate's Reality Marble (if you're familiar with it), the propagation of an energy that turns those without good resistance into zombies and summons silicon-based lifeforms who thrive in such an environment.

Now, what's the catch? If you don't have sufficient willpower, a corruptive influence that comes with these powers will slowly erode your "sense of self" and gradually overtake you, turning you into an entity that will destroy humanity.

DC sounds like easy pickings. The Life Equation and Speed Force simply require you to recite certain phrases (though Speed Force might require some understanding, somehow), which then gives you the power to control them. Might work for Anti-Life too, though that might have side-effects, since I don't know if worshipping Darkseid only happens because Darkseid was the one using it or if it's an innate part of Anti-Life regardless of who uses it.

Speed Force: 3x2(9YZ)4A=?
Life Equation (assumed): companionship + understanding + assurance + joy + altruism ÷ respect ÷ commendation ÷ sympathy ⋅ innocence ⋅ dignity ⋅ success ⋅ acceptance y=n where y=despair and n=caution, love=truth, death=rebirth, and self=light side
Anti-Life Equation: loneliness + alienation + fear + despair + self-worth ÷ mockery ÷ condemnation ÷ misunderstanding ⋅ guilt ⋅ shame ⋅ failure ⋅ judgment n=y where y=hope and n=folly, love=lies, life=death, self=dark side

the problem with DC is the Source Wall, The New Gods, and whatever cosmic entity takes notice if you are not subtle, wheret god, lucifer, perpetua and her sons, etc. Cause remember your power is just the jump you dont have any fiat for anything so unless you jump to the newest DC shit where the source wall is gone you would be stuck on that part of the multiverse

My assumption was that you could jump back again. Basically going in, picking it up, and then leaving immediately. If you can't, then it might be worth considering what place you could go to without much trouble instead of what place gives you the most power. "Understand", "Limitless", or "Lucy" comes to mind.

i have 0 knowledge of honkai. my question is what would be your first stops if you could jump?
Oh, okay. It depends on whether I can freely jump between worlds or if I need to meet a condition first, but I would start with Sekirei and grab Akitsu, because waifu.

RWBY or Danmachi would be next, and the other will be the third, as both can provide a way to gain power easily (unless Aura doesn't take to outsiders), plus transforming, and thus concealable, weapons are always good. In Danmachi the Falna inscription process should work, and as for deities go anyone willing to let me do as I please is always a good choice, doesn't have to be Hestia all the time.

Monster Hunter can be a good choice, they have a wide selection of materials to make weapons with, provided that you can kill it first. Terraria is also a good choice for the same reasons, as is Astroneer's resource automation capabilities.

Basically, most of my choices are ones with stuff that I can use even as an outsider. Naruto may sound like a good choice, but it's not guaranteed if chakra would work, for example.

Assuming you have free interdimensional travel through pictures. DBZ despite it's raw power, can be safe-ish for a mundane person. Get yourself to Namek Pre/Early DBZ or post freeza saga. You'll basically have three free wishes and potential awakening. Though getting those wishes and potential awakening are entirely dependent on your character. Depending on your wishes, you can set yourself up for near infinite power before you get noticed by the multiverse entities there.

After your wishes, you are pretty much set. Even if you do get caught up in the DBZ multiverse you'd probably end up one of the strongest entities there. Not to mention you can potentially just find a quiet moment to sneak out of the multiverse cluster.

I'm not even going to talk about any of the other empowering things among DBZ as the less you do the better. Namek, Porunga's three wishes and Guru's Potential awakening are probably the least intrusive method of getting power in universe.

Edit: There's also the chemicals that happened too static shock. If a random super power is your thing.

With picture directed travel it would be possible to travel straight into the prison room in the dungeon holding Olivia Servant in 'Ore Dake Haireru' and have her grant you a gamer like status that allows for skill creation and magic.

With this you can go to some empty world devoid of humans like in 'The Last man on Earth (2015)' or 'Last Survivor Valencia (Unico Sobreviviente)' to gain easy jewelry or cash.
From then go to HP to learn their basic magic and you are basically set to go anywhere.
Bonus points if you get the Void powers from a vial in possession of a wounded Inori (Guilty Crown) after you get some basic spells from HP.

Other than jumping to some places presented in CYOA's where they give away powers for free I can't think of a method that's both easier and safer.

I think my first stop would be over to Chronicle, like someone else mentioned earlier. After the empowering event, I'd hop right out to a slice of life or a sitcom world, and practice with my new powers until I'm at a comfortable enough level.

Once that's done, I'd head over to Dragon Ball. I think the powers we see at the end of Chronicle would hold up well against the threat level of early Dragon Ball. Between the powers and meta knowledge I think it would be fairly easy to get a Garlic Jr. style immortality wish.

Between the absolute immortality and the offensive powers of the Chronicle verse, I'd feel comfortable briefly popping into Marvel at the beginning of the Freedom Ring arc. Yoink the reality warping ring, then right back out we go.

At this point I'd start visiting my favorite settings just to have fun. More powers can be acquired at a leisurely rate, but the offensive, defensive and utility aspects are pretty well covered.

I have a soft spot for Hamon/Ripple of Jojo's Bizarre Adventures. The early seasons are technically still in the realm for a mortal person, but I probably wouldn't want to go there first. Still practicing Ripple gives you effective eternal youth. It makes you virtually immune to anything weak to light and disease resistant. You could also utterly ruin the JJBA universe by making sure Dio Dies at the end of part 1.

Convincing Zeppeli to 'teach' it to you would not be easy. Possibly snatch RWBY Aura first and trade for it is a good route. Who knows how an awakened Aura and Hamon/Ripple would mix.

Stands are also somewhat easy to get. Just find a time to be standing in front of the stand arrow getting slung around in Part 4 and your can peace out afterwards. Especially if you make yourself immortal first.

I'm not normally one to take fated things away from a protag, but could probably snatch up a Bio Booster Armor Guyver unit is an solid power armor choice. Especially as sorta a mid realm pick. Given that it is a biomechanical device it should pair well with things like Aura, Ki/Qi and/or Psychic powers. Doesn't come with the same cons as say the Marvel Symbiote. Though there are advantages with the Symbiotes if you can control, or come into a partnership with, them.

Guyver unit is more a personal choice, rather than a real upgrade, but it is a viable snatchable.

i have no idea what Ore Dake Haireru, but the idea to go to "empty" or "dead" world to get some cash is great.
I forgot that powers in guilty crown were vials i thought it was soul based bs that the protag could pull

That is a very solid plan. the only reason that i would avoid dragon ball is that someone appering out of nowhere might get the attention of the big boys (zenoh if he isnt occupied playing with something, the angels, the kais or even Chrona and the Time Patrol)

Originally it was a rock that fell down from space, but local scientists extracted 4 (or more if you count Lost Christmas) samples that could have the same effect as the original shard.
Non of them could set rules for its use, since Mana was the one in control (as she touched the original meteorite), but once you leave the setting you should be the one in full control.

Though even within the Guilty Crown setting you'd still have the ability to summon Void tools from people, and have enhanced physical abilities.

A 'good' place to start might be in Young Justice when the meteor that granted Vandal Savage his immortality hits and partake in it myself.

Another good location would be Pokemon with all its rather insane technology. Might pathetically beg Bill to turn me into a pokemon like he did himself that one time in Red/Blue/Green/Yellow. That or go to a location where a lot of Unown are located together and have them rewrite reality to give me some boons. Might take a Masterball with me to see if I can use it to capture things other than pokemon. Would even go to the remake of the Mewtwo Strikes Back movie and swipe the Mew DNA strand in case it's necessary for the turning me into a pokemon thing.

Another place might be Avatar the Last Airbender/Legend of Korra back in the time of Wan, the first Avatar. Have the Lion Turtles unlock my ability to bend an element or maybe even multiple.

Magic the Gathering is a place I'd go to as well. Go to Dominaria and find the Timeless Lotus and use it as the beginning of my color based magic journey.

There are other means of getting immortality, like the Grand Panacea from Baccano, but I figured that going in to the DB verse when you're still a small fry would likely get overlooked by whatever powers that be.

The main thought is that you don't have machinations in DB universe itself. Making three wishes on Namek may get attention, but if you effectively do nothing with them. It may just avoid the eyes of the bigger powers. At least long enough to GTFO.

Given that you are going in via a picture, that at least means you are going in during a cannon time at least, rather than some offshoot. Depending on the timing, this may be enough to effectively not create a new timeline. Basically, avoiding earth or major locations and important characters for the future could let you slip by.

Wouldn't it be useless to go after the Namek balls since we don't speak Namekian?

I mean it wasn't an issue for anyone during the Freeza saga.

The idea is to not steal the wish, but rather convince the Namekians to let you make the wishes. You really just have to not be an asshole. Namek and new Namek are isolated from the rest of the galaxy and really doesn't shake anything up in the larger universe. Being there before Freeza saga, or more so after, really doesn't change anything in the cannon timeline, especially if you just leave after making your wishes, and/or potentially getting potential awakened by Guru.

You're likely to only get attention after you've made your wishes, not before. Even then getting caught up in the DBZ multiverse is practically only just training till you escape, since they tend to stick to just a smaller local cluster of the multiverse. Bigger issue is if they try to follow.

Edit: Ultimately, it is only one method for immortality and power. As pointed out there are other path's too power. It's still three wishes and a direct power up are on the table if you risk it.
