If you could Jump thru the multiverse what powers would be the easiest to get?

Well, okay, the first question is exactly what is the definition of "fictional world"? Because if it's only fiction published by other people then that's one thing, but if it's fiction I write myself then Imma just daydream up the perfect destination for me and go there because stories I write in my head still count. Also, there's a an actual published fictional precedent for doing this - Roger Zelazny's 'Chronicles of Amber' series, wherein the titular family of multiverse walkers did indeed realize fairly early on 'if I can walk to anywhere I visualize, then that means I can walk into places I imagine'. The only thing that kept them from riding this to omnipotence was the particular fictional rules of their multiverse (notably, many things often didn't work when removed from their native universe and its particular physical and magical laws and the more powerful it was the more finicky it was likely to be), but I don't have that problem!
I think it should be fair to treat it a bit like a Schrodingers cat situation, only that your own observation is not enough to make it valid.
However if you describe it, and the post it/ publish it/ show it to another person, then it becomes its own world.

The technology of Subnautica has its uses. You have access to 3d holographic fabrication printers, you just need to collect materials for it.

Hrm. Having trained up to a low or medium-level d20 monk so I can at least hope to go somewhere else without dying on the spawn point to a random low-level hazard, the question then becomes 'how do I get uncapped growth, stat boosts, magic, and all the other cheat isekai protag stuff?' Because I don't have any of that, and training asides, I'm still a dude with just the initial stats I rolled in life and a few class levels.

Now there's any # of 'system apocalypse' worlds in both webnovel and fanfiction that will give a Gamer system to literally anybody on the planet at the opportune moment, and with our multiversal travel we don't have to stick around for the 'apocalypse' part. The question then becomes 'which of the available Systems would be the best one to get'? Because we want something that doesn't fuck us over, isn't actually tied to a problematic ROB, has a nice easy growth rate, doesn't run into exponential XP requirements higher up the ladder, etc.

The Olivia 'Dungeon Only I Can Enter' suggestion made earlier is a possibility, yes, but I'm trying to avoid interfering with canon plots and/or collecting mandatory power-up waifus.

(add) I suppose what I'm asking is, is there a world where 'I AM ATOMIC' levels of Cid Kagenou training and potential are available just for showing up, as opposed to being uniquely protag-kun or surviving soul-crushing training that most don't or 'you'd have to be born here, it's in the bloodline of the race'?

That isn't just 'I show up in the bar that @TroyX's ArchDeity of Eternity likes to drink at and ask him to hook me up with the good stuff', that is. :p (Even if that is literally the gimmick behind his Supreme Blessings CYOA.)

You can go to That Time I Was Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura) and acquire a Unique Skill. If you wish for it hard enough when you arrive in the world then you will be given a Unique Skill which can do anything if it matches what you desire. So you can easily get a Unique skill that makes learning and mastering magic & martial arts a breeze by having an AI assistant that autopilots everything.

Hrm, that's a possibility.

Anybody know any easily obtainable superintelligence sources that aren't NZT? Because in addition to all the physical side effects there's also that you seem to have all the common sense deficiencies of somebody flying higher than high on cocaine while you're on that shit.

I mean, Poul Anderson's novel "Brain Wave" has 'suddenly IQ 500+' as a global condition... but that's due to a funky physics phenomenon going on in that universe that will turn back off as soon as you leave. And the blue stuff in the 'Lucy' movie is quite powerful... but also very uncertain in effect, and I don't wanna shoot up on anything that isn't a 100% consistently safe experience. And the drug in Ted Chiang's "Understand" is available... but is not only very hard to get in that world (even with multiverse travel to avoid the whole 'hunted by the CIA' problem, you still have to get four doses of a Schedule II controlled substance out of an experimental medical program and that is a set of inventory controls and security problems that a novice multiverse traveller will not find trivial)... even without that factor, there's also the fact that that stuff drove 50% of the known users insane.

Got two from kids shows.

The first is from Yin Yang Yo, the glasses of ultimate smartness. It comes as a prize in cereal and boosts your intelligence but makes you unbearable to be around.

Adventure Time has the Glasses of Nerdicon.

Being a pariah is probably the least harmful of side effects. Though the madness of the second one is influenced entirely by intent, so everything is going according to plan. :V

If anybody mentioned Dave Duncan's Man of His Word series I missed it. It's got one of the more unique magic systems in fantasy and is also very cogent to this thread. Words of power can potentially be a huge and quick power-up.

To gain power, you just need to hear somebody say a word of power. That's it. Hear one word and you become a world-class expert at whatever your best skills are, so you become a master at chess or interior decorating or whatever. Hear two words and you become an adept at every skill. You can pick up a sword for the first time, swing it around randomly for a few minutes, and you'll become a master swordsman in those few minutes.

Three words turn you into a mage. You can start casting spells. With four words, you can make permanent changes, spells that are sustained on their own and keep on going instead of only working as long as you concentrate on them.

More words past that don't add more power but some words are stronger than others and you get the advantage of whatever the four strongest words you've heard are, so adding a few more words may or may not be a boost after the fourth.

Now people in-universe don't exactly freely share their words, they believe that a word becomes weaker the more people know it, and most aren't keen on sharing power anyway. Still at the right moment, it would be hard to beat gaining tremendous magical power from hearing a few words.

Godbound:

An option for characters that have the Peak Human Word is to have their other Words granted by "a unique artefact that cannot be taken away". Go to a (theoretically existing) Shard Of Heaven with an artefact / variant Made God fragment / Creator failsafe variant that fuses with the first person who touches it and grants them Godbound powers (i would go with Peak Human, Artifical Inteligence (which can be a cyborg) and Artifice). Then grab some Celestial Shards and Seeds of Paradise from other (or the same) very isolated and safe Shards of Heaven. Make some artefacts, first one being a expendable item version of the greater gift of Luck which makes one thing possible in your future guaranteed, and then disappears – it is normally balanced by costing permanent gift points and being a one-off effect, but artefact rules use Celestial Shards, not limited character resources. And a seed of Paradise forms a pocket universe in which the user is an archdeity, which gives significant bonuses and ageless immortality. And it gives some free Divine Laws that can be set on the Paradise. It needs Dominion, but it can be quickly gained by sacrificing Shards, which you can get easily by raiding normally inacessable Heavens.

Make artefacts which hide you from divination (custom greater gift, Knowledge), protect from Time effects ( benefit of binding, Time), make mind reading show whatever you want (archpsion)...

The last one is useful for tricking Tests of Heart and similar.

GURPS. Just... GURPS. Greater wishes from the ruins of magical civilisations that blew up by critically failing Greater wish enchantments. ( meaning that some previously made Wishes, which were succesfully made, were not used). Get one point of Cosmic Variable Power. Get 4 Fate Points. Increase your IQ. Get Unusual Background (can train to gain broken ability x)...

There are multiple springs of youth described in a pyramid article on springs of youth.

There are Cosmic Artefacts in Dungeon Fantasy.

Pathfinder:

Grab a "definitely not a Starstone fragment" from FAR AWAY from Golarion (seriously, it should be something similar, but not the Starstone. It blocks dimensional travel around it, generates dangers and might be sentient.).

Gain Mythyc rank 10 immediately (not tier, rank – you dont need to do legendary things to raise it, as it can be immediately gained at 10). Use some of your 11-12 Mythyc powers for Beyond morality and three purchases of Divine Source. Take magic domain and divine subdomain as some of your new domains. You now have a 1/day spell-like Miracle. Give yourself an extra 1 permanent divine bonus to intelligence as Divine Intervention, and then over the next few days use it to give yourself the potential to learn divine, arcane and psionic (and primal) magic (as per the " (only) divine intervention can heal permanent loss of ability to cast spells"). You are now a Qasideity and can cast in Antimagic and Dead magic zones (like the entire rest of the multiverse).

Also, get some artefacts that are not in dangerous places. And some tomes and wishes for a plus 5 inherent bonus to all abilities. ( mythyc 10 grants at least 10 points to your stats, too.)

Anima Beyond Fantasy:

Put on your Headband Of Tricking Mind Readers (Godbound). Put on your cloak ( or whatever the shape of it is) and amulet (same) from the Godbound Useful Artefact list higher up too.

Set your detectable thoughts to nothing (NOT Void or Emptiness or something like that. Just block all detection.)

Stop time (pathfinder). Maybe even Argumented Mythyc Time Stop, but you can just use an artefact staff with the spell. ( Mythyc Surge helps with the check; and so do other abilities).

Planeswalk. Grab the Key Of Yigradsrill. Immediately planeswalk away.

With your Headband, the Key will not automatically act on any stray thought you have. In fact, you can control it perfectly by only allowing it to detect carefully controlled and designed thoughts that you wrote on your fake mind.

Enjoy the ability to create anything in Anima with Gnosis 30 or below and Presence 420 or below or level 15 or below. This includes carefully designed creatures with basically whatever Anima power you want, like instinctively casting Learning at arcane level on you.

You should note that in areas with no ambient Zeon, spells cost 10 zeon more, maintaining them costs twice as much, and zeon regeneration is halved.

You should also note that you can create full Zeon batteries with a capacity of 10000 zeon.

Yes, you can use it to create magic items. In fact, as a willing sacrifice of a gnosis 30 being produces the highest quality possible reagents in the game, you can directly create items made from the best possible ingredients, and with up to 420 points in powers.

Lorewise, a wizard in one story tried to gain Divinity by transforming the corpse of a minor god into a enchanted fluid, which then made a gnosis 20 enemy into a demigod. His demigod ability specifically says he counts as having a Gnosis of 30 for some cases. You dont have a 20 in gnosis (probably), but you can make it prepared specifically for you (as the wizard intended) and count as a willing sacrifice, by just not imagining any grudges and imagining desire to empower. Then you can use the bonus points for high Gnosis to buy Psionic or Spellcasting potential.

Dnd 3.5 has rebuilding rules. Go to a isolated, deity-less, uninhibited Sphere. Drink from a spring that is supposed to one day be guarded by elves. Give yourself a la 0 template. Paragon, specifically.

Okay, that might be too cheesy. But deities and demigods describe a idea for a setting in which divine ranks can be found as items, leftovers from the creation of the world. Just be careful.

Cradle:

Exposure to Madra makes someone capable of using Madra. Madra is a bridge to Soulfire, which is a bridge to Will. The writer sets up Vaults in his settings filled with everything needed to train "in case of isekai". That is a joke, but is also wog, and makes sense as something that would exist in every setting. Good enough sources of Aura function off-world.

Just be very, very careful and very, very stealthy.

If you think you can handle it, Hunger bindings can be useful too.

Gurren Lagann

Spiral power. Yes, you can gain it, even if it is not already in your genetics. Worst case, drain it from a piece of grass with a Hunger Binding and now you have some.

Do the powers work on different universes? I mean some might work in one setting and others would stop because of metaphysics issue.

If they work everywhere, go to konosuba, register and get a class card, pick mage class and leave the world.

Go to 'S-rank drop rate', kill the animals in low level dungeons, get level ups on the class card.
Once you are sufficient level, go to konosuba for even more levels and earn some gold.

Go to rwby, get aura. Now you're a superhuman mage.

After this, you can travel around, maybe go to Roshar and pick up some shard blades or form a contract. Go to Nalthis and get some biochromatic breath for making golems.

Go to dnd and become a wizard or monk.

Go to danmachi and get a falna from Hestia? She's desperate enough to take anyone before bell.

I didn't want to get too deep into the soul/life force discussion, so you could always go to a setting with ki and learn to use it, because you're alive. And you could always go to a cultivation setting to become immortal.

Honestly, we are unsure of this even now. We can pretty much agree that humans in fictional worlds are not the same breed of humanity as us even if we do look the same. So we were ruling out a lot of setting exclusive powers unless otherwise shown in media that they could be acquired by outsiders.

It is also questionable if anything soul-related would even affect us at all or positively. So we had issues finding ways to acquire magic early on and were mostly limited to tech-based acquisitions.

Then that leaves out most of the stuff I know about and wrote in my above post.

I'm not familiar with sci fi, so how about going to Lancer and getting some tech there? It's nearly utopian so you could find some stuff to use there.

You can still try. Especially when you have help from allies in the local setting known for bending the rules over their knees to modify the system to work for you. You can probably make a deal with them for you to bring them interesting stuff in exchange for power.

Lancer basically is the far future of our world so any scientific tech should work unless it is Horus stuff. You never know what could happen when it comes to using reality-warping tech outside their local setting.

Even the doujin stuff is not that safe now. Most futa stuff is out because we don't have porn physics. There was a cute caption series where the world is post scarcity (sort of) but we don't have the evolutionary changes men have.

Femboy autocracy results in you either getting experimented on or being like a zoo animal.

Most other series' are just normal earth, well, except chastity reversal world by Amahara. But it'd take time getting used to.

Not like porn physics is even going to be relevant when we don't have porn biology? Can't shoot gallons of semen every time you cum? You bring dishonor to your ancestors!

I mean the obscene dick lengths and the ability of the women to go on and on and other stuff we take for granted in hentai. Plus I'm not attractive enough to don't worry about NTR and shit. And I don't want to deal with that crap.

Question. Isn't GURPS just an rpg system where you can make up your own world for a campaign?

My obvious first stop in such a trip would be Hercules/Xena, acquiring Ambrosia to make myself a god. Hard to acquire under normal circumstances, but easy if you can just hop in during a scene where it's shown. The local gods are very strong, very hard to kill, can teleport, and shoot energy blasts. Solid starting power set for traversing the multiverse.

After that, the only reason to bother collecting more power would be if I wanted to go to some particularly dangerous place, and for those, I'd be basically planning that specific trip and any power ups I'd need to pick up before going.
