Not really. My mum's a professional photographer who frequents a photography forum, and she's hardly a creeper. Hell, movie stars have their own private members-only, invitation-only forum, though I forget its name.

My general experience has been that the vast majority of people do not frequent forums of any sort. Forums for technical fields are the exception, and even then, their userbase is limited to those people who care strongly about that specific field. And even if celebrities do, in fact, have their own invite-only forums, how many people do you think actually have access to said forums? (And how many of the devoted fans of celebrities, are, in fact "creepers"?)

Furthermore, the vast majority of people who use IRC are people who work/use Linux - go on any IRC network and pull a channel list, and I guarantee you that the channels with the most users will be ones devoted to programming languages, Linux distros, or similar subjects.

Once you're registered, it still requires an OP to give you voice. It's not automatic.

So, if I was away or whatever, you can register and it still won't do anything. It would defeat the purpose of muting the channel if anyone could get around it by themselves.

In the future, message me here if you need to be voiced.
