• An addendum to Rule 3 regarding fan-translated works of things such as Web Novels has been made. Please see here for details.
  • We've issued a clarification on our policy on AI-generated work.
  • Our mod selection process has completed. Please welcome our new moderators.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

Is anti LGBTQ+ allowed here? Rule 9 violation

Simple use the ignore button. Hate against a certain group will allways exist no amount of rules will change that. Jordinio has his rights to write Story the way he wants he is not harming anyone irl or insult a Member on this page.

No it's not. The thread was made by someone salty the person they argued with wasn't punished enough. It's that simple.

It's just using the 'Rule 9' thing as set dressing for it because they were threadbanned in the original thread. And people are leaping on it because it's a way for them to try and vaguely get around Rule 8.
The fact that what appears to be a burner account was allowed to openly shop for a sympathetic mod after not getting the punishment they wanted and it worked is concerning. Is this the new meta of the site?

Locking this thread was the right decision, unlocking it was fucking stupid.

This kind of stuff is always used to push one particular political agenda and silence another, we've seen it on SB and pretty much every other mainstream site. Because the subject in question IS a political issue, for and against, and anybody who says otherwise is just trying to silence dissent. One side being able to be as pro that political opinion as they want but anytime somebody is against it or disagrees with them getting banned for politics is not unbiased, it is taking a side and silencing the other. Either you have to let both sides say what they want and just dissuade the political arguments themselves or you have to stop both sides.

The "I don't feels safe" argument is just trying to exercise editorial control over people you don't like, if you don't feel safe here then fucking leave. I don't feel safe on SB, they objectively discriminate in my opinion so guess what? I fucking left. I don't think I have commented on that site in years. Allowing this thread isn't neutral, it is taking a side, I hope the mods see sense and lock it again.

I am disappointed in the thread OP and I DO want them to leave. I do not welcome this type of attitude.

calm down bro
i get your opinion but your "I DO want them to leave" might spark a fight
imo you can stoke the fire; dont start it
they objectively discriminate in my opinion so guess what? I fucking left
Damn, that's a big decision you made there, imo.
i feel that "discriminate" is a big stretch, maybe because I still haven't gotten hit by that bullet

Isn't that not allowed?
i got a mod on my ass because this is the second account I made because the first one didnt get the verification email

i for one cant decide if i take the side of locking the thread or not though
If this thread is forgotten i think is the best result

though you guys can trust this rule

Rule 14: Do not argue with trolls — it means they win.

I have.

And, well, really there are three options once it becomes clear the mods think your opinions to be inherently punishable:

1. Ignore the mods sneering at you, get permabanned.
2. Muzzle yourself on politics, keep posting otherwise. Congratulations, you're giving ad dollars (directly, and indirectly via people reading your content) to people who despise you and everything you stand for.
3. Leave.

There is in theory a #4 of "beat the mods at their own game", where you try to sneak shit past, but let's be realistic here, that's not going to work.

#3 generally dominates #1 because you still have the account if there's some major need in the future. #2 is letting yourself be exploited. So, not a very hard decision for me.

Thank you for providing a really clear and excellent example of *why* the QQ mods even had to put in a Rule 1, and why they had to make clear in the text of Rule 9 that using slurs against other users is against the rules.

Let's just simplify all your waffling about 'um actually SB banning me for being a troll is oppression in an exactly equivalent way to me and my buddies getting to attack gay people'.

"There's an agenda here! All *those people* are allowed to say 'I don't want people attacking me', but we're not allowed to say 'it's totally based to attack you and you should be attacked more'! This is mod bias! Whether gay people should be allowed to just go about their lives peacefully like everyone else, or whether they should be beaten and murdered, is a political question! Because my side very directly *made* it into a political question. But now that it's political, I should be allowed to just say as many slurs as I want and if people don't like it, they should leave. I should be allowed to drive out chunks of the userbase by being a hateful little troll and no-one should punish me for it because it's my free speech right to say whatever I like with no consequences, and other people saying 'hey you're an asshole, fuck off' is *not* free speech."

I figured it wasn't the best idea to unlock this thread when I posted. I had acknowledged such to other staff when I did it.

But I had wanted to give a chance for further replies and just maybe some civil discussion.

However, as things are getting heated in here, it's time to take a step back and close thus thread again.
