[RPG] KH: Hard Day's Knight 1.2

Roxanne didn't seem too winded as she joined them but her mouth was still set in a grim line her eyes scanning for threats.

"I'm not sure we're done yet."

Gosalyn had her eyes narrowed scanning the treeline around them not moving from her position yet. Henry felt his fur fluff slightly under the feeling of dread and he re-hefted his spear, not quite as tired as the twin but the lingering sense of dread hanging in the air around them kept him alert.

"Something's here... but I can't hear anything..." the Bunny added.

Not one of the Knights eyes lingered on a looming triangular shadow with a top hat, instead sliding right past it as they edged around the twins to cover them.

It was the single lingering thread of darkness... Something evil and malevolent... That made the Twins freeze. The shadow... They stared at it. Mabel's eyes widened. Dipper's narrowed.

Far away... Konstantin felt something. Like the endless darkness he had been drifting through. Something deep and dark and ancient...

"It can't be," Dipper mumbled. Mabel immediately lashed out, striking down at the shadow viciously.

"DIE BILL-!" Her keyblade struck the ground, blasting a massive pillar of dirt and dust high into the air and making the Earth shake!

As one the Knights and turned and blasted that spot!

Roxanne flung flame, after three or four rapid arrows Gosalyn plunged into it first, and shortly followed by shots from Henry's caster pistol.

Roxanne flung flame, after three or four rapid arrows Gosalyn plunged into it first, and shortly followed by shots from Henry's caster pistol.

The numerous blasts caused more and more dust and smoke to rise into the sky. High enough it was visible from Paul's truck.

It took a second for Dipper to put things together. He then shouted as loudly as he could.

"WAIIIIT! STOP! CEASE FIRE!" He bellowed, waving his Keyblade and trying to get in the middle of the blasts. He was able to deflect a few of the shots... Before a caster bolt hit him and knocked him off his feet.

Mabel immediately stopped trying to murder the ground, and screamed. "DIPPER!" She was by his side in an instant. "DIPPER! DIPPER, WHAT IS IT?!"

Dipper groaned. "There's... Nothing there..." He managed. They all looked, and yes, there was just a gigantic crater in the middle of the dirt road. Mabel gaped.

"But... But you saw it!"

Dipper nodded. "I saw it... But it... It couldn't have been anything... And besides... It's gone now."

Henry had bolted to the car and returned with the medical kit in a horrified trance of having shot his charge! Before Roxanne had already cast cure by the time he got there.

The bunny's ears were down and he was looking away from the two, the larger than he was medical kit clunking to the ground.

"I... sorry Dipper."

"Henry."

About the one bonus was that Roxanne wasn't scowling at him at least.

"You'll both be working with me on inter melee firing," Gosalyn cut in, a scowl on her face, "and Dipper, you did not need to run into that to stop us!"

Roxanne shifted and nodded her eyes scanning the trees again for a potential glimpse of whatever that had been.
"A bit, harsher than I'd have put it... but fair points."

He grimaced, turning to Paul.

"... Something Dark stirs... I fear it bodes ill."
"That, is very much not a good thing to hear." Paul said clicking his tongue at that. "Well, nothing much to do in preparation beyond what we have. You have any idea of where that feeling is coming from? Or anything you might be feeling up to sharing other than a strong dark feeling Konstantin?"

Dipper winced. "Sorry," he said. "I just... I had to stop it... It felt so..." Why had he?

Mabel punched his side. "Stupid Brobro! What were you thinking?! Trying to stop a fight by running into the middle?"

Dipper sulked a bit. "I only got hit once..."

Mabel rolled her eyes. "Well... At least this is easy to fix, right? Roxanne, please?" She looked at Roxanne imploringly.

Unnoticed by anyone, Mabel's shadow briefly took a triangular shape... With one eye, and a top hat. It then shifted back to normal. Dipper blinked... But said nothing. It couldn't have been anything, could it?

Still. His Keyblade remained active, as did Mabel's.

"..." He was quiet for a moment, thinking. "It's... Gone now, but it was too strong to pass off as some trick."

He put a hand up, slowly pointing to the horizon, unbeknownst to him, in the direction where two twins and their teachers were.

"That way. We must go that way."

"Isn't a problem." The caster said smiling slightly and she cast another cure spell.

"For the moment, it might be prudent to call in, the Heartless may have simply abandoned the attack on the town once you got close enough."

Roxanne flipped open the gummiphone to make some texts.

"Right, let's go then." Paul said with a nod to the driver, who just nodded back with a smaller smile...and a turn that put the car about forty five degrees with the ground for a bit.

Pulling out his phone, he sent a text to the cadets and the keyblade wielders to let them know what Konstantin felt and that they were heading towards where he felt it.

Flare sauntered down until his feet were on the earth. He took in deep breaths as he surveyed the area around him. The dark creatures were gone, but there was still yet a lingering darkness in the area. The pixies had started gathering back around him as well, save for a few that had started going towards the group of people nearby. Following their metaphorical footsteps, he walked over to the squad and looked around at them, taking in the different species and weaponry held amongst them.

"Can anyone explain to me what in Avalon's verdant arbor just occurred here? When did pure darkness start taking shape and attacking things?" His eyes then went towards two similar-looking humans (relatives) with a set of odd weapons that seemed to...shimmer, in the magical sense, in a way he'd never seen before. "And what's with these two?"

As he asked his questions, a few of the pixies started floating around the pair, a couple coming up near the girl's face to get a closer look, and Peanut fluttering near the boy's ear.

Mabel gasped loudly. "FAIRY!" She squealed. She immediately slid in front of Flare with large, inquisitive eyes. "Take me to Neverland!"

Dipper reacted a bit more sedately, pulling out his Journal and flipping through it for the right entry. "Aha... Highborn Fairy! With several subordinates, am I right?" He smiled at Flare.

Henry at the least had an ear perk towards Roxanne to gauge her reaction, the Bunny was unsure about having fae around, especially this many, this close.

"It's something we're still investigating I'm afraid."
His team lead seemed pretty calm though, letting their charges mostly take the lead as she texted back on the Gummiphone, letting Paul know they'd just fended off a moderate Heartless attack, Mabel potentially had seen something then it had vanished, they should link up asap.

Even if Gosalyn was still slightly peeved to table the previous discussion, an arrow idly twirling between her digits.

"And these two, are the keybearers. so watch it." The Duck girl growled quietly.

Flare blinked in surprise at that reaction, then he snapped his fingers in memory at the name.

"Ah, that one! Well, I can't actually take you there. One of the pixies from there need to lend you their dust, unless you have alternatives."

Dipper reacted a bit more sedately, pulling out his Journal and flipping through it for the right entry. "Aha... Highborn Fairy! With several subordinates, am I right?" He smiled at Flare.

"Yes, I'm a Highborn. Thank you for recognizing that," he answered with a proud smile. "The subordinates are a rather new addition, though, from the local forest. I reckon you're all going to keep following me?" he asked them, to which most answered positively. "Well, no helping it then. Just need to figure out what kind of oak and which sort of flowers to use to make the mobile pixie house. That one couple already seems to be setting up on that woman's head."

"I suppose the term 'key bearers' means something significant, then."

"Uh, yeah, we're kind of a big deal," Mabel said, posing dramatically. Dipper rolled his eyes.

"Guys? Focus. There's something much bigger at stake here," Roxanne interjected. The twins looked over at her, as she was typing on her Gummiphone. She looked quite grim.

"What is it?" Dipper asked.

"We think we know who brought the Heartless here," she stated. "Paul is bringing him to the Shack. And Ford is going to want to look at him."

"Him?" Mabel and Dipper echoed.

"Him." Roxanne affirms, "We should get ourselves back into the car and get to somewhere we can meet up with them back at the shack."

Gosalyn eyed their Bunny, "At a more sedate pace, right?"

Roxanne nodded, "Yes that's right."

The entire group slowly, a piece at a time, assembled at the Mystery Shack: An aged, ramshackle tourist trap in the middle of the woods. It spoke of cheapness and of mystery, but there was something... Deeper to it. Something all the magically inclined could sense, deep within.

"Well, nice to finally get here to try and deal with these new surprises." Paul muttered to himself as the car drove up to the Mystery Shack.

As always when Roxanne approached the Shack, she eyed it quietly for a long moment as if to familiarize herself with the permeating feeling.

In the meantime the group piled out of the car that had gotten there in a much more sedate and sane pace, Henry pocketing the keys.

Flare let go of the part of the roof he had been hanging onto and floated around the where the others were coming out of the car. This place they had been talking about held some strange magic, but at this point, that was almost expected. Almost being a keyword there. When he really focused on it, the ambient magic seemed to go deeper than he originally expected. He had to draw himself back to keep from being pulled into looking further, and refocused on the other people.

"Okay, so we're here," he stated as the majority of the pixies began flying near him, most having gone inside the car for the ride. "What exactly is here that we need?"

Getting out of the car himself, Konstantin took a long, slow look around, before the seven foot tall Cleric began making his way towards it. He was almost... Drawn to it. This old place held a powerful, strange magic. One that called for him to investigate further.

He took two steps forward, then three more before he stopped himself, frowning.

"...Hm."

Then, he turned his head, and stared a certain anthropomorphic lapine dead in the eyes as he took notice of another group's arrival, his own gaze shrouded by his hood.

Dipper and Mabel stood out, their Keyblades shining in the morning light. Dipper narrowed his eyes. Mabel followed suit.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"Hi Paul!" Mabel said cheerfully, waving.

Henry's ears twitched behind him as if to check that the hooded human was looking at him specifically like the fur on the back of his neck seemed to think.

Both he and Gosalyn had closed ranks around their charges, close enough to jump in the way of something if they needed to, Henry minding Mabel, and Gos was nearby Dipper.

Roxanne stood nearby, both hands on her staff, not obviously casting and looking a bit more relaxed than her cadets, but then they couldn't use magic to throw up a wall if they needed to, the dog woman gives Paul a nod and a slight smile but most of her attention is on Konstantin, and potentially keeping pixies out of her hair if they got inquisitive.

"Hi Paul!" Mabel said cheerfully, waving.

He turned to fully face the young man, looking down on him, though it was literal and not metaphorical, considering how tall he was.

"I am Konstantin, Cleric Errant of the Order of the Flame. Who, boy, are you?"

"Hey Mabel." Paul said, waving back, even if a bit less enthusiastically in comparison to her. "So did you guys have to deal with some less than pleasantness today too?" He continued, trying to see if it was just the group he was with or if the Pine twins had something end up happening to them too.

"snerk He called you 'boy'," Mabel snickered. Dipper manfully avoided rolling his eyes.

"I'm Dipper Pines. This is my sister Mabel. That's Roxanne, Mage of the Disney Castle, with Gosalyn Mallard, and Henry Hopps. And we're Keyblade Wielders." He pointed it at the gigantic paladin. "And we have a few questions about the unpleasantness."

"Oh! We got attacked by Heartless!" Mabel said cheerfully.

"And we need to know how they got here. That should be impossible," Dipper said. He looked over at Roxanne. "Shouldn't it?"

"Oh, so did we. Happened right around when we reached the barrier while trying to figure out what was up with Konstantin." Paul said, gesturing to the wayward knight. "Pretty much moments after he touched it, I think maybe an hour at most after he just appeared here, some heartless were let loose...not something that seemed all too possible to me." He explained what some of went on with his group before getting here. "Thankfully I was able to use a blast of light magic to hit everything nearby to cut the combat short...probably wont be able to fire off something like that again for the rest of the day."

"Very much impossible," Roxanne nods in agreement, "It's one of the strongest, largest shields against Heartless I've ever seen."

The womans mouth thinned, "Finding out how they got in? More than likely that will be vital to keeping New Camelot around."

Dipper opened his mouth, but he was cut off by an older man.

"Then we're going to need to examine you, Mister Konstantin," said the graying older man, with six fingers. He was grim as he walked up to the giant of a man. "I'm Stanford Pines. I need to know everything you can tell me, right now, or this entire world might be doomed."

"He never sugarcoats anything," Mabel murmured to her brother, who elbowed her. "Ow!"

"He's not wrong though." Roxanne conceded, furrowing her brow as she looked the Paladin over for a moment.
