So, there is underrated story that I like in webnovel, a lot of 50k word count story with 1M + views, yet this story about 1mil word count yet barely got 3M views. I somehow got in touch with the author and talking about publishing in another platform, but with how busy they are and preparing another danmachi story, I obtained their permission to post it here. 4th: Ideal fluid manipulation. (In my understanding she manipulates ideal fluids, in this case air currents. With no viscosity and friction. Meaning her wind could move with 0 energy loss. So she is able to make continental wide mega typhoons and her wind packs much more punch.)

5th: Molecular deceleration. Can reach absolute zero. (Making chemistry impossible, you turn to goop.)

(I'll update this whenever new herrschers appear. Just so other people can understand just what their powers are. They don't control elements or anything. They control a concept, that's why if they are allowed to understand it. It is literal hax in a universe like honkai, that follows physics to a certain point.)

Chapter 1: Prologue

It was just a regular day on earth. Meaning, nothing interesting is going on. Blue collar workers going to their 9-5 mondays, rushing to jobs that they will probably be on for 40-50 years until retirement.

People going to parks walking their pets or letting their children play. You know? The usual mundane phenomena of the world.

Here we see a man coming home from a 40 hour shift from the hospital. absolutely wrecked, haggard, and looking like he could keel over at any time.

"ugh, fucking hospital. Why won't they hire more doctors and nurses, this shit will kill me one day if I am the only one on call during the weekends". He grumbled.

"At least I'm at the comfort of my home now. Time for my favorite past time. Novels and anime, once I wake up after a nap of course". He says while entering his apartment.

Hanging his keys and ID from work, he then stumbles to his bed and starts to have a blissful sleep. But due to his sleep deprived mind, leaving him lightheaded. He didn't even notice the numbing of his left arm, and being slightly out of breath.

On his ID, we can see a man on his late 20's. with thick shapely eyebrows, straight edged nose, and a sharp jawline. But, what stands out is his deep almond shaped emerald green eyes that have made ladies aplenty, swoon.

Wolfgang Schneider, is a person that you would call a savant. He likes to think a lot, and without stimulus that keeps his brain busy, he gets bored like a husband waiting for his wife to finish shopping. Meaning, bored as hell.

Graduated in college completely average, because, he doesn't really put in effort in things that will not interest him. Sure he still did anything to pass decently and medicine was kinda interesting. But, he still only cared to pass.

An apathetic guy with no purpose. Just like many humans in the world, what he is pretty interested in though are games and Japanese entertainment. mainly anime and novels.

And as he lost consciousness due to exhaustion and stress. His breathing became pretty labored, burning pain on the chest that slowly but surely worsened as time went on.

After 30 minutes he woke up due to the searing pain, drenched in sweat and feeling nauseous. "wha, the fuck is happening to me? Chest pain, shortness of breath, nausea. Am I having a heart attack?"

Quickly, he stood up and reached for his phone calling 911 for an ambulance. but, at his panic and restlessness it surely worsened as he started to lose consciousness and collapsed on the floor.

Chapter 2: Endless Expanse

In a white space, without anything but our protagonist, he lays there unmoving. He slowly opens his eyes and he has no recollection of when he got there.

"Ugh, where the hell am I? Is this the hospital? Then, the EMS guys must have reached me in time. but, I don't particularly feel bad."

"Wait, why is there literally nothing here." He tried to look around, noticing he wasn't on a hospital bed and there's nothing but endless white space as far as the eye can see.

"Hmmm. Did I really die? Damn, I haven't even finished kimetsu's entertainment district arc. They were pretty banged up and Uzui even lost his arm. but now I won't even know what will happen next."

As he was talking to himself, a blurry silhouette came in front of him, startling the poor guy. "Wolfgang Schneider, you have understood that your life is now forfeit, pretty impressive rationality and calmness I see." It suddenly said with a gender neutral voice.

"Well, don't these things happen pretty much every time on those isekai novels and such? It's basically a cliche, pretty new one, nevertheless predictable. Besides, there was nothing really there for me in the world except my hobbies. which, makes me detached to life in general." he shrugs.

"I understand. then you probably already know how this will go down, do you not?"

"Yes, do you have a name sir/ma'am? I just want to call you something besides god or something along those lines. And do I go to heaven or hell?"

"Hmm, so be it, you can call me Genesis, young man. pretty refreshing if I must say besides being called god or ROB hahaha. And for your other query, yes and no. You see, you are a soul with no attachment to life, but still with immense will and thirst for knowledge. For interesting things of course."

"So how about I reincarnate you to a fictional world? But with only one wish. You have yearned for years to have an interesting life. I think you'd enjoy that, no?" Genesis said.

Wolfgang pondered for a bit, then said "Of course I would love to be in one, but just a question though. Why only one wish? And do I get to pick which world I would be in?"

"Good question my boy. It actually stems from your karma, as you humans say, no good or bad deed goes unpunished. Being a doctor naturally led to you saving a few hundred lives in your short career. And you didn't really do a bad job at it either, at least really trying to save people and sticking to your oath."

"I see, well I don't really half ass things when I do them, and I may be quite uncaring but when live are on the line, I might as well do my part decently of course."

Genesis laughed "A good mindset boy. Now, you can still relax in heaven and be on your way now. Reincarnation can be hard for you, especially because you are just a regular human. Going to a fictional world might not be for you."

"You have a point, especially on those crazy ass worlds like warhammer or something. But I would still like to reincarnate please, nothing ventured, nothing gained."

The god pondered a few seconds at his words "Alright, because you were so calm and not annoying unlike others. I will give you a pass, I quite like people that are the 3 c's just like that guy Itachi that you like."

Chuckling at Genesis' words Wolfgang said "Well, I am quite lucky now aren't I. now letta rip Genesis. I want to know what the world is and then go on from there. Well, can I?"

"Yes I will let this roulette spin 1st, then we can choose your wish." Then the silhouette snapped its fingers and a circle roulette appeared. A moment later it spun quickly, making Wolfgang quite anxious as he cannot see the worlds for there are too many.

The roulette started to slow down and then it stopped at a picture of a girl with white hair and blue eyes. Wolfgang not knowing who that is or what the girl entails of the world just waits for the god to explain.

Genesis whistles as the roulette stops. "You will be sent to the world of honkai Wolfgang, congratulations." Wolfgang tilts his head as he doesn't know what fictional world that is.

"Uh, sorry but I don't really know that world. Can you please explain?" Wolfgang asked hoping to get more information.

The god laughed as he said "Now, now, That wouldn't be entertaining now would it? Besides, when you arrive at that world you will know a lot after a couple of years at most."

Wolfgang just silently contemplates and thought, 'I did ask to have worlds that aren't that dangerous. At least I would still have a wish, I better make this count then.'

"Alright, it seems you won't be giving me much information then." He sighs

Genesis: "Well I will give you an advise, make a wish to make your body be more pliable and have linear growth. After all, exponential growths in strength or abilities would have bad side effects, you might just explode hahahaha."

Wolfgang sweated at the god's words "Thanks for the advise. I've made a choice, can I be an infinitely adaptable being? Body, mind, soul and the like? After all it would cover everything but be at least hard to power up and be within the limits of the world for a very long time, until I become the apex that is."

"Hoho, a wise choice indeed. You are starting from the bottom up huh? Some reincarnators who chose that path like you became god like beings, even though a lot failed. When they succeeded, it was truly a spectacle. Alright I would send you on your way now then." The being snapped its fingers once again, then a crack in space opened and it ushered him to go inside.

Pointing at the portal "Go on now my boy, you will not feel it at 1st of course. And I have made you a simple status screen to quantify your progress, you are after all a man of science albeit a doctor. An inventory as well for a good luck charm, I will be watching you with great interest." Genesis said with what looks like a smile on its opaque appearance.

"Thank you for this opportunity, I will try not to disappoint." As Wolfgang walked to the portal with anxious steps, but with resolve and excitement.

(Now we will go to the honkai verse). I decided to make a simple system. sorry to disappoint but it only quantifies his stats and skills. I would be hard pressed to make a system that would be like the one at solo leveling or the like because our protag's wish simply won't mash well with that imo.

an Inventory won't be groundbreaking as well, I will only use it mostly for simple items like weapons and stim packs (for healing or something like that). The other things it would be just for the future I guess te he.

I would be filling some of the story that is unidentified because, honestly honkai's world is quite the doozy and there are a lot that we don't know. so please help me if there are inconsistencies I have overlooked and please give some comments on what maybe could have been more believable. After all I am quite passionate about this game, so this is kind of my Love letter for it. And I want it to be the best. ciao

Chapter 3: Rebirth

Darkness, now that is all the our protagonist can see. Or otherwise cannot see. Feeling sluggish and confused. After all even though he is now about to be born any minute now, he is still a baby.

"Ugh, I was just at a white room, now I'm in a womb. that was quite the doozy damn. Now, because I'm an infant my mental faculties must be quite amazing no? But I feel like my lucidity is going down real quick. Well I will sleep and wait for my birth 1st, my situation and development can wait, g'night."

Wolfgang wakes up once or twice a day, having enough time to contemplate the world he is in and how he is going to explore this new macrocosm. Though the time spent awake is usually just a couple of minutes before he tires.

He did notice that he is staying awake longer after he made a little experiment if his wish does work, after all he cannot test a lot while in the womb. Every day he can slowly increase the time being lucid, 5-10 seconds at the most. He doesn't know if it is due to effort or just thinking and being awake passively increases it. Concluding this experiment he will continue it after being born. He can feel that he will be born soon.

After a week of being bored out of his mind, not really analyzing heavily. Because he always feel sluggish, (totally not because he is lazy). He felt the walls around him contract, like those damned walls in those archeology movies he scoffed.

Then came the pain " Damn, I never thought the pain would be this immense. my head is being squeezed and my shoulders are folding to make my body smaller.

As he heard a woman have muffled screams for the last time, he finally saw blurry lights in this new world for the 1st time. It was magical really, no matter how blurry his sight is. Basically being legally blind at this time, rebirth is such a surreal experience for him. Then he cried, breathing greedily for his 1st breath of air.

Then he heard a woman speak, "It's a healthy baby boy." So they speak english here, what a relief. I at least have a head start, I wish the alphabet is the same.

Breaking his thoughts, a woman with a weak voice spoke. "Can I see him please, my darling baby boy." He concluded that the woman who spoke is his mother in this life.

He then thought that his mother might be a good mother, after all, she spoke with affection and her wanting to form a bond immediately with her son is a good sign of a strong maternal bond with the child.

Back in his previous life, he didn't know his father and his mother got pregnant at 14, giving birth at 15. Ultimately making him a child who was raised by their grandparents. So he did not know the love a mother can give. His mother lived as a teen even after giving birth to him after all. And even grandparents can be a child's parental figures. It surely will pop questions in a child's mind.

Speaking of parents, his mother now has golden blonde hair and deep green eyes. A beautiful woman with a small face and buxom figure. She is also relatively tall with a height of 5'9. Suiting her voluptuous body.

She was now currently holding him gently like she is holding the most precious gem in the world that can break with a soft touch. Looking at him with an affectionate gaze that promises love.

"Hmm, he's big and looking healthy and strong. I believe he is destined for greatness, how about we name him einheri? Based on the einherjar of Valhalla? After all we have norse based names as well Eric."

The man chuckles "That we do, Frey. I love the name by the way, an army of one. But, he will not be alone, after all, we will be there for him until he becomes great."

Frey smiles widely "Yeah, he will be our little bundle of joy until then." She chuckles. Wolfgang now named Einheri, thought that his new name is a good one. Because he will make that name a reality. As his consciousness fades away due to exhaustion of being born a 2nd time.

What's up guys. Did you like the name? Einherjar is the multiple form and Einheri is the singular.

At the next chappy I'll probably start on the world building. This will probably epic in length. I don't know how long but if I make 500 to 1k words a chapter then it will probably reach atleast 150k words? or 200k likely more. after all, Honkai is a very complicated world and I think you guys would like the things I have in store for you kekeke.

Chapter 4: Being a Baby Sucks Ass

After a few hours of being monitored by the hospital, we were probably discharged as I can feel that we are travelling due to the vibrations.

In my 1st hours of new life, I had to now feed on my mother's breast, again. while those reincarnation novels focused a lot on their mom's breast and creepy stuff like that. As a newborn you can't really do that, 1st of all, you're basically goddamned blind. 2nd, you would have an instinctual reflex to suck and feed, you're running on fumes at this point. I'm exhausted as hell, sure as hell I'll drink a lot or I'll die just in the 1st day.

Now, we're at home because my mother is just cradling me on what I would assume, is a crib. For my next set of plans, considering that even as a baby still unborn, I've already felt that I can adapt I will start early. I currently have no information about this world, there might be damned dangerous animals here for all I know that can terrorize cities, just like danger beasts in Akame's world.

For the information that I do have, this world is just like my old world. With modern cities and tech, why? Because we rode in a car, babies' sense of smell are their strongest sense before they develop others. The smell is unmistakable, the smell of exhaust and the humming of an engine. So that's basically crossed out, thank Genesis though. Living in the middle ages is crazy inconvenient and dangerous that's a thing novels overlook, a lot.

Now for my status board. (I'd call it that because it is a system with certain functions, but that's the only function it has lol). It's quantitatively numbered for better understanding of my received skills, even though I only developed 2 though.

STR= how hard you hit

END= how hard you can get hit

INT= how much your brain can store, analyze, and sort information. How fast too, so read lots k? Also, this is connected to your will and resistance to let's say illusions (fenghuang down op)

STA: how long you can keep hitting

DEX: how much you can't get hit, chant the mantra I am speed for extra evasion hahaha. Includes reflexes and how dextrous your body parts are, so increase this to have the god hand k?

Average humans also have stats ranging in 10 but not more than 20, those already belong to people like athletes or with specialized professions just like you which is a doctor, that needs a lot of information and knowledge in their heads.

About your skills, you cannot make skills that does not affect your body. For example observe, the staple of systems cannot be learned no matter how much you scrutinize anything on sight. You'd receive another one though like hawk eyes or something like that, your system cannot give you skills, you, will give yourself skills.

Next is your infinite adaptability. This one's a bit tricky, as a being of infinite adaptability, of course you should have no ceiling no? There kinda is, you'd have to present yourself to higher types of stimuli to keep increasing your skills' level, a soft cap to say.

After that would be skills with kind of overlapping effects. for example your pain res. and fatigue res. are skills that have similar effects, kind of. They resist debilitating effects to your body, keep on stacking em skillz and your system would automatically synthesize them ok? So try to get em all and be invincible kekeke. Once you have a synthesized skill, the others that you receive would merge with the higher tiered one, so make sure to not have leaks to them. Your enemies might have something that can throw at you and be under prepared, good luck. I don't want you to be up here so soon after all.

Hmm I see. This is very informative indeed. I guess I would have to grind a lot huh, gotta go grind then. God, I feel like I'm playing an rpg again, only thing I can grind right now is fatigue res. damn, can't possibly inflict self harm now can we. Oh well, better than nothing at least.

chappy done, before we build the world, gotta build the base ya know. I had the idea synthesize so his stats won't be cluttered with tons of crap, that will be exhausting to think about and write. some skills like resistances won't probably be mentioned but included in the higher tier skills which are the synthesized ones to reduce redundancy.

as for the expositions. it must be pretty tiring to read but of course, the basics is, expositions should start 1st. And I think these are quite important for the progression of the protag's skills and story as well. Next chapter we'll have a little time skip and we will now know a bit of the timeline we're in for the ones who know honkai. While for the ones who don't play, world building. A few months has passed since I was born into this world. I have been making some good progress on my stats, even though only 6 months have passed.

1st of all my stats have increased pretty much what I expected of it, babies sleep 22 hours a day in the 1st month of their lives after all. Then, I slowwwlyyy grind my stats, due to my adaptation I can be awake for an hour more at most. I will improve better when I can start to crawl better and walk, just be patient.

My dexterity is still pretty crap, I can grasp things better than average babies due to my more efficient neural network, but, that's the only thing I can do with my hands, for now.

Now for my Int stat, made some pretty high advancement no? It's because this world is more advanced than my old world. Like a lot, lot, damn. Like there are advanced AI in all the electronics in this world like they're candies, I don't know how advanced we are because I'm just at home for now, but based on the book my dad Eric left on the table open, the sciences in this world are pretty much above and beyond. they have cold fusion reactors, nanotech widely spread all over the world, I even saw a quinjet like aircraft here. You know that shit the avengers ride on. Ahhh it sure tickles my motivation, I mean are you even a man if you don't want to ride those and do aerial dog fights?

Speaking of my house, my parents Frey and Eric are pretty loaded I think? In my developing, but still a bit blurry eyesight, I can now see that my house is pretty big, probably a thousand square meters big, which is a mansion of course. I've seen our library once and the shelves looked like towers, hot damn.

Majority of the books in our house are dedicated to science based on what I can see on the catalogues and when dad was leaving the house he was carrying a lab coat, giving me a conclusion that he may be a scientist that is pretty successful or a researcher. My mom, I don't know. She may be at a maternity leave, just feeding me some chunky food that feels like mashed taters and formula, but tastes heavenly.

I feel like my body is developing much faster, I can already support my body well, my head doesn't bob anymore, I can sit still already without help meaning my bones and muscles are developed like a 1 year old already. I can probably go to the toilet when I turn 1 because babies can be potty trained at 2.

As for the geography of this world, I can see that I am currently in Changkong city because of the local news hosting a festival. I must be in the asian continent huh? But mom and dad don't really look asian, probably immigrants or this city is the base of operations for my parents' work or something.

Speaking of my parents, I really call Frey and Eric mom and dad. They cherish me after all, and gives me a lot of affection, plays with me a lot. Overall good parents even though they are kinda busy, mom started to teach me the language and alphabets when bonding with me. Pretty redundant, but, I still appreciate it. In my previous life I was always alone, My learning has been due to nursery rhymes they would keep me busy with and at 2 I can speak 2 languages pretty well because the nursery rhymes were english.

All in all I have a pretty good life right now, exciting as well because I am kinda in a scifi world too. Makes me giddy when I can mess with stuff as I grow up hehehe, there's a lot of information that would have to be relearned, but, that's where's the fun is. I will probably augment my body using gene technology and nanotech implants. Making me like that certain senator, saying crap like nano machines son. Though I might look like Jack because I have silver hair, but with deep emerald green eyes.

As for my plans to gain power, I'm having a backseat for my physical development until I can walk and exercise safely. My biggest hurdle though is how I can be more resilient, resilient not in the way you think though. I want to be biologically immortal, and of course you can't call yourself immortal without being able to regenerate and shrug off most injuries. Why is it a big hurdle you ask? When those mc's with this skill just regrow a limb like picollo or some shit. Pretty simple, cancer, This is a pretty big deal. In order to regenerate I would have to get my cells to replicate rapidly and not just that if I for say, lose a limb I'd need stem cells that would then remake everything in that limb. Tendons, nerves, muscle fibers, bone matrix, etc. That, would lead to cancer due to natural limits of the cells in the human body, degrading evey time it splits and ultimately leading to cancer cells and/or aging like tsunade, I am not certainly a senju so I would shrivel up like a prune or be a blob of cancerous cells making me look like an outer god or something. Makes me shiver.

Immortality on the other hand, same as above. My cells would eventually degrade and my dna would be damaged, leading to aging if I don't die of cancer. In order to counter that I remember the only biologically immortal being in the planet, the jellyfish Turritopsis dohrnii. They are biologically immortal because of their certain life processes that would return them to an infant like state from probably undamaged stem cells. The problem is, I would be very vulnerable if I choose this route, nevertheless, it is the most plausible thing I can think of right now. Maybe control my metabolism as well so I won't degrade and be an old prune.

But I would have to 1st change my genetics so I would become a perfect human. This world has probably advanced gene editing like Crispr in my previous life no? If not, then using my processing power and abundance of wealth I would make it myself.

Phew, after exercising, which is just running around, jumping, basic calisthenics and what not. My 5 year old body is now sweaty, now to increase my exercise effectiveness eat a good meal. Gotta fit your macros bro.

Hmm not bad, not bad at all. I am currently almost as strong as an average adult, my INT though, pretty high due to reading every literature related to my goals in our library, especially when I only need about 5 hours of sleep a day. It kinda slowed down though, just a 9 point increase, probably because I need to branch out to other information other than biology.

Due to my arduous studying, I also had a new skill, pretty important too I would say.

-due to the massive information dump that the skill bearer has put himself into, data can now be more compartmentalized easily leading to less forgetfulness and difficulty recalling.

Ooh, yeah baby, this will be important as well, I can already taste the upgrade this skill will have. The memory palace, that is important to my research for I will be needing A LOT of knowledge and data.

As for the others I also learned.

-due to minor manipulations to eating habits and physical activities, the skill bearer can now increase or decrease basic metabolic processes i.e. Hunger, digestion, cell energy production.

This will lead to better body efficiency, and if I level this up religiously ultimately upgrading it. I might just control my body enough so I can basically mould it to perfection.

But this all pales in comparison to what I have found in the internet when I was finally allowed to surf it. One day being excited just how much faster and awesome scifi internet would be. Watching some videos on some kind of youtube platform, trying to see what is the advancement of other tech and of course, games.

There I saw some pretty old news. A honkai impact, as I was intrigued what it was and why was it pretty important because when I searched about it tons of things appeared. The very 1st one happened about a few decades ago, at the west continent I think is america due to the map. There was sudden increase in energy in the heart of a major city likely this place's New York or something. At 1st it wasn't really that concerning, minor at best. Then after a few hours animals started to become rabid, mutating as well getting bigger and bigger, stronger, more vicious.

Pet owners started getting mutilated by these new life forms, which are now called honkai beasts. When panic was now starting to increase and paranoia is rampant. Boom a pulse of energy so strong it decimated the whole city almost instantly. Killing approximately a million people based on estimations.

But that wasn't even the worst part. The energy now called honkai energy was like radiation, the huge amount of it after the impact seeped into the populace. Turning them to super powered zombies that can break concrete walls without that much difficulty. As the zombies and the honkai radiation wreaked havoc in the city, there was almost no response by the government. It was like a nuclear explosion with a zombie outbreak that compliments each other.

With this catastrophe it would probably need a month at least even if the current tech is vastly superior due to the mutated freaks of nature and deadly radiation, leading to exponential amounts of disaster.

The most important part though that led to the decimation of 99% of the population of that city, was the birth of a herrscher. (ruler or lawmaker in german).

The herrscher was armed with supernatural powers, even bending reality and physics to their will. This particular one had the power to spawn things from thin air. And the very thing it made were weapons, not ordinary hot weapons though. It made bombs and chemical weapons. Though scientists and researchers now weren't quite sure why it didn't make those with nuclear or overwhelming firepower.

After he was subjugated after a long fight because it was making energy fields that can't be pierced by simple weapons. The herrscher was identified to be a man in his 30s living in the slums of the city. Orphaned and probably had a hard life, researchers nowadays in a certain organization specialized in honkai has theorized that his powers may be connected to his knowledge of the things to be created. After all, this man was uneducated and has low comprehension of the physics and subtleties needed to make fusion hydrogen bombs. Nevertheless, this incident called a honkai impact was known to the world immediately.

Thus the UN made an organization called. Fire Moth, a worldwide party of researchers, scientists, governments, military. You name it, if it is related to honkai, they have everything. 1st they have contained the leftover honkai energy that decimated the city, made weapons and advancements to research this corrupting energy. Vowing to know everything about it and making it useful to humanity.

2 decades later, the 2nd appeared in europe.

Chapter 7: School Days

(not that one)

As I scrolled and researched more on that enlightening day, the 2nd herrscher also appeared. she appeared in the middle of europe causing another honkai impact, even stronger than the 1st. But, due to fire moth's effort a lot of people were evacuated making the casualties be less than before. Still a lot, approximately 300k but at least less. After the civilians at the location were successful with the evac. Warheads were immediately raining down, decimating the city further making the populace quite gloomy.

There were no body reportedly seen after the bombardment, fire moth has fortunately decided on a wait and see protocol. As the tensions slowly decrease in a couple of hours, she appeared in the next city through a portal, without even a scratch. They were blindsided, the city was engulfed in complete havoc in just an hour. Thousands dying every minute to the legion of honkai beasts and zombies attacking the populace. The local guard and military of course fought with everything they can throw without compromising the civs. But the herrscher's power seemed almost god like and unbeatable.

Every bullet, every explosive, ammunition and shells raining upon her was stopped by a blue shield. Cruise missiles and orbital bombardments seemingly disappeared when she conjured multiple portals then the weapons exploded all over the city in a grand display of explosions.

Fire moth, with all the geniuses aplenty, quickly concluded that the herrscher's power is space time manipulation. It explains the indestructible shield, the portals and her seemingly zipping from her birthplace to another city instantaneously.

As they try to make a plan as even though honkai fission bombs don't work. An ingenious plan was made, why pour overwhelming fire power onto the herrscher when we can make a surgical strike after a distraction. They have to make it quick, thousands are still dying while making a counteroffensive.

A human, even though enhanced as a herrscher, must have limits. Especially on their reaction time. Fire moth will capitalize this using a particle cannon to blind side the herrscher. Quickly sending a decoy suicide squad disguised as an assassin group. The soldiers got close quietly and covertly to their target, using energy weapons enhanced with honkai they tried to struck the herrscher but failed immediately of course. As they were cleanly sliced to pieces immediately, the target laughing like a maniac thinking of their foolish endeavours. A laser suddenly struck from overhead, glassing the very ground she stood upon, leaving nothing but a gem in the aftermath.

"Damn, when I remember those overpowered guys I instantly shiver on what I would do if faced with those hax. I must hasten my plans and practically stat check them, damned hax at least with superior stats I can run away and wait for fire moth or collaborate with them to make counters." Einheri muttered.

But now I will just go to the dreaded reincarnator's big problem. School,

"sigh, well at least I can play around and grind a bit. Better make my time at home count by reading everything that I can to help develop my project."

Frey: "Honey, Ein what are you muttering about by yourself. You excited for school? Make a lot of friends okay?. You've been reading and playing by yourself for a long time after all."

Ein: "Yes, mom, and dad please tell mom that I've been doing these things so I can have a bright future okay. Mom is such a worrywart, thinking that I would be alone forever or something." Isn't that rude? He thought

Eric: "Ein is right Frey, let him do what he wants, not that it's harmful or anything. But, do make some friends and acquaintances young man, you might see your future wife at school." as he laughed boisterously

Frey: "hmph, what are you talking about Eric, our little boy won't be plagued with hussies! I'll beat em with a stick if I have to, little Ein is super duper cute after all."

Mom is kinda right though, I am quite the cutie. Now with medium length Silver hair, a cute little face with almond shaped deep green eyes that looks as verdant as a bright forest. Not bad, not bad indeed, maybe I should let my hair grow? Look like Sephiroth?

Ooh baby I like the sound of that.

As I daydream about my future looks, dad ushers me to our car for my 1st day at school.

Eric: "Come on son, won't want to be late at your 1st day now do you?"

While at the car I think of ways to grind my Int and Increase my literature as well to bump up the success for my project, we arrived at the elementary school I'll be painstakingly attend, ugh.

Eric: "Go on son, start your 1st day at school and learn a lot okay? Make friends as well."

My mom was sobbing and then she said "Be good at school okay? Don't forget to have lunch, wash your hands before you eat, don't let hussies near you! And, and, and."

Ein: "Mom! I know, I know, alright? Don't worry about me I'm gonna behave okay? Stop worrying so much I won't be going to war geez."

Frey: "And?" She says while raising an eyebrow at me.

Ein: "And don't let hussies put their grubby little hands on me, sheesh mom I'm gonna go to a 1st grade classroom."

Eric laughed "Your mom is just worried about you, now go on, shoo. We will be seeing you later alright?

Ein: "I know. Love you mom, dad. See you later." As I then walk to my classroom looking at a map and looking for the room.

"Class 1-A should be righhht over here." I saw a little sign with 1-A then entered. The class was already half full, a couple of minutes should be enough, then classes begins. Sigh, I wish I had enough time to put some books in my bag. Maybe I can read while class is underway and look at the lecture from time to time so I won't get scolded. Kids can't focus for a long time anyway so I can get away with it.

As the minutes pass while I was thinking, the class was now full and a middle aged woman came to the center of the room in front. "Alright kids I will be teaching for your homeroom for today, but we will 1st introduce ourselves."

Of course I don't listen for their name. Maybe just call my teacher ma'am or something. The students slowly introduce themselves and their hobbies and what not. While I just stare at the front listlessly.

Then a girl with dark purple hair and indigo eyes introduces herself.

girl: "My name is MEI, I like to read and have more knowledge about the world."

Hm, so this girl is a nerd huh? The kids already think of her as boring too I can see it in their awkward faces. If I'm gonna make some friends, might as well this little cutie maybe? I just have a feeling that we will get along, after all just stewing in my thoughts all day every monday to friday would bore me senseless.

We will see what will happen with her. Gotta introduce someone to my mom, after all she'll get on my case again if I told her I made no friends in school, sigh.

Chapter 8: MEI

As the class goes on and I wallow about with my thoughts, thinking about how to make my genes virtually perfect. Unfortunately, the gene editing in this world hasn't been focused upon unlike the energy production in this world. Energy crisis is a big problem after all, though because of the new power sources like nuclear and honkai power plants, we won't be destroyed by global warming and the such.

The only threat now will be the honkai. I must expedite my plans. Probably create a more suitable training plan for my stats 1st then possibly at high school reveal my genius mind so I can then truly start at gene splicing.

Damned honkai, probably the reason why making designer babies was withheld. No matter, I have plenty of time, honkai beast attacks still happen but they're taken care of pretty easily. Honkai impacts are the ones truly and absolutely dangerous for me, the radiation corrupts every organism almost instantaneously with high doses. I can safely conclude that my adaptation will not work quickly enough to battle it. I must have controlled doses exposed to me and then ramp it up, there is enough honkai energy to boost my resistance to it.

Based on the 1st 2 disasters. There is quite a bit of a time window when herrschers are born. at least a decade or 2, hm, of course this is not set in stone and it might get faster, that's why when I graduate high school I must get my hands on good tech and resources. Mom and dad can help me with this, they are researchers after all, and what do you know, when I asked them what do they do, they are actually researchers in fire moth. Their parents are Europeans who vacated from their country, because they thought the frequent honkai beast attacks and probable honkai impact would be dangerous, now we immigrated here in the far east.

The bell for recess rung throughout the school that broke me out of my thoughts. Taking out my lunch box which is approximately a pound in weight, what? I eat a lot, my metabolism is flexible after all. My height is actually taller than all the kids here now that I think about it, I probably have a physique of an 8 or 9 year old. Basically a head taller than the rest.

Now where's that girl MEI, there's no surnames here too. I guess different cultures or something. I scan my surroundings looking for my target ahem, friend candidate.

There she was at the front reading while eating a sandwich, basically alone. Kids don't like nerds at this age after all, she has that don't disturb me vibe too. Gotta go bother her then hehe, not like the others want to talk to me too. My eyes are kinda sharp and the deep green makes it look like I'm looking at your soul. Being a head taller than everyone kinda intimidates them too.

POV SWITCHEROO

Mei: As I was dropped to school and said my goodbyes. After a bit of navigating, I reached my classroom, pretty normal class, all things considered. Alphabets stuck on the walls, a hologram board for the lectures, and some chairs with tables on them.

Sitting at the front row seat, I sigh. Children of my age are stupid, only things they care about are playing and eating food off of the ground. I wish they won't bother me at least. Then I saw a pretty tall boy sitting on the last row, his eyes a piercing deep green that made me uncomfortable. Though he kinda looks listless, probably bored, I feel that he and me can get along. If, he isn't stupid.

He did introduce himself as one that is interested in science.

The bell for recess rung, I take out one of the books I brought so I can read in peace. My lunch too, a simple tuna mayo sandwich and some orange juice. I looked around before doing my own thing and I saw that Einheri boy taking out a huge lunch box packed with meat and vegetables. I guess that's why he's so tall I thought.

Taking a bite off my sandwich and opening my book I started to relax and read as no one is coming to bother me. A couple of moments later though, Einheri came and sat next to me with his lunch box.

He then casually said "Yo, I'm Einheri, you can call me Ein. You actually caught my interest when you said you like knowing more of the world?"

And as I was starting to get irritated as he will cut down on my reading time, I didn't know that this was the start of an intertwined fate that will throw the world upside down in an instant.

Chapter 9: Making a Buddy

As I sat next to Mei and said my opening line, waiting for her response. I start munching on my lunch, then with furrowed brows and that irritated look she said "Hello, I am Mei. I do like to read and be knowledgeable. So, what do you want?"

Ooh this girl has sass, I chuckled a bit then told her "What? Is it so bad that I wanted to talk to my classmate with similar interests? Don't worry I think we'll get along."

Mei: "Hm, I guess, but you are cutting down my time on my reading. We only have a 30 minute break and I would like to read." She started eating again and looked towards her book.

Ein: "I see, I just can't help it you know? I saw you pull that physics book and just though that I might be able to talk with you because I really like to read too." I then waited for her to take the bait.

Mei slowly looked toward me with a glint in her eyes but still a little bit suspicious. "Then what do YOU read hmm?"

Shrugging I said "Science too, but mainly about biology. Hey, how about, You recommend me some physics books and I'll give you some ideas about biology ones?" Thinking a bit while doing the thinking pose.

Mei: "Well, how about you look for this book I'm reading right now, it talks about the basics about physics and then slowly increases in difficulty."

Ein: "So it's like a physics for dummies, something like that? Then ramps up to deeper topics?"I eye it a bit with interest.

Mei: "It's not for dummies! It's the basics, BA SICS." She said with a little more force in her calm voice.

"Hahaha it's just a joke Mei-chan, forgive me ok." He said with a teasing tone. I'll try to look for that particular book in our library, we have a pretty large library dedicated to science you know? I'll bring some of the ones I read to class tomorrow how about that?"

Mei looked at me with exasperation "Mei-chan!? Don't call me that, hmph. But a library you say?" She silently ponders for a moment "How extensive is your library?" With slight interest in her voice.

Hook, line, and sinker. "Hm, it's huge ya know, like a shelf is probably as high as the ceiling here. So maybe 4 to 5 meters tall?" Recalling the huge bookshelves at home. "So how about it Mei-chan, you interested?" I grinned.

"Hmph." She rolled her eyes. "Bring a few tomorrow and I'll look for some in my home too." She told me but with a bit of excitement.

Hehe you're just a kid still after all, getting all excited. "Sure, friends?" I gave my hand to shake on it.

Slowly but surely Mei shook hands, tempted by the new books she can get and excited about getting a friend that can understand her. "Un, friends." She shyly says with a quiet voice.

Hoho, so she's quite introverted huh. Well, at least she will have a friend in me now, I can already tell that this girl would be bullied in middle school being called nerd. Alone in a corner and reading nothing but books.

"Umu, my books won't disappoint Mei-chan, let's eat then. Recess won't last forever after all." They then ate quietly, with the kids in the back as white noise.

As the class resumed, I just lazily waited for it to end. Then as the final bell rung, I went to Mei and asked her "Wanna go home together Mei-chan, after all, that's what friends do." I laughed.

Mei blushing a bit, surely embarrassed, nod her head and then we walked to the school gates. While waiting for my parents I asked her a few questions.

"Mei-chan, will your parents pick you up?"

Mei: "Yes, they will. How about you Ein?"

Ein: "Me too, they'll come, my house is quite a bit far from here after all. Nee, Mei-chan what's your goal? Why do you read difficult books instead of playing and just relaxing?"

Silently thinking for a minute Mei then said "I don't know, I think it's because I don't really see myself playing around like other kids. And at home, mom and dad are always at work so I found a hobby in books. I just like them I guess." She said with a somber tone

"I see. Then Mei-chan, why don't you ask your parents if you can go to our house, you are alone anyway after you guys go back home. Then we will go through our library." I said with a smile. She is quite lonely huh, might as well make my friend smarter as well. I can see her potential, she is just a 5 year old after all, but already reading physics books. We'll probably be top notch researchers if this goes on.

Stunned for a bit she then silently says "I'll try to talk to my parents while we go home. Thank you Ein." She looks at the ground.

Damn I might make a kid cry. "Don't worry about it Mei-chan, I'm your friend now after all. We should do fun things together yeah?" I snorted.

As we conversed I saw a man and a woman come near to us.

Man: "Mei, let's go dad still has work."

Woman: "Come on sweetie."

Mei: "Yes mom, dad. I'll just say goodbye to my friend here."

The woman looks at me and then smiles "Why hello there young man. Thank you for keeping Mei company, what's your name honey?"

Ein: "I'm Einheri ma'am, no worries Mei-chan is my friend after all." I smile back.

Man: "Thanks as well Einheri, now we will be going. Say goodbye to your friend Mei."

"Bye Ein, remember your promise earlier okay?"

I nod "Yeah Mei-chan don't worry. Goodbye as well ma'am, sir. Take care on the way home." I waved as they started to walk. Now then, time to grind and give Mei some books.

POV switcheroo

Mei: I never thought that I would make a friend today, I guess this day wasn't a total waste after all and I'd have someone to talk to as well. I thought with a slight smile.

Woman: "Oh, did you enjoy your 1st day Mei? You made a pretty cute friend too fufufu."

Mei blushed a bit. "Yeah mom, I think we'll get along. By the way mom, Ein invited me to go to his house, Can I go?"

Woman: "Why not? Honey, Mei can go right?"

Man: "Yeah sure, just tell us his address and mom will pick you up after work, she finishes about 6 so you can go."

Mei gave a bright smile "Un. I'll ask him tomorrow."

Chapter 10: Bonds

A few months have passed now and Mei has been regularly been going here about 3 times a week. Just us talking and reading books, playing board games like chess and the like, discussing topics 5 year olds shouldn't understand yet. I'm quite impressed really, Mei is really intelligent and has been stacking knowledge upon knowledge. With her still pliable brain she soaks it all up pretty easily too. Then one day I asked her a pretty important question.

"Mei-chan, don't you want to use our knowledge for something? Maybe become a researcher or scientist?" I probed.

Mei internalized the question "Hm, probably, I think that being a researcher would be fun. What kind though?" She asked curiously.

"Well, how about research pertaining to honkai? It's been decades but we still don't know a lot about it after all, won't it be quite the challenge and enlightening topic to discover?" I gave a small suggestion, I would need to weaponize or introduce honkai to my body. Those hax would certainly be a key factor for survival or the upcoming fights in the future.

As if she has been hit by a realization her eyes twinkled "Oh yeah. I've forgot about honkai life forms and energy, good idea Ein. Maybe I would like to research about those one day. One thing though, Fire moth basically is the only option and I don't think I have the backing to enter the organization." Her excitement dimmed down at her conclusion.

Noticing this I quickly interjected "Hm, that won't be a problem Mei-chan. My parents are Fire moth researchers ya know." I smirked, I guess my friend will be a big contribution for my development, and we would be working on it side by side.

Gasping at the surprise "I didn't know your parents work at Fire moth Ein!?" She said shocked.

"Well you didn't ask now did you?" I said laughing. "I'll talk to my parents about this Mei-chan. I think if we show them our knowledge we can get in after we probably graduate high school? At the rate we're going we will have mastery over a lot of topics pertaining to science when we go to college." I concluded.

"Really? You believe that I can go work there with you? You'll truly help me?" She said, touched by my words.

"Haha of course Mei-chan, we'll be the best researchers of fire moth. Besides, it will be quite boring without you there no? How about when we grow up a bit more you also talk about this with your parents. After that I'll let my mom and dad convince yours."

"Un, I'll be sure to talk to them later."

Giddy about thinking of entering Fire moth.

"It's about time you'd go home Mei-chan, it's already 6:30 PM. I know you're excited but don't stay up too late thinking about it okay?" I teased her.

She rolls her eyes "Of course baka, you''ve told me that hundreds of time by now probably." Irritated by his teasing.

"Umu, good girl haha. Oh there's the doorbell, your mom is here, goodbye Mei-chan say hi to her for me okay? I'm gonna talk about our aspirations with mom and dad."

"See you next week Ein, thank you as always. Tell your parents thanks as well." As she packs her bag and goes to the front of the house.

1st my stats have increased quite nicely for a couple of few months. I did use our gym, although mom said not to do resistance training yet until I reach puberty, I sure can use the resistance bands there and calisthenic equipment like pull up bars. Embarrassingly, I do have to use stools haha.

2nd I now have a synthesized skill! Probably because I've been having either an ice bath or a 45°c one, for me it's pretty hot, don't judge me. For chemicals I saw some bleach and decided to smear it all over my self in the bathroom, of course I would have a water source nearby, I also found some poison Ivy at a park then tried to rub it on my limbs to see if I was allergic. Unfortunately, no. For toxins, my dad typically keeps some alcohol on a shelf in the kitchen, I secretly chugged some of the clear ones and watered it down just like the old days haha.

As I was analyzing my new stats and skill, my parents are finally home. Quite surprising as they are researchers. Probably doesn't go over time due to me. Welp gotta ask about Fire moth then.

As I walked to the living room where they are I greeted them "Welcome home mom, dad." My mom immediately hugged me, I hear her mutter recharging her einium or something.

After mom hugged me, I then looked at them dead in the eye. "Mom, dad, I think I found what I want to do." They flinched and waited for me to speak.

"I'm interested in working at Fire moth." I waited for them to internalize what I said.

Eric: "Sigh, son. Aren't you a bit too young to be thinking about what you want to do in life? I know you're smart and all, I've seen you burn through books like nothing after all. Why don't you relax a bit and unwind before making a decision?" He told me after thinking for a bit.

Frey: "Yeah honey, why all of the sudden?"

Ein: "You guys already know that I am quite intelligent, not to brag or anything but as dad said, I'm already trying to break through bioengineering, evolution, and genetics. Even college students will struggle at that no?"

Mom sighed "Alright honey, I think me and your dad can already accept this outcome. If what you say is true, you can probably go to college already. But! You'll find another hobby 1st young man, you've been just exercising and reading all day how about something other than those? Like music, I'm a musician ya know? Just not professional, and playing music just have this calming feel to it. I just don't want you to burn out like a candle, you're still so young after all.

That got me thinking, I might not be having bug hurdles right now, but when I start to see walls in my path burn out might just do me in and send me to a spiral of failures due to frustration. Hm, I did quite like music in my past life, I was classically trained as well with the violin. It will train my brain and dexterity as well anyway.

After a solid minute of thinking, I decided. "Okay mom, I think music is quite interesting too. How about you teach me?"

Excited she almost shouted "Why yes of course! We're gonna have so much fun honey."

Ein: "Mom, dad, by the way. What are your specialties as a researcher?"

Eric: "Oh, now that I think about it you don't know that. I am an expert in mathematics Ein."

Frey: "I specialize in physics, you name it I know it. I am a genius after all just like you honey ahem." Giving me a smug look

Perfect, a branch that I do not focus on that much. "Can you guys teach me about your expertise in your spare time?" Here comes the unbeatable shota puppy dog eyes attack.

Frey: "Ahk, you're too cute honey I just can't say no to that face." Holding her chest like she was having a heart attack.

Eric: Sure thing son. What father won't like to discuss his work to his child, I've been thinking about it actually when I saw you so obsessed reading."

"Thanks mom, dad. You guys are the best you know that, I love you." As I hugged them.

Frey: "You really tryna kill me Ein? Come here sweetie."

Eric: "Hah, my son sure is growing up too quickly. You might just make your old man cry."

As we bask in the hug, I thought that I am really lucky in this life.

Chapter 11: Gone but not Forgotten

As the days go by and I learn from my parents, hang out with Mei. Pretty peaceful overall. There was a problem though, Mei was acting pretty weird. She hasn't been to my house for the past 2 weeks, saying that she is occupied for some things in her home.

I've decided to wait it out a bit and let her be, maybe she has some problems at home. She seems to be healthy and there are no signs of abuse and the like, so it must be another matter. She doesn't want me to know anyway, I'll give her some space about that.

During this time I told my parents that martial arts would also help me build discipline and calmness. Will let me exercise too, after a bit of contemplation they ultimately agreed. 2 birds with one stone after all.

I also told them I wouldn't settle for a half-assed school like those Mcdojos, giving black belts to students left and right. Due to my faster learning curve, I also want the school to have multiple disciplines. The more I master, the better I will be in combat after all 1st I would probably learn striking focused MAs. It would be stupid to go grapple huge honkai beasts and herrschers after all. Even basic mobs like those chariot class mobs decimates thick concrete walls like wet tissue paper. 2nd would be weapons, maybe bladed weapons for cutting their silicone based bodies with honkai based weapons. These things don't have internal organs after all, blunt weapons would need inordinate amount of force and will be inefficient for my probable slightly superhuman strength when I would estimate conflict will happen.

Spears for piercing and slight cutting power. Presumably, that would be effective only when I have a high base strength. Although, once I minmax my stats, the extra reach, versatility and options of a spear would be much better for me. Yosh, 1st would be to polish my skills as a striker, I was a pretty normal guy back then. Learning how to use my body as a weapon first and foremost compliments armed combat as well.

I can have pretty surprising attacks too using my inventory. Well, it won't have much use now anyway, besides the currently stored emergency supplies and food inside. I also need to interact with a holographic interface to take out objects, pretty useful still, but it's no cheat that can be utilized heavily in high speed fights. At least I will always be with weapons when I can have some.

After a few weeks of learning martial arts I have received another skill, this time more suited for combat even though it's pretty simple.

Muscle memory lvl 1

- with repetition, the neurons in the muscles makes a shortcut that will let the body do a certain task almost automatically. Without or with minimal conscious commands.

If I can increase the levels of this skill I can reach the point of fighting almost automatically without thinking of anything. At a higher tier of the skill I might even be able to fight unconscious, if my body feels something it will react accordingly. I must increase my senses as well to better compliment this.

As I stare in to space at class, thinking of combos and stuff. The bell rings, indicating end of classes. I look at Mei and she stares at me for a bit seemingly making a decision. She then stood up and went to me, her expression hardens as she goes near.

"So? Why have you been gloomy these past few weeks? Mind telling me? Don't worry, I won't bite." I joke a bit to lighten the mood.

She stares at the floor a bit, then looks me in the eye and says "Ein, I won't see you anymore."

Ein: "Why?" I frown a bit.

Mei: "My parents have been assigned to Nagazora. I'll probably transfer at the end of the month and I won't be going to school anymore by tomorrow." She informed, with tears building up on her eyes that might fall with just a bit of movement."

"Is that so? Mei, you know that you can still contact me right? Why didn't you tell me earlier so we could hang out more?" I inquired.

Her lips tremble as she tries to find her words, her tears start to fall as her voice cracks "It's because..." she pauses "You're my 1st ever friend. Someone that didn't look at me weird because I was always quiet and reading. I want to hang out with you more, learn more things with you, play more." She says while sobbing.

"Hah, come here." I hugged her "You know Mei, I will always be your friend. We won't be separated forever, I'll try to visit you whenever I can. Besides, Nagazora is just an hour drive from here. Surely I can manage to visit, even just once a month. I promise."

"Really? You promise even if you become stupid?" She asks, starting to calm down.

Ein: "I won't become stupid, but I promise nevertheless."

Mei: "Okay, I promise that I'll study hard too and come to Fire moth. We'll be the best researchers ever! okay?"

Ein: "Yeah, of course! Now why don't you contact your parents and come to my house today. We'll throw you a party!"

Mei: "Un, I'll ask them. Let's make an awesome party okay!?"

"Hahaha, sure thing Mei-chan. I'll call my parents too just give me a minute okay?"

I called mom and dad, explained the situation and they of course said they'll prepare a party.

We threw a party for Mei, played all kinds of parlor games with the maids, ate a lot of things until she had a food coma. Overall, enjoying things just like a regular kid should. But alas, things will naturally come to an end. As the doorbell rung, meaning her parents are here to pick her up.

Frey: "You'll always be welcome here sweetie, remember that. See you next time, okay?" My mother smiled sweetly at Mei.

Eric: "That's right Mei, thanks as well for being our son's friend."

We ushered Mei to the front door and before she went out, she looked at me and said "Remember our promise Ein. Visit often and study hard too, so we will work at Fire moth!" She exclaimed, showing her enthusiasm.

"Yeah." I smiled "I promise, see you later Mei-chan."

Her parents then thanked us for being her good friend and they promptly left the premises, I waved as she left.

I'm gonna miss that kid, I hope she won't be too lonely.

Frey: "Don't worry honey, she'll be fine. That girl is strong and mature after all."

Eric: "You'll be meeting at Fire moth too, so don't be getting sappy now. Work hard as well, just like her.

Ein: "Umu, she'll be fine, and we'll still see each other again anyway. Mom's right she's mature too."

Sorry about the people that would've liked Mei to be a love interest. An event that is crucial for further development of the story would be null if Mei is with the mc.

If you think Mei has too much development only to be curbed to the side, I'd just like to say that fleshing out characters is much more meaningful and they won't be basic plot devices that don't contribute to the story until their use.

I'll be ramping up the story, for me the progression is too slow. There are plenty of characters and honkai and developing them would take too long if I progress Ein's age until the actual meat of the story.

Chapter 12: Life Goes On

As Mei is now gone in school, after just another day at class I've decided instantly that I should just get home schooled. My parents already know that attending primary school doesn't have any benefits for me anyway. Mom tried to argue that I have to make more friends, but I just told her Mei is enough for now and other normal kids just aren't quite intelligent enough for me.

After my counter arguments and some coaxing with the all powerful puppy dog eyes jutsu, they agreed without a hiccup. Well then, now that I'm not preoccupied with school, I'll just be grinding some stats and new skills to the limit without showing my parents impossible feats for my kid body.

After a year, as I was doing sprints while weighing my self down with home made weights I made. A wild white haired boy suddenly appeared, he crashed into me because he was fighting with another kid that has light gray hair

They were pushing each other with increasing force until the white haired kid stumbled and was gonna have a pretty nasty fall. Of course as a past doctor, might as well not let this kid possibly have broken bones or a concussion or something.

I was currently packed to the brim with weight, I had a 100 lb vest with pockets filled with lead ingots. Little squares 3 inches across and 2 inches thick, I currently have 12 blocks in my vest that I ordered made specifically for me. I have tons of money after all, My parents gave me a separate account so they don't really know what I buy, They don't check too. Being smart really is good. At my 4 limbs they are with 25 lbs, it really was a brilliant idea on my part, now I can run without looking like an olympian athlete as a 10 year old looking kid.

Then, he crashed into me. Thankfully his momentum wasn't high enough or he'll plant his mug on metal plates.

Ein: "Hey dude, you alright?" Imma call you white for now.

White: "Ugh, thanks! I suddenly stumbled, if you didn't caught me I would've face planted on the ground!" He said laughing. "I'm Kevin by the way, who are you? Me and Su play here a lot and we haven't seen you before."

Su:"Hey! Kevin, you alright? Thanks for catching him, we would've been in trouble if he got hurt."

I laughed at Kevin's casualness "No problem, just didn't want to see him kiss concrete." I shrugged.

Kevin: Hey! I resent that! I maybe would've done an awesome ninja flip before I fell." He stated, quieter at the end.

Ein: "Alright, suuuuureee. Anyway, I'm Einheri by the way, call me Ein. Kevin, Su, nice to meet you guys."

Su: "Hah, you and your antics again Kevin. Nice to meet you as well Ein, as you heard from him." as he points at Kevin with irritation. "I am Su." He introduced.

"Well, why were you guys fighting anyway?" I asked

Kevin: "Ha! This girly Su said that I don't look like I'll achieve my dream. Can you believe this guy?" He exclaimed.

Su: "Well, you have short legs Kevin, and you're pretty skinny as well. You do know that athletes got to have standard body proportions to excel right?" He explained.

Kevin: "I just haven't grown up yet! We're still 7 after all. I'll be the best runner in the world, you'll see!"

Looking on at their conversation, I intervened for a compromise "Su, you're right about that." Then he gave Kevin a smug look saying told you so. "But, you're not just absolutely correct either. Kevin has a valid point, he might not be that short when middle school comes and beyond you know? The human body is quite complex after all, and we stop growing approximately at 18."

Kevin gave me an appreciative smile "I told you Su, even though you're aiming to be a doctor, we still don't know if everything is set in stone." He concluded.

Su: "Alright, alright. We'll just wait until we grow up I guess." He shrugged.

Deciding to take a break, I guess talking to them won't hurt. They're kinda funny too, Kevin is quite the passionate kid and Su is calm and observant. I guess opposites do attract?

As we walked through the park talking about ourselves for a bit, I learned that Su has a medical background in his family, that's why he's interested in medicine. Kevin is quite energetic and I guess he has a lot of energy to burn? Well, at least they have something they want to do. When I was their age I had nothing I wanted except reading novels, games, and anime after all. I silently reminisced.

Ein: "So Su, you said you wanted to be a doctor? Why though exactly? Being a doctor is quite difficult, and going into it without a proper reason except 'background' might burn you out."

Su: "Well, I once saw some cases my family brought home and the patient was irradiated with honkai. I read there that they were in immense pain and ultimately die with overwhelming suffering." The mood becoming somber.

Ein: I tapped his shoulder while saying "That's an admirable goal Su. I guess there's no need to worry about you becoming an excellent doctor." I smiled at him.

Kevin: "I didn't know you thought like that Su. But, as Ein said I also think you'll be the best! Just like me." He laughed lightening the mood.

"Hahaha, Kevin, Su. How about I help you guys? Su, we have a lot of literature that can be useful! When you don't understand something, 2 brains is better than one too. I am quite interested in medicine as well. Kevin, I'm actually attending a dojo around here. Why don't you become a student as well so we can physically train your body 1st? Then specialize when you grow up?"

Kevin: "Ooh, that might just be good." Clear excitement in his eyes.

Su: "Okay Ein, why don't we meet up at this park every few days?" He suggested, quite interested as well.

Ein: "Umu, then inform your parents and sometimes we could hang out at my house. We can use a lot of things from my home."

Well, it's quite boring without talking to anyone else besides mom and dad. They are pretty interesting I guess, might as well befriend them. Mom has been on my case for a while now too, saying I need more friends than Mei. 2 birds with one stone then, or maybe 3 because I now have someone to train with? More fun either way seeing Kevin squirm due to training hehehe.

"Yosh, give me your contacts guys. We're gonna have a lot of fun!"

Hey guys, thanks for reading. 2 important characters again. I'm gonna give a time skip until high school, because the big event happens when they are at high school.

I've fleshed out their backgrounds to explain their later achievements, basically how Kevin got quite athletic and charming because of his passionate personality. Su with his calmness and maturity due to an early eye opener about the effects of honkai, and his goal to cure it.

Chapter 13: Coincidence?

A good few years have passed. Me and the boys have been hanging out and doing our thing. At first, seeing Kevin twitch at the ground after grueling training was pretty hilarious. But, he never quit and did it pretty religiously. I guess he has the right amount of motivation huh? Meanwhile Su, He's pretty eager to learn too, he always asks me to send him more medical texts. Trying to have as much knowledge as possible. I was happy to help them, seeing as they are passionate and don't half ass things. Mei has been studying hard as well, I even thought She'll read herself to death by the rate she was burning off the books I sent her digitally. I was visiting her at least once a month, although she told me that I could visit less. Probably thinking I was busy, I quickly rebutted of course. When we hang it's already short, might as well keep the status quo.

Mom did do me kinda dirty though, said that I'm going to middle school and it's final. Well, I enrolled in my boys' school, better with companions than being swarmed to death by fan girls or something. I shudder when those girls are being kinda creepy. I can't really say that this was unexpected. When we started middle school, I was already 6 foot tall. With flowing luscious silver locks reaching my lower back, my piercing eyes seemed to be loved by the girls, and I was a beast in sports meets and the like.

Ha! When I went home with tons of chocolate, mom almost had a stroke. Yelling obscenities at the sky, saying that hussies were starting to put their grubby little hands on me. Mom is kinda crazy really, well when you're a genius like on her level they really do have some quirks sometimes.

Kevin and Su had fan clubs too. I didn't know those can really exist, Seeing Su's twitching eyebrows everytime we were being stalked was pretty amusing. Kevin though just takes it all in stride. He's less excitable now and more like confident, still passionate though. Now he's in the track club and been preparing for when high school comes to get scouted and be a pro. I believe he can do it though, he can run sub 5 second dashes for 50 meters now, while sub 9 in 100 meters.

We were currently 3rd years now, eventually the talk about what high school we would enrol in came up.

Kevin: "Hey guys, I think I'd like to go to a prestigious school using my scholarship, any advice though?" Asking us for opinions.

Su: "Hm, graduation is near too. I'd like to continue my studies in a good school too, for a better resume." He ponders.

Ein: "How about a school in Nagazora? The city is teeming with good schools, it's a huge metropolis after all."

Nagazora is a big city, and of course there would be tons of school there. Mei will be attending Senba Academy, a prestigious school that has centuries of history and culture. I think that school fits the bill for Kevin and Su. Mei will also be there, it would be a pretty ideal place to enrol for sure.

As I finished weighing different options I told them about Senba Academy. "Kevin, Su, Senba will be a perfect choice in my opinion. The curriculum is just right, you can go to college there too, overall a good school. So how about it? You guys agree?"

Kevin: "Oh, that one huh? I agree, it is one of the best schools out there. Pretty obvious already just based on the passing rate to get in. They also accept student athletes there, I'm sure I'll get in because of my records and above average grades." Excited with the thought of getting closer to his goal.

Su: "Good idea Ein, my parents also studied there, and we can pick specialty classes that can be added to our curriculum too, so college won't be as hard and confusing. I'd get training in a hospital early too, with their affiliated institutions." Su agreed quickly.

Ein: "Umu, you guys go on and tell your parents. We'll be going to Nagazora then. Their dorms are also pretty good, one student gets a room by themselves. They are huge after all, and as Kevin said, students aren't that many."

Quickly saying our goodbyes and dispersing. I thought that I should go and tell my parents my decision too. They'll be happy I'll be going to school with my friends.

At home, I told my parents that I'd be studying in Nagazora. They quickly agreed.

Frey: "Okay honey, you do you. We trust you after all, you're smart and you can take care of yourself already. Be good though, and don't get too full of yourself." She gave me a smile.

Eric: "Hah, my little man grew up too quickly. Moving out of the house now already, it's a pretty good school son. We give you our permission, and one more thing. We're proud of you!" He said and we got into a hug.

Ein: "Thanks mom, dad. Love you guys, don't worry though. I'll call frequently."

As me, Kevin, and Su took the train to Nagazora. I informed Mei that I made 2 more friends back in our city. This will increase her surprise fo sho.

As the opening ceremony starts, I quickly survey the surrounding. Looking for a purple haired girl. Using my enhanced sight and mental faculties, I found her near the front row.

"Kevin, Sue, come on and let's get a seat follow me." I tilted my face to the side so Mei won't identify me too quickly. Now we wait.

Mei Pov:

I sat and waited for the opening ceremony to start. This won't take too long, I'm quite interested on the special sub classes that will specialize upon a certain subject. Naturally I picked one for researchers.

And as it was about to start, I saw long silver hair in front of me. I silently thought about Einheri. I wish we could hang out more often I sigh mentally. It would be much more fun if we go to Fire moth together immediately.

He didn't tell me what school he'll be going to. Cheeky bastard, this guy in front of me just might be him. Shaking my head, I focus on the podium once more. That's pretty far fetched, I'll just study hard and wait out the days. It's just a few more years anyway, I thought.

After the ceremony, I stood up and quickly went to my assigned class. I sat on the front row, took a book from my bag and started reading.

As the class filled up, the professor arrived and is now introducing himself. The standard really. He also told us to give a basic introduction about ourselves. Ugh, I don't like that, I don't really care about my classmates as talking to them won't really be productive or anything. Hah might as well, not getting along with them would give me a headache anyway when we do group activities and research.

The class introduced themselves one by one starting from the rear, I didn't really look I can just memorize the class register.

Then a deep voice that sounded familiar spoke. "Yo, my name is Einheri. You guys can call me Ein, I like research and to exercise. Nice to meet you."

I was stunned for a second, before I slowly craned my head towards the back. There he was, looking right at me, giving a cheeky smirk. This bastard! He was coming to Nagazora! He'll surely be getting his just desserts after classes.

But thinking that he's here now. I guess there will be a person that understands me nearby again, I smile, pondering about a fun high school life just like the old days.

Me and the boys lazily walk to our class.

Finally arriving there we then looked around and saw that the back is empty. So we silently walked to the end or else people might snatch em up.

Silently waiting. The teacher arrived and did the usual, as he told us to introduce ourselves I smirked. Hehehe you're in for a surprise Mei-chan. The teach even wanted the back to introduce 1st, just perfect.

As I introduce myself, I saw that she suddenly froze, then slowly looking towards me I gave her a shit eating grin. Hehe look at that face, I wish I could've captured that. She was absolutely stunned, then she frowned deeply immediately. Ooh, she's angry, I wish I can distract her with some books or something, I chuckle.

This should be fun, after I introduce Kevin and Su, I hope we'll get along. Well, Su is pretty calm and intelligent. Mei will like him for sure, Kevin though, might just use a lil charm on her and she'll warm up eventually.

Chapter 14: Calm...

After startling my friend for a bit. I introduced her to Kevin and Su after classes. As you guessed, being an introvert really hampers your social skills. She was awkward as hell and quiet, staring at them then looked at me like she was asking for help. Of course, the rather astute me, ignored her silent plea.

"Oh, by the way Mei-chan here is a bit shy. So don't startle her alright." I gave Kevin a look.

Kevin: "Hey! Why are you looking at me like that." He huffed

Su: "You can be quite a bit too enthusiastic Kevin. Ein will warn you of course." Mocking him a bit.

Kevin: "Alright, alright, geez." He shrugs "You guys are too much."

Me and Su laughed.

"Ehem, let's do this again. Mei-chan, this guy with light gray hair is Su, he's an aspiring doctor. This white haired guy, is Kevin, he wants to be an elite athlete."

Kevin: "Yo." He raised his hand "Kevin, at your service. Ein's talked about you a bit, nice to meet you for the 1st time though Mei." He gave a smile.

Su: "Hello Mei, nice to meet you as well. I'm Su, it's a pleasure seeing you in person."

Mei: "Hi, I'm Mei, It's nice to meet you guys as well." she said quietly.

"Now that introductions are over. Why don't we talk more while having lunch?" I proposed

Trio: "Yeah."

As we walked to get a meal, I silently whispered to Mei "Hey, don't worry. They're good people, I think they'll be good friends with you too. Especially Su, We might get to work with him too."

She silently nodded and we arrived to a fast food chain. We ordered some food then we sat down, my portion is huge though. People gave me looks because I'm carrying a mountain of burgers on a tray.

Ein: Hey Su, you told me that you'll be a trainee at the place your parents work at? That's a pretty big hospital, you're gonna learn a lot there. Share some of your findings with me and Mei okay? She's quite interested in learning a lot after all." I tried to add her to the conversation.

Mei: "Oh, so Su will be working for atleast 2 years in the hospital? At such a big hospital too, honkai irradiated patients go there right? Do you think you can give us some papers from the research department there Su?" Then she panicked because that was a pretty tall order. "O-of course when you start to work there and if you can." She then looks at the ground embarrased.

Su: "Mei, don't worry, we still don't know if I can get some research papers there after all. But if I can access them and I can't take them home, maybe I'll make some copies." Su told the shy Mei.

Kevin: "Oh yeah, major athletes go to that hospital right? When you get in can you get me some about sports science if there are any? I think that will help me increase my times in track."

Ein: "Good idea guys, us helping each other would surely make our lives easier. You too Su, if you're stuck on something, make sure to contact us alright?"

Mei chuckles then smiles "Just like when we were little kids right Ein? But in your case you weren't little at all."

Kevin: "Yeah, he was always tall, a head taller than almost everyone I saw that was at our age."

Mei: "Right? The kids at our class were intimidated by him as well when he looks at them because he's literally looking down on the poor kids."

"What? Not easy being tall you know. Everybody looks at you and some even ask how's the weather." I grumble. "we still got some classes, we should go." Our group then left and went back to campus.

(I'll be doing some upgrades on the stat screen, putting levels on skills, now that I have thought about it. Will possibly reflect on stats, specifically some of them like the int one. This isn't the gamer after all.)

-tolerance type skill that resist stimuli i.e. heat, cold, toxins, chemical irritants, electricity, diseases, etc.

-tolerance type skill that resist physical types of damage to the body. i.e. blunt force, slashing, piercing damage, etc.

neural signal acceleration

-enhancing type skill that lets neural pathways be more efficient and faster due to increase in synaptic activity, neurotransmitter production, dendritic spines for more neuron connections, and increase myelin in axons for faster electrical signals. Gives more calculating power to the brain and increase to reflexes.

Eidetic memory

-Mental type skill that can perfectly store any information in the brain with perfect recall

Metabolic Control

-Physical type skill that can control the metabolic processes of the body i.e. hunger, hormones, heart rate, healing, anabolism and catabolism, etc.

(Basic explanation on catabolism: muscles, sugars, and fat turn to energy. anabolism: protein, sugars, minerals turn to tissue, fat, bones.)

Enhanced body

-enhancing type skill that increases the body's durability, flexibility, senses, elasticity etc. Gives: harder and denser muscles, bones. flexible joints, elastic tendons, etc.

There were some neat upgrades on my skills and stats, now I can lift 600 kgs pretty easily. (1300+ lbs for freedom units) my endurance scales with strength of course, newton's 3rd law. As for my speed, currently I can run 100 km/h casually, (60mph) upping my adrenaline and energy stores with metabolic control, I can probably double that based on my calculations, drag is a pain in the ass after all. Although, I can't keep that up for too long 15 minutes tops, my body won't be able to, for now. Not until maybe I get a skill for regeneration.

The days go by and all 4 of us have been hanging out, playing games, studying, going out to eat, karaoke. You know? The usual, for some high schoolers. At 1st Mei was quite reluctant to play around and she insisted on staying at the dorms to study. With a bit of coaxing from me and Kevin, she did relent. I argued that her mental fatigue will catch up to her and decrease her efficiency giving some meta analyses papers about the topic. Kevin though, kept on pestering her and said that she should have fun in life by exploring things that's around us.

Damn, Kevin with the talk no jutsu. I can't believe that it worked, well I did help but still. Well he is kind of the mood maker of the group, being a charmer and all, little devil. I'm the bridge maker and adaptable type, while Su is the calm, and always cool one. Mei is quite the restrained friend always thinking 1st before making a decision. At least she started to warm up to Kevin and Su.

But a couple of times when we were together, I noticed something. Kevin was giving attention to Mei a bit more than usual, sure he's quite the busybody and he might have wanted to get along with Mei better. But I just felt like something was fishy.

At 1st he was asking Mei a lot of questions. Like what's her likes, dislikes, favorite foods, books and the like. Typical probing, then he stood near her every time, he was like a leech. He then gave Mei compliments when he thought they were alone, I led Su away from them a bit and with my acute hearing, caught him red handed.

I then talked about this to Su.

"Hey, Su, don't you think that Kevin is acting differently? Like suspicious different?"

Su: "Of course Ein, he's been trying to butter up Mei for some time now."

Ein: "And Mei doesn't know any better, she might as well be dumb as a brick in these kinds of matters." I laugh.

Ein: "Hey Su, I'm going to talk to Kevin. This might be his 1st love after all, I'm gonna talk to him and ascertain his feelings."

Su: "Sure, I'm going to distract Mei for a bit then."

As we returned to the duo, Su then started talking to Mei and distract her. I quickly take away Kevin after saying that we're gonna go to the vending machine.

Ein: "Kevin, you do know that you're pretty obvious right? Mei might not notice but we do." I raise a brow

Kevin: He gave a wry smile, he then spoke "Yeah, I know, I wasn't really trying to hide it ya know? I really like her Ein, she's just... Different, you know that all our time in even back then from middle school that girls are all over us. She's the exact opposite of those girls. Very intelligent, not frivolous, and she doesn't really care about my face."

Ein: "Hm, you gotta give me more than that."

Kevin: "Well, I like it when she thinks, looking all serious. When she's nose deep reading, she sometimes tilt her head cutely. When I tease her she pouts looking like a cute pet. And when she gives one of her rare smiles, I just feel happy." he says, all smiles.

Ein: "Okay, now that I know you're really down bad." I deadpan stare. "Me and Su will help you have time to talk to her from time to time. Make it count lover boy." I laugh

Kevin: "Thanks man, I appreciate it."

At April 13th we planned on throwing Mei a birthday party, I booked a private room in a restaurant for a small party and I told them to set up a birthday type one.

As we wait for Mei to show up at the venue, Kevin is pretty much like a kid on a sugar rush. Saying he was excited was an understatement. He kept on pacing back and forth and fidget. It's only natural, he's planning to make his big reveal on Mei today. I just wish this doesn't blow up on his face or it'll be pretty awkward. Welp, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Mei opened the door and we immediately pop the party confetti.

Trio: "Happy birthday Mei!"

Ein: "Did you like our surprise? If I'm not wrong, you'll just skip your birthday and just go study or something." I teased.

Mei: She was shocked a bit, then it dawned on her that today was her birthday. She then chuckled and said "I suppose, thanks guys. This means a lot to me." She then smiled brightly.

Elbowing Kevin, He then quickly gets a box from the back and gave it to her.

Kevin: "We know that you won't really use conventional gifts, so we made this."

Mei received the gift and then carefully opened it. Inside, there was a framed picture and a scrap book. It was a picture of the four of them standing at the front gates of Senba. She then took the scrap book and opened it, inside were more pictures with a time and place indicated just above it. Looking below she saw some text that says what they were doing at the time.

Mei then slowly flipped page after page and she then becomes silent, looking at the ground. We then heard sniffles and before we can ask if she was ok she said. "You guys, I'll treasure this forever." She then looked at us with gratitude.

I laughed and said "Now, why don't we take another picture? Then we'll add it later to the rest." We took a picture and we proceeded with the party.

I gave a look to Su and Kevin.

"Su, let's go outside for a bit and ask about the cake." I then gave Kevin a thumbs up as we went out. "Hah, I just wish that Kevin will succeed. He's been trying to get closer to Mei for a few months now, that will probably bump up his success."

Su: "Yeah, try not to worry. He won't go on with this if he feels like he'll fail, have some confidence in him and his charm." Su smiled.

Kevin Pov

Alright, Ein and Su gave me the chance, It's show time.

"Hey Mei, happy birthday again! I'm glad that you really liked our gift." He gave a starter.

Mei: "Un, my past birthdays were pretty boring after all, or my parents forgot about it and just gave me some books after the next few days." She gives a wry smile.

Kevin: "Well, at least you have us now to celebrate your birthdays." he said with a toothy smile, lightening the mood.

Mei: "Yeah, thanks for cheering me up Kevin."

Kevin: "Hey, just curious. When we met, you told me that your dream was to get into fire moth and be researchers with Ein. Do you have any others?"

Mei: After pondering for a bit. She says "Well, I think I do have another one now too." She smiles "Maybe I'll try discover and enjoy more things in life just like what you told me back then. Life has been so colorful and fun when you guys came. I then thought that there's so much more out there besides reading and researching."

Kevin became silent for a bit, steeling his resolve he then says. "Why don't we have fun and enjoy life more with me, We'll find it all, have a fulfilling life." He smiles brightly at her.

Mei: "I don't quite understand. What do you mean Kevin, why are you excluding Su and Ein." she frowned.

Kevin: "No!" he exclaimed with panic "I don't mean it like that. I just wanna tell you that... That I love you, I want to spend more time with you, just the two of us. I'd like to know more about you. Talk with you, listen to your scientific advances even though I don't understand most of it. See your absolutely stunning smile. I'd love to be with you, for a long, long time." He looked at Mei's eyes full of affection.

Mei then got startled and looked at him with her mouth agape. She quietly thought for a minute all the things they've been doing the past few months, his bright and cheery attitude, his passion about the things that he likes, his teasing that irritates her to no end. And the smile on his face that oozes joy and positivity.

She then looked at him, her mind made up.

"Kevin." She pauses and he silently waits. "Sorry." She says, the light in his immediately dimmed and his shoulders slumped as he looked down. "But you'll have to take me on a date first before you get together with me mister." She smirks at him.

Kevin suddenly props up instantly and looks at Mei, then he smiled so widely it almost reached his ears. He bolted up and hugged Mei quickly "Yeah! we'll be going on a date you'll never forget! Believe it!" (cough cough, I just couldn't resist.) He then took a quick kiss on her forehead, making her blush instantly. "Heh, I see that little Mei is still a bit shy." He said sounding smug with a shit eating grin

Mei: "Hmph! You bastard! Go and fall in a ditch somewhere, see if I care." She glared

Kevin: "Hahaha, sorry, sorry. I was just so happy I can't resist." He then stared at her eyes, "I promise Mei, I'll make you the happiest girl ever."

Mei blushed "Un, you better!"

With Ein and Su

"Hey Su, let's go back. We've been gone for 30 minutes, Kevin Isn't the type that will go blank to a confession and stutter all over the place."

Su: Nodding "Yeah, come on. Let's go see the good news." He said smiling, thinking of Kevin's confidence and social skills.

As we returned with the cake in the room, we saw them sitting next to each other and talking animatedly. I can see that their hands are under the table. Ooh, Kevin going in for the kill huh.

Ein: "Yo, we got the cake birthday girl, now make a wish and blow the candles."

Su: "Come on Mei, make a wish now."

Mei closed her eyes for a bit and then blew the candles. She then looked at us one by one. "Thanks again guys. I really enjoyed today, You guys are the best, love you guys." She said with appreciation. We then all hugged her and we end the party on a positive note.

Ein: "By the way, what did you wish for?"

Mei: "That every day would be as happy as today." She then gave a beautiful smile.

Chapter 15: Turbulent Winds

It's been a couple of months since Mei's birthday party. The couple is still going strong, I chuckle when I remember Kevin doing one of the oldest tricks in the book.

Me and Su were spying on one of their dates so we can try and get some blackmail for Kevin. They were sitting on a bench while seeing the sunset. (Insert pic here).

Mei isn't really the cuddly type and we see Kevin in all his cheesiness. I immediately prepared a camera as Kevin awkwardly raised his arms, seemingly stretching innocently. Then he slowly lowered one of his arms to Mei's shoulder, trying to initiate some contact.

She immediately looked at him like a startled deer caught by headlights. She blinked a few times then pinched his sides. Me and Su smiled viciously as I caught it in Ultra 8k super HD, hehehe. "Kevin's gonna love this very much Su, kekeke." I give Su an face splitting grin.

After that, we silently waited for Kevin in his apartment and set up the TV with his little rom-com scene with Mei. We also gave it a dub so it'd be extra cringy for Kevin. As Kevin returned to an unlocked door in his flat, he instantly became suspicious and he slowly came in. But what he saw blindsided him, the T.V. was on and like the old flicks it had a countdown. Then it showed his date with Mei while they were on a bench, looking at the sunset. At 1st it looked quite romantic, then the dub came in.

Kevin's dub thoughts Voiced by yours truly:

"Ahh, Mei looks so beautiful. But after her party she just doesn't get all cuddly and smoochy! Hah, should I do it? Of course I should! She's just shy after all like a cute wittle animal." Then the video went to his cliche.

Su's dub lines with a cutesy obviously not a girl voice:

"Hmph! Mou Kev-chan you're a daring little one ain't cha? You just can't resist can you? Aren't you a little too obsessed with me? O kawaii koto." (cough, kaguya-san?)

Kev-chan thoughts: "Noooooooooo!!!" As he scooted over then scratched the back of his head awkwardly.

Kevin: "Wha?" Kevin just stood there, frozen and flabbergasted.

Me and Su then popped some confetti and laughed boisterously on his face, catching it all on ultra HD too of course. Gotta let Mei see this too.

Kevin: "You! You guys were spying on us!?" Then he dropped to ground with his hands on his face rolling on the floor like an earth worm sprinkled with salt. We just continued to laugh at him as he glared at us.

Kevin: "Come here you fucking bastards, I'm gonna hit you so hard you'll get amnesia!"

I then bolted with Su under my arms like a sack because we'll surely get caught.

After embarrassing Kevin to no end. I instantly became bored, I can't grind like a greasy fat guy under his parents' basement playing rpg's after all. If I bust out my 1ton weights and bench them in the school gym I'll be like an actor with paparazzi everywhere. Well, not like I'm not popular anyway. I'm titled the king of Senba, while Kevin and Su were princes, it only intensified more when we were in swimming class. Some pervert took pictures and videos of me, clearly focused on my bulge and washboard abs that looked like cut granite.

I surfed some forums in the internet and saw my fans commenting to impregnate them and asking if they can grate cheese on my abs. Even my hair wasn't spared, they were discussing how I keep it so fabulous. Bitch I use top end products just like my man Sephiroth, I need to do his hairdo justice after all. Damn, so this is what popular guys have to go through huh I now sincerely give my condolences to people like Henry Cavill and Chris Hemsworth.

Speaking of the internet, due to my boredom I tried to use my training in music to maybe earn some extra cash or something if some pd see it. I bought a grand piano and those aren't cheap, they have some aged violins here too that was carefully aged through environmental control, due to my impulsive desire to get a stradivarius like violin I bought a pair too. Hah, now I'm kinda running low in my account. Hence, trying to earn more kinda like a passing idea.

I remade some pieces from my past life, like Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven, and Mozart. It was instantly popular and I got a contract to sell it, I was anonymous of course as I am underaged. They still went with it because it was just too good of an opportunity. But one of the things I'd think that was important there is I made an internet friend named Eden. (Insert pic here).

It was just when I was starting to transcript some pieces. Then I thought to do easier ones 1st and made Dearly Beloved, now this one is a classic and has an emotional but calm melody. I started with the piano and violin solos before editing it to the original version. I then posted it in a website that amateur musicians frequent and discuss, kinda like discord or reddit. Then somebody hit me up, an amateur singer that was trying to make it big.

Eden Pov

"Hah, my current agency axed me again. I know I'm picky with my venues and all, but how will I become the best if all the places I perform in are mostly desolate areas. They keep curbing me to the side for the popular singers and musicians, of course they will." She heaved a heavy sigh slightly depressed, thinking that she might not just make it and do a 9-5 job forever as an office lady.

Deciding to take a break and look at forums to maybe find something new. She logged in then started scrolling. At one of the threads in the composer forum she saw a highly rated piece. She listened to it and there it was. A simple piece, slow and smooth. She thought, then after 20 so seconds, the calm melody of the piano accompanied by the string instruments hit her. It sounded like soft waves on the shore, played with such musicality and good intonation. The piece simply gives you calm, but invokes such a strong emotion as if reminiscing the good times.

As she listened to it, she thought of her dream. Why give in now when she was already deep? She silently made a conviction that she'll be the best there ever was (Pokemon! Cough) As the music washes over her like warm summer winds.

After listening to it. She quickly sent the composer a message, thanking them for such a beautiful piece. Saying that as an aspiring artist herself it gave her inspiration to keep on trying because the music reminded her how her dream came to be.

She then smiles as her resolve and motivation has been restored. "Now, how will I make it big without an agency?" She brainstormed.

Back to Ein

Oya, I received a message already? I hope it's an agency or company or something. As he opened the message, he saw it was someone named Eden. Slightly disappointed that it wasn't a producer, he then opened it.

"Hi! Thank you for this beautiful piece that you've created. I'm just an amateur that was quickly losing some motivation. Because of your music, it quickly reminded me of what my dream is. Again thank you, I wish you become successful as well." Eden.

Quickly reading the message, his disappointment vanished. "Hah, now this do puts a smile on my face." He smiled as he thought that it's good this young lady found her path to her dreams again.

He typed a message for her as well. "Hey Eden! My name is Einheri, Thanks for the message. I'm glad that my music inspired you, are you a musician as well? I hope you do become successful too. Maybe I can help? I'm quite good after all as you know haha."

Eden heard a pop up sound and was surprised that the composer replied almost immediately. She read it and she was touched, the last part was a little too smug though. She replied quickly typing away

"Thank you for your kind words Einheri. I mainly do songs, about your help. Maybe we can brainstorm some ways I can get popular? I think that's where I struggle even though I'm good."

Ein: "Well, that is quite the predicament. How good are you at singing though? Sometimes even you're excellent at what you do it just doesn't click."

Eden: "How about I send you some of my songs? The reason maybe I'm not popular is because I've only played at pretty desolate venues with minimal people?" She quickly sent a voice clip.

Ein: He listened to it and was stunned. "Isn't she too good? Damn, her voice is heavenly."

he replied "Ain't this very good already? But I think the reason you're not popular is because of course you're a newbie and your past agency didn't endorse you enough. So even though you might be talked about by the people who saw your performance, and talk to it about their friends, your popularity will take too long to explode until a popular critic or something notices you."

I quickly think about ways, the internet is connected to everyone. How about we take advantage of that? I thought.

Ein: "Eden, take advantage of the populace. I think you should maybe do street performances and let them do the work for you. Your voice is divine, and I think people will record you and it will spread on the internet like wild fire. Unlike if you just post it yourself."

Eden: "Hm, that's a good idea Einheri! I'll let you know if I'm successful!"

Ein: "Umu, I'm glad to be of service. Hey, how about we collab for a bit? I want to make a song but I need female vocals, you'll be the perfect singer I want."

Eden: "Sure! I think with both of us collabing we'd get double the views for sure. Send me the lyrics and the music when you're ready ok? Thanks again for your help."

Ein: "No prob. I'll make it 1st, now that I have a singer, I can proceed. Good luck!"

I then quickly make the melody for a song that I particularly liked back then, it was called See You in the Next World.

Eden quickly planned a performance in a crowded street in Nagazora and with her heavenly voice, she was a showstopper. People crowded her and some even took videos. She then quickly went home and waited. As the hours go by, she was getting quite antsy, but the people delivered. In social media her performance that was posted and shared by a lot of people exploded. Quickly making her popular and the populace thought when and where she will be performing next.

She contacted Ein and was clearly excited, as she spoke on the phone, just like a puppy.

Eden: "Einheri! I saw it! People were all over the video that was posted and now they're all thinking when I will perform again!" She said, quite giddy.

Ein: "Umu, I told you. Good for you, about our collab though. I already finished with the music, let's meet up and record at a studio. I'll rent one."

Eden: "Un, this will be a high quality song huh? Send me the lyrics and I'll practice 1st then let's record."

Ein: "Good, good. Oh, how about we make a music video too? I have a very nice camera. We're going to make you a star! It's perfect timing too, It's winter now and the ambience will fit just righhht."

Eden giggled "What are you waiting for? Send me the files already!"

We quickly talked about the specifics and agreed to meet a few weeks later, she'll try to ramp up her popularity with her street perfomances 1st so she can get noticed by big time agencies.

A few weeks passed by and the city was blanketed white with the pure snow, as I waited in a coffee shop for Eden.

The door's bell rung and a beauty with velvet hair with deep golden eyes entered. She quickly looked around and waited for someone to call to her. She doesn't know how Ein looks after all.

Ein: I took a look at the girl that entered and I was quite taken by how beautiful she is. Especially her deep golden eyes that you can sink in. I quickly raised my hand and waved at her after looking her for a bit. "Eden! Over here."

Eden then looked at me and she was quite surprised. She then walked to me and took a seat. "Einheri? Is that really you?" Quite suspicious.

Ein: "Why? Quite surprised on how I look?" I chuckled "I'm quite handsome no? Don't worry, when I saw you enter I was quite star-struck as well when I saw you. I didn't know that you'll look so much better in person." I gave her a smile, flirting for a bit.

Eden blushed "Thanks, and you sure are handsome. Too pretty in fact, you might just steal my fans if you showed yourself." She counters back.

"Hahaha, you're goddamned right!" I said smugly "Now, how about we drink a cup of coffee first to warm up, then we'll hit the studio?"

Eden: "Haha, you're quite smug aren't cha. Sure, it is quite cold outside."

Ein: "Oh by the way, only the scenes where you show up and sing in the MV is missing. I took some videos already, take a look if you think it's satisfactory."

Eden: "You work fast huh? Efficient and good at what you do. You're quite the charmer ain't you." She smiled.

Ein: "Only for things I'm interested in." I grin at her and flirted back.

We took a cab to get to the studio and we talked a bit.

Eden: "Hey Einheri, how old are you? You told me you were in school, you in college?"

Ein: "Hohooo? Asking for my age, aren't you quite rude? I teased her "Well, I'm a 1st year so I'm 14. And no, I'm not in college I study at senba high. Oh, call me Ein too." Saying the obvious.

Eden: "No way! You look like an adult already! Don't you look too mature? You're huge too. How tall are you? 6'0 something?" She exclaimed, quite surprised.

Ein: "Yeah, I'm 6'1 right now. Ain't it fine that I look mature? Makes me more handsome after all that will charm the ladies, just like you." I smirked at her "How about you? Where do you study?"

Eden: She blushed remembering her stare at the coffee shop. "I'm quite far from Senba, it's like a 30 minute drive away. But that's not important, I'm a 3rd year right now, that's why I was quite worried of not achieving my dream."

Ein: "Oh, so you're 16? You're still young you know, even without my help, I'm absolutely sure you're going to succeed. You have a heavenly voice after all." I winked at her.

Eden gave a wide smile "Still, thank you for helping me Ein. I was in a slump, my agency axed me because I'm picky and they thought I was too egoistical because I had a good voice."

Ein: "You're welcome, I'm happy to help a pretty lady. Oh, by the way, speaking of your good voice, how about we make a nickname for you?" I ponder for a bit and it hit me "How about The Voice of Heaven?" Quite flashy, and the best part is, it's not exaggerated at all no?"

Eden thought about it for a bit. Then she blushed from his compliment "Thank you for thinking that my voice is divine. I think it's good! People will surely search for me more if my alias is so grand." She nodded sagely.

We then arrived at the studio and we recorded the song, it only took a couple of takes and I told Eden that I'll send her the complete one when I finish editing it.

In a span of a few days we also filmed for the music video and it came out very nice. Eden is beautiful after all. The snow contrasts with her golden eyes too making her stand out. The best one though was at sunset where she then looked at the camera illuminated by soft light that made her shine. (like in her picture)

I sent her the completed song and we posted the MV too in social media, with her now new moniker she was the new craze. Saying that her voice truly is divine.

As I look at our views sky rocketing like inflation in Zimbabwe. (they have a 100 trillion bill due to inflation lmao) I received a call from my parents.

"Hey, mom how are you doing? Checking up on me again?"

"I just missed you honey, how about you come home for a bit at break and bring your friends too."

"Hm, that's a good idea mom. I miss you too, I'll talk to them and see if I can bring them there."

"Ohh, I gotta talk about this with your dad. I'm sure he'll be delighted." With excitement in her voice. "Be careful there though, all of you. Honkai beasts have been appearing near Nagazora after all."

"It's just a couple of seraph class mom, even the city guards can take care of them. Thank you for worrying though I love you. Tell dad I said hi too, bye."

Heya! Eden has been introduced. She's quite the stunner too. Just a little bit more and we'll be going down in the deep.

Chapter 16: The Storm...

2 years have passed. My group of friends have been doing their own thing. Su has been going to the hospital, trying to research more on honkai energy and how to cure it. Mei was actually invited to give a presentation as a speaker about quantum mechanics, we were proud of her and she simply dismissed it, saying that it just takes hard work, true. But 16 year olds don't just do that, even with hard work. As for me, I've also been invited to another convention concerning biology and genetics. I gave a presentation about Crispr (gene editing) for humans so we can be perfect as a human race, physically that is.

(Humans will always be flawed IMO)

I've also been going on dates with Eden, she calls it hanging out though, I chuckle in my thoughts. But she definitely has feelings for me, I'm not as dumb as a brick like Ichika. Even though that bastard pretends to be dense, that's still idiotic as all hell. Either pick one or go all or nothing. Eden is a great girl, I think I'll wait for a bit more. Ein: I glared at her with my piercing eyes and she instantly shuts up and freezes. "My family actually partially own this establishment, girl. The very ground you stand on is our property, so I am minding my business. So shut up if you know what's good for you. Do you understand?" I stared at her

"Y-yes sir I understand, sorry for shouting." She looks down.

"Good! Now, what's your name? I saw your fight and you've sprained your right ankle didn't you?"

"What? How did you notice that? The match was pretty even so only experts will notice that."

"Simple, I'm an expert. I'm Einheri, you can call me Ein, let's go and get you fixed up. My friend is an aspiring doctor and he's got experience at a hospital. Let's get some supplies 1st."

"Okay. My name is HIMEKO by the way. Thanks."

"No problem Hime-chan." I smile at her. Now that I got a good look on her, she has yellow-orange eyes with long straight hair that's deep red in color. (pic here and in comments)

Himeko: "Hime chan?" She looked at me flabbergasted.

Ein: "Umu, it's your name is it not? You look the part too, so let's patch your hands up so it won't scar okay?

Himeko: "Un. Thanks."

Ein: "Why did you want to win so much anyway Hime-chan?" I genuinely asked.

Himeko: "Well, I'm about to graduate in a couple of months and this is my last chance to be scouted as a pro."

Ein: "Admirable, so you want to be a professional fighter? Do you want to be the best fighter or something?

Himeko: "To... Have a stable life honestly. I'm only good at martial arts and fighting. I don't think I can stand an office job."

Ein: "Ahhh, a simple goal so you can live a nice relaxing life with your earnings. I think that's a pretty nice goal in life."

Himeko: "Really? You don't think it's too shallow and I'm just in it for the money?" She looked at me wide eyed.

Ein: "Of course. I'm filthy fucking rich. I understand what it means to relax and have everything you need with a simple snap of your fingers. I think you're just too focused on trying to have a nice life so you can't dream bigger. I quite like your thinking, focus on what you can feasibly do 1st. Then maybe go aim higher or just maintain the status quo."

Himeko looked at empty space for a bit and just smiled at me. "You know, nobody ever believed in me like that. They just thought that with my skills why not aim higher and be renowned."

Ein: "Well, that's just how people are. Sometimes they understand you, but most of the time they don't. Well how about I give you a choice you can't refuse? Work for me as a guard when we graduate and I'll polish you up to be a perfect bodyguard. You'll get good pay. And I'm gonna have a friend that works as a sparring partner by my side when work gets too boring. You can focus on some more skills and hobbies too while you're at it, win win, no?

Himeko thinks hard on it for a minute as I gather supplies. "I think I'll wait a bit more before I accept your offer, I don't quite know you yet after all and if I'm going to be with you pretty much all the time, I sure as hell don't want an ass for a boss!" She smiles at me.

Ein: "Good, now I like you much better. Friends?"

Himeko: "Yeah, friends."

We returned at our private room and I blasted the door open. "Su! We have an approximately 16 y/o female needing medical attention with possible broken phalanges and a severely damaged astralagus joint on the right foot! A&O x 3 I need you Stat!"

They all scrambled and Su seriously listened to my case presentation. Then they saw a slightly limping red head that just looks like she had a sprain.

Su: "Damn you Ein, I almost had a heart attack." He then looked at Himeko and quickly assessed her. "She just hit a wall and scraped her knuckles didn't she? with a sprain on the right ankle?" He deadpans at me.

"Hahaha you're god damned right, now fix her up please. I'm too lazy, she's Himeko by the way." Then they introduced themselves one by one. But Himeko froze as she saw Eden.

Ein: "Hah, Eden give me an autographed photo please." I rummaged my bag again for another copy just like Elysia's then I signed at its cover then gave it to Himeko. "Here, watch and listen to this. You're welcome."

Su then quickly patched her up.

Eden: "So, Ein, why did you bring her here anyway? You could've patched her up by yourself." She raised a brow thinking that now 2 incredibly beautiful girls are near him.

Ein: "Well, with my power of friendship. I've cheered her up from her loss and now I introduce her to the gang.

They all stare at me like I grew a 2nd head.

"Anyways, Kevin's match is coming up let's watch him win because Eden gave him a power up, now he's filled with the hope of his friends." They ignored me as we wave goodbye to Kevin and wished him good luck.

Of course he didn't need it as he won it all and set a world record. We threw a small party, with Himeko joining as well.

A few months have gone by and we're about to graduate in a few weeks, Me and Eden toured Elysia in Nagazora, hanging out and having fun. I have a lingering feeling that Eden analyzes Elysia too much. Especially when I started calling her Ellie. As for Himeko, we met up from time to time, we spar and I polish her skills. Then we just play around, at one of our outings she really liked arcades and bowling. She even tried to get a plushy from a crane game that she thought was cute, a bootleg pikachu. I got it in a few tries of course once I calculated the grip strength of the crane and how wobbly it is. I got it on its tag, she was amazed and excited ending our little get together on a happy note.

I'm making calls so we can all get together and throw a party for graduation. As I was dialing a number, my phone suddenly died and I got a headache. Huh? That was weird, I swear my phone at least had a few hours left. Then I noticed that my apartment has no electricity, a blackout? That's very rare here. Very, very rare. I quickly got up and go to Su and Kevin.

"Hey! Kevin, Su. You guys okay?"

Kevin: "Yeah, A-okay. It's pretty weird though, blackouts are extremely rare nowadays. Especially on a big city like Nagazora."

Su: "Yup, just fine. Kevin's right maybe we should look for Mei? She's probably in her dorm room holding a flashlight still trying to read." He joked.

We then quickly found Mei and she was trying to use a flashlight. But it didn't open, even with new batteries. My brain quickly went to overdrive as I suspect something bad's going to happen. This might be an EMP attack and terrorists might attack the city.

Ein: "Guys, just stay together here for now and close the doors. Prepare to evacuate in case of emergency okay? I'm going to find Eden. She's with Himeko and Elysia right now, saying they'll have a girls night.

I quickly bolted out of there and ran, Fully electric cars have crashed all over the city and only a few fuel engine ones are still operable I quickly observed. I arrived in 5 minutes because it was near and I'm using the distraction to run faster.

"Eden! Elysia! Himeko! You guys here!?"

They then opened the door

Eden: "Were you worried Ein? We saw a lot of cars crash after the blackout."

Ein: "There was an EMP attack, I don't know the situation right now. Come with me girls, Senba is close and everyone is there, it has a lot of exits as well so we can evacuate quickly if something happens." The girls quickly agreed and we arrived shortly after.

"Okay guys we're nice and safe here at the dorms and let's just wait for more information first. Or until the power comes back on."

And as I said that, during a sunny day in Nagazora an explosion happened and the skies darken almost instantly. Lightning rained down all over the city, panic and havoc quickly overtook the populace. There was no information coming in and out at the city. And when it all seemingly gets worse, A huge serpent with a black shell and green highlights rampaged, accompanied by a four armed titanic honkai beast that destroyed every building in its wake, with the roar of a deafening thunder clap.

The 3rd Honkai erruption's epicenter. Was Nagazora.

Wowie, this is a pretty big chapter I would say, thank you everyone for reading. The story will now go on an unstoppable roll.

Chapter 17: Scattered

When the I heard the unnatural claps of thunder, the only conclusion would be a honkai beast attack. But emperor and judgement class only appears with the birth of a herrscher.

I quickly paled at the realization "Fuck! There's a honkai eruption here at Nagazora! Quickly, we must evacuate outside of the city! The government will be unloading some serious shit here after they know there's a herrscher here." I exclaimed as I get them out of their daze so we could evacuate.

As I opened the door, there was a suspicious man that was about to knock. I analyzed him quickly but I saw that he has an insignia of Fire moth. "You here for Mei or me?" I quickly realized that he was there to protect me or Mei so Fire moth can recruit either of us.

"Both, I see that you have some others with you." He quickly looked at our group. "No matter, we must evacuate quickly." He succinctly said and turned away to lead us.

Ein: "Come on let's go. This guy will help us get to a vehicle for evac. The city will be engulfed in hell fire, we must go!" We then followed him.

We arrived underground in a bunker with fortified walls. Must've protected our vehicle from the EMP, thank god. We then saw a VTOL and we boarded. "There will be no stops. we are going to a nearby base for further transport." Mei then quickly realized that her parents are still in the city. As she tried to argue, I nod at the man. He quickly shot her with sedatives. Kevin was going to raise a fuss but I quickly reprimanded him. "Kevin. The city is gonna get overrun almost immediately. There's no information coming from outside and inside the city." I shake my head.

Kevin grits his teeth and he knew that it was pointless. Doesn't make it hard though. Elysia then exclaimed while looking at the window "Guys! Look. This is awful." As we looked outside, hordes of seraph class honkai beasts accompanied by some templar class are flying around the city, ravaging everything in sight.

Everyone went quiet as we flew away. Letting us see Nagazora for the last time as it was being ravaged by hordes of honkai beasts. Making the mood inside quite somber. We're not too far out yet so I quickly scanned the vehicle for something useful in case of emergency. "Hey, you must have some equipment here in case of emergency right?" I asked the man driving.

"There's some simple honkai powered blasters and cold weapons at this compartment." He pushed a button and some rifles appeared, a one handed sword, spear, and broadsword. "This will be enough. Hey guys, pick up a rifle, I'll be using the melee weapons." I then strapped the broadsword on my back, and carried the spear and short-sword on my hands.

Then as I was thinking of a plan further out. The VTOL shook like a mother fucker. We were spiralling out of control and then the vehicle crashed on the ground. "Damn, you guys alright?" I was unharmed and quick on my feet. Thankfully, everybody is alright. It was a pretty solid vehicle.

Then we heard thuds outside. As we quickly got out of the thrashed aircraft, we saw a 3 meter tall white honkai beast with pink highlights, glowing like veins. It was menacing, as it had a bone white lance on its right and a huge tower shield on its left. (pic here)

My pupils dilated, my heart was pumping to the max, my muscles twitched and bulged, engorged with blood as I quickly think of what to do. The agent was injured and his leg got injured, basically crossing him out of this inevitable fight. I managed to see a humvee with what I recognized was powered with a diesel engine. "KEVIN, SU! Carry Mei and the agent quickly! Himeko knows how to hotwire and drive! Go to that humvee and get to the base!"

I then tensed and held my spear, putting the other 2 weapons in my inventory. I then tensed my leg and dashed with so much force the concrete underneath cracked. I arrived in a split second and stabbed towards its lone glowing eye thingy. But it quickly raised its kite shield and I only dented its shield.

Hard! I then quickly sidestepped a stab from its lance. The ground near the impact almost exploded from the force. "I can't parry or block anything from this guy, my weapons will break then I'll be sent flying." I then saw my group still looking at me with wide eyes and mouth agape.

"What the fuck are you guys looking at! Go!" As I evaded a deceptively quick charge and it decimated the wall behind me like wet tissue paper.

Kevin: "We won't go without you! We can give fire support!"

Himeko punched Kevin on the face "Dumbass! What if it then targets us? Believe in Ein, we must go!" She then pulled Elysia and Eden with her to the car.

Eden tried to slip out but Elysia slapped her. "You have to believe in him, or we will all die here. Can't you see? He can handle it. We will see him again."

As the templar faced Ein again he quickly tried to stab what he assumed was a joint on its legs. The blow struck true and he back stepped immediately, analyzing if it reduces its mobility. It didn't as it started to float and quickly flew and tried to skewer him. He rolled to the side, evading its lance. "Of course it can fly."

The beast was relentless, trying to turn him into paste so it can dispose his companions as they are now just a small dot in the horizon.

"Damn, I'm not even sure if cutting off its head or attacking the obvious weak spot will kill it."

He then stabbed its left shoulder to try and disable the shield. It can't move its shield anymore but it was still held in front of it.

"I need to bait it to show its back." He backed off and waited in front of a wall. It charged at the seemingly trapped human thrusting its lance. Avoiding the attack, Ein side stepped with his strong legs and with the small window of opportunity, using inhuman speed, quickly swapped his spear for the broadsword. He slashed at its thin waist with all his might and it got sliced in half.

Quickly swinging again from a diagonal, he sliced off its lance arm. He swapped with the spear again and backed off, waiting to see if its still alive. It turned towards him with its glowing singular eye. He was having none of it as he quickly threw the spear like a javelin, piercing its small head and then, it lost its glow. He went to its blind side and slashed with his broadsword another time, splitting its torso

"Don't want to leave this thing alive, might just come back to bite me in the ass." He then stored it in his inventory, signifying its death.

"Hah, Good thing I that VTOL have weapons, or I would need to steer this thing away from the group. And running around with a honkai beast on my tail is not a good idea."

He hid in a building quickly, deciding where he would go to next. As he was thinking, he saw a swarm of seraph class honkai beasts flying to somewhere.

"There's not a soul here in this area. Maybe they're migrating to another populated area."

He was about to dismiss it but he saw where they were flying to.

"They're going to my old city." He gasped and his blood ran cold. "Nearby cities are just starting to know the eruption! These fuckers will arrive quickly because they're flying!"

He then exited the building quickly and ran like the wind, following the honkai beasts to his home city.

Thanks for reading guys! I used the templar that are the size like in will of the honkai. Those guys are actual beasts after all, normally they stand 4 stories high. It sent a valkyrie flying like a bullet through multiple buildings with a single strike and shockwaves from its lance can decimate nearby buildings.

Chapter 18: Lament

As Ein ran like his life depended on it, he arrived at Changkong city and the city was being attacked by tons of honkai beast. Buildings were burning, everyone is trying to run away from the beasts and zombies that are trying to kill everything that moves.

"Shit! The energy levels are already high enough to convert people. They must be inside our basement, it's past 7 right now and they should be at home." He quickly moved towards alleys and blind spots so nothing will attack and distract him.

He arrived at their house that was partially destoyed and there were multiple seraph class lingering in the area. "I can't search with all these pesky flies on our house." He took out his spear and quickly leaped on one of the unsuspecting beasts, skewering it on the middle instantly killing it as he stored its body so it won't become an obstacle.

The others quickly saw him and started flying towards him. Trying to ram him with 200km/h speeds. He used their momentum to stab them while dodging the others. With their simple intelligence, they just charged with reckless abandon which he capitalized on and made quick work of the rest.

Ein instantly went to the house after surveying his surroundings first. "Mom! Dad! Are you guys here!?" He frantically shouted and searched for a sign of his parents. With no answer, he started going to the basement. He saw the steel door and banged on it. "Mom! Dad! It's me! Open up, I took care of the seraphs up above the house."

He waited for a moment and then he saw his parents open the door. "Son! How did you get here!? You should've evacuated when you were in Nagazora." Eric exclaimed. "Ein, why did you even bother coming here!? You should've went to a fortified base, while you were travelling you could've been attacked!" Frey added.

Ein hugged his parents then quickly looked for injuries, they were fine, just a few scratches he thought. "No time for questions! Come on, let's go to the nearest Fire moth base." They quickly went to the fortunately undamaged garage and Ein stored 2 cars for assurance. "We'll go drive at the outskirts, there are too many honkai beasts and abandoned/destroyed cars on the road.

Frey and Eric were surprised but agreed with him as they quickly tried to go to a usable road. Thankfully, they didn't try to pry and understood the emergency of the situation. Stealthily navigating the streets, Ein using his senses to avoid honkai beasts. They arrived at a large road without hostiles in sight and it was relatively empty.

Ein took out the car and they quickly boarded, Eric driving as there is a silence inside the vehicle.

Frey: "Sweetie, are you okay? How did you took care of those seraphs at our house?"

Ein: "We were being escorted by a Fire moth agent and in his vehicle there was a couple of honkai energy weapons. A templar attacked us though while we were airborne and my group had to escape without me." Deciding not to tell them he fought the said attacker so they won't worry.

Eric: "At least you're safe son, now, we should get to a nearby base in about an hour. Just sit tight and we should get evacuated to a base that's more secure and far."

Ein then kept his eyes peeled, looking for any honkai beasts that might attack and blind side them.

They drove quietly for 30 minutes and as Ein started to relax a bit, he saw his mother frown deeply, with large amounts of sweat coming down from her brow.

Ein: "Mom? Why are you sweating like a waterfall?" He then checked on her and noticed that she was unusually pale." She then opened her eyes and looked at him, her eyes slowly turning yellow, her green orbs starting to lose its verdant color.

"No. No, no, no, no, no, no!!!" He shouted frantically as he rolled her sleeves up and the collar of her sweater down. There were black lines and white spots on her once healthy fair skin. Signs of honkai corruption.

Frey: "I didn't think it would be this quick." She solemnly said.

The car stopped on the side and Eric looked at the back, his symptoms much worse.

Eric: "I can't drive anymore too, I'm getting numb. Hah, I guess all our time with honkai energy research has taken a toll on us more than we think huh Frey?" He gave a small chuckle.

Frey: "My sweet baby boy, Ein. Go to the base quickly, we'll turn to drones any minute now sweetie." She gave the sweetest smile that's only on par when she saw him for the first time.

"No! Fire moth must have something!? They can slow down the corruption and stabilize you until I research for a cure!" He rationalized, as his brain automatically ignores the inevitable to protect his psyche.

"I'm much faster than this car! I'll carry you guys, we can make it! Come on, let's go!" He was about to kick the door open as a hand firmly gripped his shoulder.

Frey looked at him dead in the eyes "Ein, please son. Go, go now before we lose our minds and try to attack you. We don't want our last moments together to be like that now would we?" Her voice hoarse, enduring immeasurable pain.

Eric: "Ein, you know that we love you right? Can you do us a favor my little man. Kill us, please. We don't want to be dead zombies that roam around endlessly." He said with steel in his voice.

Frey: "Give us rest honey. I'm too fabulous to be a zombie you see?" She smiled at him.

They then gave him a hug with the most strength that they can.

Eric: "We love you son, and we're sorry."

Frey: "I love you honey, more than anything in the world! Give me lots of grandbabies okay? They will be so cute just like you!"

I grit my teeth as tears started to fall from my eyes. I know that they're too far gone. I know that everything I do will be fruitless. But why so suddenly!

With a shaky voice I told them "I love you too, mom, dad. I'll be giving you guys a lot grandkids to spoil I'm sure."

Eric: "Thank you son. Live happily and be the special individual me and your mom always thought of you even since you were just born."

Frey: "Always, brush your teeth, don't be picky with food, bathe regularly and keep warm. Treasure your friends because they'll be your trusted support, and don't let hussies go near you okay!? Keep on being kind and thoughtful like you always have been. I wish I could've seen you shine like you're supposed to and give me grandkids to spoil. I love you.

They then closed their eyes with a smile and a content look on their face. I clench my teeth so hard it was as if they'd break. I took a knife from my inventory and silently prepared. "Mom, dad. I promise I'll live on. I love you." As I stabbed through the back of their heads, destroying their brain stem and hypothalamus. They went limp as I hugged their bodies.

Ein shed tears as he silently mourned for his parents.

Chapter 19: Soldier On

I cleaned up their bodies a I stored them to give them a proper burial later. They don't deserve to have nameless graves out here. I then drove slowly to the base as I think particularly of nothing.

Eden and the group are silent. Just riding on the plane they're on quietly as various thoughts stew in their mind. What's gonna happen now? How about the other civilians? Most importantly, what situation Ein is in right now.

As the deafening silence continues, Mei is now starting to gain consciousness.

Kevin: "Mei! Are you okay!?" He asked, concerned.

Mei: "Ugh, what happened. I remembered that we were evacuating, then nothing." She shook her head to rid of her grogginess, frowning from the headache. She took a look around her and saw Kevin, Su, Elysia, Himeko, and Eden.

"Wait a minute, where's Ein!?" The gears in her head started to turn quickly.

Himeko: "While we were in the VTOL, a honkai beast attacked us and we crashed on the ground. It was a templar." She then became silent as she didn't want to continue.

Elysia: "Ein then used a spear the Fire moth agent had and he fought it. He was like a blur, we then saw a gas powered car and he told us to drive away to safety..." She slowly got quieter towards the end.

Mei: "Then where is he!? He didn't." Mei gasped as her eyes widen like saucers.

Eden: "He's gotta be okay right? I know he is, he's the most amazing person I've seen. He'll come and see us I'm sure." She quickly reasoned, anxiety clear on her body as she twitches constantly and can't calm down.

Elysia: "Yeah! He went ka-pow and he dodged like a pro when it attacked like woosh. He'll be okay, we got to believe.

Kevin: "That guy's too amazing. He'll probably be there on the base already."

Su: "I agree, just on what we saw back there he got that in the bag."

Himeko: "He is honestly inhuman, I've sparred with him a lot. I think he'll take that honkai beast down and is tracking us down by now."

The teenagers relaxed a bit as they quickly arrived on a base in Shenzou (China in honkai)

They then were escorted to their quarters to rest in the meantime.

As Mei was trying to rest for a bit due to the immense stress she experienced today, she heard a knock on her door. As she opened the door she saw a petite young woman with shoulder length green hair and green eyes with pink undertones.

???: "Ms. Mei? Am I correct." She asked.

Mei: "Um, that's right, may I know who you are?"

???: "Sorry, my name is Klein. May you please accompany me? We have an important conversation to discuss concerning your future from here on out." She said in a monotone voice. (Insert pic here)

Mei: "Righhhht, do go on." She said, quite suspicious

They walked for a few minutes as Klein knocked on the door.

"Professor, I've brought Ms. Mei as you've instructed." They waited a bit as the door opened.

???: "Where's Einheri Klein? He was supposed to be with them, is he not?" She said with slight irritation."

Klein: "Dr. Mobius, Einheri was not with them when they arrived. The agent tasked to transport them here has said that they were attacked by a templar. To let them escape, he fought it in cqc, wielding a honkai energy weapon."

Mobius: "What!? Let the nearby bases on the site he was last seen in go search for him ASAP! He must be found immediately! Dead or alive." She said with steel in her voice. (insert pic)

Klein: "Yes professor." As she left the room, leaving Mei with Mobius.

Mei: "Uhh, can you now please tell me what is the important discussion we must have?" She observed the young woman. She had long, thick, shaggy green hair with a buxom figure. She was wearing a green shirt with a lab coat.

Mobius then looked at Mei with a gleam in her eyes as she analyzed her from head to toe.

"Ahhh, Mei. One of the most brilliant minds of our time. I've seen your presentation about quantum mechanics you see? With your intellect, I believe you can be a great asset within our ranks. With your knowledge and specialty, we can possibly use honkai energy to new heights! How about it? Would you like to work as a researcher here in Fire moth?"

Mei pondered for a bit while listening to this suspicious woman. She just got a bad feeling from her. But she quickly shook her head and decided. "Yes, I've wanted to work here in Fire moth with Ein ever since we were kids. If you think I can contribute a lot, I'll be a researcher for Fire moth."

Mobius: "Goooood, you'll be a junior researcher for now. Rest for now and we'll begin your research and work later. I have work to do, leave." She said without a chance for further questions.

Mei returned to her quarters and she found Kevin waiting for her. "Kevin, why are you here? Do you need anything?"

Kevin: "I'm just a bit anxious you know, I can't rest peacefully while Ein is out there while we don't know what happened to him."

Mei: "He's being searched by MOTH kevin, he'll be found eventually. Speaking of that, I'm now a researcher here in MOTH."

Kevin: "Really!? That's great! You've finally achieved your dream. While I don't know if I can even reach mine now." He said with a somber tone.

Mei: "It's alright Kevin, I know you'll find something that's just as important."

Kevin: "We were actually informed earlier that we'll be transported to another city. We can't stay here after all, not when we don't work here."

Mei: "Oh, how about the others? What will they do."

Kevin: "It's still for a few more days until they've dealt with the honkai eruption, we're still thinking."

Mei: "In the meantime, let's wait for Ein to arrive. I'm sure MOTH will find him. Let's let the others know, especially Eden. She's the most affected by what happened."

Chapter 20: Decisions

I drove to the nearest MOTH base, as I was nearing to it some guards stopped me.

"Halt, let us check you 1st. Then we'll transport you to another city."

They then checked me of any honkai corruption, injuries, etc. As they confirmed my identity one of them asked. "Mr. Einheri is that correct? Please follow us to Shenzou (honkai china), we had orders to lead you there."

"Alright, let's go then." As I expected, they're waiting for me. We then boarded a plane that's going to a MOTH base there. "Hey, do you guys have any phones or computers I can use? I need to contact someone."

They quickly gave me a laptop. I need to contact the others and tell them I'm okay, especially Eden. "Hey guys, I'm alive and well. I'm currently en route to Shenzou. Let's meet up later if you guys are there as well."

I then slumped on my chair, thinking of resting for a few hours while on the flight. I quickly lose consciousness as the stress of fighting and moving around caught up to me. I'm quite exhausted mentally as well.

One of the agents then made a call "Dr. Mobius, we are currently in a plane to Shenzou. The VIP Einheri is secured."

Mobius: "Excellent! Lead him to my private quarters when you arrive at the base. Tell him we have an important discussion to be had. Understood?"

Agent: "Yes ma'am!"

I woke up to the vibrations of our landing, "Ugh, so we've arrived." I shake my head to lose my drowsiness. We quickly boarded a car and I silently waited until we arrive.

In the distance I saw a heavily fortified base. "Pheeeew, that's a huge base. So? What's next? I imagine someone wants to talk to me no?"

Agent: "Yes sir, follow me please. You have an important discussion with them, they informed us."

Ein: "Lead the way gentlemen.".

We walked for a few minutes until we reached a door. The agents then quickly left me, a bit frantic. "Huh, that's interesting. The person in here must be important and scary for them to scuttle away like that."

I opened the door and it was dark, I saw a woman that was in front of a computer. "How many times do I have to tell you Klein. You can't get a vacation until we finish this part of our project!" She shouted.

After shouting, she faced towards me and was quite surprised. It was quickly gone though, as she scrutinized me from head to toe with a glint in her eyes while licking her lips.

This woman is either a horn dog or a bit crazy I thought. "So, you wanted to talk to me? I'm Einheri. Call me Ein, you must want me to be a researcher in MOTH or something don't you?"

Mobius: "Yes, that's right. I'm Dr. Mobius, quick on the uptake aren't you? I like that, I believe that you'll be a great asset for MOTH. I saw your presentation about editing our genomes to become perfect!" She said with a certain madness on her face. "Quite impressive I must say."

Yup this woman is a little bit crazy. "Thank you, so I'll be working under you correct? Then I have a condition before being a researcher here."

Mobius raised a brow "What is it? Speak."

Ein: "I want to be a soldier too." I need to fight stronger honkai beasts, and me just being cooped up here will make me rusty. Swinging at air and dummies don't exactly make you improve.

Mobius: "What!? No! Even if you fought that templar for a bit, that doesn't mean you can take on honkai beasts. You'll be a researcher and will stay here!"

Ein: "I understand, nobody saw me fight it extensively after all. But I killed it you know? I didn't just distract it and escaped." I shrug.

Mobius: "Are you right on the head? Those things can decimate whole squads of soldiers with honkai energy weapons, in the report, you fought it with cold weaponry."

Ein: "Well how about I show you?" Mobius is one of those mad scientist types for sure. If I show her my inventory and prowess, she'll definitely keep it to herself. Hah, ironic that the ones that are a bit crazy can be more trustworthy. I mean, it's because I'm too valuable and mysterious but you get the point.

Mobius frowned "Well, show me then? I don't see its corpse or footage of you fighting it."

I then took it out with a heavy thud on the floor, the templar still glowing.

Mobius froze as her analytic mind calculated answers for the supernatural phenomena. "Y-you have a pocket dimension that has temporal properties!?" She shouted, aghast.

Ein: "Simply, yes. Why? I don't know. I can just store and take out things."

Mobius: "Are you a pseudo herrscher or something?" She looked at me with scrutinizing eyes filled with interest.

Ein: "No, I don't have honkai energy after all now do I? As for how I killed it, how about we go somewhere deserted so I can show you?" (Wink)

We quickly departed and arrived to a training ground without people. Now for my stats, they've changed quite a bit.

-Capable of taking hits that will destroy walls sparingly.

-Capable of persevering through hours of intense movement and combat. Doesn't need to sleep for multiple days at a time without consequences.

Honkai energy resistance

-Tolerance type skill that can resist the effects of Honkai energy i.e. corruption, mutation, etc.

natural elements resistance

-tolerance type skill that resist stimuli i.e. heat, cold, toxins, chemical irritants, electricity, diseases, etc.

resist physical damage

-tolerance type skill that resist physical types of damage to the body. i.e. blunt force, slashing, piercing damage, etc.

neural signal acceleration

-enhancing type skill that lets neural pathways be more efficient and faster due to increase in synaptic activity, neurotransmitter production, dendritic spines for more neuron connections, and increase myelin in axons for faster electrical signals. Gives more calculating power to the brain and increase to reflexes.

Eidetic memory

-Mental type skill that can perfectly store any information in the brain with perfect recall

Metabolic Control

-Physical type skill that can control the metabolic processes of the body i.e. hunger, hormones, heart rate, healing, anabolism and catabolism, etc.

(Basic explanation on catabolism: muscles, sugars, and fat turn to energy. anabolism: protein, sugars, minerals turn to tissue, fat, bones.)

Enhanced body

-enhancing type skill that increases the body's durability, flexibility, senses, elasticity etc. Gives: harder and denser muscles, bones. flexible joints, elastic tendons, etc.

I told Mobius to set up some cameras that can measure speed. Some big chunks of metal as well.

"Well then professor let's test some of my prowess shall we?" I then quickly ran, cracking the concrete as I stepped hard. When I stopped I saw that my speed is currently 300km/h give or take. As for the metals, I lifted a chunk that's approximately a ton over my head.

"Well Mobius, impressive, no?" I looked at her and she was just staring at me, dazed.

Mobius: "How is that possible without augments!? I must know how your body works! Are you sure you're not some kind of honkai beast!?" She asked me frantically.

"Woah, those are questions for the 3rd date ma'am. You'll know eventually." I smirked at her.

Mobius: "Fine, but I'll know how you work. Science demands it." She ignored my teasing.

Ein: "Yes, yes. How is Mei by the way?"

Mobius: "She agreed of course. Go and meet your little group, I now have more things to work on because of you."

She left with her gathered data and I went to the gang. I knocked on Eden's door after I asked a bit on where it is. "Knock knock. You've got a delivery." There was a thud in the room, and with hurried steps it quickly opened.

Eden: "Ein!" She quickly hugged me and then grasped my face with her hands. "You got us worried sick mister! Don't do that again okay!?"

Ein: "Hah, I'll try. I took care of it didn't I? Don't you worry about me too much." I kissed her forehead.

Eden: "I'm gonna call everyone, stay here." She then ran like the wind.

I waited inside Eden's room for a bit as they suddenly busted in from outside.

Everyone: "Ein!" Elysia and Mei then hugged me.

Mei: "We were so anxious! I even woke up without you in the group. I'm glad you're okay." She said, teary eyed.

Elysia: "I know you could beat that scary thing. You went woosh as you fought it after all. You even let us escape without you."

Himeko slapped me on the back "Hahaha I knew you'd come on top. You're my teacher and boss after all."

Kevin: "I'm glad you're okay Ein, you gave us quite a scare back then."

Su: "Hah, you're quite reckless aren't you Ein?

I hugged Elysia and Mei back as I laughed "Don't worry, what's important is we're all safe." He then thought of his parents, showing a sad expression for a split second that was noticed by the sensitive Elysia.

"Good news guys, me and Mei are now researchers here in MOTH, how about you guys? What's your plan from here on out?"

They all sighed. Pondering for a bit, Himeko was the 1st to answer.

Himeko: "I think I'll sign up as a soldier, I need to be near my employer after all." She smiled at me.

Elysia: "Ooh, I'm pretty confident on my athleticism. I think I'll sign up too, Ein can polish me up to standard as well." (wink)

Su: "Hah, I asked if I can get in as a researcher as well. But, they refused. I don't have enough qualifications they said."

Ein: "That's okay Su, I think you should continue your research in a hospital for now. We'll help you with your findings too.

Su: "I guess, send me some of your papers about honkai energy okay? It will help a lot after all."

Kevin: "I'm not sure yet, but if I don't make a decision I'll be separated from Mei and most of you guys. With my martial arts training with Ein back then I think I'm qualified to become a soldier too."

Eden: "I'll still perform around the world. I might only see Ein from time to time, but we can still talk online anyway. I think I'll help a lot of people with my performances, it'll give them some respite.

Ein: "Good decision Eden. How about you guys though, are you sure you want to be soldiers? This isn't fun and games you know."

Soldier trio: "Yeah, we've decided."

Elysia: "Train me lots Ein! Okay?"

Kevin: "Yeah, we need everything that we can use."

Himeko: "Take care of me Ein."

Ein: "Hah, you guys. I'll run you to the ground so you can fight well okay. Nobody's gonna be complacent."

"One more thing though... I'm back." I smiled at them.

Everyone: "Yeah, welcome back Ein."

Chapter 21: Buried Memories

After their reunion the group returned to their respective rooms. Ein noticed that Elysia was suspiciously quiet. Maybe planning to tease someone or something he thought.

Ein then received a message that he should go to Mobius for something important. "Hm, maybe she'd like to make some more specific tests." As he walked for a few minutes to Mobius' lab.

Entering her lab, he saw him glued to her computer again while holding a clip board. "Dr. Mobius, you need me?" He tried to get her attention.

Mobius ignored him for a bit then slowly looked at him. "Ah yes, the one responsible for my current predicament. Have a seat Ein, we need to talk about Dr. Frey and Eric's current research results. I would like you to continue it as I think it would be beneficial for MOTH and our research about augmenting human bodies beyond limits."

Ein frowned for a second "Their research? I didn't really ask them on what they're working on so I don't know what it is. Can you tell me the gist of it?

Mobius nodded "They were trying to make nano machines that can absorb honkai energy and repurpose it. I.e. Weapons, cleansing the energy, etc. Basically an anti-honkai invention that can turn the tides of this war to our side.

Ein pondered for a bit "So this can help us clean honkai corruption from the surroundings and can also be used to create weapons that will give us an edge. But it's still incomplete no? I think Mei can help a lot with this as she has better insight in quantum mechanics. We have to unravel the mysteries of honkai energy first.

Mobius agreed "That's right. We've tried to analyze honkai energy for decades now but it just is too mysterious. All we can say is that the energy is alike to a higher form of energy that can induce certain phenomena and bend physics to its will."

Ein: "Maybe we should analyze the herrscher cores that the 1st and 2nd left behind? I think those are our key to success in finding something about how the honkai magically spawns constructs and do absurd things."

Mobius: "Good idea, we have also tried to make some experiments using the herrscher cores, but the honkai energy in them is too volatile. With you and Mei now in MOTH I believe we'll make significant progress on our future projects."

Ein: "You're putting a lot of pressure on the shoulders of 2 teenagers Dr. Mobius. I understand though, we have to do everything we can or we'll be wiped out before long."

Mobius: "Indeed, I'm expecting a lot from the both of you. Now, how about your projects Ein? I'm sure you have a reason on why you've focused a lot on genealogy."

Ein: "I'm sure you already know, I have plans on changing imperfections on the human genome. Augmenting it with possibly other dna so humans can become stronger and can live through harsh environments. The only problem is, of course there's a limit to that until humans don't necessarily look like one anymore and that won't cut it against herrschers or higher tiered honkai beasts."

Mobius nodded as she understands that a human even though perfect, will still only be a stronger human. "I've conducted tests about using honkai energy to make humans stronger and more durable. We've seen the effects on it on zombies after all, they gained superhuman strength and they mutate for better survival and defense."

Ein: "Though they die immediately don't they? How about dna of honkai beasts? Do you guys have samples? Why not use it to make test subjects have better resistance and possibly manipulate honkai energy?"

Mobius: "Hah, if we could get samples. Honkai beasts fade away quickly after they're dead. Lower ranked honkai beasts don't have dna too so they won't work. We have theories that emperor class and above will be more workable. Although the others have long faded away after they've lost all their honkai energy."

Ein: "I see, so energy is the only thing we can get from low class ones. If MOTH deals with the emperor class and in my estimations the four armed judgement class. We might be able to use those as samples, I can store it indefinitely too."

Mobius then propped up as she had an excited look on her face "Fufufu~ such a valuable specimen that I could get my hands on. You are truly a perfect assistant for me Ein~."

Ein: "Hah, contact me again when you've made some breakthroughs. I'll focus on gene editing for now so when we do get some honkai genes we could make some experiments on it already."

After a couple of days Ein had 2 coffins made and he bought a modified seedling of a cherry blossom tree that blooms all year round, it can also grow quickly.

He then went to a small hill nearby the base that has multiple flower beds. On the center, he dug and laid his parents to rest. He then planted the seedling on top of them. Thinking of the future when it blooms beautifully, right above their graves.

He kneeled in front of the tree seedling "Grow nice and strong. Bloom beautifully in this spot so they would have a nice scenery to look onto okay?" He then silently closed his eyes, reminiscing about the times they spent together with tears about to fall on his eyes. Lost in thought and memories.

Somebody then hugged him from behind tenderly. He quickly looked to know who it is. He saw pink as sky blue orbs stared at his green ones.

"I knew something was wrong with you. You were far too inattentive and less witty these past couple of days." As Elysia hugged him tighter. She then kissed the top of his head gently like a mother showing affection to her child.

Elysia: "It's okay, we're here for you. I'm here for you, Ein. I'll stay with you and we'll mourn together alright?" She smiled sweetly at him.

"Hah, I should've known you'd notice something Elysia. You're sensitive to other people after all." He sighed and shook his head. "Thank you Elysia, you've always been a busybody. Sticking your nose in other people's business." He snorted

She pouted and glared at him "Mou, a beautiful girl is hugging and comforting you, but you badmouth me!? Hmph!" She then pinched his sides.

He hugged her tight "Thank you Elysia. This means a lot to me."

Elysia: "I know dummy. I might seem unreliable but you can be sure that I'll always be there for you. You might be the unanimous leader in our group, but, relying on us like this is good too." She gave a wide smile.

As they sat there, basking in the moment. Surrounded by beautiful flowers and showered by the afternoon sun light.

Chapter 22: Departure

After me and Elysia enjoyed the surroundings for a bit. We return to say goodbye to Su and Eden. "You okay now Ein?" Elysia asked to be sure.

I smiled at her. "Don't worry too much Elysia I'll be just fine. A beautiful girl comforted me after all." I then gave her a noogie.

Elysia: "Ow! Is this how you repay my generosity!?" She huffed. "I'm glad you're back to your usual self though. Let's go and see Eden and Su now, they must be getting suspicious on where we are."

We arrived and saw the gang. Eden noticed us and then squinted her eyes at me. "Nice of you to be here Ein. Where oh where were you with Elysia?" She stared at us like we did a crime.

Elysia doesn't want to make it any easier though as she hugged my arm and explained. "Oh, we were just strolling around a field with beautiful flowers and shared a moment. Ein was really pulling out all the stops, he was so romantic! I had to just kiss him! Fufufu~" She then fidgeted like a girl in love.

I just deadpan stare at her antics. Eden was quite calm though. "Hah, I knew that I just can't keep you to myself but, you could've at least waited for me to go you charming bastard!"

I shrug and decided to get on Elysia's joke. "What can I say, I'm irresistible. But you already know that. Now, don't you guys have a flight to catch?" I used the almighty subject change.

Su: "I'm gonna miss you guys. I'll definitely make a cure for honkai corruption and I'm gonna go here in MOTH as well."

Mei: "Don't worry Su, we believe in your abilities. We'll help you by sending some of our findings here in MOTH too."

Kevin hugged Su "We'll wait for you Su! Do your best, we'll be splendid soldiers when you return."

Eden: "I'll miss our little group as well. Elysia, we'll talk a bit when we meet up next time. You too Himeko, I know you admire Ein a little too much." Himeko didn't react but her cheeks were a bit red.

Ein: "Go on guys we'll contact each other often." I hugged them both "I love you Eden, I'll make some time on some songs or pieces for you."

Eden: "I love you too. Let's see each other soon you guys, don't be too busy and call us."

We then waved at them as they boarded the car and left. "There they go. I'm starting to miss them already." I then look at Kevin, Elysia, and Himeko. "You guys are gonna go for the physicals for the soldier section right? I need to see if you're prepared. I'm already in after all, Mobius knows what I can do."

Kevin then paled as he sweated buckets. Elysia then saw his reaction "Kevin, why are you so scared?" She tilted her head.

Kevin looked at Elysia with a serious gaze "You don't know how much of a slave driver this guy is! He'll run you ragged. You won't feel your legs after he's done with you." He shivers, remembering all the training he did when they were kids.

I looked at Kevin with a steely gaze silently and waited for a couple of seconds "That's what she said." They then just looked at me like an idiot while Mei blushed an atomic red.

Elysia then stared at me like I have the key to a treasure or something. "Ohhh, so you run Eden ragged until she can't feel her legs huh? Fufufu~ I need to talk to her later about this."

Mei just glared at Elysia, while Himeko has a barely noticeable blush. Kevin just looked at me like I was his deity. "Sasuga Ein-sama, I really admire you."

I just shake my head at Elysia "Enough Elysia, I'm gonna make your legs go numb too, let's see if you'll like it." I gave her an evil looking grin.

Himeko sweated a bit as well. Ein's training for her was intense as hell after all. "Prepare yourself Elysia. You'll have a training montage of a lifetime." She prayed for her soul.

The soldier trio were running around in an oval track while Ein kept up with them, all of them are wearing track suits and he had a whistle as well.

Elysia: "Hah, hah, please, no more! I'm gonna break at this rate hah." (Wink)

Kevin: "Suck it up Elysia, you're not the only one running around like your life depends on it!" He and Himeko were in better shape.

Himeko: "I told you Elysia, I hope this will make you have a bit more discipline and self restraint."

Elysia: "No! Never! If I become like you I'll go crazy!" Ein then hit her with a thin stick on her butt. "Ow! What was that for! You'll make me a masochist just like Himeko!"

Ein: "Quit yapping and keep on running Elysia. I'm testing your limits and if you can keep spouting crap like that, then you're not done yet."

Himeko glared at Elysia like she just murdered her parents "I am NOT a masochist! You damned crazy girl!"

Elysia: "Then why do you slow down for a bit at times? You pervert! Ow! Stop hitting me Ein, I'm just exposing this little pervert!"

Himeko just sputtered, trying to make a rebuttal "Ein, I'm just getting tired I swear!" Ein then hit her on the butt as well. "Ahn~" She moaned a bit but instantly put her hands on her mouth.

Everyone stopped and stared at her. Elysia with a face splitting grin on her face. Himeko turned red like a tomato as she just squatted and covered her face.

Elysia: "I told you Ein, I knew it! Whenever you guys trained and you'd look down and glare at her she would become so meek and fidget."

Ein: "I see, don't worry Himeko I'm quite open to some things." She then ran like a wind cursing at Elysia.

Kevin: "There she goes. Hah, why do you just have to go and do that Elysia." He shakes his head.

Elysia: "Te he. I did went quite a bit overboard." She stuck her tongue out.

Ein: I rub the bridge of my nose feeling tired "We'll spar tomorrow, Elysia will be the first one. I'll have to shape you up girl. Prepare yourself." As I ran to Himeko to catch up to her.

Kevin just stared at Elysia like she was trash.

Elysia: "What? Don't worry Kevin, I'll ask Mei what her fetishes are too, no need to thank me." She then ran away leaving Kevin behind, thinking seriously about what Mei's preferences are.

I quickly caught up to Himeko "Hime-chan stop! Come here and let's talk about that." She then slowly stopped as she just lowered her head and just looked on the ground.

I then walked up to her and patted her head. "Don't be too caught up with Elysia's antics Hime-chan. She's just playful like that." I raised her head by her chin and smiled at her.

Himeko sniffled, close to tears "You don't think I'm weird or something? That I'm an irredeemable pervert?" She looked at him hopefully.

I hugged her, Ahh the gap moe is just too much. "Of course not, it's only natural that we have certain preferences. What's bad though is if you force people to bend to it. Come on, let's go and get you some rest, we have a long day tomorrow and you can get back at Elysia at your spars." I ruffle her hair.

Himeko purred unconsciously as she then got serious "I'll teach her not to mess with me again tomorrow."

Ein: "Atta girl, you're my cute student so as a senior you'll have to beat her up okay?" We then laughed as we returned to our respective rooms.

Omake: Where Ein isn't awake when he's supposed to.

In the lounge in Elysian realm.

Elysia: "I shouldn't be talking about myself all the time. I want to know more about you Mei-chan. I've always wondered if your horns bring you any trouble in life?" She tilted her head.

R. Mei: "What do you mean?" She asked with a confused face.

Elysia: "For example, when you go in and out of a room will they hit the door frame? Do they hurt when they do? And do they make it impossible for you to wear a hat? How do you dry your hair with those things on the way?" She pelted Mei with questions.

Mei: "They aren't always there. They only appear when I actively use my herrscher powers.

Elysia had a look like she understood a mystery of the universe "Oh, I see. I just want to say that they look beautiful on you... Can I touch them?"

R.Mei: "No." She immediately shot her down.

Elysia got silent for a few seconds "You can touch my ears in exchange? Odin told me he likes them very much and they're very soft. It even flutters when I'm happy!"

R.Mei: "I'll pass." She immediately refused, again.

Elysia: "Aww, I thought we were soulmates~ we were starting to get closer too! Odin rarely appears so I can't touch his horns." She looked sad for a moment then perked up immediately.

R.Mei: "Who is this Odin Elysia? Kevin mentioned him once, he said I'm not qualified to know him yet, as my resolve and conviction aren't strong enough."

Elysia pondered for a solid minute "He mentioned him to you huh? You're the 1st visitor to even heard that name. How should I describe him... He's a very charismatic person, even Mobius listens to everything he says like a puppy. Every flame chaser respects him, even Kalpas speaks to him politely fufufu~

Mei was surprised, after all, it's hard to imagine Mobius and Kalpas like that. "Then, this person must have high authority? Kalpas doesn't really talk politely with anyone even those that he respects."

Elysia nodded "Hm, he has higher authority than even MEI and Kevin. Me and Eden even fought him often and we didn't even win a single time~"

R.Mei: "You fight him? Why though? Do you guys have bad blood with each other? I can't really imagine you and Eden fighting your comrade, one you respect on top of that."

Elysia giggled "Ahhh, we don't hate each other or anything. We just like to get up close and personal~" She then left a confused Mei.

Chapter 23: Joining Formally

It's a brand new day, I'll have to talk to Mobius about setting me up a private training ground. She'll agree for sure, at least she'll be the one monitoring me. Mobius will be a big help until I can be untouchable. Tsk fucking politics are a pain in the ass, anyways, I need to shape up the three would be new recruits.

I messaged them that we'll meet up in 2 hours, I'll talk to Mei and Mobius first. I went to Mei's room and knocked. Nobody answered, I'm sure she's in there though, I can hear a retractable pen being clicked. So I knocked again and noticed it's unlocked "Mei, I'm coming in."

I went in and saw her just staring at her book and clicking her pen like clockwork. I touched her shoulder gently so I won't startle her. "Mei, that's unusual of you. Getting absent minded in front of a book."

She flinched a bit and slowly looked towards me "Hah, I just have some things bothering me for a bit Ein, don't worry."

Ein: "I see, you're agonizing on something you mean?" I quickly sent Kevin a quick message so he'll come here.

Mei: "I don't know, it's been a rough couple of days you know? Stress might have been a catching up to me."

Ein: "Well, we all have those kinds of days. But it isn't quite like that is it?"

Mei: "Yes, it's eating on my mind. At first, I was quite shocked and I wanted to go get them to safety but now that I think about it... I can't cry about it."

We went silent for a bit "Do you regret it? Not being able to get your parents to safety?"

Mei: "Sadly, no. We had to escape quickly or we'll get overrun immediately. And that's what's been bothering me Ein. They're my parents I should be mourning right now, crying my heart out! Why don't I feel sad? I felt scared for them for a while but I just can't miss them!" Ein just kept quiet.

Kevin then entered the room and noticed the somber mood immediately. "This is about the ones we left at Nagazora huh?" He then sat beside her and hugged her tight. "It's okay Mei, we're here for you. What's important is we're alive to see another day."

Mei grit her teeth and pushed him forcefully. "This isn't just about leaving them Kevin! I don't feel for them! It's like I don't care when they were left behind to die! And I'm scared... What if this is what I'm really like? What if you guys just disappeared one day and I won't care. Are my emotions even real? Is out relationship even real for me?"

Ein sighed and shook his head "Mei, do you even hear yourself right now? I know it's scary because you don't understand and you think it's not normal. But I'm gonna be honest with you. You were a neglected child Mei, well taken care of, but that isn't the point. When we were kids you've probably been with my parents more than your own, eaten with them, played with them, conversed with them."

I then rummaged through her desk and took out our gift for her back then. "When you see our memories together. What do you feel?"

Mei looked at it and went silent. "I, I don't know."

I took a lighter out from my inventory and slowly let the flame go near to it. She then froze and suddenly bolted up "No! That's mine!" She hugged it with all her might.

"I think that's your answer Mei." I pat her head.

Kevin grasped her shoulders and looked her in the eye. "You'll be down for a few days, months even Mei. But that's why we're here aren't we? I'm not mature and smart enough to give you some kind of sagely advice, but I sure as hell will be by your side always. That's why I decided to be here at MOTH, even as a soldier."

I nodded "Your concerns are valid Mei, you're still young after all. You'll understand later when you reflect on this day. You might be a genius, but everyone has their troubles." I then tapped lover boy on the shoulder. "Kevin, cheer her up okay? You're exempted on training for today. Go and relax, the both of you." I gave a thumbs up to him.

Mei internalized our words for a bit "Thank you Ein, Kevin. Maybe you're right Ein, I always envied you back then because your parents were always there for you and they made the effort to be with you. But as time went on, I just came to enjoy being at your place. Say hi to them for me alright? I haven't seen them for some time."

Kevin: "Say hi to them for me as well. They treated us very nicely when we went for a vacation

I nodded and smiled at her "I'll be sure to tell them, we haven't seen them in a few months after all. They'll be excited to know that we're at MOTH now." I then left the two of them to their own devices.

I walked to the hill leisurely as I sat on the little seedling I planted and just basked on the atmosphere. "Hey mom, dad. Mei and Kevin said hi. I haven't introduced you to Himeko and Elysia by the way. They're quite the pleasant ladies to be with, I'm sure you'll like them mom."

"Elysia is a beautiful and bubbly girl that enjoys life to the fullest. She enjoys everything genuinely, she's sensitive and kind. Has a mean streak in trying to tease everyone though."

"Himeko, she's quite strict and stoic. She's a realist and I quite admire her maturity at her age. She's quiet and quite different from Elysia, although she's a softie that likes cute things."

"Oh, we're now officially junior researchers here in MOTH too, our senior Mobius kinda unnerves Mei but I think she's just misunderstood. She has that mad scientist vibe, maybe you guys know her? She is too young to be at her position so she's undoubtedly a genius too. I'll get along with her I think, it's really easy to know what she wants after all. Unlike the scheming types."

"I got to get going, I have to set some things up after all. Hah, no rest for the wicked as they say." He stood up and looked at the seedling for a bit. "I guess I'll see you later... I'll be on my way." He walked away as the wind blew softly.

Ein is now currently in front of Mobius' lab. "Dr. Mobius!? I need some things from you." He then entered the lab and saw her glued to her computer again.

She looked at me quietly "What do you need? I'm quite busy here as you can see."

Ein: "I need an underground private training room, some weights that are dense that can help me increase my strength. If need to be I can pay for it, I just need some place to hone myself."

Mobius nodded "Sure, it'll be done in a few weeks at most. I'm very interested on what your limits will be." She squinted her eyes.

Ein: "Thanks Mobius, as for my limits? Who knows? I can see it in your eyes though, you just want to bolt me to a table and look at everything. I'm sure you'll find something interesting, but most I can give you are some samples."

Mobius grinned widely clearly excited "That's enough, for now. You did say that it might be possible on the 3rd date? Did you not? I expect an interesting one though, you won't disappoint will you?"

Ein grinned at her as well "I have something up my sleeves for you Mobius, and yes, you can't examine me thoroughly for now. I have a proposition already for our 1st little date though."

Mobius raised a brow "Hoh, and what might that be? This should be interesting, coming from you."

Ein: "Get a sample of my cells and test honkai energy on it. I'm sure you'll be surprised, after you get some data on that, I'll let you know an idea I have.

Mobius' eyes widened. Is his cells resistant to honkai energy or something? How does he even know that she thought. No matter, this will surely be enjoyable. "I see, now give me a sample! I'll contact you after I've done some tests on it."

She then peeled a bit of tissue on my arm using a device that was kinda like a mandolin. It was a bit freaky honestly, I felt like I was cheese or something. She then put it on a petri dish and put it away carefully inside a refrigerated compartment.

"Contact me later, I hope our little get together later will be successful." I smirked at her then left. I need to meet Elysia and Himeko now, gotta shape them up.

When I arrived at the place where they'll train, I saw Himeko staring at Elysia like she was a piece of meat.

Elysia: "Come on Hime-chan! I said I'm sorry! Forgive me please? I'll tell you some of my kinks too okay?"

Himeko just stared at her while her hands were in front of her like a statue.

I clapped and got their attention. "Guys, Kevin has something important to do. He's better at this too as he'd been trained by me from when we were kids so that's that."

Elysia ran to me and grasped onto my arm trying to pull me. "Ein! Himeko is angry at me. What should I do? You'll pacify her for me right? Please?" She did the legendary puppy dog eyes. Too bad, I grew up using it.

I shake my head at her antics "You'll be getting your just desserts Ellie. Now get in position and let her beat you up."

Elysia clicked her tongue "Tch, you're a tough opponent Ein. Watch yourself, my cuteness will prevail." As she slowly walked in front of Himeko.

"Alright, you guys will be sparring, no debilitating blows and first one that gives up will be the loser."

Himeko nodded at me and assumed a judo stance. Elysia just gulped and bent her knees with poor posture. I looked at them both and nodded "Start!" Himeko dashed to Elysia wanting to get up close and personal. Elysia braced herself and threw a slow and sloppy haymaker. Himeko quickly caught it and put her right foot under Elysia and did an uchi mata as she threw her down at the ground hard.

"Stop! You okay Elysia?" She just stared on the ceiling for a bit and nodded at me. Himeko then squinted her eyes at her. "Hmph! That'll teach you to get overboard again!"

Elysia stood up "Hehe~ Sorry Hime-chan, I just couldn't resist you see? I told you I'll share some of my kinks too~" I sigh again as she clearly didn't learn anything. "Ellie, take this seriously. Or I'll have to up your training for quite a bit. Not that you have any say anyway."

Elysia pouted and hugged Himeko "Mou~ Ein is bullying me Hime-chan! Don't you like that? Can't you take my place?"

Himeko's brow twitched as she hit her on the head "Shut up Elysia! Let's go and train. We'll need to be fit for MOTH to accept us."

I nod and tapped them on the shoulders "Hime's right Elysia, now I think we need to work on your stamina. You need to carry a lot after all if you're a soldier, and we'll be walking a lot in missions. Cardio and calisthenics are our first priority before I teach you how to fight. Come on chop chop, run 20 laps."

Elysia groaned and started running with Himeko. I caught up to them and jogged at Himeko's side. "Good job Himeko, you held back against Elysia. I'll give you a big plushie of that pikachu wannabe."

She was confused at pikachu at first, but quickly got excited because she remembered the one I got her on the crane game. "Un, thanks! Elysia isn't really a bad person. She just went overboard."

I laughed "Well, get used to it as she won't change anytime soon." We then continued exercising for the approaching enlistment.

After a few weeks of training, Elysia can now easily clear the PFT's that I saw for being a soldier at MOTH. Well, she wasn't lying when she said she was fit. The three of them passed with flying colors and will be sent to boot camp.

I decided to enter as well so I won't be too suspicious just being in a squad almost instantly when I just came here and I'm young too. I can be in a squad with Kevin too so that's a plus, nothing a little talking to Mobius with can't change. I won't coddle them though, this is a path filled with thorns. Being their knight in shining armor will come to bite them in the ass later.

Mei was still a bit out of it but she's out of her funk now. Reviewing everything that MOTH has researched about and is back to her normal self.

Speaking of Mobius, she wants to see me immediately after I congratulated the three for a job well done. I guess she's quite excited about her findings huh? I walked to her lab again and I'll tell her a specific experiment I want to do.

"Mobius, I've come to bargain." I looked at her seriously.

Mobius: "What?" She raised a brow sensing my serious aura.

Ein: "Nothing, I just wanted to say that. So what did you find?"

Mobius stared at me for a second "Okay... Anyways, I've injected some honkai energy in your cells and it was honestly amazing! Their honkai resistance is high and they needed a lot of it before they started to get corrupted. They can survive in harsh environmental conditions too! Although they are quite malignant as they change the make up of surrounding cells. when I've tried to integrate them in other organisms, they die almost instantly, as their bodies can't keep up with the changes."

So my cells are malignant to others huh? Kinda like hashirama cells or something. I still need regeneration though. "I see, are you satisfied with your findings?"

She grinned at me and laughed "Yeeees, it is very interesting. I'm tempted to just keep you here in my lab to unravel your every secret."

Ein: "Well, I think you'll like our 1st date. You have the data about how much honkai energy my cells can take right? Let's test it a few more times in a controlled environment. If the results are consistent, I want you to inject me with honkai energy."

Mobius was shocked, honkai is quite volatile after all. Injecting it to organisms always result in mutations and then certain death. "I see, you really outdid yourself for our 1st get together Einheri." She licked her lips and her eyes had a trace of insanity.

I shrug "What can I say? I told you I had a trick up my sleeves."

She laughed and stood up "You and me will get along just right." She caressed my chest. "I can't wait for the other things you might have in surprise for me."

I gave her a flashdrive with relevant data about my body that I've found over the years. "You'll find a lot in this flashdrive. I hope you'll enjoy."

She put it in her pocket carefully and smiled mischievously. "You sure know how to make a woman happy. I'll surely deliver on paying you back for these oh so generous gifts."

I nod at her "Then you'll be glad to know that there's plenty more where that came from. I'd imagine you'll be quite satisfied with me around." He then left an excited Mobius that will surely be busy.

Chapter 24: Super Manager

Elysia, Himeko, and Kevin are going to start boot camp with me. I need to make them stronger, maybe I should do a diet plan for optimal nutrition. They can't shove food down their throats like me after all. Humans can theoretically digest 8000 calories in a sitting, I need to pump calories in them.

They'll burn approximately 3 thousand, and more if I train them personally too. Hm, I'll make a steady 4 thousand calorie meal plan then just for the extra margin of error. Should I cook it too? I'm not a chef but I cooked for myself for several years. Yeah, they'll appreciate that.

Now that I think about it, with my enhanced senses won't that little rat Remy be my bitch at cooking? Hm, I'll have to test it a bit with Mei first, she won't mind I think.

I then got to the kitchen and asked permission to make something. They were surprised as I'm a researcher, although a junior one, wants to cook something. If you ask me I wouldn't have thunk that scientists will cook too. It's like 5 in the morning as well.

Okay, what should I cook? Maybe a full english for breakfast today so they'll be nice and energetic. Curry for lunch so they'll pack on carbs for post workout and a south east asian congee so it'll be meaty and flavorful. I hate bland things after all.

As he cooked and packed it up for their morning warmups before training he went to Mei's room first. "Mei! Come out here and eat some grub before you starve to death, reading all those sciency things!" He knocked vigorously on her door.

Mei opened it with bags under her eyes. "It's morning already? I didn't even notice the time." Ein went in and displayed a full english breakfast in front of Mei, still steaming hot. Perks of an inventory.

She saw the feast and her stomach rumbled as the smell hit her, the irresistible smell of butter, bacon and sausages tickled her nostrils. She gulped and salivated as she stared at it.

Ein laughed "You dork, go on and dig in. You've had an all nighter, eat first then rest up. Tell me how it tastes though, I didn't made them all from scratch but I put in some effort on em."

Mei nodded, took a fork and started with the sausages. Her eyes widened as it was mind bogglingly delicious. "Delicious? Why are you so surprised!?" I pouted. "I made that one by myself, there were ingredients in the kitchen available so why not?"

She swallowed first "Well, you never cooked before so I was just surprised. Are you going to make things more often?" Hopeful that he'll cook more.

He pondered for a bit "Hm, maybe? Judging from your reaction it was good, so if I have time I'll probably cook more often. It warms your heart seeing people enjoy your food after all." I smile at her. She finished it quickly and was starting to doze off.

"Go on and rest, don't use coffee as a crutch too. You're going to have a reliance on it." I then left and messaged the others so they can taste it too.

We decided to meet outside where there's a table. Himeko then asked "What's that you have on that bag Ein?"

Elysia: "Ohh, you have a surprise for us? We didn't celebrate for passing after all."

Kevin: "You didn't have to go out of your way Ein, though I am curious."

I looked at them one by one and nodded "Yes you will have the privilege of tasting my amazing cooking plebs." He then took out the contents of the bag.

Elysia: "Ooh~ You made us a full english!? That looks good. You spoil us rotten Ein~"

Himeko: "I've never had one before, I'm sure just by the smell it's going to be delicious."

Kevin: "Wow, I didn't know you can cook Ein. Well, let's get to it then."

They ate it scrumptiously. "You guys will be burning a lot for the incoming training. I have to make sure you eat enough so you don't under nourish yourselves. For now I planned 3 meals a day, but when I make a better plan it will be 5. Come to me after training too, I'll give you guys a deep tissue massage so you won't be sore."

They all nodded happily, Kevin was stuffing his face. Himeko ate quickly but more carefully. Elysia was being elegant but fast, that was some dedication.

After they finish I talked to them for a bit before going to train "Guys, remember. You'll be soldiers now, and it isn't easy. I made Mobius let us be in the same squad. I'm not a full on soldier yet, but take everything seriously when we're out on the field. Eyes peeled and ears open, there is no honor on the battlefield." They listened carefully

"It's either you die or you live. When the enemy can't be beaten by only one of you, gang up on it. Use everything you can think of until you win. No one gets left behind. Okay? I won't always be there for you so team up and don't do any funny shit out there. You can get killed very easily."

They nodded and we went to training.

We were tasked to do some physical readiness training, marches, formations, discipline, CBRN readiness. It was tough seeing them inhale some tear gas and I was basically unfazed.

marksmanship and combat basics were easy for them as I've already started them on the basics. I emphasized on marksmanship though as they won't be throwing hands with honkai beasts.

I forced them to eat dinner as they were dead tired. "Come on, I'll massage you guys first. You'll need it, trust me." They didn't complain and I started on Kevin. "This is gonna be a bit uncomfortable."

I then started on his limbs as he frowned a bit. I finished relatively quickly and went to the girls next.

Elysia: "Noo~ you're gonna put your grubby hands on me. It's only fair that I touch you too." She wiggled her eyebrows.

Ein shook his head and sighed "Get on the table Elysia, I'll let you touch me all you want later."

Elysia: "Kevin and Himeko heard that! I'll be sure to do that later~"

Kevin: "Good luck on handling Ellie, Ein." He then escaped.

Ein: "Yes, yes. Now let's get on with it so you guys can rest." I quickly massaged Elysia as she fidgeted a bit due to pain.

Ein: "Come on Hime, your turn too."

Himeko squirmed a bit as she looked at me. "Okay, do it quickly though." Her cheeks were a bit red.

Ein: "Elysia, go on and rest. You guys have a long day tomorrow."

Elysia agreed quickly as she's too tired to try and tease Himeko.

As I massaged Himeko she was breathing heavily, subtle but noticeable. "You alright Hime? Rest well after this okay? I have some things to do after this." She calmed down.

Himeko: "Thanks for doing this for us Ein, you spoil us too much you know."

Ein: "Eh it's the least that I can do. You guys followed us here after all, and it's gonna be dangerous in a few weeks so just relax."

I left to go to my room, in my computer I've been designing a bootleg CRISPR Cas-9 so I can cut unnecessary DNA and replace it with another completely or just take it entirely. It's still a prototype and I'm gonna need some tests for this.

I went to Mobius' lab and entered as I have a free pass here. "Mobius, I have a prototype for editing genes. I do think it will have problems for full grown organisms as it would have to be intensive and the test subject might react violently to this."

I gave her the data and she read it for a few minutes. "Hm, you're gonna use an enzyme and an RNA guide to cut the target DNA and replace it. This is brilliant, but I agree that this can't be tested reliably on full grown subjects."

He nodded "We should test it on undeveloped embryos first and small organisms like insects, then if it's successful we can integrate nano technology to make it smoother for larger tests."

Mobius looked at the data for a bit again "Good idea, I honestly overlooked bacterial antiviral defenses as a base prototype. We'll continue with this for the mean time." She gave a face splitting grin.

I shrugged "Do you have the necessary equipment and data for integrating me with honkai energy? Don't worry too much at the margin of error. I'm not fragile I assure you."

Mobius licked her lips "Well you're a unique test subject, I need to be careful of course. But yes, I'm all prepared for our first major experiment." Her excitement was through the roof.

I clapped my hands "Let's get on with it, shall we?"

She lead me to a chair that has mechanical limbs with a serum on it and instructed me to take off my shirt.

Mobius: "Are you ready? This will hurt more than you can imagine."

I nodded "Begin." As the machine rumbled and injected at multiple places on my torso.

Hey guys, thanks for reading he won't have any mutations for now but he will receive a certain power for being injected with basically raw honkai energy. It's not op as hell till later but the effects on his body will be substantial.

Chapter 25: Souped Up

I pump up my body with endorphins to prepare for the incoming experiment. As the needles pierce my body and slowly injected honkai energy I started to feel numb. At first I thought it wasn't too bad.

Then it hit like a truck, all the nerves in my body were on fire. The honkai energy invading every part of my body, 1st my muscles, then my bones as all cells were engulfed by the corrupting energy.

"Argh! Don't stop Mobius! I can handle this!" I said as I looked at her.

Mobius: "Your cells are starting to degrade! You can't handle much more."

Ein: "This is fine! I can handle it, trust me!" Pink circuit like veins started appearing on his back. Slowly, it starts crawling all over. It appeared on his limbs next, then on his neck and face.

As the machine fully injected everything. Mobius saw him breathing heavily, sweat was flowing all over his body like he just finished a marathon. "How do you feel?" She frowned.

Ein: "What do you think? Like shit." He muttered with a hoarse voice.

Mobius then got excited "Can you believe it!? This is the first ever successful human trial on honkai energy integration at that dose! Come lie on the table quickly! I must get samples from you immediately."

He shook his head at her excitement "Geez Mobius, can't I catch my breath for a second."

Mobius: "You can rest on the table! Now, we need to examine you!"

Ein: "Alright already, I won't run you know?" He lied on a table that was prepared and diagnostics was done on his body that is still glowing from honkai energy.

Mobius' face was almost touching the screen of her computer. "Exquisite! Your cells have stopped degrading and there are basically no mutations or deformations that I can find. Over all this must be a success!"

I stood up and looked at a mirror. "Damn, I look like a magus with fucked up magic circuits. Hey Mobius, this will slowly recede right? I can't look like a person infected with honkai you know."

"Let's hold you here for a bit depending on how long it'll disappear. Do you feel anything different?" She asked, curious.

I closed my eyes and focused on my body. Hm, this is weird. I can feel something foreign inside my body. Let's try and influence it, I then willed it to move copying those xianxia novels or chakra from Naruto.

I tried to make it move outside my body but it didn't want to. So I just used it on myself, slowly, I felt it encase me.

Mobius: "Y-you're floating! How do you do that!? Is it the energy? Can you feel it? What do you think can it do!?"

With my concentration broken I returned to the ground "Woah, I reall was floating! Calm down Mobius or I won't tell you." I grin at her.

She glared at me like I killed her parents "What do you mean calm down!? Of course I can't. This is the very first time in history that someone besides a herrscher can manipulate something using honkai energy!"

I put my hands up, surrendering to her enthusiasm "Okay, okay. I feel something foreign inside my body like another limb entirely and I can will it to move. When I used it on myself, as you can see I floated. Let me try something else."

I saw a pen on the table, I tried to make the energy move outside of my body again as I started imitating a force choke on the poor pen. My arm's pink circuits glowed as the pen slowly floated.

Mobius stared wide eyed at the phenomena. "You can make things float as well? Maybe it's telekinesis?" She started writing on a clip board. "What's your limit? Can you try it on something heavier?"

I nod and looked at her. She looked confused at first then gasped as my hand got in her direction. I tried to lift her by encasing her on it and it kinda felt like a weak hand for now that can't lift much, but she still floated.

She flailed at first but then started writing again. I flip her upside down by imagining it and gesturing, she slowly rotated until her head was floating above the ground.

Mobius glared at me weakly "Hey! Don't play with your powers using me you idiot!" She flailed wildly as she protested.

I gave her a shit eating grin and as she saw it she started to sweat. "Hmm, Moby-chan doesn't appreciate my gift, maybe I should punish you~"

She shivered and looked at me nervously "Ein, we can talk about this! Don't do it! I swear if you do!" She got cut off as I juggled her around like a ball.

"You fucking bastard! Put me down!" I slowly put her down as she sat on the floor. "Ugh, you stupid buffoon! Why did you do that!?"

I shrug "Because it's fun of course, loosen up Mobius. You're gonna get old quickly if you don't have fun sometimes."

Mobius: "It WAS fun at first! But you had to ruin it by juggling me like a ball!"

I patted her head "Sorry, sorry. I'll tell you about other things that I felt that changed."

Mobius pouted and was a bit teary eyed. Maybe I did tease her a bit too much.

"So, I also feel like it increased my strength a fair bit. You don't have anything I can use here to test it so it'll be in my training ground later. I don't quite know the limits of this, I'll test it in the future."

Mobius: "I see, we will test it later then. Can you do it unlimitedly? Telekinesis I mean."

Ein: "Now that you say it, I can feel that it's quite exhausted like it just did a workout or something. It must be tied to the amount of honkai energy I have in my body."

Mobius: "Then we'll have to slowly increase the amount of your honkai energy." She gave a manic grin "I'll surely enjoy injecting you with some more~" She purred.

I laughed at her "Sorry Moby-chan I don't think you'll be pleased at our next sessions. I probably won't feel like I'm melting next time."

Mobius then had a realization as her shoulders drooped "Tch, I forgot that your cells have incredible adaptability and resilience. I just have to pump you full of it then."

She chuckled and smiled a bit. "Hey Mobius, I know you like science a lot. But is there anything else that drives you to improve humanity? To the point of obsession even."

Mobius went silent for a few moments and looked at empty space.

"A reason huh? I don't really keep it secret but this is the first time someone has asked me. Well, it all started when I was born. They told me that I already had my first words when I was just born. A genius they say, but my mother died giving birth to me."

"My father works at an apothecary and was quite renowned. But it all started going down hill when he was afflicted by an unknown disease. The side effects of his medicine made him violent, he would beat me often because of it." She said almost mockingly.

"I didn't hate him, after all it was the side effects of his treatment. I pitied him instead, because of the disease he had to take medicine that slowly ate away at his sanity and logic."

"At my 9th birthday I was beat up again. I left and went to a prestigious school that sponsored everything for me. I then had a realization that humans are imperfect, ugly, and ridiculous. I vowed to make humanity the perfect organism so they won't be like my father."

Then it became silent. After a few moments I patted her head and smiled at her "Hm, that's quite impressive. Look at you now, a scientist in MOTH and we're starting to make your ambitions true. Good job Mobius."

Mobius just stared at me but she did crack a small smile "Thank you. It does frustrate me a bit that you're the catalyst for my success in my endeavors."

Ein: "Hahaha, don't mind it. As a scientist, it doesn't matter as long as you succeed. With our without help does it?"

Mobius: "Well, nobody has been able to help me after all besides Klein. Speaking of her, can we tell her about your special conditions so I don't have to make her leave every time you go here? I'm quite busy and I need help."

Ein pondered for a moment "Do you trust her? If you do, then fill her up about our experiments. You might just exhaust yourself and have a heart attack, sitting on your chair all day."

Mobius: "I'll inform her then, I believe she is trustworthy, competent as well.

Ein: "Okay. Speaking of assistants, you work too much Mobius. You're the quintessential workaholic. I have an idea, now that we have made some breakthroughs I'll prepare something for you. Go to my room, I'll be back in about an hour. If I don't see you there I won't work with you anymore got that!?"

I then wore a turtle neck long sleeve so I can hide my apparent honkai corruption, thankfully the ones on my face disappeared. I dashed to the kitchen and prepared a simple 3 course meal that I made using my inhuman specs.

With 15 minutes to spare I arrive at my room where I saw Mobius staring at the pikachu bootleg plushie in my room. What? It's cute so I had one for myself.

"Oya? You like cute things huh Moby-chan?" I smiled sweetly at her.

She froze and then looked at me "What do you mean?" She denied

Ein: "You know there's no point lying, I saw you staring at my plushie."

Mobius sighed "I don't particularly like plushies, I like small animals. But they just run from me everytime."

I got stunned for a good few seconds "You like small animals? That's unexpected. Maybe because you have this unsettling look on you all the time. Even MOTH agents are scared of you, I'm sure you've noticed."

She froze for a minute as she internalized what I said. I just prepared the dishes that I made "Do I look... That scary?" She slowly said

I shake my head "A bit, but I think it's because you feel dangerous. Like people feel you stare at them like a lab rat that's to be dissected."

"I see." She then smiled but it looked evil. "How about now?" She asked

Ein: "Uhhh, you look evil Moby honestly. You subconsciously lick your lips too when there's something interesting like when we first met. That can give people the creeps."

Mobius frowned "Do I really look that bad?"

Ein: "Umu, you're beautiful honestly very even. But you feel dangerous hahaha."

Mobius then looked at herself on a mirror and analyzed herself thoroughly.

I finished setting up and it smelled heavenly. I heard Mobius' stomach rumble. I made some scallops for our appetizer, a herb encrusted lamb chops and a tiramisu for dessert. After I made some meals for the gang I quickly ordered tons of food so I can make everything I want without relying on the ingredients in the kitchen here at MOTH.

"Don't worry about it too much Mobius I'm probably the only one that saw you smile genuinely and it was honestly stunning. Helps that it happens rarely too." I patted her head "Go on, I made this especially for you. You probably haven't eaten good food in a long time. It's delicious I guarantee it."

She took a fork and we started eating. Mobius ate quickly and efficiently. Surely because she wants to save time. After we finished she sighed contently and smiled. I quickly took a picture.

"There! I got solid evidence of your amazing smile Moby-chan. I'm gonna use this for negotiations because of how rare it is."

Mobius: "Hey! Give me that!" She lunged at me and I let my body go on the ground, I'm like a concrete wall after all, she'll hurt herself.

I stored the camera immediately and stuck my tongue out at Mobius. "Hey! That's cheating..." She noticed that she was on top of me and squishing her melons on my pecs.

I wiggle my eyebrows "You're quite aggressive Moby-chan~ pushing me down in my room. And we just had dinner once."

Surprisingly she didn't get off immediately and closed her eyes as she laid her head under my chin. "Is this what having friends are like? I feel so satisfied, like I just made a major breakthrough in my projects."

I hugged her waist and patted her head "Feels nice right? Well at least you have me as a friend now Mobius. I doubt other people will understand you, but I'm sure we will be together for a loooong time."

We basked in the moment for a minute as she slowly stood up. "Thank you Ein, for letting me experience something interesting."

Ein: "No problemo. Oh, how about we buy a cute little pet for you so you'll have a nice companion in the lab. There are no dangerous things there that can be reached by pets anyway. Ooh, maybe a chinchilla. Those little guys are cute and it just needs a little house set up. I'll take care of the rest."

Mobius was shocked for a moment "You don't need to do that. It will be an unnecessary disturbance for me."

Ein: "Don't say that, you like small animals right? Chinchillas don't need much, and I'll help you take care of it. Klein can help too and it'll be our little mascot in the lab."

Mobius hesitated for a bit but still gave in "Fine, but you'll help me with it. I'm a busy person with very valuable time."

I nodded "You don't have to worry too much, we'll make animals love you in a heartbeat."

Mobius: "Thank you for the dinner and everything. It was a pleasant experience, I must go now."

I patted her head and smiled "Anytime, I'll have to make you experience new things as your friend after all."

Mobius nodded and went back to her lab.

I crack my knuckles "Now, I need to test my new powers shouldn't I?"

Omake: Mei's troubles with Mobius

Mobius: "Hi, lightning rat. We meet again.

Mei sighed "I'm not your rat, Mobius. And my name is Raiden Mei, try to remember it this time

Mobius: "Ohh, so you're the type to name small animals huh. Quite cute for a herrscher. But I'm not in the habit of doing that~ There are so many test subjects to keep track of, and I prefer simpler identification methods.

Mei stared at her "I'm not your test subject."

Mobius: "Ah, it's too soon to say that now. After all, Your journey here has barely started. Maybe you'll change your mind later.

Mei rebutted instantly "No, I've made up my mind on this."

Mobius giggled "We'll see about that, herrscher."

As Mei was about to leave Mobius they heard a deep voice behind them that caught them off guard. "Mobius..." Both of them stood still and didn't move. Then they slowly turned their heads at the same time. They saw a tall man, his eyes were closed but his long platinum silver hair was very noticeable. His face looked like it was carved by god and his body screamed absolute power.

"You are scaring the little girl Mobius, I know you're excited as you haven't had a herrscher as a test subject before. I told you before, you can give people the creeps. Stop trying to convince her to be in your experiment. Now apologize, before I whip out your picture while you were playing with Hamsuke."

Mobius shivered and quickly did a 90° bow to Mei "I... I apologize Raiden Mei. I won't bother you with my experiments again."

Mei was gaping like a fish, everybody told her to be careful of Mobius after all, it was just simply mind boggling seeing her apologize like that. After being silent for a solid minute she then got out of her funk "I accept your apology." She then looked at the man, curiously but he was too intimidating

"Excuse me sir, but are you Odin?" She blurted out after channelling the courage.

He turned to her "You are Raiden Mei? Interesting indeed. Yes, I am Odin, I'm surprised you heard me from someone?"

Mei nervously scratched the back of her head "Kevin said your name once, he didn't tell me anything about you though."

He nodded "I see, because you are a special visitor. Being a herrscher, I'll introduce myself." He opened his eyes, they were slightly glowing and his pupils were slits that looked like they were a dragon's. He then looked at Mei's violet eyes.

Mei: This guy radiates danger like crazy! I feel like he's staring at my soul. If I fight him I'll lose in a heartbeat. I want to run away right now, but my legs won't move.

"My name is Einheri. Serial number CM-0. They call me Odin. Rank 0, my codename is Imperator.
