Is it weird that my life's ambition is to become an R.O.B.? I love the idea of messing with one or more of the "characters" from a universe, and then watching what happens. Giving them a power that some other "character" has, or tossing them into another universe, or something like that. It's one of the reasons that I sometimes try to write fanfiction. I always end up quitting, though, since it's not as fun, knowing beforehand what's going to happen.

What about you boys and girls? What are your life's ambitions?

Going to Mars.
I'm not sure what I would do afterward, though. Maybe Alpha Centauri?

Within the realm of fantasy? Going transhuman, uploading myself into being a pure infomorph, and being freed from the lost time and poorly designed defects inherent in being in a biological body. So much time lost by needing to sleep, eat, and other biological needs.

Within reality? Don't really have one to be honest.

I want to grow wings and fly.
It's been a recurring daydream of mine for a very long time now.

I have a similar ambition. My life's ambition is to leave the weakness of the flesh behind.

My life's ambition is to be mentally able to handle Immortality, then Live until living isnt a thing thats possible in our universe anymore. To change form and function until I am things so unrecognizable to what i was originally that it is nothing short of beautiful. To one day be starlight looking back at the memory of the boy whom once it had been, remembering the world as he did, and knowing that it was something far stranger now.

Everyone is going for the fantastical ambitions huh? I had those. Immortality, to be a seer, to live in a groundhog day loop, to die and become a demon.

Now a realistic ambtion that I still have? To earn enough money that I won't have to work a day in my life anymore. But rooster, that's unrealistic!
Wrong! It's possible to earn enough money to live a bachelors life without luxury, I just have to be clever enough to do it.

So basically, my ambition is to become a lone hermit....

Teach me, sensei! How might I fulfill my dream?
First, þou should check þine freezer. Should þou find ice cream, rejoice, for þy ambition is fulfilled.
Should þou not, lament þine lack of foresight as þou makes þine way to the nearest market or storehouse that can aid þou in þy quest, before making exchange of currency for þy true desire. Then rejoice, for þy ambition is fulfilled.

But you can't have ice cream waffles and eat it, too!

Ugh, ice cream.

Ambition - find love, and get married. Current progress: I've become a hermit. Shit.

Ambition - Avoid love, and getting married. Current progress: I've become a hermit. Mission accomplished!

Well if we're going off fantasies, I do spend a lot of time imagining what I would do with wishes, superpowers, or just straight up omnipotence. So any of those would be nice.

Realistically though, the plan is really just to save as much of the money I make as possible so that I can live a relatively happy or at least content life.

I would like to live forever.

Here on earth, there's a limit to how trees can go. At some point, the energy required to transport water and nutrients to that height makes it impossible for them to grow higher. So I've always wondered what a redwood forest would look like if it was growing on the moon. What would these plants become, if they were not constrained by nature? What would it be like, to walk through a forest on the moon? To see giant sequoias, thousands of years old, rising endlessly into the lunar sky?

I feel the same way about people. What would we become, if our lives never ended, but stretched on and on through the millennia? Would we embrace change? Or would the patterns in our minds ossify into deep habits that are impossible to change? I know if they had a drug that allowed for radical personality alterations, I'd take it in a heartbeat. That's why I read stories after all; I can think of nothing more intimate, more beautiful, than to suspend your own ego and allow yourself to be possessed by the thoughts of another. If we could live forever, then I would make it my goal to become as many different people as possible. To sample every sort of thought and idea. Every hundred years I would shed my self like a snake sheds its skin, and pursue some new sort of existence.

I can imagine nothing more strange or lovely than being offered the opportunity to experience the life of another.

Write books so I don't need to get a 'real' job, I guess. That those books be 'proper literature' is optional.

Meh.
I think writing smut for the rest of your life would get repetitive relatively quickly.

Fantasy goal?
Eh, planeswalker-hood would be cool. Oldwalker style, fuck neowalkers. Or some other way to get immense cosmic power.

Real life goal?
To become a well-paid desk potato.
