I don't think it'd be quite mental disabilities, because the Int is high. He'd just be socially defective. It's basically a prodigy build. It's the kind of build that gets you an Orochimaru, or an Itachi or a Kakashi.

Although a better stat distribution would be more along the lines of

This is a mental disability. Mental is more than one specific trait.
Being a mathematical genius doesn't preclude you also being socially disabled.
... although wisdom is not exactly social stat. its more like "common sense / street smarts / comprehending what is going on in life"

It is, the original Shirou is literally railroaded in the VN to do the stupid options.

This isn't a mental disability, this is the ability of taking good choices.
 
You guys know you can Dump Str.
Jutsu like Chakra Scalpals, and Rassengan offer alternative melee damage sources.

I am weary of dumping it. Those jutsus that make it obsolete are incredibly advanced. And we need to survive to reach that point. also

Dumping strength would make us a taijutsu cripple. And probably suck in certain physical skills. Which would make it a bit hard to do things like applying a chakra scalpel to them

I am very happy with my 10% above average str, dex, con. and 60% above average wis and int starting point

Taijutsu can use any/all of the 3, so you can choose what type you want to use based on style of fighting. Yeah we won't be using Strong Fist, but Ideally we can learn a Dex/Con based Taijutsu, and minimize the importance of STR. Being weak, but quick and scrappy.

Additional, the Low Con is what really kills it for me. Con is a workhorse from what I've seen. It is HP, physical resistance, AND is the largest flat contributor to chakra levels, 1 points adding ~ 20-30 Chakra to our pool. so so even 5 points adds +100, or +50% on the BASE chakra of 200.

Edit: Having a weakness isn't BAD perse, so long as you recognize this, and plan around it.

I am pretty sure QM meant that all 3 apply bonuses or maluses. Not that you get to CHOOSE the one you want to apply the bonus (highest one) and then ignore the others...

Thomas Johnston can you clarify about this?
Is having STR of 3 going to negatively affect our taijutsu training, or would it just be ignored as we instead choose to use dex instead as the training stat for taijutsu?

Where did it say that? Also, people already voted for a control based build similar to sakura (iroinin, no chakra boost). So wis and int which are the key skills for iroinin should be our main focus. we want to eventually learn tsunada's super strength via medical jutsu. we can't afford to dump those mental skills.

Where did it say that? Also, people already voted for a control based build similar to sakura (iroinin, no chakra boost). If 10 is the baseline, (10wis+10Int)x10con = 200 for our classmates, with 527 is considered mearley decent for a genin(?)

The problem with being just like Sakura is that she sucked for what 90% of the series? Having Chakra isn't ever going to be a bad thing. Plus if we are the med-nin, why are we punching things at noob levels to begin with? We even have sealing arts to help us avoid that exact scenario. (Its true that dumping Wis is probably not a great idea. so i updated my spread, S5, C20, D10, W10, I20. This nets (20+10)*20=600 Chakra, making our baseline chakra pool respectable. If QM bases the amount of time we can train on our stats, Chakra Pool and Con are the best candidates for how long we can go overall, even if we wear out a particular activity, Not being worn out means we might have actions just to socialize.)

tl;dr - I don't wanna be sakura. I wanna be Sakura if she was cool.

We already voted for our talents to be like sakura... also, we are not going to be sakura. we are going to be better than her in every possible way. Including the fact that our base physical stats would be higher and we would be more capable than her in taijutsu. And our wisdom would definitely be better

While this is pretty optimal for chakra pool size. it is merely average in chakra manipulation which is int and wis. which is our key power as an iroynin.

While this is better, it still leaves us as a borderline cripple in terms of strength. Half the average strength is impactfully low

We are going in with tolerable med-nin stuff from the start, but we arn't starting badass, its just basic skills. We are going to have to train to get good anyways. But if we do things like self-regeneration and that like, you KNOW that's going to eat through Chakra fast.

Without knowing the exact system i can only speculate, but presumably its going to be easier to improve chakra control(which is likely to be skill based) than it is to improve overall reserves (Which are stat based).

Strength also tends to be pretty easy to fix, especially if we can speed up our own healing rate by repairing damange muscles stronger.

Stats are all chakra based anyways. its just using chakra in a different way...
see rock lee who trains his stats to obscene levels. then multiplies it (with ability to withstand multiplication based on stats). as well as any superhuman chakra beast

Also, remember how chakra quantity is increased by everyone as they train. hence the "need to have a quantity of chakra equivalent to jounin to cast shadow clones safely"
