Think I'm gonna go with about twice the lifespan of an irl horse, meaning that in good health they might live up to 70 years or so, but rarely longer than that. So usually shorter than humans but not by as large a margin as irl.

It probably would have a niche in MANT since the runners are probably going to be in bad mood anyways, and the high star gain and failure protection offsets some of the usual problems.

IRL Mori retired at the end of their 2-year old season, so in umaverse it's more they decided that professional racing wasn't for them and Shiro solidified that decision.

It's one thing for the person chasing you to have a (fake) prop sword and another to know that they can use it effectively.

I'm now thinking of that one iconic golfing stream, with one scene in particular of Calli and Shiori at the green

Shirogane runs up to Mori's ear: (whispering) I love you.

Mori runs harder: (bloodcurdling scream, not at all daijoubu)
