Question about rule 8

In my chapter, the main character becomes the president of the United States. Holds meetings and speeches calling for equality. Is this contrary to Rule 8? I think not.

There is no mention of current politics or political figures.
 
This is just fine.

In story text, the only restriction under Rule 8 is to not use actual current politicians in a contentious way.
