Okay @Nyaa I'm going to be frank here - there isn't ever going to be a definitive, black-and-white line with this- there are too many factors in many such cases, so it's more of a gradient as things get less and less okay.
As such, we're also somewhat uncomfortable with trying to find any exact line to say "this stuff is fine".

I will say that I don't see the first set as problematic.
However, the most recent set:

is at the point where I would say to back off and stay away from, that's starting to get uncomfortably close to the point I'd reach for a hammer.

To clarify, the rule we're working with here is "could this picture reasonably be mistaken for a photo?" Then, separately, "does the subject of the picture appear to be under 18?" and "is the picture sexually explicit?" If all three answers are yes, then the picture is not allowed.

Here is an example of AI art that is "photorealistic" by our reckoning:

If you look closely, there are tells that this is AI. However, at first glance it just looks like a photo. (And the distinction is made even trickier when taking into account all the standard types of airbrushing that can be done to a real photo to remove imperfections.) A picture in this style, that depicted underage-looking people in a sexually explicit manner, would not be allowed on QQ.

None of your examples are as clearly "photorealistic" as this one. My judgement is that the first two image sets are okay, and the third one is borderline. We probably want to stay away from "borderline" here, so I would advise not posting images like the third.

I will note that we, QQ staff, are not interested in trying to draw a bright line that people can tiptoe right up to. You should not be looking to make pictures that are "as photorealistic as the rules allow". If you think there is a possibility a picture might be mistaken for a photo, it probably shouldn't be posted here.

However, we will not be attaching harsh punishments to good-faith mistakes here. Absent serious aggravating circumstances, if someone posts an image that is over the line, we will simply remove it and give a warning. Users should use their good judgement in what to post, and should not spend a lot of time trying to get as close to the line as possible.

Thank you guys for answers, I personally have no interest in toeing the photorealistic line and/or creating unnecessary work for the moderation team. I just happen to like semi-realistic look like the second set because as much as I like anime, the vast majority of flat color anime models have severe case of loliface when not using character loras, and sometimes even then.

We hope to only resort to this remedy in extreme cases.

Given that the punishment mentioned is a permaban, and your vague statements about what that is... this feels like something that needs to be explicitly said? Because I'm drawing a blank.

It's pretty simple. If you have any inkling of "maybe this might cross the line" simply don't post it. I don't write Loli/shota for both personal trauma reasons and legal reasons (Canada comes down super hard on this shit, especially if you're getting payed to do it and allows very little 'it's just a drawing' leeway), and especially as a woman who belongs to certain groups I stay far away from that shit— being a porn writer is dangerous enough for me, if I were doing that kind of stuff someone might actually go vigilante on my ass and call me a groomer n shit.

A similar principle of "could this be interpreted as CSAM by the authorities?" is a good guidline.

Posting blatantly illegal content will result in immediate banning and deletion of the content. (Illegal is classified as content Illegal to own or view in the United States, especially the unambiguous example of RL child porn)

Hard to be clearer than that. Basically, if you post a NSFW AI pic that depict a realistic underage character, we have to ban you for it because we CANNOT fuck around with this.

So basically, do not post NSFW photorealistic underage characters AI pics. If you have to think for a second that it's not actually real instead of it being instantly obvious, that should ring an alarm bell in your head.

In particular, there are three different questions to ask:

- how photorealistic is this?
- how obviously underage is the character?
- how sexually explicit is it?

The recent picture that led to an immediate permaban was high up on all three scales.
