is it still considered necroing if the story or quest has been completed?

Regarding Necrophilia, what content is considered necrophilia and what is not?

I thought that sending messages in a dead thread would be considered Necrophilia, such as:

sending things saying whether you liked the story or not.

And that it wouldn't be considered Necrophilia if you sent messages related to the story, such as: questions about the story and theories (but I found out I was wrong).

Basically:
Rule 7. Unless you have a significant contribution, just let dead threads rest.
what is considered meaningful content?

It's, ah, necromancy. Like, raising the dead. Not necrophilia. Though, your metaphor also kinda works…

Anyway, the rule of thumb is whether it's substantial new content, not a continuance of previous discussion, or commentary on current chapters. This could be a multi-paragraph omake, fanart, linking to a sequel/prequel/spin-off, etc.

So I can write a multi-paragraph omake for a dead thread form 2016, and not get hit?

I doubt it would work with a multi-paragraph thing. For that length of time, you'd probably need a serious story with full, developed plot that ties into itself in a satisfying way.

But my read of the situation is that if you DID have that, it would not be against the rules to post. Though, people might ask you why you hadn't put so much effort into just doing your own story with its own thread.
