  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

I think calling anything "Tumblr" as an insult is slightly political as it is very much stooped in culture war/gamergate type rhetoric. Thus I think using the term as an insult should be intractable as it ties the line of rule 8.

...Who's using "Tumblr" as an insult?! What? Just... What? I Know it's used as a Descriptor but that's more because some things sound like they would be on Tumblr. Or at least the perception of Tumblr. Only way I can figure it would be is if it was queued up in a line of insults.

Given "Tumblr" (and variant forms) being used as an insult, I do think it's reasonable to want the mods to know about the rule 8 related implications. It's obviously not worth editing the rules, but it's worth making some notes in whatever backend moderating materials they use.

That said, if you know of an instance of someone on QQ using "tumblr" as an insult, for fuck's sake report them instead of vagueposting about it.

I'm sure I could find instances on reddit if I felt like looking. Then again, as a Tumblr user, I am also primed to be aware of its possible use as an insult. (It would be somewhat like how "SJW" can be framed as a positive descriptor or as an insult depending on who says it and how.)

EDIT:
Also thank you both for prompting me to reread the rules.
