You breathe, and feel how the malignant stench seems to have left the basement, without grandfather's direct presence. He still swarms here, writhing messily. But his main, primary focus, elsewhere. Within his walking body.
This is important. I can only see Zouken shifting his attention back to his own body if it survived a purpose. Strange since his connection to the worms should let him reincarnate into any of them if his main body was destroyed. That he did it after we can in contact with him is very telling. Perhaps he can easily defeat us at this point, but I think we forced him to reassert his control over the worms that made up his body, that if he hadn't resisted we very well could have consumed him. It's probably just a precaution on his part now, but it suggests that at least on a certain level we're a threat.
I think we should spend some effort claiming the other worms in the basement after a later time, filling them with our sense of Hate & Loathing of him. It's a long shot but I think we might be able to leave an echo in them, a lasting impression that even if he can override it will take effort for him to do. It won't be much but if we manage to actually kill his main body & he's forced to abandon it, he'll either have to abandon his largest supply of worms or form a body out of material we already have a hook in.
[X] Follow after Grandfather and listen to what he has to say. Pay attention if he starts talking about the Matou magecraft. Also try not to be killed by him. You can't kill him if you are killed, can you?
