The initial burst of light from the summoning slowly dispersed, revealing the figure of the summoned Servant in truth.

Tohsaka Rin studied the figure with narrowed, discerning eyes.

Clad fully in white and wearing a half-mask that failed to hide his smile, the man had no real, visible qualities worthy of mention that would distinguish him from any other person... Nothing that would hint at his true identity being some legendary hero, never mind one belonging to the strongest class she wished for.

Huffing in frustration at not immediately finding the answer, she crossed her arms and, with an upturned chin, introduced herself.

"Servant, my name is Tohsaka Rin." The man's smile widened. "From now until the end, I'll be your Master in this Grail War."

The man only let out a small laugh in turn.

With a twitch in her brows, and trying to maintain composure despite the perceived disrespect, Rin demanded with forced calm, "Well, aren't you going to introduce yourself?"

The man's smile diminished, but didn't vanish completely.

"Apologies. It's nice to meet you, Rin." Her brows twitched again at the audacity. "Servant Archer, my true name in life is @$#&#&$&@," he shrugged, "not that I expect it to really resonate with you."

She tried to hide her disappointment as her fears were confirmed. Not only was her Servant not a Saber, she couldn't remember ever hearing of that name!

He struck a thinking pose. "I also go by the title of 'Hidden Light,' if that helps," he finished, his smile widening again, accompanied by a crinkle in his eyes, as if greatly amused by some joke only he knew.

With furrowed brows, Rin tried to concentrate. "That's... @§×€¢@#$?" At his encouraging nod, she continued, "So, probably from @&@#¥% or @(@&$#&$?" she asked.

"@(@&$#&$," he clarified with a nod.

Tapping her foot against the hardwood floor, she tried to remember everything she knew about any feasible heroes of the #&#&#&&@ country in question.

"You're not @$@&$&&#?" she asked with narrowed eyes, trying to will the answer into reality. At least then she would have a place to start with.

"Nope!" he said with a loud pop at the end, confirming himself as a true nobody and simultaneously dashing all her hopes for an easy victory.

With gritted teeth, she tried to find anything that would offer a chance of salvaging the already poor situation she found herself in.

"But you're still a Servant. Surely you've accomplished some legendary feat, something worthy of being recorded in the Throne of Heroes?"

He said his title was 'Hidden Light,' so maybe his legend is that of an obscure archer that was so good, nobody ever saw him before they died? She deluded herself.

Nodding, just as she was starting to let herself believe it, he, yet again, proved himself to be everything she didn't want to be true.

"Of course," he proclaimed with a puffed-up chest. "I discovered the truth to everything!"

Completely still and in a monotone voice, she forced out, "And. What. Does. That. Mean?"

"What it sounds like. In life, I was just a regular person without any real power, and often found myself alone. Just me and my thoughts," he recounted with a nostalgic smile. "So, left with no other options, I thought a lot. I thought really hard. Like, really, really hard," he stressed. "...And then everything made sense!" He finished with a bright and innocent smile.

"You... 'Thought really hard.'" She prayed she had heard wrong. "That's it?" That couldn't be it. She was missing something, a crucial piece of information that would make it all make any sense—

"Yup, that's it. Pretty awesome, huh?" His smile could have blinded the sun.

She felt like the ground had given way beneath her. Stumbling, it was as if her soul was leaving her body in that moment.

"Whoa, are you okay there? I can—" He started to approach her and offer support, but she only raised a hand in response, stopping him.

Righting herself, she took a deep breath and gathered herself.

"...You said you 'discovered the answer to everything.'" She paraphrased, her voice barely a whispered.

Wearing a worried expression, he nonetheless nodded in confirmation.

"Right. Right. That's... I can work with that. Then— Then you can teach me some form of magecraft nobody else knows. We don't have much time before the War kicks off, but there must exist at least something out there that would help—" Her ramblings were cut off by a cough.

She slowly turned her head to look at her Servant.

"Um, sorry. I don't... really know any magecraft." He scratched his head awkwardly. "I was only a normal human, remember? Not a magus or wizard or whatever."

Speechless, she could only stare at him in silent incredulity.

Seeing her expression, he took a few steps back. "That's... um, quite the scary expression you've got there... Sorry?" he finished with a feeble laugh.

Noticing her clench her fists and prepare for violence, he shouted in alarm, "Wait! Please, wait! I might not know magecraft, but I do have one mystery I can share!"

She slowly unclenched her fists and looked back at him in wariness, still suspicious and half-expecting even more nonsense.

"My own," he said, smiling. "The one true mystery. The mystery that is so great, just knowing its correct answer was enough for me to enter the Throne, even as a regular nobody... I can share its answer with you. I'd be glad to, in fact! So, deal?" He looked at her expectantly.

The more she listened, the more she found herself relaxing. It made sense, after all... So what if he didn't know any magecraft? Most magi knew countless spells, and they had no hope for a legend so great it was recorded in the Throne of Heroes.

If just knowing the answer to whatever that mystery is was enough for a mundane nobody to be recorded, just how great, how profound must it be?

Maybe it would even help her attain some sort of enlightenment. If so, who's to say she couldn't then use it for her own spells?!

Nodding to herself and smiling for the first time since she summoned the strangest Servant, she asked, "Alright, deal! I'm ready, give it to me!"

Clapping in excitement, he answered, "Alright, here it goes. The final, true answer to everything is..." She leaned in, practically vibrating in anticipation. "...Yes!" he proclaimed with a booming laugh, sweeping both arms wide to his sides as if trying to hug the room.

She waited for him to continue.

He only smiled in response, arms still held wide to the sides in a grandiose manner.

She fainted.

And so, the Fifth Holy Grail War began.

For a self-insert to be real, everything has to be real. The self-insert "discovered" that everything = yes. That's the legendary feat that anybody can accomplish by themselves.

It's a comedy, basically. 😁
Now you've made me curious, we need a second chapter of this...

...Or at least the servant stats

I do have *some* ideas on how to proceed, but I can't say for sure that I will, sorry!

However, any power he displays would need to involve an "outside" force.

My initial idea for that outside source was a biblically accurate big G, God. And the comedy would be maintained by the MCs inability of doing anything "Evil".

So healing, smiting evil, motivational speeches etc, etc. All that good stuff.

Thoughts?
