Tough choice. I wonder what our rival is like.
My only worry about the Northern Court is that it's queen is part of a sect under scrutiny, and the sect is considered a cult by some.

From the Six Major Schools, Four are Unaligned: the Hundred Herbs School, the Eight Virtues School, the Water Mirror School, and the Seven Stars Sword School.
The Three Major Sects are unaligned:: the Clear Wind Sect, the Twin Dragon Sect, and the Peach Blossom Sword Sect.
From the Two Major Clans, one is unaligned (maybe): the River Snake Clan.
The One Major Association is unaligned: the Black Cat Brotherhood.
From the Four Pillars, none are unaligned.

That's 9 neutral factions out of 16 factions total. 7 factions could become invoked in a conflict.
Depending on this choice, the Northern Court can have three of the four pillars on her side. Or the Southern Court and the Northern Court could have the Four Pillars split between themselves.
The Four Pillars are Mighty Sects, while the Schools, Clans, Association, and Major Sects are classified in the same blob of "Major Sect" level, below Mighty Sect.
