The united States was dying. It had been dying for a long time. There had been a tumor ever...

This is just a snippet I made for the BattleTech thread.Natasha definitely. her and the other CLanners. The IS Dragoons might be confused on the matter and rightfully so.
I keep thinking James Cameron Aliens level tech is perfect for the US.
I also kind like the idea that while the US lagged behind in material sciences for things like Battlemechs and modern weapons, they excelled in computer sciences and have Synthetics.
Some of them. Are you planning to use any of the things I came up with in the Ideas thread?
Welcome to FASANOMICs.It's a good thing I studied economics at the university," sobering up, Pinckney looked at his attache and said, "We've got a lot of work to do in front of us."
We can take them, we just need every single clan to build up to around 10 times the Snow Raven's current fleet. Easy peasy.Natasha and Jaime stood side by side, watching the Americans. An idle thought made Natasha wonder, "Who do you think would win? Us or them?"
There was no need for her to say who she meant by 'us'.
Jaime scoffed, "Us of course, there is simply no contest. Man for man, I expect it would be a walkover. But I have no doubt they would put up a decent fight, if these marines are any indication."
"And what about their warships? Assuming they are not bluffing."
"You heard the Ambassador. The United States has not been to war for centuries. We have been fighting non-stop. We would need to buildup the fleets, but we could beat them. It would take some time is all."
There were others who did not think so. And privately, Jaime wondered why the Clans did not mention the United States in their history.
There where nearly 280 McKenna class battleships alone, and another 52 Texas Class Battleships, 40 Cameron class cruisers and 20 Tharkard class battle-cruisers. Those are just ships we have canonical numbers on, according to Sarna there are 53 named Lola II destroyers, 26 named Sovetskii Soyuz heavy crusiers, 19 named Samarkand carriers, 39 named Potemkin. There are certainly more ships in each of these class than just those named in fiction, and there are dozens of other warship classesEven the star league at its height didn't have a thousand warships in service. At the time of the coup I believe the number for the SL and House Lords combined was somewhere in the ballpark of 900 active duty warships.
I see. I will have to consider this. They would not have thousands of warships. They'd have maybe a hundred.

No, it doesn't at all.At any rate the Americans having that large a fleet just makes it boring because they will win ANY war they care to fight. ANY time they intervene is going to be just a "Oh the Yanks are here to orbitally bombard us into submission again?" moment. It eliminates the tension and makes the other Factions trivial.
