France have 3 enemies:
1.Habsburgs - they are emperors, so could not be destroyed, but Hungarian could keep them in check. Remember to not let take Habsburgs over Hungary! especially be wary of marriages - i do not care who marry Hungarian king children, but they could not be Habsburgs.
2.Spain - Too powerful to be destroyed - but, when you gave them taken territories, you could have peace - AS LONG AS HABSBURGS DO NOT MARRY THERE.
3.England - weak enough to be invaded and partitioned among Scotland and English nobles. Since there was not such thing like English nation yet, people would not care.
More important thing - remember, that main Habsburg weapon is marriage. So - do not let them marry in Spain and Hungary.
I thought Charles' regency ended when he was 21, he only inherited the throne when he was 13. Wasn't Brittany independent at this time?GOVERNMENT OF FRANCE
- Charles VIII of Valois, King of France, ends his regency on his thirteenth birthday and governs with full rights.

-Anna of France, Viscounts of Tours: Royal treasurer.
- Louis II of Trémoille, Viscount of Thouars: General of the royal army.
- Renato of Valois, Duke of Alençon, Prince of the Blood: Admiral of France.
- Gilbert of Bourbon, Duke of Montpensier, Prince of the Blood: Seneschal.
King's Squires
- Louis of Armagnac, Count of Guise.
- Francis, Count of Vendôme.
- Charles, Count of Clermont, son of Anna of France.
Nobles of France
- Louis II of Orleans, Duke of Orleans, Prince of the Blood: heir presumptive to the French throne.
- Francis II of Brittany, Duke of Brittany.
-Rene II of Lorraine, Duke of Lorraine
- Charles of Orleans, Count of Angoulême, Prince of the Blood.
- John II of Burgundy, Count of Rethel, Prince of the Blood.
- Alano of Albret, Lord of Albret, Viscount of Tartas.
- Amalric IV of Châtellerault, Viscount of Châtellerault.
-There are other nobles but these are the most powerful in France.
- Prince of the Blood: is a person legitimately descended in male line from kings of France.
- It is customary to call the nobles by their most important title, for example Charles of Orleans, Count of Angoulême, everyone calls him Angoulême
I thought Charles' recency ended when he was 21, he only inherited the throne when he was 13. Wasn't Brittany independent at this time?
In general, the terms of regency are very variable, it can be from 12 to 21 years depending on the king, according to what I have read in several kings it seems that the regents give power to the king when they see that the king is emotionally mature (not crazy ) and can make good decisions.I thought Charles' regency ended when he was 21, he only inherited the throne when he was 13. Wasn't Brittany independent at this time?
492 / 5.000Habsburgs would lost Vienna to Hungarian Black Army in 1485 and would be under their boots till 1490,so you are safe till then.
As long as you ensure that King Matthias illegitimate son would become next monarch, everything would be OK.
But Orlean and other french nobles could made problems.
P.S if you need good soldiers and have money, just hire part of hungarian Black Army - as long as you would have alliance with Hungary, that would be no problems.
