I'm still not sure what exactly those standing stones do, or why everyone freaks out when he says that (or worse mentions which particular ones).
They are thin spots in reality AND a high mana saturation area, so you can practically summon something by sneezing at a wrong moment. And there are THINGS that can come over to this side that you don't want here e.g. eldritch abominations, Jahovah witnesses, demons, lawyers etc.
I doubt the average person or prospector would know that this is possible. There's also enough lost and banned knowledge that the mention that it is in another timeline is probably unknown.
That would be an excellent point, except the Diagon alley is INSIDE an alternative timeline AND this fact is not from a restricted book. So at a minimum, wizards ALREADY partially inhabit a second planet. This feels like a plot hole to me. If there was a massive barrier around the alley (to block access both ways) and some sort of Fidelius variant (to make people not notice/remember this fact), then this at least would fit the "lost and banned knowledge" narrative. Like, at the very basic, imagine a child in the diagon alley getting startled, teleports randomly (like Harry in canon) and ends up outside of Alley on the alternative Earth "with no humans or civilization". What would stop that? Even 200% total secrecy would not help here surely.
