  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

I could go into a rant about why Nintendo does consoles right and Sony and Microsoft don't, and why Nintendo get a pass from the Glorious PC Master Race as a result, but I doubt many of you would be interested so I shall refrain.
I wouldn't mind hearing about it.

Well, you did ask... From the Wii onwards Nintendo has done two things to distinguish its consoles from their Xbox and Playstation contemporaries. They've added a distinctive feature that is genuinely difficult to replicate with a gaming PC (the Wii's motion controls, the Wii U's tablet-gamepad, the whole concept of the Switch) and they've been smart enough that the only way to win the graphics arms race is not to play and instead designed and marketed their consoles squarely at casual gamers and kids instead of trying to capture the adult market.

The PS4 and Xbox One, on the other hand, are pretty much just gaming PCs but worse. They're trying to capture the same market, predominantly adults aged 18 to 35 who are interested in shooters, action RPGs and other "mature" games and actually care about graphical fidelity... except that you can't upgrade it or fix it yourself when it breaks, online multiplayer requires an annual subscription fee and you can't use them for anything but games or streaming video and music. They're not even particularly competitive price-wise; you can build a PC that's as powerful or slightly better for the same money if you don't mind spending a couple of hours slotting everything together, and then have a device you can use for anything from doing your taxes to making videogames instead of just playing them.
