Chi-Chi worried. But then, she always worried.

When the twins were born, and as both grew up, she pushed Gohan and Akito to study. Akito seemed to grasp his lessons quickly enough, but as his mother she could tell his heart was never truly in it.

Then Goku's brother came and she had to wait a year to see her boys again





She had never seen Akito in such a condition. Gohan had come back looking a little scraped up, but Krillin explained what had actually happened that Akito had, again and again, thrown himself in front of every attack meant for Gohan. Every single one. While Nappa tore through the battlefield, it was Akito who took the worst of it, refusing to let his brother fall.

Then, when Gohan left for Namek, Akito chose to stay behind and train on Earth a while



longer before heading over with Goku. From the look on Goku's face, he was happy to have him tag along. And when Akito handled ten times gravity without breaking a sweat, Goku made no effort to hide how impressed he was. According to him, Akito was exceeding expectations in leaps and bounds.



Then the Cell Games happened.

In the lead-up, Goku took both boys into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber each spending a full year training at his side. When Goku put Akito forward to face Cell, Akito fought him to a



standstill, pushing Cell so far to the edge that Cell chose to self-destruct rather than accept defeat.

Which led to Goku sacrificing himself.





— Flashback —

Akito's thoughts: Damn it. I guess no matter how hard I trained since being reborn here, I still couldn't protect this planet. Even after watching the anime to an obnoxious level.

He watched his father's back as Goku turned away from him.



"Akito." Goku's voice was steady. "Don't go beating yourself up over this. You did beat Cell. Even I wasn't expecting him to blow himself up when things didn't go his way."

He paused.

"And please once this is all over, take a break. Remember to enjoy life. You've been so tense. Don't go trying to put everything on your



shoulders all the time." A quiet breath. "I'm proud of both you and Gohan."

Goodbye, my son.







— End Flashback —

From what she was told, when Cell came back, Akito ascended to Super Saiyan 2.

And now, here they were seven years later.





Gohan, have you seen Akito and Goten? I'd like to see how your uniforms look before your first day."



Gohan glanced up from the table. "Akito took Goten to play with Trunks. And knowing him, he's sparring with Vegeta right now since he'll need to hold off until Sunday once school starts



"We both start tomorrow. Orange Star High here we come."

Chi-Chi laughed softly despite herself.





— POV: Akito —

"

That's enough for today. It's getting late."

Vegeta dropped out of Super Saiyan 2. Akito did the same, rolling his shoulders.

"Aw, look at you going soft, Geets."





He felt a firm blow to the back of his head.

"Watch the nicknames if you still want me to teach you, fool."



Akito smirked. "Hey, don't act like it's a waste of your time. We both get a decent sparring



partner out of this, and I get to learn more about Saiyan history. Works for me."





— Timeskip: Midnight, the Son House —

Akito's thoughts: Well. Looks like the seven years of peace are almost up m which means the Majin Buu saga is coming. I'm surprised the Time Patrol never caught wind of me. Maybe I wasn't enough of a change to the timeline. Or maybe they just didn't notice.

Right — serious talk. This is something I've glossed over twice, made about six chapters of before I had to stop and delete everything and step back for a moment.

In those earlier drafts I brought in things like him being a Time Patroller. I even had different ideas about who to pair him with — TFS Puddin, for example, because the chaos of that felt genuinely funny in my head.

But something kept building in my mind, and I think I can make it work.

If I do go that route, there's only one way I'd introduce that character — and that's Weiss Schnee from RWBY. Now, before anyone says it: yes, completely different universe. This would simply be a version of her meaning I could set it up so the Schnee Dust Company exists as a competitor to Capsule Corp. She'd be best friends with Videl, which makes sense given that Gohan is still going to become the Great Saiyaman. And gohan can still be with his future wife Vidal and yea this is sort a summary of events so far and cannon might not have
yeah thier a reason That he didn't have that much effect on the timeline in my mind

Being as young as he was and with chi chi style

Hed struggle to find time to actually train properly
For the threats I.e sayian saga and Namek he trained with Goku on the way thier

Gero would have still been moinatring the fights on earth

Now that Hes well old enough and promised to at least Attend high school when the time
Comes he spent most of his time doing nothing but training And thier could be stuff that I'd expand on during the actual strory
