Video Games General

The funniest thing I've heard about Endfield is people ragebaiting others by coming up with the worst possible factory setups and then posting them online. Just incredibly funny to me.
this...this deeply amuses me
I might just do the exact same thing when i get further in story and unlock all the factory stuff

Terraria last updates can be summed up as

Okay, Squirrel with a gun, fantastic choice of secret boss. Won't spoil it, but surprisingly epic.

...But now I have to try and do the level leading up to it without dying once for the rest of the garment bonuses. It'll be easier since I don't have to look for the gold acorns, but I have a feeling I'm in for a lot of resets.

There's a demo for Nioh 3 now. I wasn't sure about it before but, actually experiencing it is pretty fun, even if it is kinda silly. Definitely gonna need to practice the whole switching styles to counter enemy heavy attacks thing though cuz I have no idea how to time that yet. Combat feels maybe a bit more fluid but, I could be imagining that due to not having played the others in a while.

What Supervillain do you sic them on?

A heads-up: Square Enix is releasing a "new version" of Final Fantasy VII on Steam (no details on what the difference is). The present version will be re-named to "Final Fantasy VII – 2013 Edition" and no longer available for purchase, but still available to those who already own it. Anyone who owns the present version will get the new version free. Save files won't be compatible between the two versions.

As good a time to acquire the "old" version of FF7 as any. It's even on sale rn. And considering re-releases don't have a sterling track-record, I'm just gonna make sure I have the 2013 edition in case they did some terrible stuff.

Eh, I'll get my eyepatch out if I want to play original FF7 and my PS2 decides to give up the ghost. I've even still got the discs, so it wouldn't even require much sailing.

Something I really appreciate in Code Vein 2. The most vital collectables in each region are not only visible on the overworld map (the upgrade items for your regeneration/estus and the region buffs), but pretty much every dungeon has one of them in addition to the rest of its loot, so exploration and clearing side dungeons is more worthwhile than in Elden Ring. The fact that you can change up your build basically at will also helps with that. You are guaranteed to get something of value to whatever you doing by exploring, which is not always the case in more traditional Souls Likes. Those region buffs, the pathos, are also a nice way of letting players modulate difficulty. So if you are bouncing hard off the major boss fight of the zone, you can go and clear some side content to not only to get more levels, but also to get those buffs to help narrow the gap. And of course the git gud try hards can have them all turned off to assert dominance.

I started playing Fear and Hunger…

Deep breath… out… in—torches!

Oh my fucking God riding on an elephant! What the fucking fuck is wrong with that piece of shit on a stick? Why the fuck can't I find any?!!! And why the fuck can't I find a single goddamn stick?! I've got tons of everyshit else, but the one thing I need? Nope. Fu—cking stickS.

I didn't feel like doing anything else and had way too much free time, so I decided to give the game a shot even though it's really not my thing. I love the lore, but I'm not a masochist....

And exactly what I expected happened:

I ate a lot of dicks. Like, an absurd amount. Then I unlocked a whole new level of hatred for dogs and those fucking jellyfish. And I almost quit, I really reaaaally almost quit.

Then, on what was supposed to be my last run out of pure spite, I got wrecked by one of the guards, lost both legs, and ended up in the meat pit. At that point I just don't want to know anything more about it, I just went, "fuck it, we ball."

And somehow it actually went great. I was literally crawling through the dungeons and made it surprisingly far in a single run. I recruited the femboy, met the emo femboy, rescued the girl, even fed the doggo.

But now I can't keep going because I don't have any fucking torches! Agggghhjhjrrlll!

I'll really have to use cheats for infinite item? 'Cause I don't see any way to continue this run.

I really enjoyed NPC Dreams(NSFW) and the way it used its flag based progression where I had to sequence break in order to obtain key items that become unavailable as the game progressed to get the true ending, are there any other games that do something similar?

I'm digging the lore so far, I'm guessing that the push to have CV2 stand apart from the original is so they can have it as it's own proper standalone setting.

As a fan of the first, I had my doubts, but they seem to have pulled it off nicely.

Lots of focus on the different Revenant clans, houses within those clans and their politics.

Gula: Some sort of French/Japanese mix, golden oni horns & eyepatches seem to be their visible trait. Noted to usually be small but strong due to high metabolism. Bloodline ability seems to focus on absorbing blood, it also causes Frenzy issues when shared between twins which has led to a bloodline wide taboo (likely because Gula = Gluttony). Apparently the Anjou house was founded by Astolfo.

Patientia: Subordinate bloodline to the Ira, seemingly Irish/Scottish influenced. Golden Scar-like markings are their visible trait. Have mechanical leanings both in their factory fort and in their magic which uses cogs and lightning. Apparently their homeland has major class divide between Ira & Patientia bloodlines so the Mcleish house left to find a new homeland on the frontier.

Luxuria: Golden hats grow out of their heads to shade their faces, seemingly Spanish. Self-sacrificial healing that can affect even diseases that plague the otherwise immortal revenants, means their lifespans, should they use their abilities often, are much less than immortal due to the mutagenic recoil. Very low numbers due to this and have a poor replenishment rate.
The clan named after Lust are fucking terrible at breeding, too busy being self-sacrificial.

Superbia: Vein-like Golden growths, also usually quite tall. Meritocracy where the leader is the most talented of their generation, have become the defacto leaders of the Frontier due to their progenitor, Idris, saving the world at one point. Have time related powers like knowing what changes have occurred in a timeline, monitoring dead timelines, time travel, etc. Known for taking in orphans.
Humilitas is their Subordinate house of mercenaries.

Acedia: Little known since we have only the one example and she runs all the shops. Crown-like growth, can be in multiple places at once and can make minions. Laziness maxing. Apparently rarely have the ability to move between parallel worlds, which of course they use to find the most convenient to laziness max, this has consequences on the local space-time however.

I swear Revenents are like the opposite of crabs, everything evolves into crabs, Revenants devolve into every other horror movie monster.

Werewolves? Beast Blooded revenants.
Tokyo Ghoul ghouls? Hunters using Jails made from studying Revenants.
Ghosts, Zombies? Revenant land memory pollution.
Gorgons? Mutated Revenants.
Succubi? Revenants with a certain blood condition.

And that's just from what I've encountered, no doubt there are more.
