Video Games General

Wear Havel's armor. You can find it in Anor Londo. Doesn't matter if you can't roll in it, just tank everything and spank them.
I can try that, any suggestions for my weapon? I'm currently using the Claymore but I have a good chunk of the weapons available to me at the moment including the Demon Machette.

DPS is the only thing that matters for the 4 kings. Zweihander works pretty well for it, but you should probably have pretty high level weapons at this point.

Have you gone back to the Asylum yet?

Oh! And remember to upgrade your armor at the various smiths.

I've been upgrading my kit, I have all but one(?) Ember and I've been interspacing my attempts with the Kings with trying to get Slabs from Darkwraiths.

There's a guaranteed slab from the Stray Demon in the Asylum, though you don't need it for upgrading your armor.

I'm tired of beating my head against the wall in Dark Souls 1, does anyone have any suggestions to help me beat the Four Kings?
Is the problem not being able to kill them fast enough? They are kind of weak to lightning so you can try to upgrade your weapon to have it, though, imo be hyper agressive, a normal boss would punish you for it but the four kings individually don't do that much damage and the closer you are to them the less damage they'll do with most of their attacks(watch out for the grab tho) so you can afford to go as ham as possible in the hopes of killing them before the next comes up.

Defensively speaking, magic resistant stuff will save you, like the crest shield from oscar, and again, sticking to them to take less damage and have less chances of being targeted by an actual spell, if you're into int then great magic shield does the same job, except way better.

Recently watched Maxor's Pirate Yakuka In Hawaii video. It looks just as unhinged as I remember the game being, but now that I've seen it again, I kind of want a story (or just another game) that focuses on the sort of psychotic world where you just roam around in a heavily armed vehicle recruiting homeless people into an army.

Actually, I remember when the Saints Row Remake came out, I wrote a premise for a story that basically went "Yeah, this game looks like trash, but I like the idea of a setting where the entire world just kind of accepts things like the third-street saints doing whatever they want."
The premise at the start of the game is just a heist on a payday loan place to get rent money.
Just a group of four absolute fucking losers deciding to start a street-gang and somehow the police are absolutely powerless to stop them.

It's not even just a matter of personal power or charisma or whatever. It's just that... warrants for your arrest seem to canonically expire after like 20 minutes and you can just do crimes with your face visible on 30 diffrent cameras and more-or-less live completely outside the law and then not really bother hiding from the police, and they won't do anything about it.

It's a world where nobody takes anything seriously, so you getting into a gunfight with cops and putting a bunch of policemen in bodybags somehow doesn't result in a state-wide manhunt that doesn't end until you're dead or in cuffs.

I just love the idea of "Fuck it, I've decided to build an army. I've sourced a comically small amount of startup capital and we're just going to go pay hobos one beer each to join our pirate crew."

I guess Mount & Blade is kind of like that. You just roll up in some bumfuck village and be like "Yo, i'm building an army. Any man who can hold a spear, come with me. I'll have you kill a couple of people until you can be promoted into a veteran warrior and then we'll conquer the world." and an endless supply of expendable young men will just leap at the chance.

I'm a 'knight' with a pyromancer subclass, I got three slots and the Daughter's of Chaos Coven.
In that case I think you can probably afford to wear something like Havel's set for poise and defense?

Tho, great combustion is THE pyromancy for them, from what I remember if you land them all up close(assuming you actually maxed pyromancy flame) you can kill two of the kings quickly, after that great chaos fireball and great fireball should do the job

Another good pyromancy spell for them is Chaos Firestorm.

Depending on whether or not an oil rig counts as a vehicle, this is basically just the plot of Metal Gear Solid V.

So. RE Requiem dropped and I've been playing it a lot today. A lot of it has been fun, but there are entirely too many stalker enemies in this game. And the main one is easily the most obnoxious. The great thing about Mr. X in Re2make is that you could down him with a powerful weapon for a decent amount of time, and also, he was slow, and easy to sidestep.

The main pursuer in Requiem is so large and wide, and you mainly fight it in narrow corridors, so stepping around it usually isn't an option, unless you're also willing to take a hit. The only way you can stun it momentarily, is by using the Requiem magnum. Which doesn't exactly have abundant ammo, and is better served on enemies you can actually kill.

This design has led to me just having to wait around a lot, because it moves so slowly on it'd patrol, and seems to always move in the direction I need to go. Bravo, Capcom, this fucking sucks. Please let me go back to the fun part of the game.

Just took a crack at the Windrose demo.
I haven't gotten around to recruiting an army of hobos to slaughter my enemies, but it's a very neat pirate-themed survival-craft game.
Running around with sword in one hand and a pistol in the other is a great aesthetic.

I feel like I'm shifting from furry to unironic werewolf fetishist(which is still furry but at least I don't deny it) but anyway I've been brainstorming a foil for Silver from Deadlock.

I really should ask one of my friends for access to it.

Anyway, a foil who's kind of like am inverted remix with clear differences compared to the two vampires Drifter and Mina.

Where Silver is literally just Loona if she was a werewolf bounty hunter who's technically on the side of the law, I'm thinking her foil should be a guy from an established werewolf clan who may or may not be a Worgen expy. Not Greymane since we already have a pepper haired DILF, and someone who isn't too Posh like Apollo. Maybe Blaidd? And I don't think Valve is willing to add an unironically bigoted character who balances it out by being sufficiently ethnic.

Since my idea is someone from an established werewolf Clan who has a different transformation system, possibly based on a rejection of humanity without devolving into a feral animal but rather viewing it as their true form while their human form is a mask.

Overall, some guy with a completely different transformation system who's unironically racist and wants to eat Billy.

Edit:
Another route is he's a Protestant werewolf who gets on Venator's nerves.

Edit2:
The only werewolf I've experienced playing as Gameplay Wise is from Streets of Rogue where you transform at will and have a limited time in a berserker-state before returning to human form. Which kind of goes against my idea but could work for someone who was actually raised by other werewolves, rather than transforming from Blood Lust like Silver.

I have been looking forward to the full version of one 2d mecha action game called Project Landsword. It actually looks genuinely fun, and gameplay looks simple enough for even casuals to understand.

Neverness to Everness coming in April, another Gacha Game coming for our souls.

...It appears to be Anime Gacha GTA Urban Fantasy. I'm intrigued.

EDIT:
Except they will actually put your ass in jail for attacking NPCs, and you have to stay there for several (I assume in-game) days or pay a fine. And they'll keep you longer if you act up and fuck around in prison.

...I'll laugh my ass off if there's a Get Out Of Jail Free Card.

Though there are also minigames you can do in prison to make money, presumably to pay the fine if you can't, including powerwash simulator, apparently.

Car customization also looks pretty extensive, and different dealerships around the city apparently sell different brands of cars (one does off-road, one has sportscars, etc.)

As for the combat, it looks pretty standard for open-world gachas as they've developed lately- dodge and character-swap timing and such.

But the neat thing was that the enemy was disguised as a truck, and only when the player looked closely did they notice the tentacles in the edges. That's pretty weird, but for Urban Fantasy it's pretty on-genre, which is neat.
