Afraid this is a bit later than planned, thanks to a series of computer glitches, fuck you very much AVG. Anyways, moving on to the per-round vote totals, in this round's voting, Recoil reclaimed the top spot with a whopping 195 votes. (Anyone know what the highest ever performance in a round was?) Rounding out the top three performances are Trump Card with 175 votes and I, Panacea with 169. At the other end of the spectrum, the bottom three performances start out with Meet the Heberts, which got 68 votes, followed by Danny & Taylor with 60, and then by All Alone, which only garnered a paltry 55 votes this time around. No surprise that NSW continues to turn in the best performance among the NSFW stories, picking up 90 votes in this round. I know it's not really Ack related, but after about a year's hiatus, Heromaker's Legacy is back! New chapter posted like 15 min ago! With The Grum's writing habits, that means it's likely he has at least 10 more chapters ready to slowly dole out to us (he likes having a sizable 'buffer' while writing new material)!

*edit- He's reported his current "buffer" as around 30k words of written material.

Well, to be fair, Taylor Varga was a pretty good substitute for my Heromaker's Legacy fix (a lot more frequent too, though not quite as regular), so I didn't feel it that strongly.

That said, still very nice to have it back! I wasn't sure if it ever would get updated. I'd probably need to re-read it though...

It shows the (near) meaninglessness of the voting system when an "eliminated" story gets so many updates. Not that I'm complaining; that wasn't previously one of the stories I was into, but with the flurry of updates lately I finally read it and now am curious how it turns out.

I'm beyond thrilled that Slippery Slope will continue updating, but what's going to happen to the leftover votes? Will they just vanish? Maybe you could divide them among the other stories on the inactive list? Or just give them to one other story? (Maybe the next story that gets on the voting list) Because both of those latter options could provide a much needed boost.

The fics not on the voting list have always been "when Ack feels like it" for updates (for that matter, the fics ON the voting list can fall into this category as well). Sometimes that means lots of updates, sometimes that means none.

Amelia was a good one.

A few decent longer Worm fics:
Taylor Varga (I think it's around 500k words atm... and still going)
Heromaker's Legacy (recently back after a year long hiatus, cross with an original fic 'Break Them All')
Ship's Administration (Worm/StarTrek/Sea Queens crossover)
Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (quest, Worm/Nanoha)
Manager
Constellation (not that big by itself yet, but include the omakes and it's MASSIVE; has to be almost 100 omakes for the thing)
And there's always re-reading Worm itself, 1.75 million words isn't to be scoffed at.

Just passed a million actually (counting the threadmarked omakes).
Well on the way to becoming the first Worm fic longer than canon (though IIRC there's another competitor in this category).

Amelia started out good... but there's a point, different for every reader, where enough becomes enough and the narrative becomes too soul-crushing to continue. My experience lasted about 150-200 chapters longer than the average and the fic still kept going afterwards.

Read Wildworm instead. The title indicates an SI, but that's not actually true. It's more like a version of Dire Worm, that trades away the ham for Tarantinoan (or, more appropriately for the crossover source, Wildstormian) snark and ultraviolence.
Cauldron Cape Chronicles was a quest of decent length, but it's been dead for over two years so you can treat it like a fic.
Covenant has been going for a while and it deserves way more attention than it actually receives.

For non-Worm stuff, there's always With This Ring (Young Justice SI with an Orange Lantern Ring), Dynasty of Dynamic Alcoholism (Warhammer Fantasy quest as Ostland), and Ashes of the Past (Pokemon anime-verse Peggy Sue). Those will tide you over for a few months at least.
