RWBY, in "
Save the world? Fuck that, I want to make money" by

Okay, so...
1) Local Power: Aura. Easy enough to understand, but good to have, otherwise looking soulless to others would potentially be a really bad thing. Figure a ton of training needed to make a proper use of it. It would be amazing if this could also grant Magic, but that seems to be a very limited Local Power following the age of the Brother Gods walking the Remnant's surface prior to Salem's temper-tantrum worthy of a 5 year old.
2) Timeline appears to be prior to the events of the actual canonical RWBY, with Winter not yet a Specialist but in training, preparing to graduate, so got some time to see how things will go. The Weyland family presence would also make for interesting shift, so following whether or not the protagonist of the tale has returned to start changing the company for the new shift would be interesting.
3) Minor Ability from Out of Setting: Inexhaustible Mining (Graveyard Keeper) - Being able to mine stuff without actually removing the material from the source would make for some interesting changes. Locate a big "source block" of iron? Chip away at it and get more than the source-block should realistically even be able to contain, without reducing it at all. Meaning slow but unending source of materials, from an ore-vein that isn't depleted by the mining. This could help with mining dust without running out too, but that seems secondary priority with the Weylands. Signing up to join them with a "mining semblance" as excuse, helping excavate materials that might otherwise be difficult to find in sufficient amounts, even just locating 1 rich enough node despite a potentially small size could mean having some of the more difficult to acquire materials flowing to the Weylands at a steady rate.
Given the situation, I'd likely end up in Atlas and with Aura unlocked, it would be best to get some training with that, but with the changes coming, might seek to get hired by the Weylands even at a lower wage if necessary as inexperienced newcomer because the family looks to be going places and being in the Atlas Academy seems a good way to be nudged towards joining Atlas Military sooner or later. Getting trained by the mercenary forces, learning how to fight, getting hands on some reliable guns that don't need fancy transformation sequences that could be jammed or break, while helping gather materials to keep mining at it.
Probably in trouble if/when Salem decides to throw another hissy-fit and start acting instead of sulking, but in the meanwhile providing a service that ought to have a bit of value to the company and thus paid fairly for it, while having protection and learning to protect myself, improving on things and learning, and working for a simple enough goal: Making some money by utilizing the skills given and learning how to fight to keep that money too, and working for a Gun-Manufacturer? You better believe I'd be looking to gear up and if there is employee discounts, then getting some good guns and plenty of ammo would be there on the list.
I had a ton of other ideas for the Minor Ability section that would help but I found most of those might be a tad too powerful, so went with one of the least-powerful minor abilities to satisfy the 'minor' part there. Because having a full Minecraftian digging and crafting system & health system on top with immortality totems would no longer count as 'minor', even if something like Fortnite or 7 Days to Die style building, scavenging, and Fortifying a position in the end-days style power could be amusing in setting up Weyland facilities swiftly to become easily defensible outposts for one purpose or another.
Idle thoughts having fun.
