Incidentally, on the subject of Isekais, have you ever thought that canon-Vult might himself have been an isekai, and the "original story" was just some generic fantasy harem game?

Not at the moment. I was mainly writing it at a friend's insistence and their focus seems to have shifted somewhere else.

About Vult... That's an interesting thought. Though considering how skimpy female armor is in general, it makes one wonder about local deities. And who and why might have responsible for his Isekai.

Ahh OGRE is a fantastic setting but I can see how building a story around it would be hard when your protagonist is running a small fry goblin instead of a super tank. Also a really neat Lancer/battletech crossover by Vagabond Lancer, not a Mechwarrior just dropped you might want to take a look at.

A GEV(or any of the other 'conventional' vehicles from Ogre) would ironically be easier to write about in Battletech than the Cybertanks. Mostly because you don't need a purposefully modified Dropship to move a GEV, unlike the Cybertanks.

Distractions and stress is what stalled this and most of my various stories and games over the years.

Cool, depending on what direction you take her you could go for Jimmy Newton, bulma briefs, and or I think it was AJ from fairly odd parents for the tech focused. Cause Bulma made a time machine in a reality that only let God's or God blessed to time travel. For the more martial arts or magic focused their are hundreds if not thousands per genre

I have, but most of it would have just been me making up alien fish biology and getting jumped by Leviathans, so I'm not sure how enjoyable that is long-term.

Maybe it could just be the technology the Subnatica MC has and the crashed ship but on a different planet, maybe the different planet could be in the Star Wars or Mass Effect Universe. Some sort of interdimensional rift could have caused the crash instead, which explains why it crashed and ended up in a different universe.
