It's fine in literature but this is games with multiple party members. You'd just be like: "Then the wizard used time stop and killed the enemy." or "The wizard used time stop and the party shanked the enemy."

It's fine if you nerf it somehow like it only works on lower tier enemies or there are limits as to what you can do in time stop or any other nerf but unlimited true time stop just can't be balanced in dnd.

Pro Tip from an author who just experienced this:

When a reader tells an Author that asked for their opinion on a chapter, that it doesn't feel like their work, and that it's too verbose, because they're writing the POV of a very formal and verbose character, even going so far as to say "They don't wanna read all that"... it tends to make the author not want to write that fic anymore.

Especially if you were someone they trusted to give an honest and critical review, and you basically implied they didn't even write the work they spent days working on, due to extreme pain and migraines all the way through, while coordinating and working on other projects with other authors, that have a higher priority.

I've thought about it, and to a certain extent those fics gave me the idea to use this CYOA power for the latest fic.

Maybe I'll do one in the future, after getting the hang of a similar concept.
I read your fic Big Iron on His Hip (DC SI) and thought the skill‑point system was the best I've seen.
Systems often overpower a story, but here it supported the story instead of becoming the focus. Karma points were interesting, though I feel they'd work better as rarer, high‑impact resources.
With hindsight, what are your thoughts on Big Iron now?
