Meta perks are kinda hard to define, honestly, because they are basically just perks. I know there's at least one that goes overboard but I can't remember what it was or where it is.

I never understand the ruffled feathers people get over them.

Like the bare minimum of rules you need to play Jumpchain is: pick an Origin for discounts, take Drawbacks for more points.

Everything else is either situational, fluff, or setting rules and setting rules are often told to fuck off by OCP.

but they have this thing where if people "seal" themselves away, they don't age, but they can tell what's happening outside

so wtf is this lifespan bullshit it makes no sense, you either pass time or you don't, not this "I want my cake and eat it" with fucking time itself, using only blocks of energy, like even cryogenics don't work this way, you're just burying yourself in a nuclear reactor

Some of the system penalties for failed missions are "death" or "soul destruction", which I guess scares regular people, or "torturous death" that the author describes to fulfill some unwritten fetish idk, I guess, but the really awful ones are the systems that turn guys into girls and then penalize them with "increase sensitivity by 1000 times", "turned into a meat toilet", and "increase menstrual pain by 10 times"

I know all that hurts and all... but as a gamer, if I'm told the penalty is "You lose the chance to get this Special Skill that will never come up ever again" I'd be finishing that mission even if it kills me.
